Skin Care to Prevent Wrinkles

Proper skin care is important in the prevention of wrinkles. Choosing the right products is the first step in anti aging skin care. There are so many anti aging creams and skin care products on the market that you may get confused. Itís difficult to know which the best products for your skin type are. Reading anti-aging cream reviews is an excellent way to help you find the best products to care for your skin.

Anti aging skin care starts with washing your face. Choose a mild cleanser with moisturizing ingredients for dry skin. Harsh soaps should be avoided, as these are very drying to the skin. This can actually make wrinkles more noticeable. Wash with gentle circular motions and pat dry when finished. Donít scrub too hard or rub the face when drying the skin after cleansing.

Donít wash your face too often. This will strip the skin of natural moisture that is needed for good skin condition. Use lukewarm water and avoid using very hot water, which will dry the skin even more. Chlorine is used to purify water in many municipal water supplies. Chlorine is very damaging to the skin. If your water has a lot of chlorine, consider installing a filter to remove this chemical from your water.

Use a good moisturizer that is made for your skin type. For dry skin, you will want to choose a rich moisturizer to help retain moisture in your skin. If you have oily skin, look for a moisturizer that is oil free. This will prevent clogging of the pores and break outs. Many women think they donít need a moisturizer if they have oily skin, but this is not true. Keeping your skin well moisturized will also help anti aging creams penetrate the skin evenly.

Look for anti aging creams that contain antioxidants. These products scavenge free radicals in the skin cells. They are available in creams and lotions and are effective for reducing wrinkles and preventing new wrinkles. Creams are made to be applied in the daytime or before bed at night. Some of the antioxidants will remain on the skin even after washing. This provides a more lasting effect for controlling wrinkles. Some of the antioxidants used in skin care products include vitamins A, C, E, alpha lipoic acid and selenium.

Exfoliating skin care products are good for preventing and minimizing wrinkles. These products work by removing the dead skin cells from the outer layers of the skin. When the dead cells are removed, younger looking skin is the result. Exfoliating ingredients are used in facial scrubs and anti aging creams. Choose a product that will work well for your skin type. Follow the manufacturerís directions for proper use. This will give you the best results for younger looking skin.

Protect your skin from the sun by using a sunscreen when you are outside. Some anti aging creams and moisturizers contain a sunscreen. Check the labels for this ingredient. If your lotion does not contain a sunscreen, be sure to apply one before spending time outdoors. Sunscreen isnít just for the beach. You should use it whenever you spend time outdoors. It will protect your skin from the effects of the ultraviolet radiation of the sun. This is a big contributor to premature aging.
