Baby Strollers Better Business Bureau Reliability Seal

At the top of every new parent’s wish list is a stroller. From the most basic umbrella-type model that allows for easy traveling, to jogging styles that can help Mom and Dad to get (back) into shape, having the right stroller can be a life-saver.

Gone are the days of the bulky carriage - though you can still find those if you like the classic look. Today’s strollers can be as sleek and functional as you could possibly want, with travel systems that allow you to snap your baby’s car seat right into the frame, accessories like cup holders (for baby and for Mom!) and sun shades, and even organizers to keep your diapers, wipes, and snacks all in the right place.

Babies R Us

BABIES R US Visit Site

TopConsumerReviews.com Best-In-Class Blue Ribbon Award If you're shopping for baby gear, you'll probably find yourself at Babies "R" Us - either in person or online. As a Toys "R" Us brand, their selection and attention to customer service is unmatched, from strollers to car seats and much more.

Not sure what you need? Use the website's helpful Stroller Finder feature to narrow down the options. On the left-hand side of the page, you can select features like stroller type, such as joggers or double/triple models; best uses, like shopping or traveling; price range, child capacity, brand, or color. You'll get a list of results that match your criteria; click "compare" to add any that catch your attention, and see which ones have the features you want most. There's also a handy Stroller Guide that will walk you through the different types of strollers on the market, with a diagram illustrating all of the features you may not have even known that you needed (like one-hand folding or a parent storage tray!).

Babies "R" Us has competitive pricing across a variety of brands. We selected a popular Graco travel system (stroller and compatible car seat) and a Peg Perego umbrella-style stroller and found that no other retailer had either model for a lower price. More importantly, Babies "R" Us had a variety of color choices in stock for both strollers; other sites often had at least one option that was not offered or wasn't currently available.

If you should happen to find a lower price somewhere else, Babies "R" Us does offer a price match guarantee. Just be aware that it applies only to in-store purchases even if you use an online competitor's price to make the price match request.

Customers will also appreciate Babies "R" Us' frequent sales and discounts. At the time of our review, there was a promotion for $10 off any purchase of $100 or more for all online orders.

Shipping costs at Babies "R" Us are excellent: most orders of $19 or more ship for free to the lower 48 states, and items that ship for free are clearly indicated by the green text under the price which says "Good news! This item ships for free!"

Babies "R" Us has one of the most generous return policies of all of the stroller stores in our review. Online purchases can be returned to a local store or to their Online Return Center within 90 days of purchase. Also, they extend this return policy on baby registry gifts, up to 12 months after the baby's expected arrival date. This is most helpful when giving a gift that might not be opened for several months. This gives Babies "R" Us a significant advantage over most of the other stroller stores we considered.

Babies "R" Us has several additional customer-friendly perks that aren't offered by many other retailers. Their Rewards"R"Us program gives shoppers $5 in rewards credit for every 125 points (typically earned as 1 point for every dollar spent), and the Endless Earnings program gives baby registry customers up to 10% back in store gift cards for all items purchased from their registered wishlist. With bigger-ticket items like strollers, those rewards add up fast!

Because of their competitive pricing, customer-friendly policies and perks, and wide selection of strollers in a variety of styles and brands, Babies "R" Us earns our highest rating for Baby Strollers.

Buy Buy Baby

BUY BUY BABY Visit Site

Buybuy Baby is part of the Bed Bath & Beyond family of brands (hence the abbreviation "BBB" for both stores), with more than 100 retail locations throughout the US. Whether you're just looking for a stroller or you need to get many items checked off your baby "must-buy" list, you'll find BBB's selection to be impressive and the website easy to use.

Buybuy Baby is strongly competitive with respect to price and availability when it comes to strollers. We checked out a popular Graco travel system and a lightweight Peg Perego umbrella-style stroller, and BBB had the same low prices as several other retailers. Also, they offer a generous Price Match Guarantee, and many customer reviews indicate that BBB makes the process very simple either using the instructions provided on the website or by making the request in-store.

Need an equally generous return policy? How about one year from the date of purchase, in unused condition? Even if you don't have a receipt, they will make every effort to locate the record of the purchase using the credit/debit card number, order number, or any other available identifying information.

Shipping costs are equally customer-friendly: free standard shipping on orders over $49, including Alaska and Hawaii (some retailers don't ship there at all, let alone for free).

And, if you're not sure what you need, there's a tool featured prominently on the Strollers page that will walk you through the process, starting with the number of children you need to hold. This is just one of the helpful shopping tools offered by BBB; others include Guides & Advice, videos, and a glossary of terms to help new parents-to-be or clueless gift-givers to understand exactly what a particular baby product is used for. We were particularly touched by BBB's adoption checklists, to help parents-to-be who may not have had nine months to prepare; we love that BBB was considerate enough to list supplies like laundry detergent and culturally-appropriate clothing for new parents traveling internationally for an adoption.

One small part of Buybuy Baby's customer experience had us somewhat puzzled: baby registry gift returns. The description of the process seems simple enough - return the item to a retail location or via mail - we found several reviews that indicated that when a customer returned an item from their own registry, the purchase price was refunded to the gift-giver's credit card rather than as an in-store merchandise credit to the recipient. This may have been an error on the part of the store associates, but we do suggest that registry users find out for sure when creating their wishlists with Buybuy Baby.

Buybuy Baby earns high marks for an ample selection of strollers, a customer-friendly website, and generous shipping and return policies.

Baby Earth

BABY EARTH Visit Site

Originally formed under the name Baby-Wise, BabyEarth's business grew out of two parents' frustration with not being able to find the newest, most innovative baby items in their local Austin, Texas stores. Owners Heather and James Bendle started their company in order to make cool, new products available to online shoppers.

Using the BabyEarth website is easy. From the main stroller page, you can sort through all of the 150+ strollers by price or by best sellers; or, use the options on the left-hand side of the page to narrow down the options by brand, stroller weight, and more. Alternately, if you have an idea of what you need, you can browse by stroller style (single, double, jogging, travel system, and so on).

The selection at BabyEarth is somewhat limited compared with better-known stroller stores. When we searched for a popular Graco travel system, we couldn't find it; the umbrella stroller we also used for comparison among stores was not available in as many colors and patterns as we found elsewhere.

On the other hand, BabyEarth's prices are very competitive on the strollers they do carry, including a rewards program that gives members 5% back in BE Rewards dollars on all eligible purchases. The site doesn't specifically mention which purchases may be excluded from earning rewards.

Shipping costs are slightly higher at BabyEarth than at some stores we reviewed. Orders over $99 ship for free, and orders with amounts less than $99 ship for $7.95. Also, if you happen to live in the Austin area, you can get free same-day delivery.

On the other hand, few online baby stores can match BabyEarth's return policy, with most purchases eligible for a refund if returned in new, unused condition within one year from purchase. This is exceptionally customer-friendly, especially when buying gifts using BE's registry or products that might not be needed for several months (until the baby is born, or is big enough for a forward-facing car seat).

Where BabyEarth really shines is in their commitment to customer service. As a merchant with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and a Google Trusted Store, BE has an excellent track record. Their return policy allows customers to get a refund for any stroller returned in new, unused condition within 12 months of purchase. If you're buying a stroller that might not be needed for a little while - as a gift for a baby that hasn't been born yet, or a jogging stroller that might not be used until spring - this could be extremely helpful. We also found many customer reviews that compliment BabyEarth for handling any issues that came up in an efficient, accurate, and better yet, apologetic manner.

With competitive pricing and a stellar reputation for satisfying customers, BabyEarth earns high marks and is a highly recommended retailer for your next baby stroller purchase.

Stroller Depot

STROLLER DEPOT Visit Site

In this era of big box retailers, it can be refreshing to work with a family-operated business. Stroller Depot provides exactly that, with appointment-only showrooms in the Denver and Salt Lake City metro areas and an easy-to-use website featuring today's top brands in strollers.

Start by going to the main Strollers page. You can sort all of the available models by price, but we recommend that you choose the type of stroller you're looking for - all-terrain, travel system, jogging, double/triple/quadruple, and so on - or the specific brand, if you have one in mind. Stroller Depot has a strong focus on - you guessed it! - strollers, with more than 30 brands to choose from.

Stroller Depot is very competitive with prices: even though they do not have a price match guarantee, we found that they had the Peg Perego umbrella stroller at the same low price as larger retailers, and it was in stock in all of the colors made by the manufacturer. However, they did not carry the Graco travel system we used for comparison among the other stores in our review.

Shipping is free on all orders over $100 within the lower 48 United States. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, a representative from Stroller Depot will call you to let you know the amount of the additional shipping charges.

The return policy at Stroller Depot is a little stricter than most other retailers'. You will need to return your stroller within 30 days in order to get a refund, and you should expect to pay a restocking fee of 15%.

Stroller Depot also has a great reputation for customer service. Unlike most stores, when you call this retailer, you get a representative who has actually worked with the strollers personally and can give you his or her own experience with all of the features, how the stroller opens and closes, and can answer any other questions you may have. Customer reviews are positive, and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau is further proof that Stroller Depot is doing a good job of keeping their shoppers happy.

That good reputation, along with the strong emphasis on and knowledge of strollers, earns Stroller Depot good marks. This score would easily increase with the inclusion of some of the more popular travel systems, along with a more generous return policy. But, overall, Stroller Depot is a solid choice for your next baby stroller purchase.

Baby Cubby

BABY CUBBY Visit Site

Offering "the best of everything baby", Baby Cubby has a good selection of baby gear, including cribs, clothing, and more. They aim to help parents feel supported throughout the journey of welcoming a new baby into the family and to feature only the best products on the market.

Using the Baby Cubby site to find a stroller is relatively easy. If you already have a particular brand or style in mind, the search box is at the top right side of the page. Otherwise, use the left-hand navigation to choose the options you need:

  • Single Strollers
  • Double & Triple
  • Jogging
  • Lightweight
  • Stroller Accessories

You can further sort the results by category, price, brand, color, and so forth. There are more than 100 strollers to choose from in Baby Cubby's selection.

You'll find that Baby Cubby's brand selection is somewhat limited to higher-end names like UPPAbaby and Stokke; we did not find the Graco or Peg Perego models used to compare prices and selection among the retailers we reviewed. However, we did find their prices to be very competitive on the brands they do carry; Baby Cubby's prices were always the same as or better than what we found on other stores' sites.

For further savings, look for special offers: at the time of our review, there was a 10% discount for new customers who signed up for the Baby Cubby email newsletter. Baby Cubby also offers a price match guarantee if you should find the stroller you want at a lower price; you can either call the customer service number before making your purchase, and they'll process your order over the phone at the lower price, or you can make the request after you've already ordered. It's up to you. Also, shipping is free at Baby Cubby, which could save you money over other stores.

Baby Cubby's return policy is fairly typical: unopened, unused items can be returned within 30 days of purchase and require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. You'll need to call Baby Cubby in advance to get the RMA before making your request for a refund.

Baby Cubby doesn't seem to have been around too long: most of the reviews we could find were written starting in 2016, and there was no Better Business Bureau listing for either the website or the retail location in Utah. We did find lots of positive comments on Baby Cubby's Facebook page, praising the quality of the items sold (both online and brick-and-mortar), the personalized customer service, and the overall shopping experience.

Our own experience with the Baby Cubby website was less than excellent. Many pages have typos, missing words and punctuation. We also found it strange that the return policy page makes mention of a business called Seven Seas Aquariums, and the phone number given for Baby Cubby's returns department is also the number for a Utah fishing nets business and pet store.

On the whole, Baby Cubby looks like a reasonable place to buy your baby stroller, especially if you find the model you want at the lowest available price. Free shipping is a definite plus, and it seems that hundreds of people have had good experiences as a customer of this retailer. We hope that, as they get more established as a business, Baby Cubby will pay a similar amount of attention to detail on their website, so that online shoppers can better trust that they are a reputable store for baby strollers.

Giggle

GIGGLE Visit Site

Giggle seeks to be a different kind of store: one that makes it easier to be a parent, by reducing the number of product options down to a curated list of items that are healthy, stylish, and innovative. With retail stores primarily located in high-end areas of New York, California, and Connecticut, you'll quickly see that Giggle's inventory is similarly high-end, trendy, and with the price tag to match.

While you might enjoy Giggle's approach, they may not have the stroller brands and styles you're looking for. They did not carry any strollers in the two brands we used for comparison in our review: Graco and Peg Perego. Giggle's top-selling brands are UPPAbaby and Babyzen, which are all in the $450+ price range. If you're looking to save a little, keep an eye on the top of the Giggle website; we often found discounts there, such as $50 off an order of $200 or more. From time to time, we also got a pop-up offering 10% off our order if we signed up for Giggle's email list.

Giggle's returns policy is average: unopened merchandise can be returned within 30 days of purchase, either to a retail location or via mail. One plus is that strollers without a receipt can also be returned for a merchandise credit at the stroller's current selling price.

Shipping charges aren't as competitive with other retailers we considered. At the time of our review, Giggle had a four-day promotion offering free shipping on orders over $100; regular shipping ranges anywhere from $4.95 for orders up to $15 to 10% of the order total on purchases up to $750. Since most of their competitors regularly offer free shipping on larger orders, Giggle customers may balk at having to pay $75 in shipping on an already-expensive stroller.

Overall, Giggle is ideal for shoppers who have a little bit more to spend and who only want the best possible strollers to choose from, rather than those who are shopping on a budget or who are just looking for the basics.

A Baby

A BABY Visit Site

With a tagline proclaiming "Only the best for Baby!" it's no surprise that aBaby specializes in high-end, customized items for infants and children. While they primarily sell one-of-a-kind furniture for the nursery, aBaby does carry just over a dozen strollers.

Finding those strollers may be a challenge. Unlike most of the stores we reviewed, aBaby does not have a link anywhere in the navigation bar to take you directly to their available strollers. Instead, you'll need to search by keyword to see what they have to offer.

We were not overly impressed with aBaby's selection. Their available brands are extremely limited - no Graco travel system or Peg Perego umbrella stroller, like the ones we used to compare prices with other retailers. In fact, we couldn't find a single model that would allow for a parent to use it with a car seat, either as part of a travel system or with a snap-in feature. There was also only one stroller that could accommodate more than one child at a time: the six-passenger buggy often used by day care facilities. With such a limited selection, it was difficult to compare aBaby's prices with other stores.

On a more positive note, all but two of aBaby's strollers ship for free, saving you some money.

aBaby's return policy is fairly standard: customers can return strollers for a refund or exchange within 30 days of receipt. Shipping costs are non-refundable, and you'll have to pay the shipping costs on any returns. There is a 15% restocking fee on larger items, so you'll want to check the specific stroller you'd like to buy to see if it is big enough to have that fee.

Looking at customer satisfaction, aBaby's results vary widely. We're impressed with their A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau for the greater New York City area, and nearly 100 reviews on aBaby's site show five-star feedback from happy shoppers. However, reviews on other sites describe significant issues with customer service. Some shoppers waited months for their product to be delivered, and in some instances the order never shipped at all. Other customers said that it was a hassle to get a refund without being charged a restocking fee, even on smaller purchases.

While we appreciate aBaby's strong reputation with the BBB and free shipping on most strollers, their small selection and issues with delivery might leave many customers looking elsewhere.

S & D Kids

S & D KIDS Visit Site

With a good reputation in the NYC area, we wanted to love S&D Kids. Best known for reasonably-priced school uniforms, this Brooklyn-based retailer seems to be aiming to provide a wider range of products that might appeal to a broader customer base.

Unfortunately, their website makes it extremely difficult to shop for strollers. When you click on the main Strollers link at the top of the page, you'll have to know which type of stroller you want in order to see any results. We clicked on Single Strollers and were disappointed to only find four brands available: Baby Jogger, Delta, Wonder Buggy, and Chicco. We didn't find the Graco travel system or the Peg Perego umbrella-style stroller we used for comparison on other sites - in fact, we didn't find any strollers by either of those well-known manufacturers. When clicking on a particular stroller, we also found that there was no information provided under the Specifications/Features section of the product description.

Even when we tried using the Shop By Brand links at the bottom of the page, they didn't take us anywhere except to the top of the page we were browsing at the time.

And, although the site promises free shipping on orders over $50, we still were charged a standard shipping fee of $8.95 when we added a stroller priced at $54.99 to our cart.

On the other hand, there was a pop-up offer to save 10% on our order if we signed up for S&D Kids' email list.

S&D Kids does have a reasonable return policy as well: new and unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery, but you must get a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from the store first. Be aware that, if you don't meet all of the conditions described on their return policy, you may be charged a restocking fee of at least 15%.

It may be that S&D is a great place to buy a stroller, but their website leaves definite room for improvement. If you're looking for a smooth, easy online shopping experience when you buy a stroller, you'll likely be happier with one of the more highly-rated retailers in our review. We give S&D Kids 2 stars.

My Strollers

MY STROLLERS Visit Site

If you're looking for a glitzy stroller website with lots of bells and whistles, you won't find it at My Strollers. On the other hand, if you want a wide selection of strollers to choose from, including those that are made for older children and adults with special needs, you should be sure to check out what My Strollers has to offer.

On the main strollers page, you can sort by category, price, or brand name by using the drop-down box in the upper right part of the page; you can also use the left-hand navigation to filter results by category, price range, or manufacturer. This felt a bit more clunky compared to some of My Stroller's competitors, which usually had a shopping guide or tool to help customers get a better feel for their needs.

Although they didn't carry the Graco travel system we used for our basis of comparison in our review, My Strollers did have the Peg Perego umbrella-style model in all of the colors available on the market. It shared the lowest price with several other retailers we considered. We also found that MyStrollers carries an impressive range of brands, including high-end names like UPPAbaby and Inglesina, and better-known manufacturers like Chicco and Britax.

One definite cause for concern is My Strollers' reputation. While they didn't have a grade/rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, we did see that the BBB had revoked MyStrollers' accreditation for not responding promptly to customer complaints. We then found numerous examples of such complaints, especially from parents who ordered strollers for special-needs children and waited more than two months for the product to be delivered - only to be told that the order was cancelled, with no refund returned to their PayPal or credit card account. In fact, positive reviews for My Strollers were hard to come by.

While we were hopeful that My Strollers would be an excellent resource for customers looking for strollers, we feel that most shoppers stand a good chance of being disappointed by this retailer's lack of attention to quality customer service.

Continued from above

On the other hand, finding that perfect stroller at your local store isn't always easy; most brick-and-mortar stores carry a limited range of styles and brands, making it necessary to drive from one end of town to the other to get the model you want. And, if you're a parent of a child with special needs - or of twins, triplets, and more! - it can be even more challenging to find the specialty stroller you're looking for.

Fortunately, online shopping has simplified the entire process, with numerous brands, styles, and prices just a mouse click away. Many retailers will sweeten your stroller deal by including free shipping or store rewards, especially on the more expensive models. If you're shopping for a friend or family member, most online stores have gift registries, ensuring that you get the exact model your recipient wants.

With so many stores competing for your attention, how can you know where to buy your stroller? As you look at what each online retailer has to offer, keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Prices. Compared with other stores selling strollers, are the prices competitive? Is there a price match guarantee if you find a lower price somewhere else? Will your stroller ship for free?
  • Selection. Does the store offer a wide variety of strollers to choose from?
  • Customer Service. Do other shoppers have positive things to say about the help received from the retailer's customer service representatives? Is it easy to contact the store with any questions or concerns?
  • Return Policy. Can you return the stroller if, for some reason, it doesn't meet your expectations? If so, will there be a restocking fee?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Stroller stores available today. We hope these reviews help you and your little one get rolling along smoothly and safely!
