DENTAL INSURANCE

Nobody wants to get plaque, gingivitis, or cavities, but what can you do if you are not covered by a dental insurance plan? According to the American Dental Association, this is the situation that over half of the American public faces.

One alternative is to subscribe to a non-insurance dental plan, also known as a discount dental plan. These types of plans have been around since the early 1990's and offer a fee-based benefit program that gives members discounts on various dental services including fillings, exams, routine cleanings, and so on. These plans are designed for individuals, families, and groups looking to save money on their dental care needs. Unlike traditional insurance plans, discount dental plans do not have annual limits, health restrictions, or messy paperwork to wade through. Subscribers pay monthly or yearly membership fees, and, in turn, receive discounts on dental services. Participating providers agree to accept this discounted fee from plan members as payment for services performed. However, keep in mind that in most cases this fee is due at the time of service.

There are many Internet services available to provide both dental insurance and discount dental plans. When looking at different dental insurance services, there are certain factors you need to consider. Some of these include:

• Support.  If you have questions, can you contact someone to get assistance? Does the website provide information that can help you make informed decisions?

• Services.  Does the website offer dental insurance or dental plans that meet your needs?

Upfront Pricing.  Can you compare dental insurance costs and benefits to make an educated decision?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best dental insurance services available today. We hope you find these reviews helpful in finding the right dental plan for you.
