PAID SURVEYS

Many people have discovered a simple way to earn extra income while working from home. These people make money by completing surveys on the internet. While not a get-rich-quick scheme, you can still reasonably make $100, $200, even $1,000 or more each month by giving your opinion, trying new products, and watching movie trailers.

There are dozens - maybe hundreds - of programs offering these services online. While many of these programs are legitimate, unfortunately many more of them are nothing more than scams. Once they lure you in to signup for their service, you discover that their benefits are tied to a credit card you must purchase or promotional materials that have no real cash value.

When looking at different paid survey programs, there are certain factors you need to consider. Some of these include:

•  Legitimacy.  Does the program pay its members in cash? Can you expect to make money with this program?

•  Opportunities.  Some programs offer hundreds of companies willing to pay you for your opinion; others offer only a few dozen. The more companies they have, the more money you can make.

•  Cost.  Is the cost of the program reasonable given the amount of money you can make from it?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best paid survey programs available today. We hope you find these reviews helpful in earning you some extra income!

4.5 stars

Cost:

$39.95

Offers:

450+ companies

Bonuses:

Get paid to shop & eat

300 additional work at home opportunities

This site describes their program and benefits in a no-nonsense fashion. If you're expecting a lot of fluff or a hard-sell attitude, you'd better look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you want to quickly see what a program offers, this site will appeal to you.

Paid Surveys at Home delivers 5 basic ways to make money; take online surveys ($5-$75), online focus groups ($50-$150), phone surveys (up to $120 an hour), trying new products (and get to keep them), and previewing movie trailers ($4-$25). Convincing testimonials are sprinkled throughout to help the skeptic.

The site is set up with an informational home page, a FAQ page, Contact information and a member log in section. The FAQ page is very concise answering the top 8 questions that immediately come to mind. Contact with the company is through email only but you can route your inquiry to a particular department to get a faster response. The lifetime membership fee is $39.95 for access to over 450 companies. Plus your membership comes with free bonuses valued at over $100.

This site would benefit from a better FAQ page, an income calculator seen on a few other survey sites, and more job offerings. Still, Paid Surveys At Home is an easy to use, professional site that delivers what they promise.

The graphics on the site are a little cheesy; however, the sample surveys they provide really give you an idea of how you would give your opinion for $10-$20. The cost to become a member of Quick Paid Surveys is normally $79.90 but at the time of this review the price is $39.95 and includes special software to help you work more efficiently.

Top Dollar Surveys is chic and geared toward the millennium generation, complete with a scrolling news bar featuring the benefits of using their service. The website is clean and crisp and clearly states the nature of the business. This site weighs heavily on the money that can be made and the flexibility of "Being your own Boss." The site sells you on the benefits of working from home, setting your own hours, and determining your own pay.

With over 700 companies in their database, people of all generations can take advantage of Top Dollar Surveys. The companies are willing to pay up to $75 for answering online surveys, $150 per hour to participate in focus groups, and up to $25 per hour to preview movie trailers. Plus if you try new products you get to keep them. If you're still not convinced, the site shows you how much money you can make just by answering 2 surveys per day in an easy to read table.

The FAQ page is grouped by topic so it is easy to find the answers to your questions. Customer service is available via email only. The fee to join is $34.95 and that is a one-time fee. Once you join, you also receive over $200 worth of bonuses that show you how to get paid for a host of other jobs such as: reading email, driving your car, passing out samples, how to make money on EBay and mystery shopping opportunities.

While Top Dollar Surveys does a lot of things right, we found more higher-paying survey and focus group opportunities on our higher-ranked selections. Those sites also seemed to be updated more frequently with new opportunities. Still, Top Dollar Surveys is an attractive site that delivers a large number of opportunities. You could do far worse.

Survey Scout

SURVEY SCOUT

3 stars

Cost:

$34.95

Offers:

500 companies

Bonuses:

Get paid to shop and eat

Get paid to read email

Get paid to drive

Survey Scout is organized with a home page and a "how it works" page, both with an overwhelming amount of text trying to convince you to use their service. The obvious information given on their home page describes how you can make money with online surveys, focus groups, phone surveys, using new products and watching movie trailers. All these programs pay between $4 and $150 per activity.

Survey Scout has a large database of over 500 companies. The fee to sign-up for a one year membership is $69.95 but they have such a high demand for survey participants that they are offering an "unlimited access" membership for just $34.95 plus free bonuses. These bonuses include special software and 3 other popular "get paid" programs.

Survey Scout allows you to test drive your membership for up to 8 weeks. At any time within the period, if you are not satisfied for any reason, Survey Scout will refund your membership fee...no questions asked.

The FAQ page is well organized by topic and answer a host of questions to better educate their members. Customer service is available via email or regular post mail.

While we like the professional representation of Survey Scout, we think they'd have better luck in providing more facts without the hard-sell approach and discount pricing.

Highest Pay Surveys

HIGHEST PAY SURVEYS

2 stars

Cost:

$49.95

Offers:

Number of companies not listed; instead they list 1,300 "opportunities"

Bonuses:

Get paid to shop and eat

Get paid to pass out samples

Get paid to drive

Highest Pay Surveys is a simple text website. They claim to have over 1300 "opportunities" that pay between $10 and $300 for surveys and $50 to $300 online focus groups. This site also has audio testimonials from members, which add a nice touch to the presentation.

Membership is a one time fee of $49.95 and can be paid by MasterCard or Visa. Highest Pay Surveys includes 3 bonus programs valued at over $100 with every paid membership. These bonuses include get paid to shop and eat, pass out samples and get paid to drive. Plus, they guarantee access to a $300 survey every day and back it up with a 60 day money back guaranteeing 100% customer satisfaction.

The FAQ section is informative and answers most questions that come to mind after reading the general information. Customer service is offered 24 hours a day, however, no contact information is provided for phone or email inquiries. They are very quick to point out that their customer service staff is extremely busy, but how? We don't know because we don't know how to reach them.

Highest Pay Surveys is a good, concise, informational site with a few bells; however, the lack of contact information and listing opportunities instead of number of companies makes a whistle sound off to proceed with caution. And at a price higher than the other sites in our review, we think you could do better elsewhere.

Express Paid Surveys

EXPRESS PAID SURVEYS

1.5 stars

Cost:

$34.95

Offers:

Not listed

Bonuses:

Get paid to take surveys

Get paid to try new products

Get paid to preview movie trailers

Express Paid Surveys is fun, colorful and no nonsense. What's different about Express Paid Surveys is that they don't spend a lot of time trying to convince you to take their offer. They state the 4 avenues of income and immediately whisk you off to get started with the process. The site does provide a FAQ page that is very thorough in answering over a dozen of the most logical and popular questions.

The four areas they provide to make money are by taking surveys, participating in online focus groups, trying new products, and previewing movie trailers. Customer service is available via email.

Two things are bothersome about this site. First, there is no reference as to how many companies are in the database. This is standard information on other sites we reviewed. In fact, it is a "badge of honor" for these sites as this is one of the only major differentiating elements.

The second bone of contention is that it is not clear on the home page that you have to pay a membership fee to use their service. There is mention of a membership fee in the FAQ section, but no price is listed. In order to break the code of this website, you must create a user name and password. Then you are asked to create a profile, which is step two of a three step registration process. At this point, you still don't know how much the service will cost. The profile consists of your name, sex, height and age. Then you are taken to the third step of registration and you are finally given the much awaited information of how much the service costs. We don't know what the big secret is because the cost for Express Paid Surveys is the same as most other sites reviewed: a one time fee of $34.95 providing unlimited access to their database plus 3 bonuses valued over $85.

One offering unique to Express Paid Surveys is that they also offer a 1 year membership for $39.95 or a 3 month membership for $24.95.

We were disappointed in the lengthy signup process, just to find out how much the program costs. Plus, the fact that they don't advertise the number of companies participating in their program is troubling. Although their website is fun, they just don't have the delivery to back it up.
