If you have an upcoming trip planned, you owe it to yourself to look into travel insurance. It's an unfortunate reality that things happen when we least expect them. We've found that experts generally recommend travel insurance, and the savviest of travelers look at it as a wise choice.
If you think that your credit card company will protect you, think again. Credit card companies may cover certain aspects
of airline costs if your tickets go missing or become worthless, but they will not help you if your flight is delayed and your cruise is missed. Nor will they help if you suffer an injury or illness while traveling.
Standard insurance policies often fail when it comes to travel. For example, you may already have a medical insurance policy. However, most of these plans don't have a list of doctors to assist you in European countries, for example, or off the Coast of Barbados. You may have to pay 100% out of pocket expenses just to get assistance. In these cases, travel insurance with medical coverage
can save you thousands of dollars in the event that you need to be treated by adequate medical staff.
Before you purchase travel insurance, you want to make sure that you select the best company to meet your needs. Important
aspects of travel insurance providers include:
• Coverage. What specifically will the travel insurance cover during your trip?
• Reimbursement. When and how fast will the travel insurance company step in to pay for what you need?
• Cost. Does the travel insurance company charge a reasonable fee for the coverage they offer?
TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Travel Insurance providers available today. We hope you find these reviews helpful in finding the right travel insurance that protects you on your next trip!

Insure My Trip utilizes 19 insurance carriers and provides over 100 travel insurance plans to assist you in finding what you need. Insure My Trip promises that their partnership with each insurance company is highly involved.
Steps to obtain travel insurance quotes compare similarly to other sites we reviewed. Simply enter trip destination, cost, dates, age of travelers, and type of trip you will be taking. A list of insurance companies will appear in alphabetical order along with the price of the plan. You can choose to view one particular plan or opt for a comparison chart to view several plans side
by side.
Insure My Trip is not the most appealing website, but it does provide many helpful features. One special feature to Insure My Trip is an email option they provide where you can email quotes to yourself and refer back to them at a later time from your personal email account. Another element we were pleased to find was an online help link for clients interested in getting answers to
questions immediately. All you have to do is enter your name and click on the site you are using to start your live chat with a customer service representative.
Insure My Trip offers competitive quotes and an easy to use site. Although the site is not as user friendly as many of the other travel insurance sites and the insurance companies fewer in number and name, we believe this site is worth your time.

Quote Wright is a site offering a small variety of travel insurance plans from different insurance carriers. As we reviewed this site, we found Quote Wright had fewer insurance carriers to compare than many of the other travel insurance sites. Our navigation through Quote Wright was easy but not as quick as some of the other sites.
The first step in getting insurance quotes includes listing the number of travelers, dates of the trip, country of residence, and specifying which insurance plan you are most interested in. On the next page you add ages of travelers, trip destination, trip cost, country of citizenship, type of trip, and first trip payment date.
Quote Wright did offer several sorting options once the travel insurance plans appeared. We found this to be a beneficial feature to their site. As most of the other travel insurance sites included, Quote Wright also supplied an easy to use comparison chart for choosing the best plan to meet your needs. A unique feature of Quote Wright included travel links for topics such as passport
info, language sites,and travel warnings.
Quote Wright also provided customer service help through an online chat. As soon as you click on the chat icon, you are connected with a customer service representative and are able to type in your questions. The representatives were generally informative and helpful.
While Quote Wright had several insurance carriers and some helpful tools, we found it to be only somewhat worth our time. With many of the leading travel insurance sites offering more competitive pricing, we ranked Quote Wright a grade below the top.

Travel Insurance Center is a simple way to obtain insurance quotes quickly. Travel Insurance Center contains 7 different plans to choose from with a small range of insurance carriers. Although Travel Insurance Center supplies some competitive quotes, they are unable to provide a wide variety of quotes compared to the top leading travel insurance sites.
The process to obtain a travel quote is similar to many of the other sites we reviewed. The key information you must supply includes trip dates, trip cost, place of residence, and age of travelers. From there you can view all of the travel insurance plans. Travel Insurance Center provides a sort pull down bar to view insurance plans by a specific benefit or price. As with most of
the other insurance sites, we found that Travel Insurance Center gives you a compare option so that you can view plans side by side.
Travel Insurance Center has several supportive aspects to their site. They provide the option to engage in an online chat with a customer service representative. Another helpful feature is Travel Insurance Center's Help Desk Section. This section includes frequently asked questions, service and support numbers for each insurance carrier, a document library, alerts, and information
on understanding travel insurance.
Travel Insurance Center is a safe site for obtaining competitive quotes for your travel insurance needs. However, if you are looking for a large variety of insurance carriers and the best price for your comparison, you should check out the higher ranked travel insurance sites first.

World Nomads misses the mark when it comes to finding the travel insurance you need. They offer less than a handful of insurance carriers mostly based out of Australia. World Nomads claims their site is designed for adventurous independent travelers which immediately sends a message that they target only a key group of travelers.
When navigating through World Nomad's site, we found it to offer limited information and many restrictions. We noted that you could only obtain travel insurance within specific windows of time such as 2 weeks to 3 months for travel. Any travel experience less than a 2 week window of time was not an option. It also restricted the age of a traveler to under 61 years of age.
The summary of benefits were not very detailed and left us wanting more information to feel confident enough to make a purchase.
Like a couple of other travel insurance sites, World Nomad gives travelers a safety section alerting them to possible danger areas. For an adventurous traveler not worried about restrictions or limitations, World Nomad could be a place to explore travel insurance. For the other 99 percent of the traveling population, we would not recommend this site to meet your travel insurance needs.
