Murad

Cost:

$59.90 (Cleanser, Exfoliating Gel, Lotion)

Bonus:

Acne Spot Formula

Murad Inc. is a full-scale skincare company tending to many different skincare issues, both problematic and preventative. The Murad acne relief plan is one of several skincare regimens offered by this company.

The Acne Complex Regimen is a three-step process starting with the Clarifying Cleanser, followed by the Exfoliating Acne Gel. The last step in this regimen is the Skin Perfecting Lotion. Our review package also included a free bonus of the Acne Spot formula, designed for use on specific problem areas.

While all of the above are topical applications, Murad also recommends using their Pure Skin Clarifying Dietary Supplement, to help fight acne-causing bacteria from inside the body. This is priced at $40 for 120 tablets, a 2-month supply.

Murad has so many skincare products that are specifically designed to do different things that the website can be a little overwhelming. However, they enjoy a very good reputation in delivering quality products that do what they're designed to.

The Murad tag line is "Where skincare meets healthcare". According to Dr. Murad, acne is not curable, but it is manageable and controllable with the right regimens in place. Many topical acne medications have benzoyl peroxide as a leading ingredient; Murad, however, is formulated with hydrating agents, anti-inflammatories, antioxidants and other acne fighters that work together for acne free skin. While Murad doesn't highlight "all natural" ingredients, they pride their products on the results that Murad patients have experienced.

Murad brings a strong product to the arena of acne-fighting systems.

Naturasil

Cost:

$19.95 per bottle

Naturasil Acne is a homeopathic product, derived only of all natural ingredients, that works to improve the symptoms of all types of acne, whiteheads and blackheads, as well as, the overall health of skin. Customers can feel good they are attacking their acne without harsh and sometimes dangerous chemicals found in many prescription acne options. All of Naturasilís products are FDA registered, handcrafted and produced in small batches. This company does not test on animals and uses some portion of their profits to assist in global causes.

Naturasil recommends applying their non-greasy acne solution 2 to 3 times per day over the affected area. Users will like the convenient, no mess, rollerball applicator. As far as expectations go, Naturasil vaguely states that improvement will occur gradually over-time and varies per individual. That said, acne sufferers may not see the immediate improvement they are looking for. We looked for customer reviews to identify typical turn-around time but were unable to find much information. However, if not fully satisfied, customers may return all Naturasil products within 90 days of purchase for a full refund.

The active ingredients in Naturasil Acne include a more gentle approach at improving acne. Phosphoricum Acidum 6x HPUS, Chamomile Flower Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Leaf Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Lavender Oil, Orange Pee Oil, and Pelargonium Leaf Oil are used to create a non-greasy solution that work to correct the ph balance, correcting oil production, stimulate skin rejuvenation, dissolve and remove build-up to improve the health of ones skin over time.

Naturasil Acne is a great alternative to expensive and sometimes dangerous prescription drugs that are full of chemicals and damaging to your skin. Naturasilís affordable price and solid return policy means people can give it a try without much risk. If you're interested in an alternative to drug store and prescription acne products, Naturasil Acne is worth a try.

Some products are prescription-only, with harsh side effects. Other over-the-counter acne relief can be just as effective, safer, and cost far less.

There are many acne products available for you to choose from. Some are proven to be effective, while others ride a lot of marketing hype. When looking at different acne products, there are certain factors you want to consider.

Some of these include:

  • Cost.  Does the cost of the acne product represent good value for your dollar?
  • Effectiveness.  Does the acne product work as advertised? How long must you undergo the acne relief plan before it's effects are noticeable? Does it prevent acne from reappearing, or just clear up the acne that's already there?
  • Convenience.  Is the acne product applied easily? Is it topical like a cream); internal (like a pill), or both?
