BioVent is one of two asthma products in our review from Native Remedies, a trusted source of all-natural supplements across a wide spectrum of conditions. The homeopathic blend included with this tincture were selected to support the respiratory system, allowing you to breathe more easily.

The ingredients in BioVent include:

  • Chamomile Flower
  • Astragalus Root (also known as Huang qi)
  • Mullein Leaf
  • Wild Cherry Bark
  • Yerba Santa Leaf
  • Lobelia Herb

Each of these components have been used by practitioners of alternative medicine for centuries - no snake oil here. Native Remedies makes it easy to understand what each component does to help you breathe better: you'll find detailed information under the Ingredients tab.

This asthma relief product can be used by children as young as 1 year of age. BioVent is administered by diluting in a small amount of juice or water and then drinking normally. Adults and children 15 and up take 0.5 mL 2-3 times per day, and children 9-14 take half that amount. For children ages 1-8, administer a single drop per year of age, also 2-3 times daily. You should consider BioVent as a daily supplement that can prevent asthma attacks, but not as a rescue product in the event of an acute attack.

You won't break the bank to purchase BioVent: a 59mL bottle costs $32.95 and can last anywhere from 40-80 days, depending on the age of the user and how often it's administered.

As with most of the products offered by Native Remedies, BioVent comes with plenty of ways to save money. First, look for a pop-up as you shop the site that offers you 15% off and free shipping when you subscribe to their email newsletter. Next, many of the products you'll find on the site are "Buy 2 Get 1 Free", including this Asthma relief product - so you can stock up on BioVent or try out a few other remedies as well. Finally, when you sign up for automatic delivery every 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks, you'll save 10% on each order and also get free shipping.

Of course, the main consideration is how well BioVent works. Although there were only a few dozen customer reviews to take into account, they were overwhelmingly positive. One parent said that she had been using the drops with her sons for more than 10 years, and in that time they were able to completely stop using a traditional inhaler. A few customers said that they got the maximum results when using BioVent in combination with the other Native Remedies' asthma product in our review, BronchoSoothe.

And, even if you try BioVent and decide it's not working the way you had hoped, you can always take advantage of the company's ironclad satisfaction guarantee. They ask that you try the product for at least a month before deciding if it's effective, since many homeopathic products can take a period of consistent use before you see the results. You have a full year to request a full refund, no questions asked. Native Remedies is very reliable when it comes to their customer service, including honoring the satisfaction policy. It's no surprise that they maintain an "A+" rating at the BBB.

BioVent is all-natural, affordable, and effective at preventing asthma attacks. And, with a fantastic 1-year refund policy, this supplement is a great choice for anyone to try.

Primatene Mist

PRIMATENE MIST

Cost:

$29.99 - 1 bottle

Primatene MIST is one of the most well-recognized over-the-counter asthma relief products on the market. Although it was taken off the market for several years (because it used CFC propellants that were banned in 2008), this epinephrine-based medicine has been reformulated and was put back on the shelves in late 2018.

According to the makers of Primatene MIST, it should be used "for temporary relief of mild symptoms of intermittent asthma": shortness of breath, wheezing, and tightness in the chest. It isn't designed to prevent an attack, nor should it be used in place of a rescue inhaler.

As an asthma relief product, Primatene MIST is both effective and affordable. You'll pay less than $30 for 160 sprays. And, across hundreds of customer reviews, people say that they've gotten reliable, safe relief for mild asthma attacks.

We give Primatene MIST a 3-star rating because of its long history of use: doctors recommend it when prescription-based inhaler options aren't available (due to cost or other factors). It's also reasonably priced, making it more accessible for those who can't afford albuterol inhalers, or for people who need something right away (e.g. on vacation and can't get a refill).

But, because it's an epinephrine-based asthma product, it still comes with all of the drawbacks associated with that ingredient. Primatene MIST isn't recommended if you are taking prescription meds for depression, weight control, obesity or psychiatric conditions (specifically MAOIs), or if you're using any drug with phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine, ephedrine or caffeine (like OTC cold/pain/allergy meds). Epinephrine can also increase your blood pressure and/or heart rate, increasing the risk of stroke or heart attack.

Primatene MIST is a good option if you want a reliable way of fighting asthma symptoms and you don't have any of the contraindications we mentioned. However, if you're looking for something more natural or a product you can take to prevent asthma attacks before they begin, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Continued from above

Many of these options use all-natural ingredients to soothe your lungs and get you breathing normally, without the side effects that are so commonly experienced with prescription options. Plus, some of these products are administered as a tablet or oral liquid, eliminating the need to try and take a puff of an inhaler when you're already struggling to breathe.

It's important to realize, however, that not all Asthma products work in the same way. Some work to help prevent attacks from happening in the first place, while others operate more like a rescue option at the onset of breathing difficulties. As you consider the various alternatives to prescription medications, be sure you understand the intended forms that each one provides.

There are several other factors that can influence your decision when buying Asthma products. Some of these criteria include:

  • Price. What will you spend for a one-month supply? How does it compare with similar products on the market? Are there any discounts or promotions like free shipping that can make your purchase more affordable?
  • Method of Use. How do you administer the Asthma product? Whether it's inhaled, taken as a tablet or given orally as a liquid, is it a format that you can easily tolerate?
  • Reputation. What do users say about the Asthma product and the company that sells it? How well does the product work? If you don't get the relief you need, can you get a refund?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Asthma products available today. We hope this information helps you find the right product to help you breathe comfortably and get the relief you deserve!
