Applying for an auto loan with LendingTree is a simple and easy process. You simply complete an online form. Qualified applicants will receive up to five (5) offers in a matter of minutes, along with their credit score. The LendingTree website is a great resource to assist consumers with their financing needs. Fixed rate New and Used Auto Loan terms range from 12 to 84 months, and allow finance options between $7,500 and $300,000. Applicants can get matched with a lender, receive conditional loan offers or quotes, and talk to a lender - all at no cost to you. The lender you choose may require a fee to process your formal request, however there will not be a cost to shop rates through LendingTree.
Overall, LendingTree is a top quality lender that offers a variety of informational tools to help borrowers manage their finances, with the convenience of receiving loan quotes from several lenders in the industry in a matter of minutes. All these factors have earned LendingTree a very high rating.
For those looking for an auto loan, traditional loan companies may not be the most affordable option. Other solutions, such as a personal loan, may be cheaper in the long run. LendingClub is a leader in the social lending market and facilitates personal loans, which can be used as auto loans.
Social Lenders such as LendingClub bring individuals that can provide financing for auto loans together with borrowers who need them. They do this with a secure website and sophisticated back-end processing. Without a bank in the mix, borrowers are typically able to get a lower interest rate on their auto loan than traditional methods.
LendingClub currently holds an "A" Better Business Bureau rating. They help facilitate thousands of loans for customers and lenders each and every month. Shoppers can expect a loan rate between 6.95% and 35.89%. Best APR is available to borrowers with excellent credit.
It's very easy to see if a lender is available for your auto loan needs. You just input the amount you want to borrow, the purpose of your loan, and other information such as your credit score, contact information, and income level. Once LendingClub validates this information, they present you with the terms of your loan. If you choose to proceed, personal lenders have a few days to fund your request. Of course, borrowers with a better credit rating typically have an easier time attracting lenders.
If you have any questions during the process, you can speak to a LendingClub representative for assistance. Like any peer-to-peer lending company, a fee is built into the loan in order to cover costs. Also, you can anticipate a one-time processing fee that ranges from 1% to 6% of the loan amount, depending on your loan terms.
If you're looking for an affordable car loan between $1,000 and $40,000, LendingClub may be a solution that works well for your financial situation over traditional auto loan companies.
If you're looking for transparency and reliability when it comes to financing your next vehicle, put myAutoloan on your list. This Texas-based service, as part of the Horizon Digital Finance group, has been accredited with the Better Business Bureau for more than a decade and holds an impressive A+ rating. Although myAutoloan does not do the lending themselves, but rather refers applicants to as many as four lenders, they simplify the process and make it easy to get a variety of offers to choose from.
We were impressed by both the range of services offered by myAutoloan as well as the interest rates offered by their lending partners. Not everyone makes the typical new or used car purchase from a car dealership; so, if you're looking to refinance your current auto loan, to buy out the lease on your vehicle, or even to get a loan to buy a car from a private individual, myAutoloan can help. At the time of our review, their lenders' interest rates ranged from 1.74% to 3.48% for terms up to 72 months. Of course, those rates come with the standard disclaimer that they depend on an individual's credit history and credit score.
In order to be eligible to be matched with up to four lenders, myAutoloan requires that you meet the following criteria:
If you meet those criteria, you can complete myAutoloan's simple, two-minute application by entering basic information about yourself, your employment, and the vehicle you wish to purchase. You'll be given up to four loan offers from which to choose; if one meets your needs, you will receive your online certificate or check within 24 hours.
We also like the helpful information available on the site, under the headings of Learn About Financing, Rates & Calculators, and Resources. There you'll find descriptions of the various types of auto financing, calculators to help you determine how much you can afford to borrow or what your monthly payments might be, an auto buying guide, and quite a bit more. They'll even connect you with insurance companies to protect your purchase, and the government website to check for any recalls on your new car.
Customer reviews are overwhelmingly positive. From helpful customer service agents to extremely fast delivery of funds, myAutoloan and its lending partners deliver what they promise.
We love myAutoloan's straightforward service that helps borrowers find the best loan for their purchase and their excellent reputation for customer service. We recommend you give them a try for your auto loan needs.
Cars Direct is a website where you can search for new and used cars, trade-in an existing vehicle, or obtain automotive financing. They act as the broker in the auto loan process, which means the auto loan is not through Cars Direct, but through one of their trusted dealer partners which offers financing terms based on customer applications submitted through Cars Direct. Auto loans for new and used cars, as well as refinancing loans can be found through Cars Direct.
Cars Direct has an easy online application process, which approves some customers in as little as 60 seconds or with an income of at least $500/week. These benefits may be part of the reason they've helped over 5 million drivers get approved for auto loans since opening for business in 1998. To begin the process, fill out and submit the online application. Next, a dealer partner will be in contact within 24 hours to go over the customized financing options with you. Now the fun part, select the correct vehicle for you and drive away in your new or used car. No application or processing fees are paid to Cars Direct through the entire process.
Cars Direct is headquartered in California, but works nationwide with dealerships so customers from across the country are able to use their service. They work with customers who have all kinds of credit: great, good, below average, bad, and even those with no credit or credit which includes a bankruptcy. Along with providing an easy auto loan process, Cars Direct also has advice on many related topics, including managing your auto loan, types of auto loans, car loan rates, and more.
Cars Direct is not providing the auto loan, but rather a dealer partner. As a result, the choice of cars made available through Cars Direct is limited to where the loan is originated. Once the shopper qualifies for the loan they are provided a list of car options to choose from. This may be unfavorable for those that already have their care picked out and simply need a loan.
The only downside to using Cars Direct is the inability to shop for any car with a loan obtained through Cars Direct. Other than that, the process and nationwide network is easy and thorough. Their longevity in the industry is also a plus, along with above average customer ratings found at multiple sites online. We rank Cars Direct among the highest for auto loans.

The list of dealers that Road Loans works with is extensive. We found an abundance of relationships with many of the major dealers in several cities.
For any type of car loan the process is simple:
We liked the flexible and customer friendly auto loan options available at Road Loans. We also liked the hassle-free loan process that Road Loans uses when buying a new or used car.
Overall, Road Loans has built a top quality website that streamlines the car loan experience. If you're in the market for a car loan, Road Loans is worth your consideration.
Automotive is a California based company that provides a one-stop-shop for your car buying needs. You can analyze different makes and models of cars, search for new or used cars, apply for a car loan and find insurance - all from the convenience of your home at Automotive.
The Automotive website stands out as a well organized and informative resource for all of your car buying needs. We liked the layout and easy to find resources such as car maintenance, car reviews, estimating the retail value of cars and so much more.
One of the other helpful resources at Automotive is their free auto loan quote. The application process is very straightforward:
Automotive's nationwide database of lenders is said to work with all credit scores and situations. We also found that the approval process was fast and efficient but that may vary on more challenging situations.
We liked the Automotive website and found it educational and informative as well as easy to navigate. We would have liked more history and an available Better Business Bureau rating but still found the website a solid choice for your car loan needs.
Auto Credit Express works with car dealerships and customers alike to provide special financing for those with a history of slow pay, repossession, and bankruptcy. They specialize in special circumstance loans and since 1999 have issued over $1 billion dollars in bad credit car loans. Auto Credit Express holds an A+ Better Business Bureau rating.
Financing a new or used car at Auto Credit Express is simple and only takes 30 seconds for the initial pre-qualify process. Before purchasing a car, Auto Credit Express allows the consumer to identify what they qualify for - quick and simple.
The website is very forthcoming and helps educate the car buyer with a number of helpful resources such as a bad credit FAQ, loan calculators, credit profiles, credit score check, information on credit repair, and more. Auto Credit Express also has a relationship with iMotors to help you in your new or used car search.
If you in the market for a new or used car, and a shaky credit history is slowing you down, then Auto Credit Express should be your first stop. We especially liked the quick and easy qualification process and well as the helpful calculators and educational articles.
OneMain Financial is a big name in the consumer loan market, which includes auto loans. They've been in business since 1920 and have earned an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
OneMain earns high marks for their reliable history and their current BBB rating. However, they miss the mark with website friendliness and functionality. Their current loan interest rates and fees are difficult to find within their website, making it hard to determine whether OneMain Financial is worth your consideration. Customers have to talk with a customer service representatives at OneMain to identify the basic information that most companies are willing to provide right on their website.
We found that borrower feedback of loan experiences at OneMain frequently included high interest rates, confusing fees, and mandatory loan insurance. Some customers reported a 25%-38% loan rate, even before additional fees were added in.
OneMain appears strong and solvent, so we feel it is a legitimate lending source. On the plus side, OneMain will lend money to people searching for an auto loan with low credit ratings and/or no collateral. However, the cost seems to be high interest rates and questionable customer service. Our concerns centered around the cost associated with borrowing money for a car loan from OneMain.
iLoan aims to make the borrowing process simple and transparent. They do not have any loans that are specifically for buying a car; rather, applicants take out a personal loan that can be used for whatever they need. These loans do have a maximum amount of $25,000, so keep that in mind if you're looking for financing for a vehicle that costs more.
All loans funded by iLoan are backed by their parent company, OneMain. OneMain has an excellent reputation spanning more than 100 years and is an accredited, A+-rated business with the BBB.
iLoan is true to its commitment of making the borrowing process easy and open. To start, you'll need to select the purpose of your loan (most likely "other", since "auto loan" isn't one of the options in the dropdown box) and the desired amount. From there, you'll be asked to provide your personal information: name, proof of residence, income, and identity, and bank account details. iLoan also has a free service called Instant Verification: if you grant them secured access to your bank account, they can verify your income that way instead of asking for pay stubs or W2s. This may speed up the processing of your auto loan application, though most iLoan borrowers report that their applications are processed in an hour or less, with funding being completed on the next business day.
Independent customer reviews do confirm that iLoan processes loans quickly, and many people seem grateful to have found a lender that will give them the money they need. They also have many compliments for iLoan's customer service representatives: "patient", "knowledgeable", and "helpful" are the most-used words to describe them.
On the other hand, interest rates at iLoan tend to be much higher than other lenders'. We do appreciate that the company is very upfront with their rates, which range from 11.24% to 36.00%. Your auto loan offer, including the interest rate and other terms, will depend on your particular borrower profile, such as your credit history and monthly income.
iLoan also comes up short when it comes to their service area: at the time of our review, they were only operating in 12 states (Alabama, California, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, and Wisconsin). Unless you live in one of those states, iLoan won't be able to provide you with an auto loan.
While we appreciate iLoan's reputation (through OneMain), it's not quite enough to make up for high interest rates and a service area that only covers a fourth of the United States. For customers needing an auto loan, chances are good that they'll find better rates with one of the higher-ranked lenders in our review.
USAA or United Services Automobile Association was founded in 1922. Today the company provides car loans, insurance, retirement, banking services and more to those that have served in the military, as well as, their families. Approximately 10 USAA locations exist in the US for walk-in services.
The USAA website lacks easy navigation and we found ourselves disappointed with the layout. The application process for a loan is also a bit cumbersome. To apply for a loan you must first create an account. Next you input contact information, military identification, social security and more. The approval process occurs via email which may or may not be instant.
USAA also works with specific dealerships to expedite the complete process. The downside to their effort is that they had very few cars and dealerships in their database that were located to several major cities. Another concern was the BBB rating. Our Better Business Bureau search found several customer complaints with USAA - with the biggest issue being slow resolution response.
Overall, USAA limits clients to military only and while the rates may benefit those that have served our country, the application process was a bit tedious. Customer complaints with the BBB were also numerous and brought some concern. We would like to see some improvements at the USAA website as well as with their customer service.
Instant Car Loan is an auto loan website catering to customers of all credit types. Good or bad, those with repossessions or past bankruptcies, and first time buyers can find the best auto loans with Instant Car Loan. Instant Car Loan takes the role of a middle-man in the auto loan process. They provide the functionality to easily assist customers who are looking for the best auto loan they qualify for. Instant Car Loan has strategic partnerships with hundreds of the top dealers in the country so no matter where you are located, they've got you covered.
Instant Car Loan has been getting customers safe and trusted auto loans for more than ten years, and are currently helping more than 35,000 people per month get auto financing. No application or processing fees are associated with this service and some customers qualify for financing with zero down. Instant Car Loan has a no obligation 2-step application process:
At the time of review Instant Car Loan website claimed to have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Upon researching this we found both Instant Car Loan and its parent company to be unaccredited with the BBB.
Instant Car Loan has an easy and efficient model for connecting car shoppers with financing options, but the fact that there is a discrepancy with the BBB rating, whether it is an honest mistake or blatant false claim, compels us to give them a lower ranking.
Web2Carz is an Illinois based company, in business since 2006, that provides a frantic website. This online magazine of sorts covers various topics such as cars, people, food, travel and more. A subset of Web2Carz is a database to find new or used cars as well as car loans. The website attempts to awkwardly satisfy a certain population segment with all of their needs - we felt the auto loan process was confusing and frustrating.
Despite being in business for several years we found a number of website glitches at Web2Carz that made our auto loan shopping experience inefficient. Buttons that were supposed to allow for selection were locked and we were stuck with no where to go.
The application process is said to match your auto loans with a number of lenders but gives off a sort of hokey appearance. To start the application process you may input your zip code, select new, used or refinance loan, and your credit rating. Web2Carz says it works with all levels of credit and has a 99% acceptance rating. After updating your personal information you submit the request. If a lender is found they will contact you to directly but no time frame is provided.
Web2Carz is an unappealing website with broken navigation and an unfriendly car loan shopping experience. We would prefer to review loan offers online and not wait for a lender to contact us to hear what the best rate and terms are. We recommend you use a higher ranked auto loan company for your needs.
Finding an auto loan is no longer limited to what your current bank will offer or what the dealer brings to the table. You can take control of your next auto loan terms by shopping online for the best deal available. Several auto loan companies post the most competitive auto loan rates online to attract your business.
In today's economy, may people have less than perfect credit. Many companies offer car loans to those who have suffered bankruptcy, late payments or a low credit score. By researching and finding the best auto loan, you'll potentially save hundreds to thousands of dollars each year in payments and interest over other auto loans.
However, not all auto loan companies are the same. There can be wide differences in the features and auto loan terms that they offer.
Before you apply for your next auto loan, consider the following important factors:
TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Auto Loans available today. We hope these reviews help you find the most affordable loan available for you!
What You Should Know Before Getting An Auto Loan
Buying a new vehicle can either be an exciting experience, or one that stresses you to the max. For some people, it can even be a combination of the two. Sometimes people get caught up in the excitement of buying another vehicle, and find themselves being talked into more than they can reasonably afford. And once the deal is done, it's hard to undo it.
Rushing into buying a new or used vehicle is never a good idea. Unlike other investments, such as real estate, vehicles are a very poor investment. They begin to depreciate in value the minute they are driven off the dealer's lot, and continue to lose value for every year of ownership. However, for most people, vehicles are a necessity in order to get to work and other places they need to go. If you are lucky enough to live in an area with stellar public transportation, a vehicle is something you likely can do without. But for anyone living outside the reach of decent public modes of transport, a vehicle is a necessary evil.
Before buying any vehicle, whether new or used, shoppers should consider a few things.
First and foremost is to determine affordability. How much vehicle can you reasonably afford to own without going broke in the process? As a general rule, buyers should not spend more than 20 percent of their monthly income after taxes on a vehicle. If you are spending more than that, you risk overextending yourself financially and running the risk of ruining your credit report.
To estimate how much of a monthly payment you can afford, be sure to look at more than the purchase price of the vehicle. You must also factor in the interest rate, maintenance fees and insurance for the vehicle. All of these things should be considered under the 20-percent umbrella rule.
Consumers also should do some hefty research on the best way to secure financing if they are unable to cover the full cost of the vehicle's purchase price in cash. One of the best places to look for an auto loan is through online auto loan companies. Some of these businesses have access to a large number of loan companies and can automatically compare their auto loan rates, delivering only the best ones to you.
Some websites also provide a valuable tool when researching loans and interest rates. Consumers are able to use prediction software to plug in their local zip code and generate a list of the going interest rates in their area. Some online calculators also will take all of the factors involved in owning a vehicle - purchase price, insurance, maintenance and financing - and generate a monthly cost for you. It's always good to make use of these kinds of resources to be certain you're not overextending yourself financially.
Another place to look for an auto loan is with your own financial institution. Having a solid financial history with a bank can help to secure a good deal. With longstanding customers, a bank may be able to negotiate a fair interest rate for you, and certainly better than what you could find through the car dealer.
Securing a loan through the auto dealer is usually not the best idea. It usually is the most expensive option when it comes to financing. While auto dealers may have a variety of financial institutions to tap in order to get a variety of interest rates and offers, they also are permitted to add up to a 3-percent fee on to the total in order to compensate themselves for securing the loan. So as a general rule, auto dealers should be the last place you look for a loan.
