Auto Warranty in Massachusetts

Massachusetts MapMassachusetts drivers are finding that having an auto warranty may save them thousands of dollars. Auto warranties are somewhat like insurance; the buyer pays an annual or monthly fee to protect the car in the event of breakdowns or needed repairs. A deductible cost is required in every claim, and deductibles may be calculated on an incident basis or visit to the repair shop basis. If the breakdown is covered by the terms of the warranty, the auto warranty company pays for the cost of labor and parts for the vehicle. Many people have never needed to use their auto warranties; others have been grateful they have had them to save money when repairs were necessary.

Before purchasing an auto warranty, a buyer should check possible auto warranty businesses with the BBB. Any company that doesn't have at least an A- BBB rating should not be considered. In addition to checking the company's status online, a buyer should ask how long the company has been in business. Companies that have been in business for less than 10 years are often not experienced enough to handle claims quickly and easily. This could result in frustration on the part of the policyholder.

A buyer should also read the entire warranty before committing to buy. All auto warranties are different; some cover the engine only, while others have provisions for the transmission and the air-conditioning and any number of vehicle systems. Understanding the provisions of the warranty as well as reading the fine print will help the potential buyer know exactly what is covered and make a decision by comparing several similarly priced warranties.

Experts recommend shopping around and bargaining for the best rate. Most car owners are unaware that they can ask for a better deal than what is offered, but surveys show that most people who haggle are able to obtain the same policy at a lower price.

Finding an auto warranty is Massachusetts is not difficult; a car owner should do a little research before making the decision to buy.
