Auto Warranty in Minnesota

Minnesota MapDid you know that Minnesota drivers spend millions of dollars each year just to keep their vehicles on the roads? Unless a car owner has an auto warranty policy, the individual is responsible to pay the repair bill if they want to keep driving.

Auto warranties operate much like health insurance; a buyer chooses a policy, pays either monthly or annually for coverage, and in the event of a repair that is covered under the policy, pays a deductible before the rest of the expense is paid by the warranty company. Many people who have an auto warranty are frustrated with the warranty business when they find out that their repair is not covered. To alleviate this, a vehicle owner should read the auto warranty in its entirety before purchasing. This will help the individual understand what is and what is not covered under the warranty.

Before purchasing an auto warranty policy, the buyer should check the business' rating with the BBB. The BBB requires all accredited businesses to abide by specific standards of conduct in business transactions. Auto warranty companies are required to be responsive, addressing marketplace disputes quickly and professionally. The business is also required to honor promises. In the case of auto warranty providers, this means abiding by all written agreements and verbal representations. Any business with a rating of less than A- should not be considered.

A potential buyer should also ask how long the company has been in business. As a general rule, experienced providers are still in business because they keep their customers happy. A new company may not be able to handle claims satisfactorily, and there is a greater risk of them closing their doors and leaving the policyholder with the repair bill. Companies should have been in business for at least ten years in order to be considered as a legitimate choice for the Minnesota resident looking for an auto warranty.

Auto warranties have provided peace of mind to many drivers when it comes to covering costly repairs.
