Auto Warranty in Nebraska

Nebraska MapThere are many different types of auto warranties available to Nebraskan vehicle owners. Some auto warranties cover the electrical components of the vehicle, while others provide roadside assistance in the event of a flat tire or a dead battery. For vehicles that are stranded on the side of the road, an extended auto warranty may even pay for a tow truck to come and get the vehicle, delivering it safely to the nearest licensed repair shop. There are as many different types of auto warranties as there are auto warranty companies.

Before making the decision to purchase an auto warranty, a vehicle owner needs to check the business' status with the BBB. Businesses with a rating lower than A- should not be considered. An individual should also ask the auto warranty company how many complaints have been made by customers in the last 36 months. More than 100 complaints in 3 years could be a bad sign. Any company who has received less than 50 complaints in that amount of time obviously strives to keep their customers happy. Although it is advisable to go directly to the business, also checking the company out with the BBB is the ultimate test when researching reputation.

In addition to checking for the legitimacy of the business with the BBB, a potential buyer should ask how claims are handled. If the company requires receipts of repair to be submitted before sending the customer a check, that means the policyholder will be responsible for paying the mechanic when repairs are completed on the vehicle. If the warranty company pays the mechanic directly and electronically, this is preferable as the policyholder will not be responsible for payment on the claim.

Drivers in Nebraska have a great number of options when it comes to choosing an auto warranty company. A little research can yield a reputable company who stands behind their agreements.
