Cost:

Prices for cribs range from $43.00 to just under $1,000.00

Return Policy:

Generous one-year policy for new and unused items.

James and Heather Bendle opened their business in 2003 with the goal of providing traditional and innovative baby items to families. The company was rebranded in 2008 as Baby Earth, with the physical store located in Austin, Texas. They boast an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are also a Google Trusted Store.

The website is very user-friendly and overall, easy to navigate. You can narrow your search by selecting what brand and type of crib you'd prefer. Once you click on a specific crib, the website navigates to a page with a larger photo of the item and more information. If you're searching for a great deal, then you might want to check out their "Hot Deals," where you will find all of Baby Earth's current discounted products.

The best aspect of Baby Earth is their customer service. Any order over $99.00 is eligible for free shipping. Thus, if you're purchasing a crib, you're more than likely not going to pay for the item to be delivered to your home. They do also offer same-day delivery for orders in the Austin, Texas area.

Overall, we were very impressed with how efficiently this company operates. However, we did find the look of the website to be a bit clunky. The items look crunched together. Our only suggestion to this company would be to streamline their homepage, perhaps using larger fonts and grouping their inventory into categories rather than posting small photos of every crib they have. Such changes would be easier on their shoppers' eyes.

On the strength of their impeccable service, we give Baby Earth high marks. We hope they will improve some of the elements of their website to provide a less overwhelming first impression.

ABaby first launched its online presence in 1998. Since then, they have established themselves as one of the few online retailers who can provide custom baby furniture. They boast an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and offer a "safe shop guarantee" on their products.

We were particularly impressed with the wide range of style and material choices. Here are some of the many types of cribs customers can choose from:

  • Classic
  • Iron
  • Modern
  • Designer
  • Convertible
  • Portable
  • Round
  • Spindle
  • Panel

For more information regarding any specific crib, simply click on the item's picture and you will find out the price, shipping surcharge, and other product details. You can also read customer reviews about the item. If you aren't sure what you want, this search feature allows you to consider all aspects of any item before making a purchase.

We are big fans of the "how to" articles. In addition to a helpful search engine, this site also provides tips on "[how] to select a crib," which is an article reviewing latest crib trends. You can also learn more about nursery design tips and current federal safety guidelines.

Regarding customer service, you can contact ABaby via phone, fax, email, or through regular mail. However, we did find unflattering reviews on other sites. Most the customers complained that they waited an unreasonable amount of time before finally receiving their order. We strongly recommend that you verify if an item is in stock and available for immediate shipment before making a purchase.

We found this site to be very user-friendly. Information is readily available, and we had no problem finding answers to any questions. If it weren't for the poor reviews on other sites, we would have given ABaby a higher rating. We hope they will work to improve their customer service and their overall reputation.
