Wayfair is a great place to buy your next baby crib. First off, Wayfair is a well-known online store, offering a huge selection of products. With a sound reputation and over 15 years of experience, it's no surprise that they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The site is professional and polished, with features that make shopping easy. When it comes to baby cribs, you'll find a range of brand names, including the following:
All told, Wayfair offers over 400 baby cribs for you to choose from. While this sounds like an exhausting number to look through, Wayfair actually makes it easy to find just the baby crib that you're looking for. They do this by providing a wealth of search filters to narrow down your selection. These include:
Under each baby crib in your search results, you'll find a star ranking. This is very useful and leads to hands-on reviews from customers who have experience with each particular baby crib.
Regarding customer service, we found over 2,000 positive reviews praising Wayfair's award-winning customer service team. Moreover, Wayfair has earned other top honrs, including an award for Internet Retailer of the Year and the Stevie Award for the best customer service department. If you're a new customer to Wayfair, you should be able to rest at ease, knowing that you will be treated with respect and receive your orders in a timely fashion.
Overall, Wayfair sets the standard when it comes to buying a baby crib. The site is user-friendly and easy to navigate, with a large selection of baby cribs to choose from. Prices are very competitive, and their customer service team is top notch. Wayfair earns 5 stars and our recommendation as the best baby crib store available today.
Nurzery is based in Los Angeles and offers a wide variety of baby products. Since 2008, the Nurzery team has worked to combine excellent service with high-quality products.
The site has a professional look with a modern, streamlined vibe. Customers with smaller budgets will appreciate the plethora of discounted brand names. For example, an AFG All-In-One Convertible Crib with Changing Station, which would normally retail for $559.00, is posted on this site for $359.00. That's a $200.00 savings. Such discounts are readily available for families preparing for the arrival of a child.
While the site does not allow more sophisticated search functions, such as selecting colors, it does allow you to sort all items in the following ways:
The site is geared toward practical shoppers who want the most for their money. If you are new to crib shopping, this is the site for you.
We were equally impressed with their customer satisfaction. Nurzery is committed to resolving any issues customers have with their products. They have specific instructions on how to handle returns and damaged items. Moreover, all orders over $50.00 receive free shipping. And they promise no hassles if you aren't satisfied and want your money back. We found many reviews on other sites confirming this promise. The majority of reviews praised the site for efficient and prompt service.
Overall, we highly recommend shopping at Nurzery. You will find great deals with wonderful service. Our only suggestion to this site would be to upgrade their search features, allowing customers to narrow their search options by color and style. But with what they've accomplished in the nine years of being in business, we expect they will only continue to get better.
James and Heather Bendle opened their business in 2003 with the goal of providing traditional and innovative baby items to families. The company was rebranded in 2008 as Baby Earth, with the physical store located in Austin, Texas. They boast an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are also a Google Trusted Store.
The website is very user-friendly and overall, easy to navigate. You can narrow your search by selecting what brand and type of crib you'd prefer. Once you click on a specific crib, the website navigates to a page with a larger photo of the item and more information. If you're searching for a great deal, then you might want to check out their "Hot Deals," where you will find all of Baby Earth's current discounted products.
The best aspect of Baby Earth is their customer service. Any order over $99.00 is eligible for free shipping. Thus, if you're purchasing a crib, you're more than likely not going to pay for the item to be delivered to your home. They do also offer same-day delivery for orders in the Austin, Texas area.
Overall, we were very impressed with how efficiently this company operates. However, we did find the look of the website to be a bit clunky. The items look crunched together. Our only suggestion to this company would be to streamline their homepage, perhaps using larger fonts and grouping their inventory into categories rather than posting small photos of every crib they have. Such changes would be easier on their shoppers' eyes.
On the strength of their impeccable service, we give Baby Earth high marks. We hope they will improve some of the elements of their website to provide a less overwhelming first impression.
Babies R Us is part of the Toys R Us business family, who by itself has over 30 years of experience in the industry. They have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and offer exceptional service.
The site sports a fun vibe-a definite plus for expecting parents shopping for their child. They offer a wide selection of brands, including the following names:
For your convenience, they also list how many items they have in stock from each brand, which will save customers time if they are looking for an entire nursery collection.
Regarding cribs, they have large, organized inventory, which makes selecting an item within a certain budget very easy. You can narrow your search down by utilizing the many search features offered, allowing you to shop by color, brand, or type of crib. They also have a price range category, and unlike other sites, they also offer layaway plans and regular discounts. If you want an item that's a little more than you planned on spending, you can plan accordingly to make the purchase a reality.
One of the most impressive features of Babies R Us is their return policy. For convenience, they allow customers to return online purchases to the nearest store location. Additionally, if you prefer to use the website to process your return, you can use their "Pre-paid Shipping Label" service to ship your item back. You have 90-days to return your item.
As far as customer service, we found several positive reviews on other sites. Most reviews praised the company for excellent service and prompt attention to satisfying customer needs. Even employees who posted reviews stated what a nice environment this company provides.
Overall, the site is clear and concise. With such great buying options and a generous return policy, we can recommend this trusted site to anyone looking for a crib.
ABaby first launched its online presence in 1998. Since then, they have established themselves as one of the few online retailers who can provide custom baby furniture. They boast an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and offer a "safe shop guarantee" on their products.
We were particularly impressed with the wide range of style and material choices. Here are some of the many types of cribs customers can choose from:
For more information regarding any specific crib, simply click on the item's picture and you will find out the price, shipping surcharge, and other product details. You can also read customer reviews about the item. If you aren't sure what you want, this search feature allows you to consider all aspects of any item before making a purchase.
We are big fans of the "how to" articles. In addition to a helpful search engine, this site also provides tips on "[how] to select a crib," which is an article reviewing latest crib trends. You can also learn more about nursery design tips and current federal safety guidelines.
Regarding customer service, you can contact ABaby via phone, fax, email, or through regular mail. However, we did find unflattering reviews on other sites. Most the customers complained that they waited an unreasonable amount of time before finally receiving their order. We strongly recommend that you verify if an item is in stock and available for immediate shipment before making a purchase.
We found this site to be very user-friendly. Information is readily available, and we had no problem finding answers to any questions. If it weren't for the poor reviews on other sites, we would have given ABaby a higher rating. We hope they will work to improve their customer service and their overall reputation.
Buy Buy Baby has a well-established reputation for providing quality baby products at competitive retail prices. They offer over ten years of experience and have a satisfying inventory, with over 100 physical locations in addition to their online store.
Easy to navigate and user-friendly, we easily found information and answers to any question on the site. We especially appreciated other shopping tools such as the videos and glossary of terms. Any new customer can utilize these helpful guides to learn more about what they are buying.
The site provides a useful search-engine, enabling customers to narrow down their selection. Here are some of sorting categories:
You can narrow your search even further by selecting what kind of crib you are looking to buy. They carry standard, convertible, miniature, and crib combos. Purchases over $49.00 qualify for free shipping. And unlike other online stores, Buy Buy Baby ships to Alaska and Hawaii.
Regarding customer service, most customers will appreciate the generous one-year return policy offered for unused items. This information is especially helpful if one is returning a gift. We do recommend, however, specifying with customer service representatives that you want store credit for the return just in case they refund the gift-giver's card. If that happens, you'll have no way to replace the returned item.
Overall, while they don't have the biggest inventory we've seen, Buy Buy Baby is a solid choice if you're hoping to purchase a crib. With a helpful staff and competitive prices, consumers can feel confident when they buy any item from this online store.
Crate & Barrel was founded in 1962 with the goal to bring simple, beautiful-yet-practical housewares to the US, originally sold in an old elevator factory in Chicago. Of course, their reach now extends to almost 90 retail locations throughout the US and Canada, in addition to their online storefront that includes home goods for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and much more. You'll find their selection of baby cribs under their Crate&kids heading.
You won't see a wide range of brands or crib styles when shopping at this store: Babyletto, Jenny Lind, Ever Simple, Taylor, and Hampshire - some designer names, and some collections specific to Crate & Barrel - are about all you'll find. Pricing was also somewhere in the middle, compared with other retailers: nothing on the super-economical side, but nothing on the luxury/designer end of the spectrum either, with prices starting at $399 and going up to just under $800. Expect to pay shipping fees of $99 on your crib purchase.
Crate & Barrel doesn't offer any options for sorting through their available baby cribs and bassinets - but with a selection limited to just 21 cribs and 4 bassinets, it shouldn't take you too much time to browse what they have. We still would have liked an easier way to shop by price, color, or features, rather than having to scroll through the page.
One plus that won't jump out at you, but that might make the difference between "add to cart" and leaving the site: if you prefer to buy products made in America, be sure to check out the Andersen line. It may be one of the only cribs still available on the market - both at Crate & Barrel and other sites - that isn't made elsewhere.
Keep an eye out for pop-ups: when we shopped the Crate & Barrel site, we got an offer for a 10% discount if we entered our email address. But, the fine print said that it was only valid on full-price items and excluded furniture, so you might only be able to use it on nursery accessories or other home decor purchases and not the crib itself.
Crate & Barrel's return policy is average. If you want to return your baby crib, you must contact them within 7 days of delivery and return it within 30 days of delivery as well. If the crib is not in good condition or it's received outside Crate & Barrel's specified timeframe, expect restocking fees of at least 25%.
So, how does Crate & Barrel measure up when it comes to customer service? On the one hand, the company has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, as you'd expect from a major brand that's been in business for more than five decades. On the other, we found more than a few customer reviews that had very negative things to say about the experience, particularly with delivery of large items like furniture. Late shipments or orders that went completely undelivered, slow responses from customer service representatives, and an overall unpleasant experience with Crate & Barrel's delivery service are the most common complaints we found.
Let's put it this way: buying a crib from Crate & Barrel may very well have you sleeping like a baby. The question is, will that be a peaceful, all-night-long experience or more like babies actually sleep - up every few hours, cranky, and restless? It may be a little of both. If you like the style of Crate & Barrel you might find a crib that's just for your child but be prepared for potential delays and frustration.
Posh Tots has been in operation for 13 years. As a new mother, owner Andrea Edmunds opened her business because she was unable to find what she wanted for her baby's nursery. She has been on television shows such as Good Morning America to discuss her work. She has designed nurseries for many celebrities.
Her company specializes in upscale nursery items, especially custom furniture and bedding. According to the site, their items have appeared in several well-known publications such as People and In-Touch. However, they are not registered with the Better Business Bureau. We also found over 75 complaints against this company. The majority of these complaints were from people who waited for orders that never arrived.
The site is neat and user-friendly, with information readily available. We learned the difference between various crib styles. Convertible cribs can be used as a crib, a toddler bed, or a twin bed. Sleigh cribs are considered more stylish. And Iron cribs display crib bedding the best.
We found a variety of brand names and styles. You can sort their inventory depending on what's most important to you. For example, are you looking for something less expensive? Then you might want to set your search to look "Least Expensive" marked items. Unlike other sites, they offer you a "Quick Ship" category, meaning if you purchase the item, it will ship within in 2-3 business days. However, most "Quick Ship" items are over $500.00.
Unfortunately, while the information is there, the font is tiny and very hard on one's eyes. If you don't have time to scroll through and read all the paragraphs, you might want to shop somewhere else. Moreover, the site is very specific about what it will and will not accept back. There are fees even if you simply want to cancel your order.
Overall, this website is for the upscale shopper with a large budget. For those who need design ideas for their nursery, this is a good place to start. But once you find your ideas, due to soaring prices and poor customer service issues, we recommend purchasing your items from another site.
The Baby Cubby offers "the best of everything baby", from gear to clothes and more. Their goal is to help parents feel special and supported every step of the way, and to provide a shopping experience that is fun, relaxing, and helpful.
Baby Cubby has an extremely small selection of cribs: three brands and five total models to choose from, ranging in price from $260 to $829. If you'd like to save some money, keep an eye out for any pop-ups that appear on the screen: at the time of our review, there was an offer of a 10% discount for signing up for the Baby Cubby email newsletter. And, if one of the five cribs they offer is being sold at a lower price somewhere else, you can request a price match either before or after you place your order on Baby Cubby.
Baby Cubby's return policy is average: unopened, unused items can be returned within 30 days of purchase and require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number obtained by calling the customer service number.
We found several typos on the Baby Cubby site, leading us to wonder about the professionalism of the business. For example, the return policy page references Seven Seas Aquariums - which has nothing to do with baby products. That page, along with a few others, also had missing words and punctuation as if it had been copied and pasted from another website. Also, the phone number listed for Baby Cubby's customer service was tied to a pet store and fishing nets business in Utah, further leaving us with questions as to the reputability of the retailer.
On a more positive note, however, the comments on the Baby Cubby Facebook page are extremely satisfied with both the Baby Cubby website and their retail location (which does happen to be in Utah); shoppers praise their customer service, variety of baby products, and overall shopping experience.
When it comes to baby cribs, most customers are likely to find what they're looking for with one of the better-stocked retailers in our review. In the future, we'd love to see Baby Cubby offer a wider range of cribs in both brand and price, and to fix some of the question marks with respect to their website.
Albee Baby began after Alexander Weintraub decided to change his bicycle repair shop's focus to servicing baby carriages. Since 1933, Albee has focused on providing quality baby items to growing families. At the time of this review, they held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The website is sleek and nicely organized. Albee offers the following styles of cribs:
New customers will have no problem navigating through the site to search for products. However, our main issue with Albee is their lack of inventory. For example, we were interested in learning more about Institutional cribs. Unfortunately, there is no information about this crib, which left us wondering why the company would post it on their site.
Moreover, there were quite a few items listed as "out of stock." Such limited selection might be off-putting to customers who might be searching for matching nursery furniture. We recommend calling them directly to find out about any item you might want to purchase.
As far as customer service goes, we found several reviews giving high marks, especially from consumers who visited Albee's physical store in New York (The store even wraps gifts for free). Reviews for online service is another story. We found a considerable amount of complaints from people who purchased items online. Many were unhappy with how representatives spoke to them and by how long it took to resolve issues.
If we were only reviewing the company, Albee would do very well. However, as we are reviewing their online presence, we have to give them lower marks. We hope they will work to improve their website inventory and online customer service.
