At the top of every new parent's wish list is a baby stroller. From the most basic umbrella-type model that allows for easy traveling, to jogging styles that can help Mom and Dad to get (back) into shape, having the right baby stroller can be a life-saver.

Gone are the days of the bulky carriage - though you can still find those if you like the classic look. Today's baby strollers can be as sleek and functional as you could possibly want, with travel systems that allow you to snap your baby's car seat right into the frame, accessories like cup holders (for baby and for Mom!) sun shades, and even organizers to keep your diapers, wipes, and snacks all in the right place.

With a tagline proclaiming "Only the best for Baby!" it's no surprise that aBaby specializes in high-end, customized items for infants and children. While they primarily sell one-of-a-kind furniture for the nursery, aBaby does carry just over a dozen strollers.

Finding those strollers may be a challenge. Unlike most of the stores we reviewed, aBaby does not have a link anywhere in the navigation bar to take you directly to their available strollers. Instead, you'll need to search by keyword to see what they have to offer.

We were not overly impressed with aBaby's selection. Their available brands are extremely limited - no Graco travel system or Peg Perego umbrella stroller, like the ones we used to compare prices with other retailers. In fact, we couldn't find a single model that would allow for a parent to use it with a car seat, either as part of a travel system or with a snap-in feature. There was also only one stroller that could accommodate more than one child at a time: the six-passenger buggy often used by day care facilities. With such a limited selection, it was difficult to compare aBaby's prices with other stores.

On a more positive note, all but two of aBaby's strollers ship for free, saving you some money.

aBaby's return policy is fairly standard: customers can return strollers for a refund or exchange within 30 days of receipt. Shipping costs are non-refundable, and you'll have to pay the shipping costs on any returns. There is a 15% restocking fee on larger items, so you'll want to check the specific stroller you'd like to buy to see if it is big enough to have that fee.

Looking at customer satisfaction, aBaby's results vary widely. We're impressed with their A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau for the greater New York City area, and nearly 100 reviews on aBaby's site show five-star feedback from happy shoppers. However, reviews on other sites describe significant issues with customer service. Some shoppers waited months for their product to be delivered, and in some instances the order never shipped at all. Other customers said that it was a hassle to get a refund without being charged a restocking fee, even on smaller purchases.

While we appreciate aBaby's strong reputation with the BBB and free shipping on most strollers, their small selection and issues with delivery might leave many customers looking elsewhere.

If you're looking for a glitzy stroller website with lots of bells and whistles, you won't find it at My Strollers. On the other hand, if you want a wide selection of strollers to choose from, including those that are made for older children and adults with special needs, you should be sure to check out what My Strollers has to offer.

On the main strollers page, you can sort by category, price, or brand name by using the drop-down box in the upper right part of the page; you can also use the left-hand navigation to filter results by category, price range, or manufacturer. This felt a bit more clunky compared to some of My Stroller's competitors, which usually had a shopping guide or tool to help customers get a better feel for their needs.

Although they didn't carry the Graco travel system we used for our basis of comparison in our review, My Strollers did have the Peg Perego umbrella-style model in all of the colors available on the market. It shared the lowest price with several other retailers we considered. We also found that MyStrollers carries an impressive range of brands, including high-end names like UPPAbaby and Inglesina, and better-known manufacturers like Chicco and Britax.

One definite cause for concern is My Strollers' reputation. While they didn't have a grade/rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, we did see that the BBB had revoked MyStrollers' accreditation for not responding promptly to customer complaints. We then found numerous examples of such complaints, especially from parents who ordered strollers for special-needs children and waited more than two months for the product to be delivered - only to be told that the order was cancelled, with no refund returned to their PayPal or credit card account. In fact, positive reviews for My Strollers were hard to come by.

While we were hopeful that My Strollers would be an excellent resource for customers looking for strollers, we feel that most shoppers stand a good chance of being disappointed by this retailer's lack of attention to quality customer service.

On the other hand, finding that perfect stroller at your local store isn't always easy; most brick-and-mortar stores carry a limited range of styles and brands, making it necessary to drive from one end of town to the other to get the model you want. And, if you're a parent of a child with special needs - or of twins, triplets, and more! - it can be even more challenging to find the specialty stroller you're looking for.

Fortunately, online shopping has simplified the entire process, with numerous brands, styles, and prices just a mouse click away. Many retailers will sweeten your stroller deal by including free shipping or store rewards, especially on the more expensive models. If you're shopping for a friend or family member, most online stores have gift registries, ensuring that you get the exact model your recipient wants.

With so many stores competing for your attention, how can you know where to buy your stroller? As you look at what each online retailer has to offer, keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Prices. Compared with other stores selling strollers, are the prices competitive? Is there a price match guarantee if you find a lower price somewhere else? Will your stroller ship for free?
  • Selection. Does the store offer a wide variety of strollers to choose from?
  • Customer Service. Do other shoppers have positive things to say about the help received from the retailer's customer service representatives? Is it easy to contact the store with any questions or concerns?
  • Return Policy. Can you return the stroller if, for some reason, it doesn't meet your expectations? If so, will there be a restocking fee? has reviewed and ranked the best Stroller stores available today. We hope these reviews help you and your little one get rolling along smoothly and safely!
