Baby Cubby vs My Strollers

At the top of every new parentís wish list is a baby stroller. From the most basic umbrella-type model that allows for easy traveling, to jogging styles that can help Mom and Dad to get (back) into shape, having the right baby stroller can be a life-saver.

Gone are the days of the bulky carriage - though you can still find those if you like the classic look. Todayís baby strollers can be as sleek and functional as you could possibly want, with travel systems that allow you to snap your babyís car seat right into the frame, accessories like cup holders (for baby and for Mom!) sun shades, and even organizers to keep your diapers, wipes, and snacks all in the right place.

Baby Cubby

BABY CUBBY Visit Site

Offering "the best of everything baby", Baby Cubby has a good selection of baby gear, including cribs, clothing, and more. They aim to help parents feel supported throughout the journey of welcoming a new baby into the family and to feature only the best products on the market.

Using the Baby Cubby site to find a stroller is relatively easy. If you already have a particular brand or style in mind, the search box is at the top right side of the page. Otherwise, use the left-hand navigation to choose the options you need:

  • Single Strollers
  • Double & Triple
  • Jogging
  • Lightweight
  • Stroller Accessories

You can further sort the results by category, price, brand, color, and so forth. There are more than 100 strollers to choose from in Baby Cubby's selection.

You'll find that Baby Cubby's brand selection is somewhat limited to higher-end names like UPPAbaby and Stokke; we did not find the Graco or Peg Perego models used to compare prices and selection among the retailers we reviewed. However, we did find their prices to be very competitive on the brands they do carry; Baby Cubby's prices were always the same as or better than what we found on other stores' sites.

For further savings, look for special offers: at the time of our review, there was a 10% discount for new customers who signed up for the Baby Cubby email newsletter. Baby Cubby also offers a price match guarantee if you should find the stroller you want at a lower price; you can either call the customer service number before making your purchase, and they'll process your order over the phone at the lower price, or you can make the request after you've already ordered. It's up to you. Also, shipping is free at Baby Cubby, which could save you money over other stores.

Baby Cubby's return policy is fairly typical: unopened, unused items can be returned within 30 days of purchase and require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. You'll need to call Baby Cubby in advance to get the RMA before making your request for a refund.

Baby Cubby doesn't seem to have been around too long: most of the reviews we could find were written starting in 2016, and there was no Better Business Bureau listing for either the website or the retail location in Utah. We did find lots of positive comments on Baby Cubby's Facebook page, praising the quality of the items sold (both online and brick-and-mortar), the personalized customer service, and the overall shopping experience.

Our own experience with the Baby Cubby website was less than excellent. Many pages have typos, missing words and punctuation. We also found it strange that the return policy page makes mention of a business called Seven Seas Aquariums, and the phone number given for Baby Cubby's returns department is also the number for a Utah fishing nets business and pet store.

On the whole, Baby Cubby looks like a reasonable place to buy your baby stroller, especially if you find the model you want at the lowest available price. Free shipping is a definite plus, and it seems that hundreds of people have had good experiences as a customer of this retailer. We hope that, as they get more established as a business, Baby Cubby will pay a similar amount of attention to detail on their website, so that online shoppers can better trust that they are a reputable store for baby strollers.

My Strollers

MY STROLLERS Visit Site

If you're looking for a glitzy stroller website with lots of bells and whistles, you won't find it at My Strollers. On the other hand, if you want a wide selection of strollers to choose from, including those that are made for older children and adults with special needs, you should be sure to check out what My Strollers has to offer.

On the main strollers page, you can sort by category, price, or brand name by using the drop-down box in the upper right part of the page; you can also use the left-hand navigation to filter results by category, price range, or manufacturer. This felt a bit more clunky compared to some of My Stroller's competitors, which usually had a shopping guide or tool to help customers get a better feel for their needs.

Although they didn't carry the Graco travel system we used for our basis of comparison in our review, My Strollers did have the Peg Perego umbrella-style model in all of the colors available on the market. It shared the lowest price with several other retailers we considered. We also found that MyStrollers carries an impressive range of brands, including high-end names like UPPAbaby and Inglesina, and better-known manufacturers like Chicco and Britax.

One definite cause for concern is My Strollers' reputation. While they didn't have a grade/rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of our review, we did see that the BBB had revoked MyStrollers' accreditation for not responding promptly to customer complaints. We then found numerous examples of such complaints, especially from parents who ordered strollers for special-needs children and waited more than two months for the product to be delivered - only to be told that the order was cancelled, with no refund returned to their PayPal or credit card account. In fact, positive reviews for My Strollers were hard to come by.

While we were hopeful that My Strollers would be an excellent resource for customers looking for strollers, we feel that most shoppers stand a good chance of being disappointed by this retailer's lack of attention to quality customer service.

Continued from above

On the other hand, finding that perfect stroller at your local store isn't always easy; most brick-and-mortar stores carry a limited range of styles and brands, making it necessary to drive from one end of town to the other to get the model you want. And, if you're a parent of a child with special needs - or of twins, triplets, and more! - it can be even more challenging to find the specialty stroller you're looking for.

Fortunately, online shopping has simplified the entire process, with numerous brands, styles, and prices just a mouse click away. Many retailers will sweeten your stroller deal by including free shipping or store rewards, especially on the more expensive models. If you're shopping for a friend or family member, most online stores have gift registries, ensuring that you get the exact model your recipient wants.

With so many stores competing for your attention, how can you know where to buy your stroller? As you look at what each online retailer has to offer, keep the following criteria in mind:

  • Prices. Compared with other stores selling strollers, are the prices competitive? Is there a price match guarantee if you find a lower price somewhere else? Will your stroller ship for free?
  • Selection. Does the store offer a wide variety of strollers to choose from?
  • Customer Service. Do other shoppers have positive things to say about the help received from the retailer's customer service representatives? Is it easy to contact the store with any questions or concerns?
  • Return Policy. Can you return the stroller if, for some reason, it doesn't meet your expectations? If so, will there be a restocking fee?
