Babysitter Agencies

Where is the best place to find a babysitter for your children? These days, kids and parents are busier than ever. Finding a reliable babysitter to fit your schedule is tricky.

Sittercity is a reliable option for families looking for affordable babysitters, pet sitters, nannies, or senior care. It is easy to browse babysitters on their website and quickly gather information to make a decision as to whether or not to interview a potential candidate. There are many babysitters throughout the United States that use Sittercity to find jobs, so families should be able to view quite a few candidates in their area that they could hire. Sittercity has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, and they easily earn our highest rating for babysitting agencies.

Bambino is an app that helps families find babysitters nearby that have been recommended by friends and other community members. There are many qualified candidates available throughout the United States who have undergone a thorough vetting process. People who have used Bambino to find a babysitter have great things to say about the process and the candidates they have hired. We highly recommend using the Bambino app to find local babysitters!

Care helps families find individuals to assist with watching children, special needs family members, seniors, and pets. They also have candidates for hire to help with tutoring and housekeeping duties. The Care platform allows parents to post jobs to their site that babysitters can browse through and apply for. A subscription to Care's services ranges from $12.99/month to $38.99/month depending on the length of online access you'll be needing. However, recent customer issues have caused us to take a closer look.

Babysits is a service that helps parents find babysitting services. They aim to provide transparency between babysitters and families looking for caregivers. Unfortunately, background checks are not part of the hiring process here and we don't feel like there are as many candidates to choose from compared with competing companies. For better value and hiring safety standards, we recommend looking for a babysitter through a higher-rated site.

Bubble is a well-liked babysitting service app in the UK that helps parents find safe childcare for their families. Bubble has a background check process for all candidates who use their site and gives plenty of information to families to help them make a good decision on who to hire. However, since Bubble is only accessible in the UK, you won't be able to use their services or even browse their app if you are in the United States or elsewhere. Since this eliminates a lot of potential customers, Bubble has earned a low rating from us.

Founded in 2010, UrbanSitter is your basic babysitting service platform that shows a list of candidates near your location available to help with childcare. They don't have much more to offer families than their competitors. Their pricing is quite expensive, with few babysitters to choose from and an F rating from the Better Business Bureau. There are better options for finding childcare than going through UrbanSitter, so they have fallen towards the bottom of our list of recommendations.

Sitter is one of many companies run by CareGuide, a family of companies that connects individuals with services they need around the house, for their children, or to help manage their finances. Sitter is your basic, but fairly expensive, babysitting site without any unique bells and whistles. We can't find much about the background of this company and both parents and babysitters claim there are a lot of scammers that try to connect with them under false pretenses. We think families will be better off sticking with a higher-rated babysitting agency to find reliable care for their children.

Babysitter's Registry tries to help families find babysitters through their services as well as Care and Sittercity all in one place. Unfortunately, their company history as well as pricing are nowhere to be found on their site. Finding candidates for hire here is confusing because you are redirected to other babysitting agencies and the babysitters from Babysitter's Registry are impossible to get a hold of because they have broken links on their site. Save the hassle and skip over Babysitter's Registry when you're looking for someone to take care of your kids.

The teenager next door might seem like a convenient option for watching your kids, but they might be occupied with school, sports, and their social life, leaving you without the childcare you need. Thankfully there are many services that specialize in helping families find available babysitters in their local area for date nights, errands, work functions, or whatever the occasion may be.

These companies allow parents to browse their database of candidates to find a babysitter that matches the needs of the family. Some sitters specialize in working with infants, special needs children, or kids with behavioral issues. Seeing all the local caregivers in one place makes it easy to sort through them and find someone you trust.

Babysitting agencies vary in price, services, and ease of use. Ideally you'll want to find a service that has a professional website and is well-known by families and sitters alike. The more widely-recognized a babysitting agency is, the more likely you are to have plenty of candidates to choose from. As a parent, it's understandable that you will be picky when deciding who to trust in your home with your children, so being able to browse multiple babysitter profiles online is important.

Before using a babysitting agency to find someone to watch your children, we suggest you take the following things into consideration:

  • Company Reputation. What rating does the Better Business Bureau give the company? What do customer reviews say about the professionalism and reliability of the services offered?
  • Fees. What does it cost to browse and contact babysitters through the company's site? What is the going rate of the babysitters they provide?
  • Selection. Are there plenty of sitters to choose from on the site? Is there a range of babysitters based on age, schedule flexibility, and experience levels?
  • Background Checks. Are background checks run on all candidates? If not, is there an option to have them done before choosing to hire one of the babysitters?

To help you identify the best babysitter for your children, TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best babysitting agencies available today. We hope this information gives you confidence as you find someone to care for your little ones while you are away!
