What is the best way to learn to ballroom dance? Not only is ballroom dancing entertaining and beautiful to watch, but it is a great way to exercise and anyone can do it! However, learning to dance in front of people at a class can be intimidating and uncomfortable. Not all of us are born graceful! Thankfully, there are convenient learn-from-home ballroom dance lesson options available to anyone that wants to tear up the dance floor.

Self-paced dance lessons are a great way to master your technique and skill, rather than trying to keep up with everyone else. With the convenience of video and instructional technology, you can pause, practice, and re-watch any part of your dance lesson until you feel comfortable moving forward. Without any risk of embarrassment, you can put your whole soul into learning to waltz, tango, or cha-cha while perfecting each movement along the way.

TopConsumerReviews.com Best-In-Class Blue Ribbon Award The six main ballroom dance styles are thoroughly covered through the Learn and Master ballroom classes. These dances include swing, foxtrot, waltz, cha cha, rumba, and tango. Ballroom instructors Jaimee Simon and Mark Short demonstrate each style of dance throughout the entire course. You can read their extensive bios on the Learn and Master website to learn that they are clearly experts in ballroom dancing. Their drive behind creating these courses was to help people comfortably learn a new skill they've always been interested in, but either never had the opportunity to learn or bravery to try.

The Learn and Master ballroom courses are designed completely for beginners. The classes are comprehensive in that they start out slow but gradually get more technical as each lesson builds on itself. In each video, Jaime and Mark demonstrate and explain the dance they are teaching, show the men's part of the dance, then the ladies' part, and bring it all together at the end for you to follow along.

By providing your email address and name through the website, you will receive the free "first steps to ballroom" email series. A professional coach will send dance tips straight to your inbox to boost your ballroom dance knowledge. To purchase the entire course, you pay $89. The cost can be divided into three or four payments through a payment plan, with a surcharge of $4 with each payment. A generous 60-day money back guarantee is in place if you are not satisfied with the product you receive. If you run into questions about the Learn and Master ballroom course during your shopping experience, you can chat online with a customer service representative or call their toll-free number.

Learn and Master is a great option for beginning ballroom students. The videos aren't modern, but they aren't so outdated that it's hard to watch them or feel like they are relevant. The price of the course is much less expensive than in-person lessons and students can go at their own pace and learn from the comfort of their homes individually or with friends and family. Learn and Master is thorough with everything offered, and is therefore our number one recommended course for prospective ballroom dancers.

iDance has one of the highest amounts of dance lessons available that we have found on the market. It may take some searching to find exactly what you are looking for. If you don't know where to begin with learning ballroom dance, this may not be the best place to start since they don't necessarily have "introduction to ballroom" classes or thorough explanations of all the genres for purchase. Each video is labeled with a level 1-5, so you know if you're in over your head before you buy, but again, you need to know what you are looking for in order to easily purchase dance lessons on this site.

There are 271 dance packs to choose from on the iDance site that fall under 21 different dance genres. Dance packs contain multiple lessons that fit into the same category, rather than purchasing all your videos individually. Each video lesson lasts 1 - 6 minutes. There are 71 dance instructors that will appear in the different videos you purchase. You can navigate to the biographies of all these instructors to see a picture of them, read about their accomplishments, and view a brief video clip that highlights their style.

To receive the videos you purchase through iDance, you create an account on their site. You can either save the videos just to this account for viewing, or download them onto your computer. Individual dance videos are $1.99 - $2.50. If you purchase dance packs, you get multiple lessons and the prices of these packs vary depending on how many lessons are included.

There are several other ways you can purchase videos on iDance. If you would like to see everything available on the site, you can get a one-day full access pass for $5.00. If you subscribe monthly for full site access, the cost is $8.00/month. Finally, you can pay for multiple months in advance or even get a lifetime pass for $299. However, be aware that there is nothing on the site that allows customers to ask for or receive a refund if they are unhappy with their ballroom dance instruction.

Since the dance lessons on iDance were created and uploaded at different times, some of the previews are very low quality and lack sound. iDance addresses this in their FAQ section by letting users know that their older videos will download with sound and higher-quality, regardless of how the preview looks. Some of the videos are quite old and outdated while others are newer and have recently been added to the site.

Overall, iDance has a wide range of options for dancers who are looking to better their skills in a certain type of dance. You can search by dance style, keyword, level, and the instructor you want. However, the site does not have a very professional user interface and doesn't provide customers with obvious options that will work for them right away. If you are looking to start ballroom dance lessons, we suggest using one of our higher-rated sites first before diving into iDance's sea of video clip dance lessons.

The ability to become a ballroom dance pro from home will save you a significant amount of money. Between traveling and consistent in-person dance lessons, your costs would add up! Instead, with a one-time purchase, you can learn and relearn almost everything you need to know to be a confident, graceful ballroom dancer. Maybe you'll even get good enough that people will pay to watch you perform one day!

When searching for the best at-home ballroom dance lesson options, also consider the following things to ensure an enjoyable experience:

  • Cost. Make sure you are receiving plenty of material to teach you everything you want to know for the price you are charged for online lessons. Regardless, you'll likely still be saving lots of money compared to in-person classes!
  • Are the lessons modern? You don't want to dance to outdated music or feel like you're watching a movie from the 80's. Make sure you can download the content to whatever device will be easiest for you to use.
  • Return policy. If you purchase the ballroom dance course and are let down by the content, check to see if there is a return policy that allows you to receive a full refund.

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best online ballroom dance lessons available today. We hope these reviews help you find the best ballroom dance package for you!
