On the Elevate website

Elevate by Avantera is a brain support supplement full of herbs and vitamins that are all scientifically linked to functions of the brain that can affect ADHD. Everything included in Elevate is high-quality and without unnecessary additives. Customers really like Elevate and it can be especially effective when taken in conjunction with Unwind, Avantera's sleep supplement. We are impressed with everything about this supplement except that it will cost customers about $69.95 per month as a one-time purchase. This supplement has earned a high rating from us, but you'll have to decide if you can afford the long-term cost of it.

On the Focus Factor website

Focus Factor is a dietary supplement that could replace your multi-vitamin. There is quite a long list of ingredients, so we'd read through it carefully before using it. However, it's really affordable at just $26.95 for a 180-count bottle that will last anywhere from 22 to 45 days, depending on how many tablets you need to take. Thousands of customers have reported on the effectiveness of Focus Factor and most generally say that it works well and gives them the benefits they're looking for. Because of lack of clarity about their parent brand and what each ingredient is used for, Focus Factor has earned a just-above-average rating from us.

On the Alpha Brain website

Alpha Brain is a dietary supplement meant to help the brain improve in all areas, supporting mental clarity with a blend of vitamins and herbs. There is a 15- and 45-day supply option when you're purchasing Alpha Brain, so the price is a bit higher than what we've seen with other supplements for ADHD. The ingredients in Alpha Brain might work well for some and be concerning for others, so you may want to run this supplement by your doctor. Reviews are mostly positive, but we read that quite a few people felt nauseated and unwell after taking Alpha Brain, so it comes with some potential side effects. Overall, Alpha Brain isn't one of our top ADHD supplements, so it has earned an average rating.

On the Brain Support website

Brain Support is meant to improve memory and focus when you take 2 capsules daily. You can view the list of ingredients, which is actually quite short compared to other ADHD supplements we found. However, we would like an explanation of each one and what it does for the brain. There isn't a lot of information about Brain Support and there are no customer reviews for it at this time either. Since it costs nearly $54/month for a 30-day supply, we aren't jumping on this wagon right now and suggest trying a higher-rated product instead.

On the Mega Focus website

Mega Focus is a supplement that comes with bare bones information as far as who it's safe for, what the company is all about, the best way to take their supplement, and how well it works for customers. For $49.99/month, this is not the cheapest choice, especially considering it may also not be the most effective. We're underwhelmed by Mega Focus, so they've earned a spot at the bottom of our list of ADHD supplements.

What Are the Best Products for Dealing with ADHD?

Otherwise known as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, this very common condition is diagnosed in over 3 million new people each year. It often begins in childhood and is characterized by impulsiveness, difficulty focusing, and hyperactivity. This can make school more challenging and lead kids and adults to have problems in relationships, a hard time completing tasks, and even lead to anxiety and depression.

It's hard to pinpoint the cause of ADHD since it can be genetic, stem from environmental factors, result from poor nutrition, or be tied to certain prenatal factors. Everyone will experience symptoms of ADHD in different settings and at different times, but a true diagnosis of ADHD needs to be made by a medical professional. Oftentimes people feel like they also need to defer to the prescription medications that their provider recommends as the next course of action.

If you're hesitant about jumping into a long-term prescription medication regimen, you're not alone. There are quite a few over-the-counter (OTC) products that have been reported to be effective in managing ADHD, so this might be a better starting place. Used in conjunction with talk therapy, lifestyle and nutrition improvements (more sleep, exercise, time management, nutrient-dense diet), you will likely see significant improvements.

It may take a combination of products to turn the tides of ADHD for someone, so fortunately there are quite a few supplements you could try or even use in conjunction with other efforts to see improvements. We've narrowed down the most important information about a variety of companies to help you choose the right ADHD products.

Along with what we've researched, we recommend taking the following things into consideration when shopping online:

The experts at Top Consumer Reviews have researched the best over-the-counter ADHD products you can purchase online. We hope this information helps you find something that works to calm your mind, help you focus, and feel more in control of your time.

ADHD Supplement FAQ

What is ADHD?
ADHD stands for "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder". According to the DSM-V, this condition is defined as "a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development, has symptoms presenting in two or more settings, and negatively impacts social, academic or occupational functioning".
How many people have ADHD?
Over 14 million Americans have been diagnosed with ADHD. It is most commonly diagnosed in children ages 4-17, but adults can also struggle with ADHD.
Are there different types of ADHD?
Yes. Experts today distinguish between an inattentive type and a hyperactive-impulsive type. In the past, they were called by two different names (ADD vs. ADHD) but now they're included under the same general diagnosis of ADHD.
Is ADHD genetic?
There is strong evidence that there's a biological basis for ADHD. Children with the diagnosis typically have one or more close relatives with ADHD, and at least a third of all fathers with a ADHD diagnosis in their youth have children with it as well.
How is ADHD diagnosed?
There isn't a single test that can "prove" someone has ADHD. The diagnosis usually comes through a battery of tests, assessments and interviews with parents/caregivers, teachers, and the individuals themselves.
How is ADHD handled?
There's no cure for ADHD, but symptoms can be identified and managed. Some approaches include medication (stimulant or non-stimulant), behavior modification and other types of therapy.
Are over-the-counter ADHD supplements safe?
Yes. Some parents are concerned with the long-term effects (and costs) of prescription-based ADHD medications, so they turn to more natural remedies to manage symptoms. Many of these supplements have been used by thousands of people with great success. Of course, it's always a good idea to discuss such supplements with your doctor before use, and read the ingredients list to make sure there are no contraindications with anything else you may be taking.
Are over-the-counter ADHD supplements expensive?
Fortunately, no. You can get a one-month supply of ADHD supplements for under $40, though you'll find a few remedies that cost a little more. Many retailers include free shipping or have discount offers when you buy several months' supply at a time, making ADHD supplements even more affordable.
