Obagi, established in 1988, manufactures medical-grade skincare to help people of all skin types solve their dermatological issues. The company believes that healthy skin affects how the world sees us, how we see ourselves, and can even transform lives. Obagi's line of skincare is dermatologist-tested and recommended by many physicians. They focus on using potent, pure, and effective ingredients and hold their products to the highest standard with rigorous testing. The categories of products from Obagi include acne and blemish, aging and sagging, dehydrated skin, fine lines and wrinkles, lash and brow, sensitive skin, and uneven skin tones.

13 anti-aging products

There are 13 products to target fine lines and wrinkles including things like retinol, facial serum, retexturizing cream, facial peel, and more. The ones that felt more relevant to us (but might not be for everyone) were the ELASTIderm Neck and Decollete Concentrate, SUZANOBAGIMD Retivance Skin Rejuvenating Complex, and the ELASTIderm Eye Cream. Although it sounds like these products are made by different brands, their name actually just signifies which Obagi collection they come from.

Results within weeks

The ELASTIderm Neck and Decollete Concentrate is a gel that you squeeze out through a dermaroller to target aging and sagging, fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin, and skin discoloration. After cleansing, it should be applied morning and night over the entire neck from the decollete to the jawline in an upward motion. This product combines a retinoid with alpha-arbutin to target signs of aging for firmer skin, but with all products, you'll have to view their full ingredient list to see everything that's included. Users should notice results within 8 weeks and see full results by 12 weeks. You can purchase ELASTIderm Neck and Decollete Concentrate in a 1 oz ($198) or 2 oz ($260) tube.

Improve skin texture

SUZANOBAGIMD Retivance Skin Rejuvenating Complex combines retinaldehyde with vitamin C and E to improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It's a serum that comes in a squeeze tube for easy application. Customers are instructed to use up to 3 pumps of it after cleansing their face and applying toner. Because of the ingredients, it's recommended that you always use SPF 30 or higher the morning after you apply Retivance. This product only comes in a 1 oz tube and costs $145.

No more crepey eyes

We love a good eye cream, so the ELASTIderm Eye Cream was of interest to us. It comes in a small 0.5 oz jar for $125 and seems to be one of their most effective products. It's formulated with what Obagi calls their "Bi-Mineral Contour Complex” that is clinically proven to reduce the crepey-looking appearance that can happen with the sensitive skin around your eyes. The company says that 97% of patients considered the roughness around their eyes to be unnoticeable after using ELASTIderm Eye Cream in an 8-week clinical study. This product should be used 1-2 times per day by gently massaging small dots of the cream around the eye area.

Obagi offers 15% off your first purchase if you sign up for their email list. However, you also have to spend at least $165 to get this offer, so it's not as great of a deal as it initially sounds. Although, with the steep prices of many products from Obagi it won't be hard to spend over $165 and with a few products, you may even find yourself spending way more than that. It makes a lot of sense to sign up for subscriptions when you shop here, since you'll save 15% on each product when it ships every 1, 2, 3, or 4 months.

Free shipping on orders over $149

If you spend over $149 from Obagi, your order will ship for free. Otherwise, you'll see the cost of shipping at checkout once you've added your items to cart and put in your address. Once you receive your items, they are returnable for 30 days unless you've opened them. You'll need to request a return merchandise authorization from Obaji and ship your item(s) back to them within 7 days if you change your mind about your order.

Obagi is not rated by the Better Business Bureau. Luckily they do have honest customer reviews straight on their website and you can read what people have to say about all the individual products. Most of them are highly rated, but there are some mixed reviews, so it's important to read what people's experiences have been before making a purchase. Overall their products do seem to make a difference for people, so we trust the effectiveness of what Obagi sells.

Hard to bite the cost

The products from Obagi seem high quality and surely they'd be a great thing for most people to use. Our hangup is the price of everything. Not everyone is able to spend hundreds of dollars on an individual product that needs to be replenished every couple of months. That's a lot of commitment if you're going to use an anti-aging cream from here long-term. We also wish that you could send used products back because it's hard to spend so much only to find that you're not seeing any results. Aside from this, we like Obagi's website and that their anti-aging solutions are medical grade. They've earned an average rating from us.
