Mabis Nebulizer Review 1 Star Rating

Mabis Nebulizer

1 Star Rating
  • $44.99 for the portable unit
  • Stylish
  • Petite
  • Built-in handle for portability
  • 5-year limited warranty

The handy Mabis Nebulizer dispenses a fine mist to help you breathe easier in a short amount of time. It's available over the counter so you don't need a doctor's prescription. Available is the key word here. We couldn't find anywhere that it was actually ready for purchase, but you can consider our evaluation in the event that it's in stock somewhere you shop.

This Mabis Minicomp Nebulizer is small and portable

The size is about 7" x 7" x 5" and has a carrying handle, making it a petite, portable unit. It's easy to carry, easy to store, and doesn't take up a great amount of surface space when in use.

Parts included

The mouthpiece is angled for comfort and ease of use. The 7-ft air tube is a generous length for movement while in use. There are five air filters so you'll have extras when needed, and the instructions are in both English and Spanish.

Water or solution?

It's unclear if this product uses water or a solution. Nebulizers typically use a doctor-prescribed solution for opening airways. What's perplexing is that if this product requires a prescribed solution, the doctor might not prescribe the solution without the corresponding prescribed machine. Since this machine isn't available with a prescription, it seems that there may be no need to purchase it.

Where to purchase - a caveat

This item can only be sold in states where a physician's prescription is not required. Our research shows that Medicare will cover a prescribed nebulizer, so this product wouldn't be for Medicare users, and it is unclear if any states don't require a prescription for a nebulizer. If that's the case, then there may not be any states where this product could be sold.

Hard to find

The only place to purchase this product seems to be CVS. However, when we went to CVS' site to purchase this product, the site indicated that it's not sold in stores, not available for pickup, not available for shipping, and it's out of stock online.

Customers are happy?

Since we couldn't purchase this product due to availability, we checked online reviews. There were two. Both were rated highly, and the single comment was that the Mabis worked in half the time of their prescription nebulizer. We don't consider this to be significant enough of a population to get overly excited, however.

At the bottom of our list

The Mabis Nebulizer is only available in states where the prescription is not needed. Unfortunately we couldn't find it available anywhere else, either. It doesn't seem to be available by any means: online, in store, or shipped. Looks like we all have been ghosted.

Which Asthma Product is the Best for You?

Breathing is easy. Until it's not. When there's shortness of breath, a tight chest, or wheezing, you want relief and you want it fast. Other times you may have a tight chest coupled with sinus symptoms, heavy mucus, and breathing is shallow and labored. It may not be an emergency, but it's no fun and daily activities can be a chore. You want help to breathe better.

If you or someone you love is one of the more than 30 million Americans living with this condition, you know that there's no time to spare when trying to open up constricted airways. Seconds can feel like hours as you run to get your inhaler, administer the dosage, and pray that you'll be able to get a full breath quickly.

Asthma Product FAQ

Asthma is a condition that causes your airways to narrow, swell, and make extra mucus, so it's harder to breathe. It is a long-term condition: people with serious cases are affected by it every day. People who have asthma are usually extra sensitive to "triggers" like dust, chemicals, smoke, pet dander, or changes in the weather that cause inflammation in their lungs.
Asthma is an extremely common condition with over 30 million diagnoses in the United States. It can affect children and adults alike, although adults are more likely to have asthma than kids. Some risk factors include having one or more parent with asthma, allergies, obesity, stress, smoking, and gender. For whatever reason, adult women are more likely to have asthma than men.
Having asthma can have a big effect on your hobbies. Physical activities are particularly limited since asthma can be brought on by exercise or certain weather. If too much strain is put on the lungs and inflammation becomes bad enough, an asthma attack can occur and sometimes be life threatening. Because of this, it can take a mental and emotional toll on individuals who aren't able to participate in exercise as much as they would like to.
Yes! There are quite a few products you can buy online without a prescription to help with asthma symptoms. Unfortunately, asthma can't be cured completely, but it can be kept at bay to allow people more freedom and comfort to do what they want. The products available online help to soothe the throat, prevent coughing, and help people breathe easier.
There are a variety of ways that asthma products work and can be used. This is great since some people prefer taking an ingestible pill, while others would rather use a nasal spray or something topical. One of the highest rated asthma products comes in tablet form, while others are meant to drink or be inhaled.
If you've dealt with asthma for a long time, you've likely forked out big bucks for an inhaler and prescription. Some people are paying hundreds of dollars a month, which can be a financial burden. In order to get rid of the need for an inhaler or stretch your prescription for longer, you can buy asthma products online for just $30 or so. This is significantly cheaper and could save you lots of money in the long run!
Yes! Most asthma products online that have high ratings are safe for both children and adults. They have straightforward ingredient lists so you can make sure you feel safe using them. Some ingestible medications are all-natural and made from plant-based sources, so they don't come with harmful side effects or cause issues with other medications. We have come a long way with fighting asthma - there are better products on the market than there have ever been before!
Double check the return policy or satisfaction guarantee before purchasing an asthma product. Luckily, these companies know that everyone's case of asthma is slightly different and not everyone reacts the same to medication or OTC products. There are a lot of great companies that allow customers to try out their asthma products for 30-60 days and decide if they like it while still being eligible for a full refund. Most asthma products are low-risk since you can get your money back if you need to try something else.

Continued from above...

Maybe a traditional, prescription-based inhaler hasn't worked for you. Or, maybe you've experienced negative side effects - like a weaker immune system or headaches - or perhaps the ongoing expense has become harder to afford. Whether you want relief from sudden, temporary, seasonal, or long-term lung distress, there's a product for you. There are even asthma products to help clean the lungs and to offer relief for smoker's cough.

Many of these options use all-natural ingredients to soothe your lungs and get you breathing normally, without the side effects that are so commonly experienced with prescription options. Plus, some of these products are administered as a tablet or oral liquid, eliminating the need to try and take a puff of an inhaler when you're already struggling to breathe.

It's important to realize, however, that not all Asthma products work in the same way. Some work to help prevent attacks from happening in the first place, while others operate more like a rescue option at the onset of breathing difficulties. As you consider the various alternatives to prescription medications, be sure you understand the intended forms that each one provides.

With such a variety of products available for the various symptoms you or your loved one possesses, it can be challenging knowing where to start. Here are several factors to consider when looking for a product for asthma or other breathing challenges:

  • Your symptoms. Do you have sudden onset of shortness of breath? Do you have chronic tightness of the chest? Is the wheezing coupled with phlegm or dry? Are your symptoms short-term, seasonal, or chronic?
  • Immediate or long-term help. Are you looking for immediate relief or are you wanting to take products daily for help long into the future?
  • Ingredients. There are products that are all-natural with mostly organic ingredients, there are homeopathic recipes, and there are the over-the-counter drugstore variety. There are helpful products in all categories; choose the one you feel most comfortable with.
  • Price. Products can range from $10 to almost $40. If you're looking for occasional use, price may not matter too much. If you want to keep using the product to hopefully avoid the scary feeling of a tight chest, you might consider how much the product will cost you monthly.
  • Your doctor. Before taking any product for lung support, consult your healthcare provider. Be especially aware if you are pregnant, nursing, or plan on dispensing a product to a child. Some consumers have been thrilled to reduce their dosage or number of meds when on our highly-rated, over-the-counter products.
  • Effectiveness. As with any remedy, results may vary: there's no single asthma product that works 100% of the time for every patient. However, if the medication or supplement tends to work for many people with your same condition (for example, asthma or COPD), chances are that it's a good place for you to start too.
  • Satisfaction guarantee. Because not all products work for all people, the best asthma remedies come with a satisfaction guarantee that lets you get a refund if you try it and don't see results. A solid refund policy can make it financially risk-free to experiment with a new asthma product, if cost is an issue for you.
