Endurance was founded in 2006 and boasts that they aim to be the most customer-driven company in the industry. We will say upfront that customer feedback about their experience with Endurance is very mixed. Some customers feel like Endurance was attentive to their needs, friendly, and has a reliable claim submission process. Others report having a difficult time canceling their plan, aggressive phone conversations with customer service trying to sell them coverage, and a hard time getting a hold of the claims department for help with their vehicle repairs. It is not unusual for a company to have both positive and negative feedback from their customers, but the F rating Endurance receives from the Better Business Bureau leaves us feeling unsettled about their services.
A rep will call you back
To receive a quote through Endurance, customers will fill out a form with the make, model, mileage, and year of their vehicle along with personal contact information. By submitting this form, you give Endurance permission to either call, text, or email you with information on an auto warranty quote. Typically, a phone call will come through with a customer service representative ready to discuss coverage details with you.
5 auto warranty plans
There are five different auto warranty plans that can be purchased through Endurance, most of which range from 3 - 7 years. These include Select Premier (for high mileage vehicles), Secure (most affordable), Secure Plus (has the shortest wait period), Superior (most component coverage), and Supreme (exclusionary coverage). A simple chart can be viewed on Endurance's website that highlights the main differences between the five plans. For complete coverage details, we suggest reading your contract thoroughly. Most plans are administered directly by Endurance. Once the plan has been purchased, you will likely continue to work through Endurance for claims and questions rather than an outside provider.
Endurance elite membership
With each auto warranty plan through Endurance comes the Endurance Elite Membership which includes:
Support and advice
One of the ways Endurance strives to prove their genuine care for customers is by offering support and advice through the repair process if something happens to your vehicle that wasn't covered by your plan. In addition, they let customers have access to their team of retired mechanics that can work with your chosen mechanic to ensure you get the best deal on repairs and don't get taken advantage of.
Negative customer feedback
Despite the good plan options, the company has a slew of negative comments and the worst possible rating from the BBB. This raises many red flags that should be heavily taken into consideration when going through the plan options. We suggest reviewing in detail all the contract options for yourself before pulling the trigger on purchasing vehicle warranty coverage here.
When you purchase a new car, an auto warranty is usually an optional purchase along with it. This is a good choice for vehicle owners who want to spend a little extra each month or in one lump sum for peace of mind about dealing with potential vehicle issues down the road (no pun intended). Generally, a warranty extends for a certain number of years or until the vehicle reaches a specific number of miles.
Heaven forbid you have an engine blowout, faulty brake system, electrical issue, or steering malfunction as you're cruising along in your car. If this were the case, a big concern for you (besides your safety) would be the thousands of dollars it could cost to get these major issues repaired. Whether your vehicle is brand new or a few years old, unfortunately things go wrong with cars that you can never predict.
Auto warranties make it so that vehicle owners pay a contracted price much lower than the total cost of a major repair to ensure that if a big issue arises, the costs for fixing the vehicle will be covered. Some major repairs that might be covered under warranty include transmission, engine, powertrain, heating/cooling, and other necessary vehicle parts.
