Albee Baby began after Alexander Weintraub decided to change his bicycle repair shop's focus to servicing baby carriages. Since 1933, Albee has focused on providing quality baby items to growing families. At the time of this review, they held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The website is sleek and nicely organized. Albee offers the following styles of cribs:
New customers will have no problem navigating through the site to search for products. However, our main issue with Albee is their lack of inventory. For example, we were interested in learning more about Institutional cribs. Unfortunately, there is no information about this crib, which left us wondering why the company would post it on their site.
Moreover, there were quite a few items listed as "out of stock." Such limited selection might be off-putting to customers who might be searching for matching nursery furniture. We recommend calling them directly to find out about any item you might want to purchase.
As far as customer service goes, we found several reviews giving high marks, especially from consumers who visited Albee's physical store in New York (The store even wraps gifts for free). Reviews for online service is another story. We found a considerable amount of complaints from people who purchased items online. Many were unhappy with how representatives spoke to them and by how long it took to resolve issues.
If we were only reviewing the company, Albee would do very well. However, as we are reviewing their online presence, we have to give them lower marks. We hope they will work to improve their website inventory and online customer service.
But with so many brands and styles to choose from, selecting the best crib can be an overwhelming experience. Do you choose the affordable crib? Or should you purchase the more popular brand?
