The online baby store company, aBaby, was launched in 1998. They have a huge inventory of items for infants and toddlers. They have furniture, bedding, nursery decor, bassinets, mattresses, and toys of all kinds. Their website looks a little too early 2000's for us, so it could use a remodel to appeal to a younger audience looking for modern products for their kids.
Bedroom basics and toys
Some of the popular brands you'll find at aBaby are Lulla Smith, Newport Cottages, The Rug Market, Baby Doll Bedding, Badger Basket, and KidKraft. Their bestselling items are:
No baby essentials here
One of aBaby's most unique categories of products are their custom baby furniture. This should be one of the first places to look if you're wanting one-of-a-kind personalized furniture pieces for your child. What you won't find here are some of the basics like car seats, strollers, diapers, or clothing.
Discount codes
At the time of this review, aBaby had discount codes provided to save 5% or 10% on your order, depending on how much you were spending at checkout. The prices on all their items are competitive, so you won't feel like you're breaking the bank here, but it helps to save a little on your overall purchase.
Restocking fee for large items
If you aren't satisfied with your purchase from aBaby, you can return it within 30 days for an exchange or refund (as long as it isn't a custom item). Larger items like beds, play kitchens, and nursery furniture will incur a 15% restocking fee.
Average ratings
Unfortunately, aBaby is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau and only has a "B-" rating. This is because they haven't responded to all their customer complaints. People online who are frustrated with aBaby report that it takes a long time to receive products, customer service is hard to deal with, and that some items look different from the description or image on the website. Overall, this site gets average reviews from customers and some are extremely happy with their purchases here.
Not our first pick
If you're wanting furniture for your child's room or some unique toys for your toddler, aBaby is a fun place to look. However, if you're a new parent needing the essentials for an infant, you will want to look elsewhere. This is not our first pick for baby stores.
Preparing for a new baby requires a surprising amount of purchases like a crib, changing station, car seat, stroller, clothing, rocking chair, bathing items, diapers, teethers, blankets, and so much more. Even as your child grows, the items needed don't seem to slow down! They grow so quickly and you'll need new toys, clothes, and books to keep up with their developmental stages.
Parents want the newest, cutest, and best things for their babies. With each new season comes a need for fun new outfits and activities. But, as any parent knows, shopping in-store becomes exponentially harder with little ones, so online shopping is a saving grace. You can shop to your heart's content from the comfort of your home to style your baby to be the cutest on the block!
There are many baby stores online to choose from. Some are more high-end and charge an arm and a leg for even the smallest and simplest baby items. It helps to be able to compare prices between different stores, especially for big ticket items like car seats and strollers. You'll be spending a lot of money on a baby no matter where you shop, but it helps to find online stores that offer discount codes or big sales to keep you within a budget!
