Which Bagel Club is the Best?  Few breakfast foods are as beloved as a fresh, chewy bagel. Whether toasted with a smear of cream cheese, loaded with smoked salmon, or simply enjoyed as-is, bagels have been a go-to comfort food for decades.
When it comes to monthly subscriptions, Amazing Clubs is a name that consistently delivers top-tier experiences. From cupcakes to candles, honey to hot sauce, their lineup of 38 clubs covers just about every interest. If you want variety, you can even mix and match different subscriptions, alternating bagels with flowers, desserts, or jam. But if bagels are your main event, this club is hands-down the best choice.
16 freshly-baked bagels in every box
Every Amazing Clubs shipment brings you 16 full-sized bagels, baked fresh by some of New York's best bagel makers and shipped straight to your door. You'll receive two different flavors each month, with eight bagels of each. The lineup has included everything from classics like egg and cinnamon raisin to more novel picks like "Black Russian" (dark pumpernickel/raisin), sunflower seed, and cranberry. While you won't get to pick your own flavors, Amazing Clubs takes the guesswork out by letting you know the selections ahead of time. If there's a month that doesn't quite match your taste, you can easily skip it and have that delivery added to the end of your plan.
A side of bagel knowledge
Each shipment also includes Whatta Bagel, a fun newsletter packed with insights about the bakeries behind your bagels, creative serving ideas, and interesting bagel trivia. Whether you're a die-hard bagel fan or just bagel-curious, it's a great little bonus to your monthly delivery.
Pricing and subscription flexibility
So, how much does Amazing Clubs' bagel subscription cost? That depends on the length of your subscription:
The good news? Shipping is already included, no matter which plan you choose. You also have the option to space out deliveries every other month if that works better for you. Plus, while many rival bagel clubs require full payment upfront, Amazing Clubs lets you pay as you go if that's your preference.
Delivers on the discounts
Even though Amazing Clubs is already super-affordable, they're always offering discounts to tempt you into signing up for anything you've been eyeing. The one we see most often is if we browse around a while before clicking on anything: we almost always get a pop-up offering $5 off a 3-month subscription, $10 off a seasonal club, $15 off a 6-month club, and $30 off a 12-month club, with the requirement that we complete our order within an hour. Also, once you become an Amazing Clubs customer, expect to get emails almost daily (honestly, it's a bit much) with discounts on new subscriptions. In short, there's no reason you'll ever have to pay full price on a subscription here - bagels or anything else.
The ultimate bagel gift
If you're looking for a unique gift, this bagel club is one of the easiest to give. At checkout, you can provide the recipient's details and choose how they'll be notified - either by email, USPS mail, or a printable gift announcement you can hand-deliver yourself. You also get to select when their first shipment will go out, with options for any month in the upcoming year. No matter when they subscribe, bagels always ship during the last week of the month. Also, your lucky recipient will get the preview emails, so they can skip any months with bagel flavors they don't particularly like (or times when they'll be out of town). It's really hassle-free for everyone.
A satisfaction guarantee that's hard to beat
Over the years, we've tested multiple clubs from Amazing Clubs, and one thing has remained constant: their "You'll Love It! Guarantee." If anything goes wrong - whether the bagels arrive stale, the flavors don't meet expectations, or a shipment goes missing - customer service will do whatever it takes to make it right. And if you ever decide to cancel, any unused portion of a prepaid plan is refunded, while pay-as-you-go members can simply stop future shipments.
Even New Yorkers give it a thumbs-up
Bagel snobs, take note: even lifelong New Yorkers have been impressed by this club. Some started out skeptical but ended up pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and freshness of these bagels. The only complaints we found came from people who thought that "bagels are a very weird gift" (okay then...) or wished the club included more plain varieties. Fortunately, Amazing Clubs allows easy swaps to another subscription if needed.
Our top pick for bagel lovers
If you're all about plain bagels, this might not be your perfect match. But if you love variety, top-quality bagels, and a flexible subscription with fantastic customer service, Amazing Clubs is the clear winner. Whether for yourself or as a gift, this bagel club offers an unbeatable combination of freshness, fun, and reliability, earning it our #1 spot among bagel subscriptions.
New Yorker Bagels has been serving up classic New York bagels for over 50 years, first as The Bagel Buffet on NYC's 6th Avenue before expanding into wholesale distribution about two decades ago. Fortunately, you don't have to be in the tri-state area to enjoy these fresh-baked bagels - thanks to their bagel club.
Three ways to get your bagel fix
New Yorker Bagels offers three flexible subscription options:
Lots of love from New Yorkers (and everyone else)
While some bagel lovers have strong opinions on what makes a true NYC bagel, most New Yorker Bagels customers are extremely loyal. Reviews across various platforms are mostly positive, but with enough negative ones sprinkled throughout (and responded to appropriately) for us to have confidence that the comments are all from real customers. We were particularly glad to read through the reviews left on Facebook: most of them were regarding shipped orders, and almost everyone says that the bagels arrive fresh and taste exactly how you'd expect for a Big Apple bagel.
Almost two dozen delicious bagel flavors
Speaking of flavors, New Yorker Bagels has an incredible variety to choose from. At the time of our review, we were able to select from the following:
You're the boss of this bagel club
That's not where the customization ends, though. You also can choose to have your bagels delivered every 1-4 months. Plus, New Yorker Bagels makes it easy to adjust your subscription. You can pause deliveries, change flavors, or update your schedule as needed. Since you're paying month to month (unless it's a gift subscription), you can also cancel anytime. And, to top it all off, New Yorker Bagels gives you free 2-day FedEx shipping on every bagel club subscription.
Don't miss the free rewards program
But wait, there's more. This is the only bagel club on our list that has a loyalty program, called Bagel Dough Rewards. You earn "sesame seeds" (points) for signing up (250), 5 "seeds" for every dollar spent, 25 for liking New Yorker Bagels on Facebook, 75 for following the bakery on Instagram, you get the idea. Oh, and starting a bagel subscription? 500 sesame seeds. When you have at least 500 seeds (easy to do when you sign up before starting your subscription), you can redeem them for $5 off your order, including subscriptions. Why not?!
Best bagel club for variety and authenticity
With decades of experience and a reputation for quality, New Yorker Bagels knows how to deliver an authentic bagel experience. Whether you're craving a classic or something a little different, their subscription service gives you plenty of options. If you're looking for a convenient way to enjoy nearly two dozen flavors of fresh NYC bagels at home, New Yorker Bagels' club should be near the top of your list.
If you're a bagel lover with allergies, you know how tough it can be to find a good option. That's exactly why The Greater Knead was created - to make bagels that are safe for people with dietary restrictions. The founder started the bakery in 2012 after her sister and grandfather were diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and since then, they've been crafting bagels and baked goods that are free from the top nine allergens: wheat/gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, and sesame. (And just to be extra careful, they also don't use mustard, celery, or sulfites, per EU guidelines.)
You choose the flavors and create your subscription
You can order any combo of bagels you like as a one-off order from The Greater Knead. Your box has to contain at least 4 bags, with 4 bagels in each one (a total of 16 bagels). But, as soon as you hit the "Subscribe" button and choose a delivery frequency - every 30, 60, or 90 days - you'll see the price drop from $60 to $54. That's your "bagel club" discount.
Over a dozen fantastic flavors of bagels
And flavors? Your perfect lineup can include any of the following: "everything", cinnamon raisin, chocolate chip, tomato basil, French toast, garlic, onion, plain, poppy seed, pumpkin, salt, or snickerdoodle. You may also have seasonal specialties to choose from; for example, we've seen heart-shaped bagels in the past.
Other tasty baked goods you can add to your box
Bagels aren't the only thing on the menu. If you're in the mood for a little extra, The Greater Knead also offers gluten- and allergen-free soft pretzels and pretzel nuggets. It's a great way to add some variety to your order while still keeping things safe and delicious. We noticed that when we created a subscription with the minimum requirement of 4 bagel packs, we got a notification saying we could add 2 more frozen baked goods to our cart and get a discount - so keep that in mind if you'd like to mix-and-match a bit outside of "just bagels".
Free shipping
Are you thinking "I bet there's a catch, and it's going to be ‘expensive shipping'"? Nope. All orders at The Greater Knead ship for free. Your bagels (and other baked goods) arrive frozen, so there isn't the same time crunch/deadline you might have when buying freshly-baked bagels from other bakeries.
No spam, please
The one thing we didn't like? When all we had done was enter our name and email address to find out shipping costs, we still got a "here's a discount" email from The Greater Knead, even though we had checked the box saying we weren't interested in getting promotions or being added to the mailing list. That always leaves a bad taste in our mouth, and we'd recommend that this bakery take steps to remove that from their online process.
Terrific customer service
The Greater Knead has built a loyal following. Customers rave about how these bagels taste just like (or even better than) traditional ones. Many have said they never thought they'd get to enjoy a bagel again until they found this bakery. While you'll have to look at the a la carte bagels to see reviews on individual flavors, you can rest assured that if something goes awry with your delivery, all it takes is a reach-out to The Greater Knead's customer service team and they'll make it right.
Game-changer for bagel-lovers with allergies
If you need a bagel subscription that's completely allergen-free, The Greater Knead is a no-brainer. But even if you don't have dietary restrictions, it's still a fantastic choice. The bagels are delicious, the subscription is flexible, and the price is competitive. The only downside? You won't find super adventurous flavors, but that's a small price to pay for a safe and high-quality product - and there's still a broader selection of both sweet and savory bagels than many of the competitors on our list. Whether you have food sensitivities or just want to try something new, this is a bagel club worth checking out.
Zucker's Bagels and Smoked Fish is a true New York staple, bringing classic, hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels to the city since 2006. Founded in TriBeCa, Zucker's takes pride in doing things the old-fashioned way - using high-quality, unbleached, and unbromated flours with a touch of malt syrup for a perfect golden crust and chewy bite. They don't skimp on the toppings either, making sure every bagel is generously coated on both sides. And, with its bagel club, Zucker's delivers the tradition of a great New York bagel anywhere in the US (even Alaska and Hawaii, with a $20 delivery surcharge).
You get way more than bagels with this club
Out of all of the bagel clubs on our list, Zucker's is the one you might call "bagels and more": every delivery comes not just with a dozen bagels, but also three half-pound containers of schmear in true New York fashion. Plus, you'll always get a surprise "extra": sometimes that might be a little babka dessert, another month it might be a coffee mug, and so on.
Expect the bagels and schmears to be savory
With respect to flavors, you should anticipate that all of your bagels-and-schmear will be savory: the bagels are an assortment of plain, sesame, and "everything", and the cream cheese flavors will be plain, scallion, and the flavor of the month. That doesn't sound like you would be getting any cinnamon-raisin bagels with a brown sugar cream cheese spread, but we wouldn't completely rule it out. (We recommend calling Zucker's if you absolutely need to know.)
Pay in full for at least 3 months
Knowing that you get all of that in your delivery, you probably won't be surprised to learn that this is the most expensive bagel club on our list. Regardless of whether you subscribe for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months, your cost will be $95.95 per delivery, with shipping included in that price. You do have to pay for your entire bagel club plan upfront: that's a jaw-dropping $1151.40 if you go for a full year subscription.
Dedicated to helping the local community
Zucker's isn't just about making great bagels - they also believe in giving back to the community that helped shape them. Owners Matt Pomerantz and Dan Pace are dedicated to running a business that supports its team, its customers, and the city they call home. Zucker's prioritizes sustainability by sourcing locally whenever possible, using eco-friendly packaging, and even delivering by bicycle. They also have a deep commitment to helping those in need, donating 500 bagels every day - about 180,000 meals a year - to The Bowery Mission, which provides food and services to homeless and hungry New Yorkers. From supporting local schools and sports teams to making sure no bagel goes to waste, Zucker's is about more than just breakfast - it's about being a good neighbor. And that's a bagel bakery we can get behind.
Could use more feedback from bagel club subscribers
We can't really tell you how people feel about Zucker's Bagel + Cream Cheese subscription: there were absolutely no reviews for it on the Goldbelly platform that the bakery uses for fulfillment of shipped orders (and we didn't even see a place where customers could rate it). So, yes, you are taking a bit of a chance when you sign up here, because the minimum commitment is three months. And, with Goldbelly not saying that customers can cancel subscriptions and get a refund once they've started, we're not entirely confident that there will be any kind of satisfaction guarantee. But, Goldbelly does invite customers to reach out within 14 days if there's a problem with an order; you just might not be in luck if you simply don't like the bagels and schmear on taste alone.
Reviews for in-person experiences are mid-tier
Over on Yelp, Zucker's Bagels gets a 3-star average score across more than 2,200 reviews. Of course, that feedback is almost always for the in-person experience; high ratings typically come in for the food itself, while lower ratings usually refer to poor service or wrong orders. None of the latter is likely to apply to your month-to-month bagel subscription, though.
Better than average bagel club
Final verdict? Zucker's Bagel + Cream Cheese club is one we'd be excited to get as a gift (you can specify that during checkout, and your recipient will get an email announcement) or to try for a 3-month subscription. It's a great pairing of the quintessential NYC bagel-and-schmear that people go all over the city to test out, and you won't find it with the other subscriptions on our list. On the other hand, the lack of feedback and the spendy $300-ish you'll have to pay for the shortest plan are what keep Zucker's from rating any higher.
Davidovich Bakery has its roots in tradition, shaped by the childhood memories of Gene Davidovich and the aromas of fresh-baked bread in his grandmother's Ukrainian kitchen. After immigrating to the US in 1980, he carried those flavors and techniques with him, eventually turning a passion for baking into a family-run business in 1998. From the beginning, the focus has been on hand-rolled, high-quality bagels made with all-natural ingredients, a commitment that continues today. Even as the bakery has grown, it remains dedicated to the craftsmanship and care that first inspired it, with Gene himself still stepping in to roll and bake, keeping the tradition alive.
Go month-to-month or pay for a year upfront
The bagel club here has made some positive changes since our earlier review. You've now got two subscriptions to choose from: a month-to-month plan at $49.99, or a paid-in-full, annual plan for $599.88. Shipping costs are included in both subscriptions (with the exception of orders going to FL, CA, TX, AZ, UT, ID, CO, NM, and KS; those customers will have to upgrade to second-day shipping), and since there's no savings when you subscribe for a year (and pay upfront), we'd recommend going with the month-to-month plan.
You choose up to 4 flavors in each delivery
It's also possible now to see all of the flavors on offer and select the ones you want in your bagel club boxes. You get 20 bagels each month: 5 each in the 4 flavors you choose. Those flavors include Everything, 7-Grain, Blueberry, Cinnamon Raisin, Pumpernickel, Garlic, Poppy, Onion, Sesame, Plain, Egg, Sourdough, and Whole Wheat.
Just a basic bagel box here
That's really about all you can expect with this bagel club: classic flavors with nothing crazy or seasonal in the mix, no gift-giving options or other perks like a newsletter, just a shipment of the same bagels you'd get if you stopped by the Essex Street Market location on the Lower East Side.
Customers have mixed feelings about bagel delivery
Reputation-wise overall, Davidovich Bakery does okay. They've been around long enough (almost 3 decades) to be a well-known staple in NYC, but most of the feedback out there is based on in-person purchases. We did spot a few reviews from customers who ordered from Davidovich Bakery online, and they were mixed. One person said "the bagels were hard when received and cookies were broken". But, another said that this bakery is "the best delivery service to get NYC bagels remotely". All we can say after reading through dozens of reviews is that your delivery experience with Davidovich Bakery is going to be hit-or-miss.
Not the best or the worst bagel club
All told, Davidovich Bakery's bagel club has made enough changes to move the needle on its reputation since our last review, up to a "just average" score. You get a lot of bagel-for-your-buck here at under $50 for 20, and some customers will really appreciate being able to pick the specific flavors that come in their box. However, compared with some of its rivals on our list, Davidovich Bakery comes up a little short. We'd suggest looking a little higher in our rankings first, but loop back to this bakery if you don't find what you need there.
Knead & Nosh's bagel subscription is the work of Jeff Mao, a baker, educator, and technologist who blends his skills into a unique culinary experience. This small business isn't just about selling bagels - it's about sharing the love of baking through online classes, recipes, and articles to help home bakers up their game.
Get 6 or 12 bagels, mostly in savory flavors
One of Jeff's newest offerings is Knead & Nosh's monthly bagel subscription. Each delivery includes either a dozen ($29) or a half-dozen ($15) hand-rolled bagels, featuring classic options like plain and "everything", as well as more adventurous "monthly special" flavors like roasted garlic and Maine blueberry. Subscribers can customize their selections or opt for a rotating variety each month, making it a fun way to discover new favorites. Just be aware that the "monthly special" flavor is the only slot where you might get a sweet bagel; the regular flavors are all savory (plain, "everything", sesame, poppy seed, sea salt, pumpernickel), or at least not sugary like a cinnamon raisin or French toast variety.
Shipping from Maine can take a while
As exciting as it is to support a small business with a growing reputation, this subscription does come with some logistical concerns. The bagels ship from Maine via USPS Priority Mail, and depending on where you live, they could take a week or more to arrive - meaning you may need to toast them rather than enjoy them fresh. Shipping costs vary by location, but one test address in Florida showed a $17.38 charge, which can add up quickly. Once you've added your bagel club to the cart, enter the delivery address to get your estimate - Knead & Nosh doesn't believe in any nasty surprises or hidden costs.
More than just bagels: Learn to bake your own
One thing that really sets Knead & Nosh apart is its focus on education. Beyond the subscription, Jeff Mao offers a wide range of online baking classes and resources, including step-by-step videos, live virtual workshops, and downloadable guides. Whether you're a beginner trying to master the basics or an experienced home baker looking to refine your technique, there's something for every skill level. It's a great way to deepen your appreciation for what goes into a truly good bagel - and maybe even inspire you to start baking your own.
Donate bagels at half price
That said, we love that Knead & Nosh offers an option to give back: you can donate a dozen bagels to the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program at half price, providing food to a family in need. Just look for that in the options as you're setting up your bagel club.
Off to a good start
While this subscription is still new and hasn't built up reviews yet, Knead & Nosh's strong local presence at farmer's markets in Maine and its community-focused mission make it one to watch. For now, we're giving it a "just average" rating, but we hope to see great feedback regarding this bagel club in the (near) future that would easily bring that rating up.
Picture yourself as a born-and-raised New Yorker, leaving the bright lights and big city to attend college in the Midwest. You go to a local bakery for a bagel breakfast - and it's good, but it's absolutely nothing like what you get back home. That was the inspiration behind the creation of Best New York Bagel, owned and operated by a NYC firefighter who found out firsthand that there's just something special about bagels from the Big Apple. This bakery designed its bagel subscription so that no matter where you live, you can always enjoy a fresh New York bite.
Choose your bagel flavors two-by-two
If you really like being able to choose all of the flavors in your bagel box, Best New York Bagel will really appeal to you. They have 16 flavors in total - including classics like plain and sesame seed, plus more novel ones like blueberry and French toast (though there's a slight surcharge for those last two). And, you get to pick what comes in each shipment: you choose your flavors 2 bagels at a time, so that means you get up to 6 different flavors per delivery. (But yes, if you want a dozen in a single flavor, you can do that too.) Whatever your favorite bagel combos are, you'll pay $25.99 for a dozen.
Shipping costs about as much as the bagels
Once you've added your bagel flavors to your cart, and indicated whether you want them to be delivered weekly, every other week, every month, or every other month, you'll want to check out the shipping rates calculator on the Shopping Cart page. While what you pay will depend on where you're sending your Best New York Bagel subscription, you're likely looking at a minimum of $21 for USPS Priority Mail or UPS 2nd Day Air at $23. We'd strongly recommend going with UPS, since we've seen many USPS Priority Mail shipments taking a week or more - and your bagels would be more likely to arrive stale or spoiled.
High shipping fees
Those high shipping fees take what looks like a super-low-priced bagel club and put it into range with most of the rival subscriptions on our list. It's also a smart idea to put it in the optional notes section if you have a preferred delivery date; that will depend on the shipping carrier you select, but it's a nice benefit if you're trying to get your bagels arriving on a particular day (like Thursday Bagel Breakfast at the office).
No new feedback, and old reviews weren't great
We really wish we could tell you more about this bakery and bagel club, but the company's reputation is pretty elusive. The Better Business Bureau gives the bakery a "C" rating for not responding to one of the three complaints filed there; those issues all mentioned late or missing deliveries. Even Best New York Bagel's social media channels didn't have new posts in the last 18+ months. There was one mention on Facebook in 2024 from someone who said that their bagels arrived in open bags and were dried out, and that no one at Best New York Bagel ever responded to their phone calls and emails. But, that's where the trail of breadcrumbs (pun intended) fades out: no one is saying anything about this bagel bakery lately, and that's a problem.
Not a bagel club we recommend
We were hopeful that Best New York Bagel would have tons more customer comments in the time since our previous review of their subscription - because we really love the idea of being able to try six different bagel flavors in every order. We might have even been willing to pay those exorbitant shipping costs. However, Best New York Bagel just doesn't deliver (literally or figuratively) well enough to justify the risk. With such a high likelihood of winding up disappointed here, you're better off getting your bagels on the regular from a different club on our list.
When you land on the Exes & Zees site, thinking you're going to get a bagel subscription, the first word that will probably come to your mind (as it did to ours) is "random". We can promise you that there's no other bagel club on our list that also offers market coffee (makes sense), supplements (stretching it a bit), beauty products (why?)... and professional services for graphic design and website development (?!). Exes & Zees seems to be based in Minnesota somewhere, but that's really all we can tell you about the business behind the bagels here.
Lots of questions remain about this bagel club
If you love the idea of getting a mystery bagel box, this could very well be the club for you. It's available as a weekly or monthly subscription, but the bagel club page doesn't tell you much more beyond the fact that you'll pay $14.40 on a weekly plan and $16.20 on a monthly one. It does auto-renew, but in theory, you can skip or cancel anytime.
Look at the a la carte shop to figure out bagel flavors
Since there's nowhere on the bagel subscription page that tells you what flavors might be in your subscription, we went to the main Bagels page in the online store to do some detective work. From what we can tell, you can expect flavors to include French toast, plain, "everything", sesame seed, onion, poppy seed, salted, and cheddar. Are any of those seasonal? How often do they add flavors to the menu? We have no idea.
You'll probably get a half-dozen bagels in your box
That Bagels page also makes us think that when you subscribe, you're getting just a half-dozen bagels per delivery (since the a la carte shop has bagels at $17 to $19 for a pack of 6). Amazingly, when we put the bagel club in our cart, there was no shipping fee.
They'll send you unsolicited emails
However, we weren't happy at all to get a "thanks for subscribing, you've earned 10 points." email from Exes & Zees, when all we did was enter our name and email address (unchecking the box for receiving offers) so that we could find out if we would be charged any shipping fees. That feels like a sneaky data grab, not a hallmark of a business that's looking out for its customers.
Company is a mystery
And that's it. We found zero reputation for anything related to Exes & Zees; they don't even have a phone number or an email address on their website, and our live chat went unanswered. We consulted our favorite e-commerce guru, and he took one look and said, "Looks like they didn't want to pay money for hosting separate websites for all of those different products and services...whoever ‘they' might be."
A bagel club we'd avoid
That's enough to land this strange bagel club at the bottom of our list. Sure, we love the price point, but that's where the love for Exes & Zees ends. Everything else about this company (can we even call it a bakery?) is too mysterious, and not really in a fun way. Get your bagels from a company who's all too eager to tell you about itself - like one of the higher-rated clubs on our list.
Continued from above...
