Sears is one of the longest-lasting names in the home furnishings market. Although they no longer have a retail location in practically every mall in America, this retailer offers plenty of barstools in their online store. Ranging in price from under $50 to the mid-$1500s, you'll find brands like Furniture of America, Holland Bar Stool, Bowery Hill, and many others.
To make it easier to find the kind of counter or barstool you need, we suggest using the filtering options on the left side of the page. You may already have an idea of the perfect style for your home - maybe it's important to have a swivel seat, or a specific height, and so on. Click on the dropdowns to only see the kinds of chairs that are right for you; these include Material, Seat Style, Finish, User Ratings, and Current Offers.
As you find chairs that catch your interest, you can easily click on "Add to compare" to keep a running list of your favorite options. Sears also makes it easy to see the average of any available customer reviews, any promotions currently in place.
Sears doesn't give you a lot of detail on the barstools they carry. Some of the furniture we considered only had one small image for us to consider, making it hard to see it from multiple angles. You can click to get more specifics like the finish, materials, and seat height/depth, as you scroll through individual products' available info.
You might get a pop-up discount offer when you visit the Sears site. For example, we got a savings of $5 on $50 or more or $35 on $300 or more if we entered our email.
Sears offers free shipping on all orders of $59 and above. That covers most of the barstools in their online inventory, so your purchase will probably come with no-cost delivery.
One thing that might give you some pause when shopping at Sears: the company filed for bankruptcy in late 2018. While the business continues to operate "with court supervision", that could leave customers in the lurch if the store shuts down completely. In other words, it's hard to make a return if the doors have been closed.
Speaking of returns, Sears' policy isn't the most impressive: you'll only have 30 days from the day your barstools were delivered to send them back or take them to a retail location near you.. If you're part of the Sears Shop Your Way rewards program, you'll get an extension to a total of 45 days for your return.
Another factor to consider when shopping at Sears is that they use a Marketplace structure for some of the furniture they carry. That means that not everything you buy on the Sears website is going to be fulfilled by Sears itself - though they back all of their marketplace sales by guaranteeing they'll either help you resolve any problems or refund the cost of your order.
Of course, you can easily use the three tabs at the top of the Bar Stools page to show only results offered by Sears, just those that can be ordered online and picked up in-store, or full results including Marketplace sellers. It really just depends on your own preferences; there's nothing inherently bad about using third-party partners that Sears has vetted and approved as a seller on their online store.
Overall, Sears has a nice selection of barstools and a long history as a nationwide retailer. But, because of the company's financial status, which could leave customers hanging at any time, we can't give Sears our highest recommendation at this time.
Whether you're moving into a new-to-you home and need some seating for the bar in your rec room or for your kitchen counters, or you simply want to update the look and decor of your living spaces, there are literally thousands of options available to you.
Have you already spent too much time driving from one furniture store to another, hoping to find the perfect barstool - but failing? You're not alone: many shoppers find themselves frustrated when trying to get the barstools they want, because even the best local retailers carry a limited selection of styles, price ranges, and brands.
Fortunately, there's an easy solution to the problem: buying barstools online. There's no easier way to compare all of the possibilities, leading you to the furniture that's exactly the right color, height and price with just a few clicks. Many of the retailers offering barstools have helpful tools on their site that can guide you through the process of taking measurements to ensure the best fit.
Best of all, these online stores usually offer customer-friendly perks like free delivery, generous return policies, and rewards programs that can save you money over their already-competitive prices. Why spend every weekend hoping to find your barstools locally - and then wondering how you'll fit them in your car for the drive home - when you can get exactly what you want shipped right to your front door?
With so many online stores offering barstools, how can you tell which one should get your business? Not all retailers are created equal, so use these criteria as a starting point for your shopping experience:
