If you find a lower priced bicycle part from a competitor, for the same item, Cambria Bike will not only match that price, but also offers 5% off. That's a nice perk that could provide a decent savings. Speaking of saving money, shipping is free for purchases over $50 for U.S. residents. California residents will appreciate free shipping on any purchase.
Generous return policy
Another positive for this bicycle parts store is their generous return policy. As long as your items are in new, unused condition, and in the original packaging, you'll have a full 365 days to return them for a refund. This policy doesn't apply to customized products. You'll have to click on the bright green "Open CambriaBike Returns Center" to start the process on a return. Also, if you have any manufacturer warranty issues, CambriaBike is willing to help you make a claim.
CambriaBike puts it all out there for online customers via a rating system called Shopper Approved. Customers are encouraged to clearly rate each Cambria Bike shopping experience. In fact, we counted as many as 20 reviews in any given day - which provides a huge amount of data for potential buyers. The overwhelming majority of reviews we found were positive. We also perused the Better Business Bureau and found A+ ratings across the board.

You can shop online and get free shipping for orders $60 and up, or choose in-store pickup for free shipping on all orders.
The website has a large and prominent search engine that populates with just the right amount of product and pricing information relevant to anything it can find related to the letters you type. There is also a useful section called "Gear Stoke" that lists their customers' favorite products along with short customer statements on why they like the product so much. This section can be addictive because it keeps showing interesting items in a Pinterest-like "infinity scroll" interface that keeps showing new products as you scroll down.
Their searchable blog section is actually a bunch of detailed guides and reviews of products. The page is divided into two sections: the blog itself listing the latest articles at the top, plus a categorized and alphabetized list of topics in case you're looking for something specific.

Should you find a better price with a competitor, Jenson USA will price match and even offer free shipping (if the competitor also offers it) to win your business. If you don't like something you've purchased, or you ordered the wrong item, you have 365 days to return it in its new, unused/uninstalled condition for a refund of the original purchase price.

Nashbar has been in business since 1974 when it began as a small mail-order bicycle and parts company. Now it has a large following of loyal customers because of its simple website catalog of thousands of products from good-quality brands like Bell, Garmin, Mavic, Shimano, Yakima, and many others.
The search and selection of products from Nashbar couldn't be simpler. You can search by part number or any keyword to find exactly what you are looking for. 30 day return window
At any point in the purchase process, or after, you have the option to contact customer service by phone, chat, or an online form. Fortunately, if you want to make a return, you won't even have to contact Nashbar in advance unless you want a refund: as long as it's in new condition, in the original packaging, and you're okay with getting store credit. Under any other circumstances - you want a refund, it's outside of the 30-day window, and so on - you'll need to reach out first. Nashbar reserves the right to charge a 15% restocking fee as well.
Nashbar's products are not seen by the bicyclist community as being the highest-end, highest-performance, most expensive types of offerings. However, they do tend to fit into the product niche of "good quality for a fair price". Because of this, over time Nashbar has accumulated a large number of high recommendations from thousands of satisfied customers. People appreciate Nashbar's wide selection, good customer service, generous return policy, and product longevity.
There are some rare exceptions. Some customers complained of bad customer service having to do with problems redeeming gift cards and rude customer service representatives. But judging by the overwhelming numbers of good reviews, those occasional problems shouldn't deter customers from purchasing from Nashbar as a decent source of bicycle parts.
Modern Bike is based out of Des Moines, Iowa and offers a wide range of bike parts and other cycling accessories. It's hard to say much else about the company - its history, reputation, and so on - because they don't give away any of that information in their "About" section. Fortunately, they have nearly 1500 customer reviews to consider, most of which give Modern Bike a perfect 5-star rating. In other words, they're doing something right, even if they're not giving away much about how their company works!
The initial impression of the Modern Bike website, especially given the name of the company, is underwhelming. It seems half-finished with an outdated design. There are too many categories listed all at once and it's hard to know where to start if you don't know what you're looking for.
Too many clicks
The search function doesn't offer as nice of a predictive typing solution as other sites do for showing what is available to match what you've typed. The photos of products don't show multiple angles and it's too many clicks to get to a larger view of each product.
Standard return process
There doesn't seem to be any price matching guarantee like other sites we've reviewed. Returns and exchanges are pretty standard but nowhere near the amount of time available as other sites advertise. You only have 30 days to return or exchange an unused, undamaged product in the original, undamaged packaging. In other words, if you try any of their bicycle parts and they don't work the way you expected, you're stuck with them unless it's due to a defect in manufacturing.
Positive customer reviews
If you can look past the low usability of their website, Modern Bike's positive customer reviews may be enough to go ahead and purchase from them. You just may have a better shopping experience with one of our higher rated companies.
Bike Berry sells an exciting array of motorized bicycles. That is their primary focus judging by the ratio of motorized bikes to traditional bikes displayed on their website.
Out of stock
Unfortunately, this company has, for some reason, decided to publish a website on which the overwhelming majority of their products seems to be out of stock! With each page we browsed, there were more "out of stock" notifications on each product than items that had a button to add to cart.
This could potentially be due to supply issues at the time of our visit. A notice at the top of the site stated that they are fully operational, but then confusingly proceeded to state in which aspects they were not fully operational. Even so, other online bicycle companies didn't seem to have the same problem with inventory.
Lack of inventory could also just be due to the company choosing to only order and stock items as demand for them becomes apparent. Our only clue here is a "Notify" link where visitors can add their name to a mailing list to be notified when products are in stock. Presumably, once enough users sign up, the company will order stock from its suppliers and make them available for ordering on the site.
Disappointing customer experience
If this is the case, and barring any temporary supply problems, this business model could be working well for Bike Berry in some way. But it does convey to casual visitors that they perhaps aren't serious as other vendors about providing a good customer experience for all shoppers.
30 day returns
How about returns? Bike Berry gives you 30 days to return any products in new condition: "not installed, fueled, started or ridden". You'll need an RMA from their customer service department before making your return. All returns are subject to a restocking fee of 15%.
Positive customer reviews
Surprisingly, this retailer has a decent reputation with its customers. Over more than 3,500 customer reviews, 90% gave Bike Berry a rating of either four or five stars. Evidently, people are finding items in stock and they're being delivered on time, although you might not guess that from the website.
Better luck elsewhere
In general, Bike Berry might be a good place to shop if you're specifically looking for parts related to motorized bikes and you're willing to browse until you find something in stock. But, for most customers, this retailer isn't going to provide the selection (or availability) of bicycle parts to make for a satisfying shopping experience.
Bike Somewhere is not like other bike shops. They sell automotive, running, and snow sports products in addition to bicycle products. Because of this, they don't appear to be specialists in any one specific area.
Good search system
The search system is useful in displaying additional information about products as you type so that you can adapt your query as you type and find what you're looking for more quickly. It's not designed as well as other sites we've reviewed, but this is better than just submitting a query and browsing the results.
The site's Cycling section shows 13,000+ results in that category, but after a cursory look at the subcategory totals, the brand, flavor, and size subcategories don't seem to reflect quite that many items in stock. Additionally, the site's use of "flavor" to include both snack foods and oils and lubricants (gross) seems a bit odd, almost like they didn't configure their inventory categories correctly.
Lack of information
A less-knowledgeable customer visiting this site may need additional information that the site doesn't offer. For example, for a chrome dog bone lock, we didn't see an adequate description of what the dog bone lock is for or how to use it. More videos, images, and descriptions for each product would be helpful.
No free shipping
Customers will probably be disappointed in other areas. For example, Bike Somewhere doesn't offer any form of free shipping. The company also does not offer price matching for the reason of keeping their relationship with direct manufacturers, maintaining manufacturer warranty authorizations by not undercutting the suggested retail price.
Good return policy
They do have a 30-day return policy for any unused and undamaged items. If you go beyond the initial 30 days, you have up to 30 more days to return an item, but you will be charged a restocking fee. There are no returns after 60 days. Refunds are issued within 72 hours.
Poor customer experience
Bike Somewhere's online reviews reflect our concerns with the non-specialization of the website as well as some major customer service problems. People complained of calling, not getting an answer, leaving voicemails and not getting a response in a reasonable timeframe. Other forums had threads warning potential customers to "beware" and to "avoid" transactions with Bike Somewhere.
Left us disappointed
If you're looking for a shop that has a cycling specialization, it might be best to look elsewhere. Bike Somewhere is likely to leave you disappointed at most stages of the shopping process when looking for bicycle parts.
If you're not lucky enough to have a knowledgeable bicycle parts store near you, you may feel a little lost when your kickstand breaks, your chain just won't go back on anymore, or you simply need to replace a popped tube. Where can you turn? That's easy: shop online!
Online bicycle parts stores can take the guesswork out of getting what you need, with helpful customer reps who can answer questions and recommend the exact components to fit whatever you're riding. Of course, the best stores also have a generous return policy, in the event that you don't get it quite right and need to return or exchange your purchase.
