The Best Business Card Companies

Where Can You Buy the Best Business Cards?

Despite the fact that so many of our interactions today are digital - airdropping contact information, mobile rewards programs, you name it - business cards are hotter than ever. Don't believe it? From Will Smith in Men in Black to Seong Gi-hun in Squid Game, even characters in our favorite movies and TV shows demonstrate how a single business card can change our world forever.

Of course, you may be looking for something a little less drastic: a simple way to let prospective clients know how they can reach you, a place to jot down a patient's next appointment, or a frequent buyer card that can earn your customers a free smoothie on their 10th visit. You don't have to be inviting someone to join a secret organization that tracks alien activities or to participate in a life-or-death game for business cards to be interesting and relevant.

Top Consumer Reviews Best-In-Class Blue Ribbon Award

Zazzle is a marketplace that connects customers with creators and makers. More than 30 million customers have used this platform since 2006. You'll find business card templates in the hundreds of thousands when you use Zazzle.

Over 375,000 business card designs

You're probably not going to want to browse all 375,000+ business card designs here. Talk about overwhelming. As you scroll down the page, you'll see ways to shop by card shape, style, or profession, assuming you don't want to create your design from scratch. But, the most efficient method of finding the right template is to go to where it says, "Popular Business Cards" and either choose one of their featured keywords or click to add filters. Those include material, orientation, size, format, price, events, and occasions, and so on.

Easy-to-use filters and interface

When you've chosen a card that catches your attention, you'll have no trouble getting it customized for your business. Zazzle's personalization tools are intuitive, and you can see plenty of user reviews and images if you need some ideas. You'll also set your size, corner style and paper preferences right away, so that every preview of your design is in place as you make changes.

Work live with a designer for a small fee

Not sure how to get the idea in your mind onto the template? Many people praise Zazzle Live, a service that lets you work in real time with a designer in a 20- to 30-minute session. It's a flat fee starting at $5.99, and you can choose that option on the business card landing page under Design on Demand. Not many printers offer that.

Might not be an option for uploading previous designs

One small downside to Zazzle's business card services is that there's no apparent way to upload a ready-made file and get it printed. Then again, there are plenty of services that offer that, and few competitors provide design templates in the hundreds of thousands. Just be aware that you'll need to choose a different platform if all you need is the print job.

Great prices on business cards and shipping

Prices here are very competitive with other services. You can easily get 100 cards for under $25 in thousands of different styles. And shipping? We don't love the fact that you won't see the delivery fees until you've chosen a payment method and you're ready to check out. That's one area where Zazzle could take a hint from its rivals, to be honest. The good news is that you don't have to actually enter your payment details to see your shipping costs; on our order of 100 cards, our choices included standard delivery within two weeks for $5.96, three days faster for $14.22, one-week delivery for $22.31, or "Zip" with faster manufacturing and delivery, arriving within two business days for $32.31.

Zazzle Black subscriptions can save you money on delivery

But, if you plan on placing a lot of print orders - maybe not just business cards but postcards, name tags, invitations, you name it - you may want to look into Zazzle Black Standard or Premium. Priced at $9.95 and $39.95 per year, respectively, you can get unlimited standard shipping on every order or unlimited 2- to 3-day shipping on all qualifying products. Do the math and you'll see that just ordering business cards twice would make either "Black plan" a money-saver for you.

Thousands of five-star ratings

Over 7,000 customers have given Zazzle a five-star review. Clients have used this company for multiple projects over many years and give lots of compliments about the quality and affordability of the items, fast shipping, and fantastic customer service. And, the reviews on individual business cards tell the same story. It's hard to find a card that hasn't earned all five-star ratings from Zazzle users. We encourage you to take advantage of reading the detailed information provided on any business card you're eyeing, especially the client reviews, because you might find helpful info to make your design even better.

No-hassle satisfaction guarantee

You'll particularly love Zazzle's 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with your business cards for any reason, you can return them for replacement, credit or refund within 30 days of delivery. Any issues on Zazzle's end mean that the return costs are covered by them; otherwise, you're responsible for the cost of sending items back.

Best all-around choice for business cards

There's no other service that can compete with the sheer quantity of design options available at Zazzle. If you want a business card that no one else in your field is likely to have, this is your absolute best starting place. Your cards will be eye-catching, well-printed, and won't break the bank. We love just about everything when it comes to getting print projects done here. Zazzle continues to be our first-place winner among business card companies.

MOO Review 4.5 Star Rating

MOO

4.5 Star Rating
  • About 350 business card designs to choose from, or upload your own
  • Can print a different design on every card - at no extra charge
  • Get a free business card sample pack
  • Prices start at $20 for 50 standard business cards
  • Shipping fees starting at $5.50 (12 business days) to $41.75 (next-day before noon) on a 50-card order
  • "A+" rated by the BBB

MOO offers "great design for everyone" as an online print and design company. Founded in 2006, this award-winning company has six locations across the US and UK - all focused on helping people create print products that will make them (and their companies, organizations, teams, you name it) look fantastic.

Fewer designs, more finishing touches

You've got all three options at MOO: upload your previously-completed business card design, start from scratch and customize every detail, or use one of their 350+ templates to get you started. Other business card printers usually have more ready-made designs, but MOO offers so many upgrades and print features that you'll still come away with a card that's just as unique as your company. Some popular touches you could consider are raised spot gloss, silver foil, letterpress and color seams. Best of all, you can order a business card sample pack, free of charge, with 10 different styles showcasing MOO's paper stocks, card sizes, paper finishes and design accents - all to help you decide which combination will be best for your unique design.

Feature an entire portfolio through your cards

One unique perk that MOO offers is the ability to print a different design on every card in your order. If you've got a portfolio you want to show off - photos, artwork, cabinetry, architecture, and so on - your business cards can feature your best work.

Sign up for the newsletter for one-time free shipping

If you sign up for the weekly "MOOsletter" by entering your email address in the pop-up, you'll get free standard shipping - if you spend at least $40. You may want to consider that, given that MOO's shipping fees start at $5.50 on a 50-card order.

Best Business Card Companies

No problem finding the right card

Enough about the cost: let's get to design. Do you already have a preferred size? Start there. Maybe you've already got a cool finish in mind? Begin with all of the cards that let you have it. Or just scroll down to where it says "See our design templates" and look around at the possibilities. Let's say you've started there. You've got some helpful tools on the left side of the page that can help you not get overwhelmed: check the boxes if you have a particular orientation you like and/or you want to see suggestions specific to an industry (Computing & IT, Actors & Models, Writing & Journalism, and so forth).

Fantastic interface, no hidden costs

There's a lot of fun info on every design here. Curious about how it came together or the person who created it? After you've scratched that itch, click on "Start Making" to put together your business cards. The interface is one of the best we've seen: very easy to spot where you need to enter text or images/logos, plenty of detail and reference images for the finishes and paper options, and no guesswork on pricing.

Exceptional reputation for quality and customer service

Customers can't say enough about how much they love MOO, particularly for business cards. We found over 14,000 five-star ratings from clients who say that these are the highest-quality cards available today - and that MOO has an unparalleled customer support team making sure that every order is practically perfect. The Better Business Bureau agrees, giving this printer their own perfect "A+" rating.

Well worth the money

Yes, you will spend more money getting your business cards from MOO than most of the other printers we evaluated. But if you consider the value and not just the cost, you'll have a tough time finding many companies that can compare with everything you get here. For anyone in an industry where featuring multiple samples of work would be a big plus, MOO is an excellent choice for business cards.

PS Print Review 4 Star Rating

PS Print

4 Star Rating
  • Just over 250 business card designs, or create your own
  • Free business card sample kit
  • All orders run through a 20-point checklist before production
  • 7-day satisfaction guarantee
  • Prices start at $14.99 for 250 business cards (reflects 10% discount)
  • Shipping fees starting at $4.99
  • In business for over 25 years
  • More than 750,000 customers served

As a division of the Deluxe family of companies, PsPrint is like " the little printer that could" . Never heard of them before? That's okay: over 750,000 customers have used their services in the 25 years that PsPrint has been in business. While you'll only find 250 business card designs here, do you really need more styles to choose from if you wind up with a beautiful end result? PsPrint is a great example of quality over quantity.

Get a free sample kit

If you're not sure what type of paper you need, take advantage of PsPrint's free sample kit. It includes samples of their premium paper stocks, a paper sample guide, and additional info to help you decide. That will come in handy if you also need brochures, postcards, or other print materials for your business.

Look for discounts

When you visit the PsPrint site, you may get an offer to save 15% on your first purchase. You'll have to enter your email to get the discount, and it's not valid with any other offers. There was also a 10% off sale sitewide when we looked at the site most recently.

Start from the beginning or use a template

So, you're ready to order your business cards here. What's the first step? Unfortunately, there's no option for uploading any files for cards you've had printed in the past; you'll need to either start from scratch or choose one of PsPrints' 250+ templates. The good news is that the filters on the left side of the page make it almost effortless to find several designs you'll like: size, shape, colors, design style, or industry. The cards in your matching results list let you see all available color choices for that design and the dimensions.

Time to create

When you've chosen your favorite design, the first step is to choose the edge style (rounded, square, and so on), the size, and the color. Next, hit the Personalize button to add text, images, objects or lines. You can also use the Gallery button to get some inspiration from other designs.

Best Business Card Companies

Very affordable

When you're happy with the business card you've created, click to see the price. We were a little confused: when we first started browsing the card options on PsPrint, it referenced a starting price of about $37 for 250 cards; happily, we were given a much lower price when we went to check out (just under $15 for the same quantity). Of course, if you select more premium options for the paper, UV coating, or a production time faster than five business days, your price will change.

Shipping costs are reasonable

There's no free shipping here. On an order of 250 basic business cards with a five-day production timeframe, we could get it delivered in a little less than two weeks for a shipping fee of $4.99. There isn't much reason to choose two-day or next-day shipping unless you change the production time too; the absolute fastest turnaround was one business day production and next-day delivery, bringing the total cost to around $110 on that order of 250 business cards.

Goes the extra mile to double-check

We appreciate that all orders submitted to PsPrint are run through a 20-point checklist before being sent to production. This includes image resolution, borders, image orientation, and text/images within the safety lines (but no, they won't double-check your spelling or make sure you entered your address correctly: that's still on you). They'll reach out to you if they spot any problems, but your order will go to print if they haven't heard back from you within one business day - so that you don't experience any unnecessary delays on time-sensitive print jobs. If you receive your business cards and there's a problem, contact PsPrint within 7 days and they'll work with you to resolve the issue.

A whopping 60,000 five-star reviews

As you'll see when you check out the customer reviews, PsPrint gets high marks from clients. Small business owners frequently comment that this is the only service they'll use because of the low prices and great service. While the business card reviews on the site itself were a little outdated - the most recent one was over 18 months old - we found plenty of newly-entered ratings elsewhere. PsPrint has over 60,000 five-star reviews and another 12,000+ giving the company a respectable four out of five stars.

Great option for simple, high-quality business cards

PsPrint is steady, reliable and easy to use for business cards. Aside from the slight disadvantages of not being able to upload your previous designs and only having a few hundred templates to choose from, there's no reason not to use this service. If you're not into all the bells and whistles and just want to buy your business cards from a service that will get it done right the first time, PsPrint can do that at a price you'll love.

Staples Review 4 Star Rating

Staples

4 Star Rating
  • Over 4,000 business card designs, or upload/create your own
  • Free shipping on orders $50+
  • Prices start at $14.99 for 250 basic business cards
  • Same-day pick-up available
  • "A+" rated by the BBB

Staples is one of several go-to options if you need your business cards printed and ready for pick-up right away. With over 1,000 retail locations throughout the US, you're likely to have a store near you.

Three easy options for business cards

You've got three ways to order business cards at Staples: upload your own file, create one from scratch, or browse their 4,000+ ready-made designs. Their main business cards page shows you the different quality levels, from traditional (and more affordable) to executive cards with a linen texture.

Stylish options for most industries

But, our favorite way to find business cards here is under Shop By Industry. If you're struggling to come up with ideas for how you want to present yourself, jump to the category of your business: examples include Health & Wellness; Construction, Repair & Improvements; Food & Beverage; Real Estate; Associations & Organizations. Once you've selected a category, the filters on the left side of the page let you specify a style (bold, whimsical, classic), color theme, number of photos you want to include, and landscape vs. portrait orientation. If you click on a style you like, you'll be taken directly to the design tool; but, if you want to know more about it before jumping right into the creation stage, hover over the card and look for the "View Details" and "Product Pricing" links below the "Create Now" button.

Minimum order of 250 cards for most paper types

We appreciate how easy it is to see pricing on business cards here. Staples has a handy table that shows you their five paper types (Basic, Standard, Premium, Executive and Ultra-Thick) and what you'll pay for each. On every card type but Ultra-Thick, you'll have to order at least 250 business cards, and prices range from $14.99 to $74.99. Also, your shipping will be free if your order is at least $50.

Watch for discounts

At the time of our most recent visit, Staples was offering a 20% discount on business cards. Be sure to take a look at the top of the page to see if there are any available coupon codes when you're ready to place your order.

Best Business Card Companies

Same-day print and pick up on basic cards

One reason many people choose Staples for business cards is their free same-day pickup option. If you're lucky enough to have a location near you, you can place your order before 2PM and get your cards the same day; orders submitted after that time will be available the next day. You won't find that with an online-only print shop. On the other hand, if you're ordering a paper quality other than Basic, you'll only be able to get your cards via delivery so keep that in mind.

More information, please

Staples could go a little further with their "Print Big Promise" : it says that they're "committed to quality" and "to getting it right every time" , but it stops short of telling you exactly what your options are if you're not satisfied with the way your business cards turn out. Can you get a reprint? A refund? For any reason or only for specific ones? Their higher-ranked competitors usually spell that out in much more detail.

You're on your own

You also won't find much online guidance if you need some help with your design. Staples welcomes you to come into one of their locations if you're looking for ideas or assistance, but other business card companies take it a step beyond by connecting you with options you can use from home (plus, we're not sure how your local Staples measures up, but we would hardly call the employees we encounter at our nearby store's print counter "design experts" ).

Best choice if you need business cards right now

Staples gets high marks for having plenty of business card design options and for giving customers many choices for same-day pickup. If you're in a hurry and you just need a basic card to hand out right away, Staples has you covered. While we'd like to see a more clearly-defined satisfaction guarantee to make this printer more on par with our highest-ranked services, Staples is still worth a look the next time you need business cards.

123 Print Review 3.5 Star Rating

123 Print

3.5 Star Rating
  • Over 800 business card designs to choose from, or create your own
  • Free business card sample kit
  • Pricing starts at $10 for 100 cards
  • Shipping fees range from $7 to $28.60 and up
  • 30-day refund or reprint policy

123Print wants to make getting business cards as simple and straightforward as possible. This one-stop print shop offers transparency in pricing and a commitment to quality you can rely on.

Not the sleekest interface

The initial process for creating business cards at 123Print isn't our favorite: it's a little clunky, and the filters for narrowing down the 800 design templates only let you sort by themes, style, and size. Most printers let you select designs specific to an industry or by a preferred color scheme (we were also a little mind-boggled by the fact that 25% of the business card themes here are animal-related). You can also create your own design, either starting with a blank canvas or uploading a design you've used before or had created for you.

Very affordable and no hidden costs

When you find a design you like, you'll start by using the dropdowns to specify how many you'd like to order, the size and format, one- or two-sided printing, and the paper weight. We like that with each option, you can see exactly how much more you'll pay for an upgrade - and we were surprised to see that some choices brought the price down. The default settings are not the most or the least expensive, so when we looked to see the rock-bottom price for a basic business card, we could get 100 for just over $10. That's one of the lowest costs we've seen anywhere. Also, when you sign up for 123Print's email newsletter, you can save 20% off on your order. Just keep an eye out for the pop-up when you visit the site.

Shipping is more expensive but faster

How about shipping? You can enter your zip code when looking at any card design and get an estimate. In our area, on an order of 100 cards we could pay $7 for US Ground and get our order within 10 calendar days or go all the way up to $28.60 for next-day air (plus several options for 2- and 3-day delivery). That's a little more expensive than some printers, but the delivery timeframes are also a bit faster.

Best Business Card Companies

Easy to see where to add details

Next, you'll customize your business cards. Instead of being filled in with dummy text (that you might forget to change), the tool gives you prompts that gently flash, like "slogan" and "website" . When you're ready to add your cards to the cart, you'll be taken to a final screen that has a box for entering optional order instructions. Be aware that the fine print there says that you may be charged a $15 design fee, depending on what you enter (but no specifics about what kinds of requests would incur that).

How about free samples?

You can get a better feel - literally - for the business cards here by ordering a free business card sample kit. You'll find that option on the main business card landing page and it'll come with all of the available paper choices and sizes offered by 123Print.

Lots of highly satisfied clients

123Print has a lot of happy customers. Almost 90% of them say the service is great or excellent, with more than 3200 five-star ratings. Many of those reviews come from long-term clients who use 123Print to get their orders fast and done right the first time. We're always glad to see comments like "never been disappointed here" and "always my go-to for business cards" . Complaints about 123Print are rare, but when they do happen it's a good sign that the support team responds quickly and professionally with an appropriate resolution of the problem. You're also protected by a 30-day reprint or refund policy, if your business cards arrive and they're not printed properly or there's another quality issue.

Solid design, pricing and service

Good business cards, good pricing, good service: get the impression that 123Print is a good choice? The platform and card options are missing a few of the snazzy upgrades that can make for a really unique (and expensive) business card, but if your priorities are mostly having a printer that's budget-friendly and reliable in quality, you've got that and then some with 123Print.

PG Print Review 3.5 Star Rating

PG Print

3.5 Star Rating
  • Over 1,300 business card designs, or create your own
  • "A+" rated and accredited by the BBB
  • Prices start at $8.28 for 50 cards (and $11.57 for shipping)
  • Guaranteed to be correct and on time

PGprint got its start in 1982 as a commercial printing business, expanding to include an online storefront in 2010. Headquartered in Georgia, the team at PGprint offers superior service and high-quality printing to individual consumers and corporations alike.

Logical process for creating a business card

PGprint starts out assuming you've got at least a general idea of the type of business card you want: enough that you can specify the size, quantity, paper type, desired shipping timeframe, and whether you want it printed on both sides. You'll select those in the dropdown boxes, and click on "More Options" if you also have a preference on the corner shape and coating. Don't worry, you can always change those settings later. Enter your shipping zip code to see estimated shipping fees, and then click the corresponding button for uploading your own previously-completed design, designing a new card from scratch, or browsing PGprint's 1,300+ templates.

Could use a few more filters

Assuming you want at least a head-start on your card by using one of their designs, you'll need to choose an industry if you don't want to browse all of them. We would have liked to see more filter options - by color, size, style (like modern, classic, trendy, whimsical) or even landscape vs. portrait orientation. Some of the category filters aren't super-helpful, either: as an example, the "Best Friends" option included pets, people and plants in the design.

Shipping date updates automatically as you customize

When you finally discover that perfect template, it's time to customize. The interface won't catch you off-guard in any way: all you have to do is tweak the text and change the graphics as needed, nothing unusual here. On the next page you'll have the option to view a PDF proof of your business card or pay $49.99 to get a hard copy before you order. Confirm the size, quantity, paper type and production timeframe on your cards, and then enter your zip code to choose your shipping speed. The absolute fastest you can get your cards is by choosing next business day production and priority overnight shipping - just watch out for weekends, since those won't count as business days. As you select the production time, your ship date will automatically update.

Best Business Card Companies

Higher shipping fees than most rivals

As we discovered in our previous evaluation of PGprint, you'll usually pay more for shipping here than you spend on the business cards themselves. On a basic design, the minimum order is 50 cards for $8.28 - but the ground delivery fee is $11.57. Choose priority overnight (and remember that doesn't take into account the 1-3 days of production time) and your shipping cost jumps to $92.36. Where they save you on the cards, they get you in the delivery - but it's still competitively priced overall.

Long tradition of quality products and service

PGprint was a pleasant surprise in the reputation department. They've got an "A+" and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau - and zero complaints registered there. Ever. Beyond that, there were over 1500 customers who left a five-star review for this print company, and only six who gave it just one or two stars. It's always a plus to see repeat clients, and plenty of the people leaving those reviews have used PGprint for many years, on multiple projects, all with fabulous results.

Strong guarantee

One reason customers love PGprint is their 100% guarantee. If your business cards have any issues with quality (not typos or other errors on your part) or they don't arrive on time, you can either get a reprint or a full refund.

Does the basics very well

PGprint gives you a decent selection of business cards at reasonable prices, and their track record for timely deliveries and on-point customer service is very reassuring. You won't find all of the fancy finishes and cutting-edge designs here, but don't be afraid to use PGprint if you just need a budget-friendly, basic business card.

VistaPrint Review 3 Star Rating

VistaPrint

3 Star Rating
  • Over 6,700 business card designs, or upload your own
  • Can work with a designer via video chat to design your card
  • Prices start at 100 cards for $17
  • Shipping costs based on order total
  • "A+" rated by the BBB

VistaPrint was founded by Robert Keane in 1995 and aims to help small businesses "own the now" . What does that mean? This company offers custom marketing products: not just the billions of business cards printed over the last 25+ years but also flyers, signs, invitations and more, with access to design experts if needed.

Two options for professional design help

VistaPrint offers the ability to work with a designer via video chat if you want that extra professional touch for your business cards. You can either share your design idea with an in-house designer at VistaPrint, who will create a bespoke card and review it with you in real time with a 24-hour turnaround and up to three rounds of revisions. Or, you can choose a designer through VistaPrint's partner 99designs: browse portfolios, hire and collaborate with your selected designer, and wind up with a truly one-of-a-kind business card. We were impressed that the first option only cost $10 (or, at the time of our review, $8.00 with promo code FIRSTORDER), and we were able to schedule a time to go over our design right in the shopping cart process. Pricing on the 99designs option will depend on your unique needs, but we don't imagine it will be as inexpensive as the in-house VistaPrint designer.

Many different templates and finishes

Of course, if you're in a hurry, you can always upload your existing business card design or use one of VistaPrints 6,700+ templates. You've got plenty of ways to sort through those: use the filters to narrow the available designs by shape (standard or square only), corner style, finishes like embossed gloss or foil accent, industry, styles and themes, logo/photo area, orientation, and color. What about paper thickness and stock? You'll select those after you design your card.

Average prices, no next-day shipping available

Pricing at VistaPrint lands right in the middle: you can expect to pay at least $17 for 100 front-side-only business cards, plus shipping fees of $6.99 for standard delivery (8 business days). There's no option here for overnight/next-day delivery; the fastest VistaPrint can get your order to you is 3-4 business days, and you'll pay anywhere from $24.99 to $34.99 for that speed.

Best Business Card Companies

Reprints, not refunds

We're not a big fan of VistaPrint's satisfaction guarantee. It says that they'll do everything to make it right if your business cards don't meet your expectations. But, reading through customer feedback online, it sounds like the main way this company handles that is by offering a merchandise credit. People complain that the last thing they want is to spend their time trying all over again to get the result they wanted when VistaPrint messed it up the first time. It doesn't sound like it's easy to just get a refund here.

Not impressed with VistaPrint's reputation

That matters because VistaPrint's overall reputation is fairly average. The company gets an "A+" from the Better Business Bureau, and there wasn't an overwhelming number of complaints filed there: just under two dozen in the last year. Looking elsewhere, however, we found that just over half of their clients rate them with five stars (excellent) but a full third gives VistaPrint the lowest possible rating (bad). Will you love it or hate it if you order your business cards here? It could go either way, apparently. While some people say that they have used VistaPrint for years and are consistently satisfied with the product quality and delivery times, others - particularly recently - have said that the quality has declined, orders are late or go completely missing, and customer service isn't as responsive as they expected.

Middle of the road

We have mixed feelings about VistaPrint. In some ways, they stand out above the competition, with affordable design services and ample templates to choose from. And yet, they come up short in some pretty essential ways, like only offering rectangular and square shapes and, more importantly, failing to live up to their satisfaction guarantee. You could come away with amazing business cards here, or you could be disappointed. It might be wise to check out our highest-ranked services first, and circle back to VistaPrint if you don't find what you're looking for.

  • "A+" rated and accredited by the BBB

Office Depot is a leading provider of business supplies and services, with over 1,000 brick-and-mortar stores in addition to their online storefront. Their retail store presence means that this is one of a small number of options if you need your business cards printed and ready for same-day pickup.

Most cards fulfilled somewhere else

Office Depot has outsourced a big portion of their business card options to Canva (a service you'll find reviewed separately). When you look for anything under "standard business cards" , you'll only have two choices: upload your own files that you've made previously or click the link to be taken to the Canva platform. A few card types, like Magnetic and Raised Print, can still be ordered directly through Office Depot, but it felt pretty hit-or-miss trying to figure out which ones wouldn't send us over to the other service.

Same-day or 7 days?

Let's say you do find a business card you like that can be fulfilled by Office Depot. What's next? You'll follow the standard routine: choose the card, customize it to reflect your information, and then indicate how soon you need them. For a raised print design we selected, our options were either 3-7 business days or "I need them today" . The next page tells you pricing: we could get a box of 250 cards for $41.99, 500 cards for $28.49 per box, all the way up to 5,000 cards for $9.99 per box. For what it's worth, Office Depot will match the price on business cards sold by a few of their rivals (including Staples, who you'll also find in our reviews), up to 14 days after your order.

Not hard to customize your cards

The rest of the process is simple. You'll be asked to confirm the design of your card, and you'll be prompted to double-check areas where you might have gone outside the recommended borders (your image might be cut off). Once you give final approval, you can add your business cards to your shopping cart and any available discounts will be applied automatically at checkout. That's it.

Business cards aren't a priority here

Since our last evaluation of Office Depot as a business card provider, their print services seem to have taken a backseat to their other offerings. Not only are they funneling most of their options over to Canva, but they no longer advertise a "Done Right, On Time, Guaranteed" policy. We searched through their site to see what kinds of promises they make - about the quality of their printing, delivery/production timeframes, and so on - and came up empty-handed.

Try another printer first

There's nothing obviously bad about buying business cards through Office Depot, particularly if you need the option of an in-store pickup sooner rather than later. However, if you need design recommendations, you'll probably be directed over to the Canva site anyway. With so many rival services out there, Office Depot winds up looking pretty average when it comes to business cards.

Canva Review 2 Star Rating

Canva

2 Star Rating
  • Over 5,500 business card templates
  • Pricing starts at 50 business cards for $10
  • Free standard shipping

Canva was launched in 2013 as an online design and publishing tool. Since then, more than seven billion designs have been created on the platform, with over 60 million monthly users in 190 countries. You may already be familiar with Canva for your marketing and social media efforts, but should you use it for getting your business cards printed? Maybe not. Read on and decide for yourself.

No way to print previous card designs

One obvious way Canva isn't quite as robust as its rivals: there's no option for uploading files if you've already got a business card designed and ready to go, and all you need is the printing part. Canva more or less assumes that you want their design tools and templates.

Helpful hints for creating business cards

You'll find lots of inspiration on the Business Cards page, plus helpful general information like what you should include on your cards and tips on choosing font styles and sizes. Jump right to the "Create a business card" purple button when you're ready to start. If it's your first time on Canva, you'll get a pop-up video showing you how to use the platform to design your card (or anything else, really).

Not very intuitive to find suitable designs

Right off the bat, we felt irritated with Canva's interface for business card templates. We really didn't want to scroll through lots of different categories and industries, and the filter button in the search bar only let us specify color and language. You can search by industry or other keywords like "classic" or "trendy" , but that can be very hit-or-miss.

Best Business Card Companies

Many designs only available to paid subscribers

You'll also soon see that most of the business card designs are marked with a little gold crown. That indicates it's only available for Canva Pro subscribers: you can get a 7-day free trial, but after that you'll pay $9.99/month (for up to five people) on a yearly plan. Do you really want to jump through those hoops for a design, when competitors give you thousands of similar options at no extra charge?

Free standard shipping

In the event that you find a design you love - after all, maybe you're already a Canva Pro subscriber - you'll make all the changes you need to the template. What's next? We were confused for a bit, but then we spotted the "Print Business Cards" button in the upper-right corner of the page. There, you'll specify all of your print options, from paper quality to finish and quantity. Basic business cards start at $10 for 50, with a maximum quantity of 2,000 for $180 and free standard shipping on all orders. And yes, to get to the final order stage, you'll have to create a (free) Canva account.

Too many unhappy Canva users

Not that bad so far, but Canva also doesn't have as much positive customer feedback as we'd like to see. We recognize that the vast majority of complaints revolve around the platform and not specifically business cards - but since using the website is the only way to order those cards, it could still cause you problems. Over 70% of people leaving a rating for Canva gave it a "poor" or "bad" rating. Comments frequently describe issues with getting a response from customer service, disappointment with the paid Pro memberships, and print orders damaged during shipment. You should be aware that their "customer happiness guarantee" on print items will only give you a refund if your order isn't received; otherwise, you can only get a reprint with no changes to the original design. Ironically, we only found a handful of five-star reviews, and most of them were praising Canva's business card print services.

Lots of room for improvement

Still, is that enough to convince you to use Canva instead of another platform? Unless you're already using it for other things and it would be more streamlined to have the logos and other resources you've created there, you may not want to invest the time (or money) ordering your business cards from this service. Canva earns one of our lowest ratings.

Overnight Prints Review 1 Star Rating

Overnight Prints

1 Star Rating
  • Over 2,000 business card designs or upload your own
  • BITGIT (Buy It Today Get It Tomorrow) option
  • Prices start at $5.60 for 25 cards

Overnight Prints launched in 2003. It's one of the only major online printing companies that uses waterless printing methods, allowing them to print your business cards in a more environmentally-friendly way.

Numerous options for shape, size and design

Your business card order starts by choosing a paper type (premium, thick, or sandwich) or a shape (circle, square, mini or Euro). Or, if you click on the red "Get Started" button, it'll take you to the default option of the standard size and paper quality. Then, you'll upload a previously-completed design, start with a blank slate, or use one of Overnight Prints' templates for inspiration. There are over 2,000 ready-made designs to consider here, and you can use the filters to narrow them down by orientation, industry, style or occasion. In your matching results list, it's easy to see what color options are available, and you can click on them to get a preview of each one.

Tools make business card creation easy

The customization tool is straightforward here. Modify the text to reflect your business details, upload any images you want to include, and watch out for the safe zone and bleed size as you make changes. On the next screen, you'll confirm your card material (or switch it if you've changed your mind), select any desired coating options like full gloss or soft touch laminate (make sure to specify that for both the front and back of the business cards), and if you'd like rounded corners.

Super-competitive prices

Finally, at the bottom, you'll select the quantity and see your pricing. Although the main business cards page at Overnight Prints said that we could order 25 cards starting at $5.60, all of the basic designs we selected had a minimum quantity of 50 for $10.86. It defaulted to an order of 500 cards for a discounted price of $46.02 at the time of this evaluation.

No guaranteed delivery dates, only estimates

Enter your zip code to see your shipping timeframes and prices. On an order of 500 cards, we could pay anywhere from $7.96 for delivery in just under two weeks, up to $35.46 for next-day service. Unfortunately, their FAQ clearly states that all delivery dates are just an estimate; Overnight Prints doesn't guarantee arrival no matter which shipping speed you pay for.

$1 for an extra review process

Be aware that when you click the Continue button, "you agree that the spelling, content, and layout of your design are correct" : they're not going to do the proofreading for you. On the following page you can pay an extra $1 for a file review, but that also excludes spelling or punctuation errors, color, and picture quality: we guess that means they just check to see that everything falls within those safe zones and bleed size.

Filtered reviews?

Maybe you looked at the shopper reviews on the site, saw a bunch of recent five-star ratings and now you wonder why we've only given this company our lowest rating. Let's just say that we're not sure those on-site reviews are legit - at a minimum, they're likely to be heavily filtered to only show the four- and five-star ratings. Why do we say that? The Better Business Bureau rates this printer as an "F" , with over 120 complaints filed there in the last year.

Customer complaints

Customers rant (and rightly so) about orders that go undelivered well past the promised arrival date - and then Overnight Prints' failure to issue a refund or express-ship a reprint. There's definitely no "overnight" on any of the products printed here: it seems you're lucky if you even get your order, let alone quickly. That's ironic, given that they offer a "Buy It Today, Get It Tomorrow (BITGIT)" delivery option that "no other printing company can say the same" . Great, but you don't exactly make that happen either, Overnight Prints.

Many reports of poor quality

And, even if your business cards do arrive, chances are high that you're not going to be happy with their quality. Lots of people say that the colors were drastically different from the approved proofs, card backs were printed upside down, text looked smudged or blurry, and so on.

Better choices elsewhere

More than one thousand customers have rated Overnight Prints with the lowest possible one out of five stars - and we do too. Poor quality, slow-to-nonexistent shipping, and terrible customer service make this printer a company to bypass when ordering business cards.

Continued from above...

Ordering your cards online is the easiest way to get the job done. You already have your logo saved to your laptop or phone, and there are plenty of services that make it simple to add it to a business card design. Even if you're starting completely from scratch, you can browse templates that match your industry and choose the look that will help you stand out. Some services give you the option to work with a designer to get just the right fonts, colors and arrangements for the style you've got in mind.

With literally hundreds of print services out there, all with numerous designs to choose from, it can feel pretty daunting getting started. Which one should you choose for your business card order? Try looking for these criteria as you decide:

  • Variety of templates. A service that only lets you choose from a small handful of (similar) designs may leave you with the same tired business cards people have been using for years. Sometimes more really is better.
  • Ease of use. There's no need to have a stressful experience designing your cards. Select a printer that makes it straightforward to create them or upload a design you used previously.
  • Design services. Maybe you'd like a professional to look over your business card before you send it to production. If so, there are a handful of print companies who include that in their services, sometimes complimentary and other times for a fee.
  • Satisfaction guarantee. Make sure you've got options if your cards arrive and they're not what you expected.
  • Reputation. Most business card printers have had thousands and thousands of orders placed there over the years. What do their customers say? Does the company have a loyal following of clients who use them for all of their print projects? Are they generally satisfied with the print quality and the value of their business cards?

To help you find the best business cards, TopConsumerReviews.com has evaluated and ranked the most popular print companies on the market today. We're confident that this information will make it fast - and maybe even fun! - to get your new business cards in hand.

Business Card Company FAQ

Yes! Even though we live in such a digital world, most companies and independent contractors still use business cards. They're a great way to keep your business top-of-mind when someone has a need for your type of services.
Great question! Most business cards have, at a minimum, your name and contact information: phone, email, address (if relevant). Your company's name and logo, website URL, and any specifics about your business will also be helpful. If you're doing a two-sided card, the back side can be used to feature services you offer, social media accounts, licensing or insurance details, and so on.
There's really no hard and fast rule about what shouldn't go on a business card. But, you do want to ensure that your cards are readable: no typos, tiny print, or clutter with words or graphics.
Not at all. You can usually get 100 for under $15 with most providers of business cards. And, the more you order at once, the bigger the discount is likely to be.
The first thing to decide is if you want them to be paper or magnetic. Are you hoping that people will file your card away in their wallets or stick it to their refrigerators? Another consideration is single- vs. double-sided. If you have a lot of relevant information to convey - you're a home repair specialist who can do plumbing, electrical and painting, for example - you may want to use the front for your name and contact information and the back to list your services. There are also flat and folded business cards, various sizes to choose from, glossy vs. matte, and other design options you can use to make your cards stand out among the crowd.
There aren't many brick-and-mortar stores offering business card printing these days. Sure, you could go to a Big Box Office Supply Store near you, but you're likely to come away with generic-looking business cards that don't leave an impression on prospective customers. Using a reputable online printer helps you get a one-of-a-kind business card with all the options you want - and usually at a better price than you'll get from those chain office retailers.
If you're in a hurry, some printers can get your cards to you within two business days. You'll pay extra for the expedited service, of course. Most business card providers have turnaround times ranging from 1-3 weeks when you choose the standard production and delivery timeframe.
It depends on the print service you select. Some offer no refunds at all, while others will only give you your money back if there's an error on their part. However, a small number of companies take customer satisfaction to a higher level: they offer a hassle-free guarantee that lets you get a refund no matter what, usually within 30 days of delivery.
