Where Should You Buy Business Checks?  In a world where everything from payroll to invoicing can be handled online, business checks might seem like a relic from the past - but they're still going strong in many industries. Whether you're paying vendors, issuing refunds, or managing internal expenses, paper checks continue to offer reliability, control, and professionalism. For many small to mid-sized businesses, a checkbook isn't just a backup - it's part of daily operations.
Bank Checks Plus is a company run (behind the scenes) by our #2 pick Carousel Checks, so many of the same strengths apply: solid security features, a satisfaction guarantee, and same-day shipping for laser checks if you meet the cutoff. But compared to its parent company, Bank Checks Plus offers a more limited selection and a simpler site design. Let's take a closer look.
Good prices, fewer options
They advertise deep discounts here - up to 70% off bank prices - and competitive software compatibility. But unlike Carousel, this site doesn't offer advanced formats like photo background or pressure seal checks. You'll find standard voucher, desk, and pocket checks, and can add a logo or select signature line formats, but Bank Checks Plus isn't where you're going to go for tons of design options. Still, the pricing is notably lower than most rival business check printers, and you'll even pay less here than for the same checks over at Carousel: on the business checks we used to compare prices at the printers in our review, we could get 50 basic voucher-style laser/inkjet checks for just $16.99 at Bank Checks Plus.
Most of the same upgrade choices
Even when you're paying less at Bank Checks Plus, you'll still be able to get most of the same design upgrades when you're setting up how your business checks will look. You can add clipart, a premium font, or a signature line message for $3.50 each, or upload your own custom logo for $5. Also, all of the same accounting and other software platforms that you'll see at Carousel Checks are listed here, from Peachtree to Sage and quite a few in between.
Shipping and handling disclosed during checkout
But, just like many of the business check printers we reviewed, Bank Checks Plus waits until you get to the checkout to tell you what you'll pay for shipping and handling. On our order of 50 voucher-style checks, we were offered trackable shipping in 6-10 business days for $10.19, and there was a $5 handling fee added as well. We could also opt for in-plant rush for an extra $5.50. And, on a positive note, we were glad to see that there was no default fraud protection applied to our order; Bank Checks Plus makes that an opt-in, not an opt-out upgrade.
Trustworthy but not flashy
Bank Checks Plus carries an "A+" BBB rating with almost no complaints, which speaks well to its reliability. It generally scores around 4.5 stars on Trustpilot too, with customers praising quality, pricing, and fast delivery. Still, the lack of branding that ties it to Carousel means you may not realize you're getting the same parent-company support. That's not a bad thing - after all, Carousel Checks is the #2 business check printer on our list - but it feels a little sneaky when Bank Checks Plus doesn't come out and tell you who's the man behind the curtain (can you name the movie reference?).
A decent no-frills option
Bank Checks Plus earns a solid rating from us. You're getting a trustworthy product from a reliable provider, with reasonable pricing and secure features. But the pared-down catalog plus the fact it hides its connection to Carousel mean it's a good fallback, not a first-choice solution. For the full suite of options and clearer experience, you'd still want to go with Carousel Checks directly (but it's not a bad idea to circle back to Bank Checks Plus and see if they have the Carousel Checks you're considering... at a lower price).
Continued from above...
Business checks aren't the same as the personal ones you keep tucked in a drawer at home. They're built for security, efficiency, and brand presentation. You might not think much about the design of your checks or the platform you use to print and reorder them, but choosing the right check provider can actually make a big difference in your workflow. From fraud prevention to ease of integration with accounting software, there's more going on here than meets the eye.
Many business owners like having physical checks on hand because it gives them an extra layer of financial control. You can decide exactly when a payment leaves your account, keep clearer records for each transaction, and even include memos or notes without jumping through digital hoops. In industries where vendors prefer - or even require - checks (think contractors, landlords, and certain service providers), they're still the go-to method.
Another reason business checks remain relevant? Customization. Your company name, logo, address, and even the check layout can be tailored to reflect your brand. That might sound like a small detail, but when you're handing out payments to vendors, customers, or partners, a polished-looking check adds a touch of credibility that a generic one just doesn't.
Of course, not all check providers are equal. Some focus on affordability, while others emphasize high-security features or seamless integration with popular accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or Peachtree. Others might specialize in rush orders, eco-friendly paper, or multi-part carbonless checks for recordkeeping. If you're shopping around, it's worth taking a closer look at what's included - especially if you want your check orders to be hassle-free and aligned with how you already do business.
So, what should you look for in a business check provider? Keep these criteria in mind:
To help you choose the best option for your business checks, the experts at Top Consumer Reviews have researched and ranked some of today's most popular providers. You may not use these checks every day, but when you do, you want them to work exactly how you need them to - securely, efficiently, and without surprises.
