Goldbelly is a delivery service that brings unique, mouthwatering, and just plain fun cakes from some of the best bakeries in the country straight to your door. They started out in 2013 as an online marketplace for selecting and delivering yummy regional and artisanal foods. Goldbelly cherry-picks only the best of the best for their customers. When you check out their website, you can't help but feel the festive vibe - almost as awesome as the cakes themselves.

Take a taste journey without leaving home

Feeling a hankering for a Southern Coconut Cake from Sugaree's in Mississippi? Or maybe you're in the mood for a classic Tiramisu from NYC's classic Ferrara Bakery? What about a sweet and simple Huckleberry Cheesecake from Elle's Belles? With Goldbelly, you can have all these heavenly desserts and more from across the country. Their delivery options include traditional cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and even crispy cakes, offering a variety of scrumptious treats with every shipment.

$75/month for just 8-12 servings of cake, FYI

You can have your Goldbelly cake club last for three, six, nine, or twelve months. No matter which one you choose, you'll pay $74.95 per month (delivery is included in the price). That's twice as much as some of the cake subscriptions we evaluated, while still offering the same number of servings (8-12). Fortunately, Goldbelly allows you to use Klarna if you'd rather pay for your membership in installments instead of upfront.

Not the most intuitive for gift-giving

Gift-giving is a possibility here: just put your recipient's info in as you fill out the checkout page: But, be aware that they'll get the announcement right away and that might spoil a surprise if you're having the cake club sent at a later time. Goldbelly recommends that you put your email address in the recipient field, and then you can forward or print the announcement later. That's not quite as smooth and gifting-friendly as some of Goldbelly's rivals, but it is what it is.

Company has plenty of fans

Goldbelly is known for their trendy, modern style, and professional approach that's infused with personality. With numerous positive reviews and a ton of press coverage, it's clear that they are doing something right. Goldbelly is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and has over 10,000 five-star customer ratings (averaging 4.7 out of 5 total) on Trustpilot.

Not necessarily the most for your money

However, Goldbelly's prices are quite steep - and that's not always a possibility. If their product quality was notably better than their competitors, then maybe their prices would be justifiable. However, we believe there are other outstanding options that won't put such a dent in your wallet. If you're looking to splurge, then Goldbelly's cake club is a great option. But if you're looking for high-quality products at a fair price, you might find a better alternative higher up on our list.

Which Cake Club is the Best?

Cake clubs offer an enticing opportunity for people to indulge in their favorite treat every month. Whether you want to treat yourself or give a cake club membership as a gift, you can depend on something delicious to arrive at your doorstep every month. While some people may be hesitant to receive cake deliveries, many cake club companies have addressed these concerns by ensuring quality control during the logistics of shipping and by offering a variety of flavors and experiences.

Compared to mass-produced cake boxes and supermarket bakery aisles, cake clubs provide a wider range of quality and selection. Many cake clubs even operate with particular values and ethics that appeal not only to customers' taste buds but also to their character. With cakes delivered from all over the country, you could taste a whole new world of flavors.

Cake Club FAQ

Not from a supermarket chain assembly line, that's for sure! Cake clubs go out of their way to bring you the most mouth-watering goodies, often from small bakeries around the nation.
The real question is, how often would you like to get a fresh cake on your doorstep? Select among monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly cake clubs, with plans lasting anywhere from three months to a year.
You'll pay anywhere from $20 to $70 per delivery, depending on the cake club provider you choose. Considering what you'd spend at a local grocery store to get a cake, or how much it costs to buy a cake from a specialty bakery, those prices are right on the money.
Sometimes. You'll want to read the terms of each cake club membership to see if delivery fees are part of your monthly price: over the course of a year-long plan, paying $5 to $10 for each shipment will really add up. Fortunately, some cake clubs include your shipping fees in their monthly pricing.
Almost always. No reputable business wants to get negative customer feedback for making deliveries that don't arrive in good condition or that taste bad. You should be able to get a refund or replacement if anything isn't quite right with your cake.
Of course! While there are always new cake clubs popping up, some subscription plans have been around for ten years or more. It's helpful to check out customer reviews of both new and established businesses, to ensure that the cake club you select will be a winner.
You'll likely get a newsletter with your cake club shipment each month. They usually have fun articles about cake, details about where your cake was made, and maybe even recommended pairings with fruit or beverages. A few providers of cake club memberships let you add on items like stuffed animals or flowers for an extra fee.
Yes! Wouldn't you love it if someone surprised YOU with a cake subscription? Cake clubs are a wonderfully unique gift-giving option, and you can usually include a personalized message with your delivery. You may even be able to have a gift announcement sent to your lucky recipient via email on
