Lab to Beauty Review 2.5 Star Rating

Lab to Beauty

2.5 Star Rating
  • CBD- and CBG-infused beauty products plus oil and gummies
  • Free shipping and samples on orders of $50+
  • 30-day return policy on unused and "gently used" products

Lab to Beauty gets its inspiration from the farm-to-table movement in their "plants first" clean products. While you'll find a small selection of CBD oil and gummies here, this store's main focus is spa-like, CBG- and CBD-infused treatments for your hair, face and body.

Spa-like CBD beauty products

If you're looking for anti-aging skin care, lotion to soothe inflammation, or just a killer shampoo/conditioner combo that will leave your hair smelling salon-fresh on the regular, you'll find those in Lab to Beauty's store. If you read "spa" and "salon" and thought "expensive" , you're not wrong. Expect pricing in the neighborhood of $40 for a 4-oz bottle of Balancing Face Wash, $46 for an 8-oz bottle of Nourishing Shampoo, and $75 for a 2-oz bottle of the Omega Fatty Facial Moisturizer. Just don't expect that the CBD and CBG in those products will have benefits for your mood, anxiety, or pain management. You'll have to shop under the Wellness tab to find the drops and gummies they sell for those needs.

Not a lot of information provided

Lab to Beauty's drops and gummies are clearly not their priority. Not only are they much more expensive than the competition ($50 for a 1-oz bottle of drops, for example), but there's remarkably little information about them. How much CBD is there in the bottle? How concentrated is it? This is one of the few companies that doesn't tell you - and that doesn't make lab testing reports readily available either.

Better-than-expected refund policy

But, Lab to Beauty has a solid return policy. If your CBD products don't meet your expectations, you can return them in "unused or gently used" condition within 30 days for a full refund. We take this to mean that you can return it if you've tried it for a little while, not the entire bottle/package/etc.

Very few product reviews

That's reassuring, because the products sold here don't have many shopper reviews. Some have no comments at all, while others maybe have 10-20. These definitely are not the most frequently-bought CBD items on the market!

Try it for a CBD beauty routine, but not much else

We're all for treating ourselves to some luxury at home, and using CBD and CBG as part of a healthy skin/hair/body routine is an intriguing possibility. This may be the only place you'll find beauty products with those hemp derivatives. On the other hand, for those who want the benefits that come from taking CBD internally, the options here are limited - both in what you can buy and in the information that is (or isn't) provided about them. Until Lab to Beauty gets more customer feedback and offers more details about their products, they're going to have a hard time measuring up against the higher-rated stores in our review.

Where Can You Buy the Best CBD Products Online?

Ever since hemp was removed from being considered a controlled substance (courtesy of the 2018 Farm Bill), interest in CBD products has grown exponentially. Why? There's plenty of evidence to suggest that CBD can help people manage anxiety, alleviate pain, and many other benefits - all without the "high" associated with marijuana use.

Wait, what? I can use CBD without psychoactive effects? Legally? Those are some of the first questions people have before trying CBD-infused gummies or adding a few drops of tincture to their morning coffee. First, yes: CBD products are required to have less than 0.3% THC in order to be legal - and THC is the component of the plant extract that gives you that certain...lift.

CBD FAQ

CBD stands for cannabidiol. It's one of 100+ cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp - and that occur naturally in our own bodies! When CBD interacts with receptors in our system, it can help ease pain, boost mood, improve memory and regulate appetite, among many other benefits.
The two main pathways for using CBD are internal or topical. Oils and gummies are the most popular ways for ingesting it, especially when being used to address issues like anxiety, insomnia or PTSD. Topical CBD products include salves, balms, pain patches and even beauty products like shampoo and facial cleansers. They're used to take advantage of CBD's anti-inflammatory properties and other benefits, not necessarily for a mood boost.
That depends on where you live. Possession of CBD products is legal in most states, but not all of them. Your state may require you to be registered as a medical marijuana patient (even if your CBD comes from hemp). Read up on your state's laws before making your purchase, but rest assured if it's not legal where you live, you probably won't be allowed to buy it from most reputable CBD online stores once you enter your zip code!
The short answer is no: THC is the component of cannabis that makes people feel high, and federal law prohibits the sale of CBD products with more than 0.3% THC. Will you feel relaxed, less stressed, and maybe better all-around? That's the goal.
Think of the "entourage effect" like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Bread is tasty, so is peanut butter, and jelly too. But put it all together and you get something that's much more delicious than the individual ingredients alone. CBD is just one compound that comes from the plant: the research suggests that when you take CBD in conjunction with other compounds (such as terpenes, CBG, or CBC), you'll get more results as they work together.
That depends. If you choose a CBD oil with a very high concentration of cannabinoids, you could pay over $100 for a bottle that lasts 30 days or more. You could also pay under $15 for a bag of lower-dose fruit-flavored gummy rings. But, if the CBD product you choose delivers the results you've been hoping for - less anxiety? reduced pain? better sleep? - it'll be worth the investment!
CBD retailers have varying customer satisfaction guarantees. Some offer no refunds for any reason, or only if you're sending back an unopened product. Fortunately, there are several reputable CBD stores that give you 30 days or more to try what you buy - and if it doesn't work for you, you can get all of your money back. (We recommend buying CBD products from a retailer that offers that kind of hassle-free guarantee!)
Generally speaking, yes. CBD has exploded in popularity, and many people interested in trying it out don't have a way to source it locally. There are plenty of reputable online retailers who make high-quality CBD products and sell them direct-to-consumer. We recommend that you check out the reputation of any CBD store you're considering: ample customer reviews and a relatively long history in the business are two good signs that you can trust a retailer with your CBD journey.

Continued from above...

However, if you've been enduring chronic pain and CBD helps you move freely, or the anxiety that has pinned you down disappears after taking CBD products regularly, why wouldn't you feel a lot lighter and in an elevated mood?

That being said, CBD products aren't 100% unrestricted in all 50 states. About a third of them have strong regulations still in place: you may need to be registered as a medical marijuana patient to take them without running the risk of being charged with possession. Before stocking up on CBD edibles and lotions, you'll want to be well-versed in the laws where you live.

If you've started looking around for a place to buy CBD products online, you've already seen that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of retailers that are very eager to get your business. It can be daunting trying to figure out which one is the best! Want some help? Here are a few helpful guidelines you can use to cut to the chase and get your CBD from a trustworthy source:

  • Transparency: The best CBD retailers go to great lengths to show you how their products are made - from where the hemp is grown to how it measures up under independent lab analysis. Get your CBD products from a store that gives you as much information as you might want (even if you don't understand it all just yet).
  • Variety: You may need a different concentration of CBD after you've used it for a while. Choosing a store with plenty of options lets you change it up as needed, without having to find yet another place to buy what you need to get a higher (or lower) concentration, a different format (like oils vs. edibles), and so on.
  • Satisfaction Guarantee: CBD is rarely dirt cheap, and it's definitely not a one-size-fits-all process. The best CBD retailers make it as risk-free as possible financially by letting you try it for 30-90 days and get your money back if it doesn't deliver the benefits you wanted.
  • Customized Product Recommendations and Advice: Not even sure where to start? Look for a CBD retailer that includes free consultations both pre- and post-purchase. You can tell them what issues you're hoping to address, and they'll walk you through a series of questions to determine which CBD product (if any) is right for you. They can also help you tweak your dosage along the way if you're experiencing side effects you didn't anticipate or not seeing improvements as quickly as expected.
  • Customer Feedback: What do shoppers have to say about their experience with the various CBD products and the store itself? You'll find items with hundreds of user reviews, and some with zero. Let other people do some of the trial-and-error, and take advantage of their honest evaluations of the products when possible.
