Each month, members of The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club receive three freshly-cut half-pound blocks of artisanal cheeses selected from around the world. You could receive cheese that originated in France, Italy, and other places known for their impeccable tastes - all in one box!
The gourmet cheese club costs $38.95/month plus $14.00 for shipping and handling. The flexibility of deliveries at The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club is unmatched!
Opportunities for discounts
At the time of this review, there was a limited time promotion (that we imagine is actually offered frequently) where you could get $10, $15, or $30 off of your monthly subscriptions with a discount code depending on the frequency of your deliveries. In addition, you will receive periodic promotions in your inbox if you provide your email address to The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club.
The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club stands behind their products with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This ensures that everything you buy from them will meet your expectations or they'll replace it or give you a refund.
Look no further
The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club touts their "A+" Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating, and we aren't surprised they are in high standing. The Gourmet Cheese of the Month Club has been recommended by Esquire, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Today, Forbes, MSN, NBC, Fortune, and other popular news outlets. In addition, all the customer reviews on their website for both of their cheese club options are fantastic, proving to us that this is indeed your best choice for cheese clubs. The flexible delivery, competitive pricing, and cheese-specific focus makes this a winning company.
Amazing Clubs is a great place to look if you want auto-deliveries of food of any kind. We're talking wine, coffee, bacon, cake, dog treats, honey, hot sauce, jerky, olive oil, pizza, steak, and so much more. They have 42 different types of clubs to choose from, so there's something for everyone here! Amazing Clubs was founded in 2003 with the goal of bringing members the most exclusive and highest-quality gourmet items available anywhere. They've been featured on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
Generous quantities and selection
Each shipment from Amazing Clubs includes three different half-pound varieties (1.5 pounds total) carefully selected by their gourmet-experts. Some previous selections have included Butterkase Wisconsin, Maple Leaf Monterey Jack, Provolone Piccante, and Organic 5 Year Cheddar. In addition to offering deliveries every 3, 6, or 12 months, there is a Cheese of the Season club with new selections that arrive in the spring, summer, fall, and winter.
5 pricing options
We like that on the main page of the Amazing Clubs website they show their prices and delivery options, so you don't have to click around to figure out how much you're going to need to pay. You can either pay in full or pay per shipment. The prices go as follows:
Convenient gift option
You can choose to have your shipments monthly or every other month. If you're giving a cheese club as a gift, you can provide the recipient's email address to Amazing Clubs and they'll send them an email every month with the current selections. If for any reason they want to skip that month and wait for the following month's selection (like if they're traveling, want to spread out the deliveries, or simply don't like a particular flavor), they can easily make the change. Amazing Clubs won't send the current selection email the first month to ensure that they don't ruin a surprise gift. So, if you order a 12-month cheese delivery membership, they won't send the email for shipment #1, but will for shipments #2 - #12.
Love it guarantee!
We're pretty confident that you'll be more than happy with your cheese deliveries from Amazing Clubs, but on the off chance you aren't, you can contact customer service and they'll do everything they can to make it right. If you're still unsatisfied, you can cancel your membership at any time and receive a full credit for the unshipped merchandise.
What's not to like?
In addition to having fantastic reviews from over 980 customers, Amazing Clubs has an "A+" rating from The Better Business Bureau. This company is the real deal and their customers love them. Customer support seems to be responsive and helpful, deliveries are timely, the quality of their products is second to none, and they provide an easy one-to-shop for gifts. What's not to love? It was easy for us to give Amazing Clubs one of our highest ratings.
The Rare Cheese Club's name says it all. They are just one of the clubs run by Monthly Clubs, a family owned and operated business founded in 1994. Some of their other clubs include the International Wine of the Month Club, Gourmet Chocolate of the Month Club, Premium Cigar of the Month Club, Fresh Cut Flower of the Month Club, and Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club. Their other cheese club is The Original Gourmet Cheese Club, which earned our highest rating. Monthly Clubs' processes for delivering gourmet cheeses is labor intensive and each selection is hand-cut. Cheeses are individually wrapped to ensure the highest quality.
Each month, members of The Rare Cheese Club receive three small batch artisan cheeses made from high-quality, rare ingredients. Most of the cheeses can only be produced in one or two designated locations in the world and are limited-production from traditional age-old recipes. The cheeses are made of expensive milks from animals that are grass fed, often from farmsteads that produce both milk and cheese to ensure top freshness. Recent flavors include Tomme Saint Georges sheep milk cheese from France, BiancoSardo sheep milk cheese from Italy, and Sennerei Huban - Alp Blossom cow milk cheese from Germany. The unique cheeses total 1 1/2 pounds in each shipment.
Most flexible subscription option
To receive your monthly delivery of rare cheeses, the cost is $55.95/month plus $14.00 for shipping and handling. You can get really detailed with customizing your order and select the amount of shipments you want (1-12), the month you want the membership to begin, how often shipments should be delivered (monthly, every other month, or quarterly), and if you want to pay in one installment or monthly. This is the most flexible delivery plan of any other company in our review

Excellent customer reviews
The Rare Cheese Club has an "A+" Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating that reassures us they are a reputable and reliable company. The Rare Cheese Club has been featured by Esquire, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Today, Forbes, MSN, NBC, Fortune, and other well-known outlets. All reviews from customers on their website are excellent. Customers love exploring the new flavors, and the cheese club makes a fantastic gift. Everything about the Rare Cheese Club is likeable, earning it one of our highest recommendations.
Fromagination was founded in 2007 by Ken Monteleone, a man who believes that Wisconsin Cheese and its artisan food movement deserve a showcase. In addition to shopping online for all of Fromagination's gourmet cheeses, gift sets, cheese boards, and accessories, you can visit their storefront if you're ever in Madison, Wisconsin to smell and taste their cheeses and learn how they are made.
Buy a gift set or a monthly subscription
Finding a one-time gift from Fromagination is easy with their different gift sets of cheeses, crackers, jellies, nuts, and more. But real cheese lovers don't want to settle for a one-time taste of the best that Wisconsin has to offer! Fromagination has monthly cheese of the month subscriptions so you can enjoy their delectable flavors throughout the whole year.
12, 6, and 3 month memberships
Fromagination's cheese club deliveries happen either every month, every other month, or every 4 months depending on your budget and how often you want to try out their featured cheeses. A 12-month subscription costs $660 ($55/month), a 6-month subscription is $415 ($69/month), and a 3-month subscription is $235 ($78/month). Clearly the best deal is just to commit to a full-year membership to get the best bang for your buck! All memberships require you to pay upfront and not month-to-month.
Each month of the year has a theme that your cheese delivery box will be based on. Some of the themes include swiss-inspired Wisconsin cheeses, cheeses made by Wisconsin female cheesemakers, spicy Wisconsin cheeses, Irish-inspired Wisconsin cheeses, holiday favorites, and more! Every so often, your delivery might include out-of-state or foreign cheeses as well. Each monthly delivery includes a "companion" of crackers, dried fruit, nuts, preserves, or something else that pairs well with the cheese selection.
Free shipping on 12 month orders
Cheese deliveries begin the next calendar month following your purchase. So if you sign up in February, your first box will be delivered fresh to your doorstep in March. Cheese deliveries are made the second Monday of every month. Shipping is free if you subscribe to the 12-month cheese box (or if you live in the states around Wisconsin), but the delivery cost for a 3-month box is a $40 one-time fee and a $55 one-time fee for the 6-month box.
Report issues within 30 days
If you wish to request a refund or re-shipment due to an error made by Fromagination, you can do so within 30 days of a scheduled delivery. Once the 30 days has passed after your cheese box arrives, Fromagination is not responsible for any issues.
Well-liked by customers
Fromagination is an affordable option for cheese delivery. They are less expensive than some other cheese subscription companies we've seen, especially if you sign up for the 12-month membership. We aren't sure the quantity of cheese you receive in each box, but we imagine it's enough to get a good taste of the best Wisconsin has to offer. Fromagination has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and are well-liked by customers who shop with them online and in-store. This is a good option if you're on the lookout for a good cheese club!
iGourmet carries the best of cheeses, meats, pantry staples, oils and vinegars, beverages, sweets, and more. Their roots go back generations, but they didn't launch their online specialty foods store until 1997. They carry over 900 types of cheeses, so your taste buds will never be bored here. In addition to iGourmet's international cheese subscription box, they have options for platinum and Italian cheese delivery, which you'll also find among our reviews.
3 new cheeses monthly
Inside each iGourmet international cheese box you'll receive a selection of 3 different cheeses, each weighing a half pound. They might come from Italy, France, Ireland, or another region around the world. You'll also receive a newsletter that guides you through that month's assortment and teaches you the origin, history, and flavor profile along with suggested wine pairings.
Select your delivery schedule
To get started with a cheese subscription plan, you'll first select the number of deliveries and duration you desire. Your options are a 3-month delivery, 6-month, 12-month, or every month recurring. A minor discrepancy on iGourmet's website is that they advertise the subscription box as pay-as-you-go, but once you go to select the package you want, they are all listed as pre-paid.
Save with longer subscriptions
A 3-month subscription of the international cheese box is $162, which is $54/month. A 6-month subscription is $318 total, or $53/month. The best deal is to subscribe for a full 12 months, which will cost $624 or $52/month. If you decide to pay month-to-month without any designated timeframe, the cost is $55/month. The cost of shipping is included in the overall price.
Shipments go out within days of order
Your first box will ship within a few days of placing your subscription order and then subsequent boxes will be delivered monthly, about every 30 days from your original purchase date depending on your chosen subscription schedule.
Refunds or replacements for shipping problems only
If your box of cheeses from iGourmet arrives and doesn't meet your expectations due to a shipping related issue, you can have it replaced or be refunded as long as you alert them within 7 days of having received the order. Otherwise, iGourmet guarantees that all their deliveries will arrive in top physical condition and you won't be getting your money back for simply not liking the flavors of cheeses.
iGourmet has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau. They also have over 210 5-star reviews from verified customers on their website with favorable comments about their wide variety of cheeses, prompt delivery, high quality and more. This is a competitively-priced option for cheese delivery, but it doesn't come with other specialty items (crackers, chocolate, preserves, nuts, etc.) like some other cheese clubs do. However, if you're wanting the experience of trying flavorful international cheeses, this is a solid option.
Since their inception in 1997, iGourmet has carried the best of cheeses, meats, pantry staples, oils and vinegars, beverages, sweets, and more. Although their roots go back generations, they didn't launch their online store until 1997. There are over 900 types of cheese at iGourmet, so you'll never run out of fanciful flavors to test out. In addition to iGourmet's Italian cheese subscription box, they have options for platinum and international cheese delivery, which we have also reviewed.
1.5 lbs of cheese monthly
With each delivery, you'll receive 3 different types of Italian cheeses, each weighing a half a pound. The box also includes a newsletter that guides you through that month's assortment and explains the origin, history, and flavor profile along with suggested wine pairings and serving suggestions to give you the most enriching tasting experience.
3, 6, 12, or recurring delivery options
Your first step in receiving your Italian cheese box is to select the number of deliveries and whether you want a 3-month delivery, 6-month, 12-month, or every month recurring. It is advertised on iGourmet's website that you can pay-as-you-go, but once you select your package, there's only an option to pre-pay for your deliveries.
Longer subscription = better monthly price
A prepaid 3-month subscription of the Italian cheese box is $162, which comes out to $54/month. A 6-month subscription is $318, or $53/month. The best deal (by a little bit) is to subscribe for a full 12 months, which will cost you $624 total or $52/month. If you decide to pay month-to-month without any designated timeframe, the cost is $55/month and can be cancelled any time. The overall price of each box includes the price of shipping.
Boxes ship within days of order
Once you place an order for your Italian cheese box, it will ship within just a few days and then subsequent boxes will be shipped monthly (about every 30 days from your original purchase date) depending on your chosen delivery schedule.
Satisfaction guaranteed - kind of
If your box of cheeses from iGourmet arrives and isn't satisfactory due to a shipping related issue, you can get a refund or get a replacement cheese box as long as you alert iGourmet within 7 days of having received the order. Outside of this, there is no return policy because iGourmet guarantees that all their deliveries will arrive in top physical, fresh condition. That's a little less generous than most of our higher-ranked cheese clubs, who offer a refund or replacement even if you just don't like the taste of the cheese you receive.
Good choice for Italian cheese lovers
iGourmet has a solid "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and over 210 5-star reviews from verified customers on their website. Comments from buyers include liking their wide variety of cheese, prompt and reliable delivery, high quality and freshness, and more. iGourmet is a reasonably priced way to go if you want Italian cheeses delivered straight to your door. You won't get extra frills like crackers, preserves, chocolate, nuts, or other cheese pairings, but this is a fun option for trying unique Italian cheeses monthly.
iGourmet began in 1997 and carries one of the biggest selections of cheeses of any other online shop. You can purchase an assortment of fresh meats, seafood, country-specific gifts, snacks, beverages, pastas, condiments, and much more. You'll find no shortage of delectable snacks to pair with the unique cheeses at iGourmet. There are over 900 types of cheeses, so you'll never get bored shopping here! In addition to iGourmet's Platinum cheese subscription box, they have options for Italian and international cheese delivery, which you can learn about in our other reviews.
"Not for the faint of heart"
The difference between the Platinum Cheese Subscription box and iGourmet's international and Italian selection is that these boxes feature strong cheeses with complex profiles. They spotlight different farmhouses that have received AOP or DOP status (i.e. the products are produced and processed in a clearly defined region). iGourmet says, "These rare, hard-to-find cheeses are not for the faint of heart."
Taste and be taught
Each Platinum Cheese Subscription contains a curated, hand-selected variety of three types of cheeses. Each cheese weighs a half a pound, so you'll get approximately 1.5 pounds of cheese with each delivery. iGourmet also includes a helpful newsletter with each box to guide you through your selection by explaining the history, origin, and flavor of the cheese. They'll give suggested wine pairings if you want to enrich your tasting experience. Your platinum selection may come from regions like France or Ireland, come from a particular farm cheesemaker, or compare and contrast with the other cheeses.
Monthly or recurring delivery choices
Your first step in receiving your platinum cheese box is to select whether you want 3, 6, or 12 months worth of deliveries. You could also choose to have a recurring subscription that arrives monthly and continues to ship until you cancel your membership. All subscriptions must be pre-paid unless you choose the recurring, pay-as-you go plan.
Set a delivery schedule or pay as you go
Of the iGourmet cheese subscriptions in our review, the platinum box is the most expensive. This is reflective of the rare cheeses you'll be receiving. A prepaid 3-month subscription of the platinum cheese box is $219, which comes out to $73/month. A 6-month subscription is $432, or $72/month. A slightly better deal is to subscribe for a full 12 months, which will cost you $852 total or $71/month. If you decide to pay month-to-month, the cost is $74/month and can be cancelled or paused any time. The cost of shipping is included in the price of each monthly box.
Boxes ship within days of order
Some companies wait to ship your cheese subscription box until the month after you place your order, but iGourmet will send out your platinum box within just a few days from your purchase. Subsequent boxes will be shipped monthly (approximately every 30 days from your original purchase date) depending on your chosen delivery schedule.
If your box of platinum cheeses from iGourmet arrives and doesn't meet expectations because of an issue that occurred during shipping, you can contact customer service for a refund or get a replacement cheese box within 7 days of having received the order. Since iGourmet guarantees all their deliveries will arrive fresh and neatly packaged, there is no return policy for people who simply don't like the taste of the cheese.
Up for the unexpected
The Better Business Bureau gives iGourmet an "A+" rating and they have received over 210 reviews from verified customers on their website. Most buyers are satisfied with the high quality of the cheeses from this company and say deliveries are timely and always fresh. If you're up to try some rare and unique flavors, you'll get that from iGourmet. The boxes don't include additional pairings that some companies provide, but you'll still be able to enjoy the unique flavors delivered straight to your door each month. iGourmet's Platinum Cheese Subscription is a good option.
The Cowgirl Creamery has a beautiful website displaying gourmet cheeses made north of San Francisco, California and partner dairies in Marin and Sonoma counties. The company was started by two college roommates in 1997 who wanted to celebrate organic practices and spotlight the craftsmanship of local sustainable agriculture.
Shop individual collections or subscriptions
You can buy any of the gourmet cheeses, sour creams, or cottage cheese from Cowgirl Creamery individually or subscribe to their monthly cheese club. Each product listing includes a variety of their specialty cheeses with options to add a Cowgirl Creamery Chocolate Bar or Cowgirl Crackers. Prices range from $65 to $310 not including optional add-ons.
Cheeses and discounts and invites, oh my!
The Cowgirl Cheese Club is for those who have a passion for organic and artisan cheese and always want to be stocked up to be able to make a perfectly balanced cheese board. The club includes at least 3 artisan cheeses every month (4 servings of each) and at least one cheese from their organic creamery. You'll always be able to get 10% off of the online store as long as you're a member, so if you want to buy an individual box you can get a deal on it. Membership also includes an invitation to an exclusive guided virtual tasting with the Head of Education to explore the animals, origins, and production of the cheeses. You'll get early access to new product releases and limited seasonal cheeses as well as at least one edible accompaniment to make the perfect pair with your cheeses.
High quality and high prices
There's no doubt that The Cowgirl Cheese Club is one of the most expensive choices as far as monthly cheese deliveries go. The organic, artisan, local aspect of the deliveries is what makes them high quality and quite expensive. A one-time purchase is $100, but if you choose to subscribe to the monthly delivery, it is $95/box. The Cowgirl Creamery offers 10% off your first order if you want to "stay in touch" by providing your email to get on their member list. Each month you can view what cheeses will be included and the edible accompaniments. Shipping is always free on all orders! Each order arrives within the selected week of purchase on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, but exact dates can't be guaranteed.
No satisfaction guarantee
There's no satisfaction guarantee from The Cowgirl Creamery, but if your item arrives damaged or incorrect, it's recommended that you get in touch with customer service right away.
Good option if you can afford it
The Cowgirl Creamery has an "A+" rating from The Better Business Bureau, but not a lot of straightforward customer reviews anywhere online. We imagine that if you're willing to spend the money, this is a classy and delicious option for monthly cheese delivery. We wish you were able to adjust your delivery schedule to be every other month or less since some people might not want to commit to a monthly delivery, especially considering the cost. However, this is a unique and gourmet place to find organic cheeses.
Di Bruno Bros began operations back in 1939 in the now-iconic South Philadelphia Italian Market. They've grown into five retail locations, an e-commerce market, and employ over 350 people. The company cares deeply about a sense of community and providing customers with the excitement of exploring new culinary delights. Di Bruno Bros has been highlighted by The New York Times, Travel and Leisure, and Food & Wine.
Cheese, meats, crackers, and more!
Shopping online at Di Bruno Bros provides options to buy individual cheeses like blue, brie, creamy, gouda, truffle, and more. A block might range anywhere from $15 to $35. Or you can buy a whole cheese wheel for $700! Di Bruno Bros also has a selection of specialty meats, snacks, crackers, sweets, cocktails, pasta sauces, combination gift boxes, and more.
4 unique cheese clubs
For those who want the delectable cheeses from Di Bruno Bros to keep rolling in, they have a selection of 7 monthly clubs to choose from, 4 of which include cheese. The cheese clubs include:
Other clubs include the Soft Pretzel Pairing Club, Charcuterie Club, and Mighty Breads and Spreads Club. These may include cheeses in some deliveries, but aren't geared toward that specifically.
The starting cost of all cheese clubs goes up depending on how many months' worth of deliveries you select. Di Bruno Bros offers a free month for all 12-month memberships, so you'll always get a full 13. If you provide your name and email address to hear about exclusive recipes, offers, and new products, you'll get a code for 20% off your first purchase from Di Bruno Bros. Shipping is always free and deliveries happen the second full week of every month, though the first shipment will happen the month after the order is placed.
A team that takes cheese seriously
You can read short bios about all of the certified cheese professionals, otherwise known as "cheesemongers" . It tells stories of what brought these team members to Di Bruno Bros, why they love their job, and fun, "cheesy" facts about them.
Unsure of exactly what you get here
Di Bruno Bros has a long history of providing customer satisfaction and offering artisan cheeses and other delectable products. The Better Business Bureau gives them an "A+" rating. As far as cheese clubs go, this is a pricey option, especially considering you don't really know what to expect in your monthly boxes. They aren't 100% cheese-specific, so you'll get a variety of items, which is either exciting or disappointing based on your preference.
Good, but room for improvement
We wish the quantity of cheese and types were more clear so that customers could know what they're in for before ordering. However, you can get a refund or replacement within 48 hours if you call Di Bruno Bros and let them know you weren't satisfied with your order. In general, we would recommend browsing individual cheeses and products here, but maybe look elsewhere for cheese club memberships.
Murray's describes themselves as "cheese experts and enthusiasts who make, source, sell and serve exceptional cheese and specialty foods nationwide." Murray's ages their own cheeses in their state-of-the-art cheese caves in Long Island. They are based out of New York City and have become a staple stop for locals wanting to experience their cheese flights and dishes. For those of us who aren't locals, Murray's expanded their selection by launching an online store to give everyone an opportunity to get their unique cheeses for themselves.
Pantry staples and cheese clubs
Murray's Cheese has a lot to offer. In addition to shopping for their meats, baked goods, nuts, pizza toppings, oils, crackers, and other pantry essentials, they have 5 monthly clubs you can enjoy. We'll be focusing on their Classic Cheese of the Month Club, but you could also check out Cheesemonger's Picks of the Month Club, Perfect Pair of the Month Club, Cheese Board of the Month Club, and Mac and Cheese of the Month Club if they resonate with you.
3-4 new flavors per box
The Classic Cheese of the Month Club is for cheese lovers and cheese newbies. The collection in each box rotates monthly and you'll get to enjoy 3-4 flavors of iconic cheeses chosen from the highest quality selections. They come from both international and domestic producers, so your palate is sure to be pleased with all the diverse tastes. To get an idea of what types of flavors have been included in previous months, you can view past selections.
Vague box contents
Unlike some other cheese subscription companies, Murray's doesn't specify the quantity of the cheese you'll be receiving. We know you'll get 3-4 different types, but does the weight of each kind vary monthly? Do they keep it consistent? When you're paying a good chunk of money for a box like this, you want to know what kind of value you're getting. It appears that the boxes only include cheese, but there are options to pay extra for pairings like a sampler of fruit preserves for $17 or olive oil flatbread crackers for $9.
Packaged for freshness
Monthly club packages from Murray's are shipped overnight via FedEx on the second Wednesday of every month for arrival the next day (second Thursday of the month). Orders are packaged with thermal lining and food-friendly gel packs so the cheese will stay cold upon delivery.
Set your delivery schedule
Like most cheese delivery services, you can set your boxes for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months of shipments. If you want to be able to cancel at any time and get a box each month, you can pay as you go month-to-month. A 3-month box is $175 ($58/month), 6 months costs $340 ($57/month), and a 12-month box is $675 ($56/month). The most expensive option is to go month-to-month and pay $63 per box. One perk is that shipping is always free on all deliveries!
Not bad, but not the best
Murray's doesn't have a Better Business Bureau rating and many customer reviews are about the ambiance and experience of their in-person restaurant and store in New York. We don't doubt that Murray's provides a delicious assortment of cheeses in each box, but we wish they were more specific about what is included. Overall, this isn't a bad option for cheese delivery, but because this isn't their main focus they don't give as many details or perks as some higher-rated companies do. They've earned a slightly lower-than-average rating from us.
If you're looking for a new and exciting thing to try, you can't go wrong with a cheese club membership. Although not all cheese clubs work exactly the same, you're in for a fun experience and you can usually cancel at any time or pause your subscription if you want to take a break from your deliveries.
