On the Sugar Plum Chocolates website

Sugar Plum Chocolates specializes in gourmet chocolate gift baskets, but they only have 4 to choose from. Each chocolate is individually-wrapped, which is great because they last up to 12 months each. None of the gift baskets are themed, so they will work for any person or special occasion. Each one comes neatly wrapped with a large bow, so the presentation is appealing. Shipping is free on orders over $75, or you can pay just $10 for orders under $75. Gift baskets start at $48, so this is an affordable place for chocolate gift baskets - you just won't have a big selection.

Harry & David is one of many brands in the 1-800-Flowers family of stores that all revolve around sending unique gifts to loved ones. They have a huge variety of gourmet food gifts for different occasions, and their inventory features 19 chocolate gift baskets with different items and brands of chocolate included. Most baskets are under $100, which seems reasonable, and they have a Celebrations Passport membership for $29.99 yearly that will ensure free shipping on all qualifying orders. We like what we see here, but customer reviews about Harry & David have become mixed, with some people claiming their gift baskets never arrive or are poor quality when they do. On the Li-Lac Chocolates website

Li-Lac Chocolates has been around since 1923 and has a unique selection of chocolate molds and other snackable gifts to fit a variety of special events and hobbies. Only a few of their chocolate gift baskets are all-purpose, so it's best to shop here for a specific holiday or occasion. Baskets start at $75 and don't come with a ton of stuff, so here you're getting chocolate in unique shapes rather than a range of flavors and types of treats. There are few reviews on the chocolate gift baskets, but the ones we found were mixed, leaving us a little less confident in this company than when we first started shopping. Because of this, we recommend turning to a higher-rated store over Li-Lac Chocolates for chocolate gift baskets.

On the Lindt website

Lindt is one of the most famous brands of chocolate, so it's likely one you recognize. They're famous for their different flavors of chocolate bars and their smooth LINDOR chocolate balls filled with a creamy inside. When we were shopping here, there were only 6 gift baskets in stock, some of which were holiday-themed, so we didn't feel like we had a lot of choices. Our biggest hangup with Lindt is how many complaints they've received from customers who shopped online and felt that their deliveries were unreliable and customer service was a pain to work with. Because of this, they've earned one of our lowest ratings among chocolate gift basket retailers.

Where is the Best Place to Buy Chocolate Gift Baskets?

Whether it's Valentine's Day, a birthday, Christmas, a graduation, a retirement party, or any other type of life or social event, chocolate gift baskets are a safe bet for just about anyone. Heck, we'd even love to receive a chocolate gift basket for President's Day if someone out there is generously giving them out. Dare we say it might make the best food gift that money can buy?

If you have a chocolate lover in your life, a gift basket is the perfect idea for them. Sometimes it's nice to receive a present that you can enjoy and then get rid of rather than having something that will sit around and take up space. A chocolate gift basket is a good way to give someone a variety of different flavors and treats that they may not have ever tried before.

We've seen chocolate gift baskets that include chocolate drizzled popcorn, chocolate crisped rice bars, biscuits, chocolate bars and truffles, chocolate wafers, brownie bites, chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, chocolate-covered fruit, and so much more. Not only can you get a delectable variety of chocolate treats from gourmet shops online in a gift basket, but the great thing about it is that it's also pre-wrapped beautifully for you.

There's no worrying about arranging the assortment of chocolates in a pretty container, finding cellophane wrap or ribbons, or having one more present to wrap around the holidays. Chocolate gift baskets come perfectly arranged without any hassle on your end. You could have it delivered to your home so you can give it to a loved one in person or arrange for the company to mail the gift basket straight to your chosen recipient.

You can definitely spend quite a bit of money on a chocolate gift basket if you want to go all out, but you don't have to. Depending on the size of the basket and what's included, you could spend as little as $30 for an assortment of truffles or nearly $200 for a robust gift with chocolate covered almonds, truffles, caramels, chocolate clusters, wine, champagne, and other high-end treats. There is a good variety of gift baskets available, so whatever your budget is, you should be able to find something delicious.

When deciding which company you should buy a chocolate gift basket from, take the following things into consideration:

The experts at Top Consumer Reviews have researched the best places to purchase a chocolate gift basket online. We've gone above and beyond to give you a comprehensive overview of all your options. We're confident that these insights will help you choose a company that provides the exact type of chocolate gift basket you would be excited to give to a family member or friend.

Chocolate Gift Basket FAQ

What should I look for in a company that sells chocolate gift baskets?
There are plenty of places that sell pretty chocolate gift baskets, but finding the right one is important. Everyone offers a slightly different variety of products, so pay attention to the list of what's included with each one and see if it all appeals to you. Some people might not love chocolate-covered raisins, but would prefer truffles and cookies or vice-versa. Make sure everything in the basket looks appealing so that you get the most for your money. It's also crucial to pay attention to the company's Better Business Bureau rating and/or customer reviews to give you peace of mind that everything in the basket is fresh and comes exactly as pictured online.
What types of chocolate are found in a gift basket?
Just about anything you can smother in chocolate is likely to end up in a gift basket. Think fruit, nuts, raisins, wafers, cookies, brownies, popcorn, pretzels, and more. The person enjoying their treat won't get bored with the variety, that's for sure. However, some people might enjoy a simple selection that isn't very diverse, so you could always find something more simple too.
Why should I buy a chocolate gift basket?
Most people love chocolate in any form. Of course, there are some people out there who prefer other types of sweets, but chocolate is a well-loved delicacy all over the world and has been for hundreds of years. It's a safe option for a gift if you need to find something for a friend, family member, co-worker, or neighbor. You can get them in big or small sizes to fit the occasion and the amount of people you're shopping for. It will include a fun variety of treats and come pre-wrapped in pretty packaging to make an appealing presentation.
What about allergies?
Some companies are really straightforward with the ingredients and allergen information about their products, which we always appreciate. Often, they'll list if their chocolates are gluten-free or if they contain any other common allergens like soy or eggs. If not, don't hesitate to reach out to customer service and ask them which baskets (if any) would be the safest for you to purchase. They might even be able to swap out certain products for you, to make sure you're comfortable with the assortment they provide.
How many chocolate gift baskets can I order?
Once you realize how fantastic and easy it is to give chocolates as a gift, you might want to have a few baskets on hand as a go-to gift when you need it. You can typically order as many gift baskets from a company as you want. If you order a lot, you might need to have them shipped to you and then hand-deliver them if the company doesn't allow you to ship to multiple addresses. A perk of ordering more at once is that some companies offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount, so you'll likely save on delivery costs when you buy in bulk.
What if I'm not happy with the chocolate gift basket?
Companies want their customers to be happy, so it's not uncommon to find a satisfaction guarantee to ensure that you love your chocolates. If something is stale or seems damaged upon arrival, reach out to the customer service team and see how they will work with you to rectify the issue. We have seen a lot of places that will ship you a new chocolate gift basket if needed, or even refund your order altogether if that's what it takes. Luckily, you'll be able to see everything that's in a chocolate gift basket before making a purchase, so you can get a pretty good idea of whether or not you or your giftee will like what's included before you buy anything.
How long do chocolates stay fresh?
Most individually-wrapped chocolates will stay perfectly delightful for weeks or even months. If you have chocolate-covered fruit, popcorn, or even cookies in your gift basket, those should be enjoyed within a couple of days for maximum freshness. Most likely the gift basket will include information about how to store everything that comes included, so that nothing goes to waste.
Do chocolate baskets make a good gift?
Absolutely! There are a lot of food gifts out there that you can buy, like popcorn, hot sauce, cookies, wine, BBQ sauce, candy, coffee, and so much more. Some of those gifts will excite someone who has a unique love for them, but it's hard to know which one will be the best. Chocolate is something most people love and eat all year round, so it's a no-brainer when it comes to gift-giving. It takes little effort on your end to order a chocolate gift basket, but they look classy and will surely be appreciated.
