DaySpring Review 3.5 Star Rating

DaySpring

3.5 Star Rating
  • Cost: Starting from $0.15

DaySpring is a faith-based company that was started in 1971 by four Christian men who had the vision of making Christ known through printed messages. They sell cards, gifts, books, Bibles, and office supplies. Most of their Christmas cards feature religious messages to emphasize the birth of Christ. DaySpring's website and products are both beautiful and uplifting.

No photo uploads or customization

There are 158 Christmas cards to choose from at DaySpring. Compared to our higher-rated Christmas card retailers, 158 is not very many. Part of the company's message to their customers is that there is joy in handwritten messages. Because of this, all of the Christmas cards are meant to be written in rather than sent as a standalone card. They also don't have any options for photo uploads and customization here.

Small collections

Most of the Christmas cards sold by DaySpring come in boxes of about 10-18 cards each for $4.99 to $14.99. There are also some options to buy single premium cards that range from $2.99 to $20.97.

Free shipping over $50

If you join DaySpring's email list, you'll get $10 off your first order, so we recommend taking advantage of that if it's worth it to you. Customers get free shipping when they spend over $50.

Returns allowed

DaySpring does not have a guarantee on their products, but they do allow returns. We are unsure whether or not customers will get a full refund or just get store credit for their returns since they do not clarify this. To return an order, customers must contact customer service via email with their order number and they will reach out in 24-48 business hours to process the request.

Nice, but...

Even though they aren't our first pick for Christmas cards, DaySpring is a lovely resource for Christian shoppers to find artwork, jewelry, apparel, and gifts. Their products have a chic, modern flair and simplistic style. We like the store and website (besides some slow loading here and there), but you'll have more options for Christmas cards by looking at another retailer.

Where is the Best Place to Create and Buy Christmas Cards?

It is special each year to send and receive Christmas cards from family and friends to display on the fridge or on your fireplace mantle. It adds so much to the season to see the faces of the people who have been important in your life and get updates of how they are doing.

With online Christmas card shops, you can send a picture of yourself and your loved ones (pets too!) with the message and style that fit your personality. Instead of generic Christmas cards, with a sometimes cheesy pre-written message inside, these fully-customizable Christmas cards are becoming more popular.

Christmas Card Store FAQ

Sending Christmas cards is a tradition that started in the 1840s in England. Henry Cole, who worked at a post office in the UK, wanted to make the postal service more appealing to the everyday person. He and John Horsley, an artist friend of his, printed 1000 copies of a Christmas greeting card as an experiment - and here we are, almost 200 years later!
Yes! In the US alone, over two billion Christmas cards are sent every year. That represents over 60% of all greeting card purchases!
Of course! Whether you want that cute photo card that gets hung up on everyone's refrigerator or a classy greeting sent to your business clients, you've got plenty of options for making Christmas cards exactly how you need them.
The earlier, the better, to ensure that the design you want is still in stock and can get to you in enough time to send out your cards. Check the timeframes and ordering deadlines of any Christmas card printer you're considering; if you're running a little behind, there may be options for expedited production and delivery.
You'll find cards that cost less than $1 to options for $3 and up per card. With most retailers of Christmas cards, you'll pay less for each one when you order more (e.g. you'll pay $1 per card if you order 100 but $2 per card if you order 20). You can also get ready-made Christmas cards in boxed sets; they tend to cost less than personalized greetings.
Some printers offer printed envelopes as an upgrade, but most expect that you'll do the addressing yourself. If you don't have the time for hand-written addresses, it's not hard to print off address labels from your mailing list.
Most of the time, yes. Christmas card printers want you to love your greetings and will usually give you a full refund or a reprint at no cost.
That depends on the retailer you choose, but many of them recognize that there are other celebrations besides Christmas. You might have to search a little harder on their websites, but you should find several options you love!

Continued from above...

Some of the pictures people add to their Christmas cards might be of a big vacation they've taken that year, professional shots, cartoon caricatures, or a fun candid photo that captures their personalities.

Not only are there options out there to fully create your own Christmas card design from beginning to end, but you can also choose from thousands of pre-made templates. The possibilities might seem so limitless that it can be overwhelming! But, most people find that making a personalized Christmas card is also a lot of fun.

When searching for Christmas cards online, consider the following things to ensure you get the best deal and online shopping experience:

  • Cost. How does the cost of the Christmas cards line up against competitors? Are you able to buy in bulk and save money? Is there a minimum purchase requirement?
  • Selection. Are there plenty of templates to choose from when creating your Christmas card? How customizable are they? If you're opting for cards with no personalization needed, will you still have a wide variety of designs to browse?
  • Functionality. Is the design platform intuitive? Is it fast and easy to select and buy your cards without any headaches?
  • Satisfaction Guarantee. If you get your Christmas cards and they don't meet your expectations, can you get a refund or a reprint?
