Cafe Britt is unique in several ways when compared to the other coffee clubs we have reviewed. First, and maybe the most distinctive feature in the entire category, they allow you to choose the exact coffee you want to receive. Yes, you read that correct - a customizable coffee club, and they have 25 different coffee selections.
They roast their own
Cafe Britt roasts all the coffee their club members receive, and have for over 30 years. And they roast in the country of origin with coffee grown in Costa Rica, Peru, and Columbia; three countries in one of the world's best growing regions. Finally, Cafe Britt offers bags in bulk; 3, 5, or 7 bags per month. So you get a lot of coffee!
Unfortunately, Cafe Britt isn't perfect in every aspect. Though the per bag cost is cheaper than other clubs, club members must order at least 3 bags per month for a minimum of 3 months, making the overall cost more expensive than most if you're only wanting a short-term membership.
Coffee Club Membership Overview
Cafe Britt has three levels of membership for different types of coffee drinkers: the Explorer - 3-month membership, the Enthusiast - 6-month membership, and the Expert - 12-month membership. Each level allows members to choose 3, 5, or 7 bags of whole bean or ground coffee per month.
Here is a deeper overview and cost breakdown of the levels:
Cafe Britt will replace, refund, credit, or offer a comparable option if you have issues with their coffee selections. Their customer's 100% satisfaction is a priority. Along with their monthly coffee selections, Cafe Britt coffee club members receive a coffee brewing kit.
A coffee club that lets you choose the coffee? A great option for coffee lovers. With 25 bags to choose from, any coffee drinker can find their new favorite. We like the uniqueness of Cafe Britt and the fact that they are an onsite roaster and the distributor. We would like to see a monthly club option allowing for fewer bags. This would result in a lower, more entry level, price point. Without it they still rank very high in our review, with it they may lead the category.
Gone are the days when every household had a gallon tin of generic grinds on the shelf. How did that ever satisfy every coffee drinker? Today's coffee consumers want choices. And with coffee consumption on the rise, the market has responded with a myriad of options.
Coffee clubs are a great idea, whether you're giving a gift or shopping for yourself. Every month you have a variety of coffees delivered right to your door. You get to treat yourself to a new flavor each morning. And if you like a certain coffee taste, often you can order more of that particular blend.
If you're just stepping away from the same old coffee, day after day, you may not yet know the perfect style for you. Or perhaps you already know you're into subtle fruit or chocolate notes, a medium bodied and balanced blend, or a brew with a sweet, mellow acidity. In any case, we believe the best way to feed your cravings or find your favorite coffee, while exploring the world's great coffee options, is with a coffee club.
While there may be a handful of products in your neighborhood grocery store, these brands barely scratch the surface of what the market has to offer. From Central America, South America, and Hawaii to Africa and Southeast Asia, quality coffee growing regions are spread across the world: each with unique characteristics and flavor profiles. And around the globe the best coffee roasters turn an abundance of beans into seemingly endless varieties. These choices are what the best coffee clubs offer.
With consumers wanting choices and so many great roasters to choose from, it's not surprising that coffee clubs have become more and more popular over the past few years. Equally unsurprising is the fact that coffee club features vary almost as much as the coffee itself. Do your research to select the perfect club for you. Some points to consider are:
