Sunday, April 2nd
The owner and creator of COOKIE... take a bite!, Tracy Mattson, was trained professionally as a pastry chef at L'Academie de Cuisine in Washington DC. She has over 10 years of experience working in fine dining restaurants. She wanted to share her experience with everyone by opening up a boutique operation that delivers cookies all throughout the United States. All cookies are baked fresh to order in Sonoma County and are available in-store or for delivery nationwide.
Two dozen cookies per box
Besides selling cookie tins, platters, cakes, and other desserts on their website, COOKIE... take a bite! offers a Cookie of the Month Club for those who want fresh cookies delivered straight to their door each month. Every box comes with two dozen small cookies of 2-3 flavors in an elegant gift box, so there is plenty to go around.
Flavors change monthly
The flavors in each COOKIE... take a bite! box change monthly. You can view a full year's list of what to expect on the website, though flavors are subject to change. Some cookies that were featured in past collections include coconut lime swirl, bourbon pecan sandie, snickerdoodle and sugar sparkler, nutella cream drops, and grapefruit. You'll likely get quite a few boxes full of flavors you've never tasted before.
Competitive pricing AND free shipping
There are five types of subscriptions to choose from based on how often you want a cookie delivery and how much you want to pay. They include:
No matter how you cut it, the cookie subscriptions at COOKIE... take a bite! are competitively priced. In addition, shipping is free on all Cookie of the Month Club boxes, so that's a huge win. It isn't clear exactly what part of the month deliveries go out or how soon you'll get your first box after purchase, since this isn't listed online.
100% customer satisfaction guarantee
All of COOKIE... take a bite!'s products and services are backed by their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. If you're unhappy with the quality or delivery of your box, you can either call, email, or fill out an online form to get in contact with customer service and they promise to make it right. We aren't sure if this means you'll get a refund, store credit, or just a replacement, but it's worth reaching out if you have any issues with your cookie subscription.
Our highest rating
COOKIE... take a bite! does not have a rating from the Better Business Bureau, but their customer reviews elsewhere are unrivaled. Whether people purchased online or in-store, they had nothing but amazing things to say about the quality of the cookies and service from COOKIE... take a bite! We have full faith in this company and know that if you choose to subscribe to their Cookie of the Month club, you won't be disappointed. They earn our highest rating.

People are delighted by the packaging and use the tins for other creative purposes. Across the board people are very happy with the decision to subscribe to Amazing Clubs' cookie delivery. They have an "A+" rating from The Better Business Bureau, which is to be expected. What's not to like here? Giving Amazing Clubs one of our highest rankings is a no-brainer.
David's Cookies was founded by David Liederman and first opened up shop in Manhattan in 1979. Later, over 200 more stores were opened and in 1987 the company transitioned from a retail franchise to a mail-order company. Today, David's Cookies offers a variety of baked goods like cheesecakes, crumb cakes, brownies, and more.
Cookies, brownies, and cheesecake
David's Cookies can fulfill all your dessert subscription dreams. You can choose from cookies, cookie dough, brownies, cheesecake, or just their dessert of the month club for a mix of all of them if you can't pick just one. Each cookie of the month club comes in a cookie tin to preserve freshness and includes 1-2 pounds of cookies depending on your selected box.
New flavors monthly
Most months will include one or two flavors of cookie or cookie dough per box. Past selections have included double chocolate chunk, cherry white chip, butterscotch, s'mores, candy, and orange oatmeal cranberry. You can look ahead on the David's Cookies website to see what flavor you'll be getting next. Cookies ship out the first Tuesday of every month.
3, 6, 9, or 12 months of deliveries
To get started with cookie delivery from David's Cookies, you'll need to decide if you want a one-pound tin of cookies, a two-pound tin of cookies, or cookie dough delivered each month. The cost of each box needs to be prepaid and includes:
30-day guarantee
The cookies are freshest within 48 hours of receipt, but they can be kept in a freezer-safe container for storage up to 6 months if desired. Cookie dough can be frozen for up to a year. If you're less than satisfied with your delivery from David's Cookies, they will either reship the item or refund you the value of the cookies if you reach out to customer service within 30 days.
More is better
David's Cookies gets high reviews from customers about their monthly clubs. People say they offer a great variety that always tastes delicious, shipments are timely, they make a great gift, and many people even say they wish the deliveries were offered weekly. The Better Business Bureau gives an "A+" rating to David's Cookies, reassuring us that this is indeed a wise choice when it comes to cookie clubs.
Goldbelly's mission is to bring a smile to people's faces with an "edible hug" . They believe that food brings people together and carries emotional power to unite people, conjure happy memories, and support small shops and chefs who are pursuing their passion. Founded in 2013, Goldbelly's uses e-commerce to deliver food around the United States from popular food makers.
Connecting customers with nostalgic foods
Have you ever been on a vacation and had food that you knew you'd remember for the rest of your life? It is so good and so unique that you tell your friends and family about it, recommend the restaurant to everyone who visits, and you crave the dish constantly. Goldbelly's purpose is to make it possible for you to have that sensational meal over and over again, but from the comfort and convenience of your home. They have connected with restaurants, bakeries, and shops around the country who are able to freshly package and ship you some of their most popular dishes.
Cookies from all around the US
Goldbelly has so much to offer. From meal kits to Thanksgiving dinner dishes, you won't get bored of their selection. One of their most popular offerings is their monthly cookie subscription box. Each month, recipients (you or a friend if you choose to give it as a gift) receive hand-selected cookies from popular bakeries around the US. You'll select whether you want 3, 6, 9, or 12 months' worth and your cookies will arrive in the middle of each month.
Monthly shipping and flavor updates
Some of the featured cookies in previous boxes have included NYC's famous black & white cookies from William Greenberg Bakery, LA's craftsman and wolves cookie combo, Minnesota's humongous T-Rex Cookie Company GIANT Cookies, and Maui Cookie Company's Hawaiian cookies. Updates on shipping times and upcoming flavors are sent monthly via email.
Unique cookies at a slightly higher price
The cost for 3 months of the monthly cookie subscription is $147 ($49/month). 6 months is $294 ($49/month), 9 months is $441 ($49/month), and a 12-month subscription is $588 ($49/month). These are slightly more expensive than some competing companies, but if you take into account the unique nature of the cookie origins and flavors you get each month, it makes sense. Luckily there is always free shipping (unless you live in Alaska or Hawaii, in which case subscriptions aren't available).
Final sales
All items are final sale from Goldbelly. If an item arrives damaged or spoiled, you can reach out to their customer support team within 14 days and work out a solution together. Otherwise, you can't get your money back for simply not liking that month's flavor of cookies.
Positive customer reviews
Goldbelly only has a "B" rating from the Better Business Bureau. This is due to the high amount of customer complaints filed against the business. Some of them included issues with orders arriving late, receiving the wrong items, difficulty reaching customer service and more. This was initially really concerning to us, but then we found over 3,800 positive reviews from customers elsewhere who make it sound like the products from Goldbelly are the best they've ever had. Packaging seems to help maintain freshness, customer service seems kind and sociable, and everything is high quality. The praise Goldbelly receives far outweighs the complaints.
Exciting online store
Goldbelly has been featured by CNN, CNBC, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, Fast Company, and Zagat for their success and impressive growth. The idea of connecting beloved restaurants and other eateries in the United States to their non-local customers is amazing. Whether you're wanting to try out their monthly cookie club or just search out some delicious food you can't find nearby, Goldbelly is a unique and fun place to buy from online.
Mrs. Chips Cookies was created in 2018 with the goal of bringing the legendary chocolate chip cookie back to the status it once had. The creator of Mrs. Chips Cookies wants people to enjoy the nostalgia of a fresh chocolate chip cookie without all the "healthy" ingredient alternatives that have become popular. What you'll get here is a straight, sugary, chocolate chip cookie made with high quality, creamy semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Quarterly deliveries of 24 gourmet cookies
There are two options when it comes to quarterly gift cookie delivery offered by Mrs. Chips Cookies. You can choose from the chocolate chip joy box or the cookie collage box. Both of them include 24 cookies, but instead of all being chocolate chips, the collage box also includes a mix of 8 s'mores cookies and 8 rainbow birthday cookies.
Worth the cost
Since there is only one delivery schedule to choose from, it makes pricing easy too. For four deliveries of the chocolate chip joy box, the cost is $200 ($50/box). The collage box is slightly more expensive at $215 total ($53.75/box). Shipping is free on all orders nationwide, so your cost is pretty straightforward. This is slightly more expensive than some other cookie delivery services, but you're getting 24 big cookies and by the looks of the photos, they are deliciously soft and gooey. We're pretty positive the cost is worth it.
Orders shipped same or next day
All orders placed before 12 PM PDT will go out the same business day. If your order is placed after 12 PM PDT, it will be printed and shipped the next business day. Cookies can be tracked with the shipping info that comes to your email. From the delivery date of your first cookie box, your next one will arrive 3 months later.
Satisfaction guaranteed
If for some reason your cookies arrive and you aren't satisfied with the order, Mrs. Chips Cookies has your back. Their return policy states that they will offer a replacement or full refund by simply emailing them to initiate the process.
Low risk, high reward
Mrs. Chips Cookies doesn't have a Better Business Bureau rating or hundreds of customer reviews like some other cookie clubs do. However, the few reviews out there include people going as far as saying these are the best cookies they've ever had in their life. Others say you won't regret your decision to buy here and that the taste of the cookies is amazing. Considering there is an option for a full refund if you're unsatisfied with your experience, this is a low-risk, high-reward choice when it comes to cookie clubs.
Feed Your Soul's mission is "to make the world a sweeter place" . We can get on board with that! They were started by Mya Zoracki, who was originally a trader on the American Stock Exchange. She wanted to create a business that would serve as a vehicle to give back to others and she felt cookies were the perfect thing! Feed Your Soul has been featured by Women Owned, Female Founder Collective, The New York Times, Forbes, The Hallmark Channel, and more.
Sweet gifts and sweet swag
At Feed Your Soul, you'll find options to purchase one-time sets of premium cookies, premium brownies, or unique holiday gifts like a Make Your Own Ice Cream Sandwich kit, vegan brownie gift tin, Decorate Your Own Cookies kit, and more. If you're planning a wedding you can buy mini favor gifts boxes or beautiful centerpiece tins. And for the big fans of Feed Your Soul? You can deck out in their swag that they sell online as well.
12 cookies per box
What we were really interested in here was the Cookie of the Month Club. Each box includes 12 cookies and can be sent as a gift or delivered to yourself (no judgment!). These high-quality cookies come free of preservatives, artificial flavors, dyes, and high fructose corn syrup. They are individually wrapped to increase freshness.
Staple flavors for 3, 6, or 12 months
The Cookie of the Month Club delivers every month for 3, 6, or 12 months depending on what the customer prefers. The flavors include soft chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, cocoa loco, nutty by nature, show me the honey, and a current seasonal flavor. For 3 months, the cost is $89.95 ($30/box), 6 months costs $179.95 ($30/box), and a full 12 months costs $359.95 ($30/box). Feed Your Soul will often post discount codes right on their website to help you save a percentage off your total order, so keep an eye out for that.
Shipping varies based on customer location
Feed Your Soul says that all orders ship within 1-5 days and delivery times vary based on the region of the United States you live in. When you check out, shipping is calculated in the last step and costs about $10 for 3-5 business day shipping. As far as what time of month orders go out after that, it is unclear.
Feeding those in need
In 2020, Feed Your Soul donated 23,000 cookies and 20,000 meals to the Coalition for the Homeless. For every item a customer buys, Feed Your Soul donates a portion of their earnings to help provide the basics for people in need.
Good enough service
The Better Business Bureau does not have a rating for Feed Your Soul, but people who have visited their bakery in New Jersey have phenomenal things to say about the quality and service. A few people left reviews saying that their online orders arrived on time and tasted amazing. Overall, there isn't as much customer feedback as we would like, especially since there is a zero return policy here (although they will replace your package due to shipping errors). However, we don't have any reason to question the quality or legitimacy of Feed Your Soul, so it's a good option if you aren't hoping for too much diversity in flavor.
Is there any brand more iconic in the cookie world than Mrs. Fields? We think not. The first Mrs. Fields store was opened in 1977 in Palo Alto by Debbi Fields. The company is well-known for their warm, freshly baked cookies and has over 250 retail stores globally. In addition to cookies, you can buy brownies, cakes, berries, chocolates, and more from their robust online store.
Seasonal desserts monthly
If you've had Mrs. Fields before and enjoyed their freshly-baked goods, you're going to want to get in on their Cookie of the Month Club: Treat of the Month. The name is slightly confusing because you might assume that all you get in these deliveries are cookies, but most of them come with some form of brownies as well. Most boxes are based on monthly themes like Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, Christmas, and more.
Eat more cookies, save more money
The Treat of the Month Club can be delivered every 4 months (3 times/year), every other month (6 times/year) or 12 times a year (monthly). The cost for the 3 month subscription is $99.99, making each box about $33 each. A 6-month subscription is $179.99 ($30/box), and the yearly subscription is $329.99 ($27/box). The more often you choose to get deliveries, the cheaper each one is. Shipping is also free on all orders. If you sign up for their email list, Mrs. Fields will provide you with a code for 15% off your first order too.
Unspecified quantities
We want to say that the price of The Treat of the Month Club is reasonable, but we aren't 100% positive how much dessert comes in each box. You can view images of example boxes, which usually feature up to 20 cookies, some brownie bites, and what appears to be some chocolate-covered pretzels. However, the quantities or weight of each delivery are unspecified. You also won't know exactly what you're getting in each box until it arrives. As far as when arrivals happen each month, this is also a mystery.
Not the best for cookie clubs
Mrs. Fields has a decent "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau, but we wish they had a specified return policy or satisfaction guarantee. There are more than a few customer reviews that say the boxes are unpredictable with respect to quality. We wanted to give Mrs. Fields a higher rating, but maybe cookie clubs aren't their bread-and-butter. As much as we still like their company and products, Mrs. Fields doesn't earn our highest rating here.
Cheryl's Cookies began in 1981 in Columbus Ohio. The online store is named after the founder, Cheryl Krueger, who became an overnight sensation when on Valentine's Day, she introduced her signature buttercream cut-outs. Over time they've added more flavors to their buttercream frosting, keeping customers coming back for more. Cheryl's Cookies' sister companies are also dedicated to delivering goodies to people including 1800Flowers, Shari's Berries, Fruit Bouquets, Wolferman's Bakery, 1800Baskets and others.
5 gourmet dessert clubs to choose from
The cookie club programs from Cheryl's Cookies include The Buttercream Frosted Cut-Out Cookie Club, Gourmet Cookie Club, Sugar-Free Cookie Club, Gourmet Brownie Club and Best of Holiday Club that ship the first week of every month. It probably won't be hard to determine which of these clubs sounds the most appealing, but the details of delivery can get slightly confusing.
Buy more, save more
Most clubs allow you to select deliveries of 3, 6, or 12 months and pay-as-you-go. However, there is a prepay option and if you go this route, it will save you the most money. For example, if you want the 24 cut-out cookies for six months, you'll pay $19.99/month. But if you choose to pre-pay for the 6 months, the total is $99, which makes each delivery only $16.70. In short, the more cookies you buy at once, the more deliveries you select, and the choice to prepay will give you the best value here.
Shipping prices aren't straightforward
Deliveries that include more treats like Cookies and Treats Club start at $39.99 for a 3-month subscription of 28 items or $14.99 for a pay-as-you-go order. Gourmet brownies (10 count) start at $19.99/delivery and gourmet cookies (12 count) are $12.99/delivery. To complicate things, shipping prices are not straightforward at all, because they're determined by how much you buy and where you live. For us to purchase a 6-month subscription of 28 cut-out cookies, shipping was $20. It's frustrating to have to go through the checkout process before knowing how much shipping will cost.
Loyalty program = free shipping
Something to consider is the Celebrations Passport, which guarantees free shipping for a year from any of the Cheryl's Cookies sister brands with no minimum purchase. If you plan on shopping with these other companies, it would be well-worth worth paying the $19 to sign up. However, in the past we found fine print indicating that monthly memberships weren't included in that free shipping deal, so we encourage you to double-check before getting your hopes up. You can also sign up for Cheryl's Cookies email list and save 10% on your first order with them.
Festive cookie selections
You don't have to wonder what will come in each month's cookie box, since it's all spelled out on the Cheryl's Cookies site. Since the cut-out cookies are more decorative, they list what will come with each delivery. In March your box will include shamrock cookies, April will come with egg-shaped cookies, October will have pumpkin cut-outs, and so on.
Mediocre ratings at best
The Better Business Bureau gives Cheryl's Cookies a "B-" rating. This isn't terrible, but it's really nothing to be impressed with either. We like that Cheryl's Cookies gives a variety of dessert options to choose from since we all have different preferences. However, they could do some updating to their website to make everything more uniform and straightforward to simplify decisions for customers. Cheryl's Cookies has a good selection but we are concerned about the reported delivery issues and complaints against customer service from people who have shopped here. They say that if you aren't 100% satisfied with your order, they'll do their best to make it right, but this is too vague to be reassuring. To be safe, check out a higher-rated cookie club first.
Mollie B's Gourmet Cookies is based out of Los Angeles and was created as a tribute to the shop owner's memories as a child with her grandmother, aunt, and mom as they made desserts together from scratch. The cookies are sold through Cratejoy, a platform that connects people with gift ideas and subscriptions based around their passions all in one place. Whether it relates to beauty, self-care, food and drink, entertainment, travel, spirituality, crafts, or anything in-between, you can find something that strikes your fancy at Cratejoy. Unfortunately, we don't know nearly as many details about Mollie B's Gourmet Cookies as we do with other cookie club services.
Same flavors each month
Each box of Mollie B's cookies contains a dozen handmade, individually wrapped cookies. Each month the flavors appear to be the same: 3 brown butter chocolate chip, 3 snickerdoodle, 2 chocolate obsession, 1 oatmeal cranberry spice, 1 oatmeal pecan praline chocolate chip, 1 honey roasted peanut butter, and 1 ginger molasses. If these aren't your favorite types of cookies, then this subscription isn't for you since there isn't any diversity outside of what's listed.
Month-to-month delivery
All subscription box orders go out the first week of each month, but we aren't sure if your first box ships a few days after you order, or if you have to wait until the following month. There is a 1, 3, 6, or 12 month subscription option and your subscription automatically renews until you cancel it (which can be done at any time).
Non-transparent shipping costs
The month-to-month plan for cookie delivery from Mollie B's says it starts as low as $42.25/month. This is for those who subscribe to the 12-month delivery schedule, making the overall total $507. A month-to-month plan is $52/month, the 3-month plan is $48.90/month ($146.70 total), and the 6-month plan is $45.60/month ($273.60 total). None of these prices include shipping, which is calculated at the very end of the checkout process. You have to provide credit card information before seeing your total with taxes and delivery included. We don't like that! It's likely that shipping is based on where you live within the United States, but we aren't sure since we didn't want to give them our financial information first.
Room for improvement
Cratejoy, the platform on which Mollie B's Gourmet Cookies operates, has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. They've received many complaints from customers and haven't responded to the majority of them. Some people say the company is unreliable and doesn't deliver goods paid for, others say customer service is a pain to try and contact, and even sellers get frustrated working through Cratejoy. Unfortunately, Mollie B's Gourmet Cookies doesn't have any reviews of their own, or a satisfaction guarantee. Given all that, we aren't too comfortable with a cookie club subscription from Mollie B's.
Diva Cookies is a chocolate chip cookie subscription box based out of Chicago, Illinois. They are sold through Cratejoy, a platform that connects people with exciting gifts and subscriptions all in one place. Cratejoy aims to be a place where people can fuel their passions whether it relates to beauty, self-care, food and drink, entertainment, travel, spirituality, crafts, or anything in-between. As far as Diva Cookies goes, we don't know a lot of specifics about them or how they got started.
Chocolate chip, but with a twist
Diva Cookies says they occasionally include different flavors of cookies in their delivery boxes, but chocolate is their specialty. All boxes include an ingredient list with your dozen freshly baked cookies. You won't know which flavors you're getting ahead of time or if they'll be soft, chewy, or crispy, but sometimes your cookies will have unique ingredients like toffee, espresso, or even potato chips.
Recurrent deliveries
All subscription box orders go out the 15th of each month, but your first box will ship about 4 days after ordering. You can choose to pay month-to-month for your cookies or prepay for the 3- or 6-month plan. Month-to-month is $24.99/month, 3 months is $24/month ($72 total), and the 6-month plan is $23.50/month ($141 total). Rather than selecting if you want your cookies to come each month, every other month, or every 4 months, Diva Cookies sends all boxes monthly, meaning if you sign up in January, you'll get a box for January, February, and March. Then your subscription auto-renews until you cancel. If you sign up for their email list, Cratejoy will give you a 20% off code on your first delivery as long as the seller is participating.
Not upfront with all costs
One of the most frustrating things about trying to order from Cratejoy is that once you select the cookie plan you want, you won't know how much shipping or estimated tax are until you place your order. You have to provide credit card information first. Um, no thanks. What if shipping is $30? $50? It's unlikely, but companies should always be upfront with these costs. We assume shipping is based on how much you order and where you live within the United States, but can't be sure.
Better choices available
Cratejoy, the platform on which Diva Cookies sells their boxes, has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. They've received many complaints from customers and haven't responded to most of them. Some people say they pay for subscriptions that they never receive, customer service is unresponsive, and even sellers claim they are a pain to work with. On top of Diva Cookies having no customer reviews, they don't have much diversity in their flavors and aren't upfront with all of their costs or company background. We think you'll find better choices with the other cookie clubs in our review.
If you're looking for a new and exciting way to treat yourself or a friend or family member, you can't go wrong with a cookie club membership. They are surprisingly affordable and a gift you know you can't go wrong with. Although not all cookie clubs work exactly the same way, you're in for a delightful experience and you can cancel at any time: you aren't locked into anything.
