Feed Your Soul founder Mya Zoracki traded in stocks before she started her New York City cookie company in 2005. She says she started baking as a way to "give back.” Money from each purchase is donated to Feeding America and other programs to help the hungry in New York City. Feed Your Soul continues to be a Women Owned Company.
Not your mother's cookie recipe
The varieties offered at Feed Your Soul are creatively named and curated. From the catchy "Show Me the Honey” to the rhyming "Sassy Molassy,” cookies are the main attraction here. A Variety Cookie assortment box of 12 individually wrapped cookies sells for $44.95, or $59.95 for 24, and comes with these tasty flavors: First Batch, Show Me The Honey, Simply Sublime Key Lime, Snickerdoodle, Cocoa Loco, My Main Squeeze Lemonberry, Drivin' Me Coconuts, Nutty By Nature, Sassy Molassy, and Mystery Flavor. If you'd like to get your preferred flavor, you can order 12 or 24 of your choice for the same price as the variety pack. For a taste of summer, Strawberry Shortcake Cookies, Berry Best Raspberry Bars, and Blueberry Crumb Bars are also available.
Not just cookies
Additionally, varieties of brownies and other bakery bars are sold. The Cookie and Brownie Lovers Duo pack mixes the best of both for dessert lovers, as does the Cookie Brownie tower. If you can't decide between cookies, brownies, and bars, there are combo options, such as Best of the Batch Dessert tin, which offers 84 assorted items individually wrapped in their largest gift tin for $135.95. If you're desiring a different texture with a cookie taste, Feed Your Soul offers bagged Feelin' Crispy mini cookies available. These are sold in a three-pack of one of the flavors or a variety of all three for $25. Enjoy Toffee, Chocolate, and Chocolate Chip with a crunch.
Serving suggestions
All products on the site are baked fresh so they instruct customers to enjoy the treats within five days of receiving or to freeze up to six months. Since they are individually wrapped, the company says they can be frozen, thawed, and served when you need a treat.
Cookies every month
Want to get cookies every month without placing an order? You can sign up for the Feed Your Soul's Cookie of the Month Club for three, six, or twelve months. Since you pre-pay for the shipments, it's almost like getting free cookies. Starting at $134.95 for every month for three months, your shipping cost is free for each month of 12 individually wrapped goodies. Each month features an assortment of flavors. Feed Your Soul also offers Brownie of the Month subscriptions.
Save some "dough”
To help you save on your purchase, you can add your text number to receive a coupon. Also, when we visited, a site banner across the top offered a discount code and free shipping over $50. Shipping for a dozen First Batch cookies cost $14.16, so it's a better deal to spend a bit more and get the free shipping deal (5-8 business days) if it's offered. If you need faster shipping, UPS ground 1 business day is offered, costing $17.24 for a Cookie Brownie Tower, or UPS Next Day Air is $52.99. All orders placed by 11 a.m. EST ship the same business day.
Limited dietary restriction options
For those with dietary concerns, Feed Your Soul is certified kosher and offers a vegan brownie option. We'd love to see them expand a bit into gluten-free and nut-free cookies, but maybe that'll be on their radar in future offerings.
A gift that gives back
If you're looking for a corporate gift, Feed Your Soul has a page to simplify the process and add your custom logo and message. All assortments are ready for gift giving, and some of them include nicer tins to express gratitude. E-gift cards are available for purchase in varying denominations. A gift message may be added for free or a note with your may be added to include your company's logo is available for $3 extra.
Everyone loves them
The reviews for Feed Your Soul were overwhelmingly positive. There is no record of this business on BBB or Trustpilot, but Yelp had a high overall rating. Customers love the taste and freshness of the cookies. One online reviewer shared, "The cookies, bars, and brownies were divine. Will order again and again. Complete hit for us.” One negative reviewer complained about shipping mishaps and labeled customer service "lacking and unorganized.” At Feed Your Soul, all sales are final but they will replace items damaged or spoiled during shipping. Worth the extra money
Feed Your Soul offers tantalizing treat options while helping to feed the hungry through its charitable donations from each purchase. Free shipping for orders over $50 balances out the higher price with the saved delivery costs. Glowing reviews make us rank this bakery close to the top.
When you think of what goes into a cookie, often the ingredients are nothing special on their own. Flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking soda or powder, salt, and vanilla extract provide the basic building blocks for a cookie. There's something special that occurs when these essential components are mixed together and baked into a small treat. It makes us want to declare, as the Sesame Street character Cookie Monster often did, "Me want cookie!”
Ordering cookies online is a great idea because it's easy, convenient, and offers lots of choices. You can find all kinds of cookies that might not be available near you, and it's simple to compare prices and read reviews before buying. You don't have to leave your home, so you save time and effort. Plus, many websites deliver the cookies straight to your door, and some even let you customize your order to make the perfect cookie for you or as a gift to someone you care about.
Perfect for a sweet snack or an elaborate dessert, cookies can be simple or elaborate to meet your desired taste, texture, and even purpose. Cookies can even be made into cakes for celebrations, combined with ice cream for a creative dessert sandwich, and even become a vessel for a drink (think cookie shots). These sweet treats typically can reside in a jar on your kitchen counter, ready for you to indulge as the fancy strikes.
Cookies can trace their origin back to 7th Century AD Persia. Now modern-day Iran, this area was the one of the first known to cultivate sugar, thus providing an essential part of the sweet treat. Evolving over the centuries from something simple made from grains, water, and dates for the Egyptians to sustain their journey in the afterlife, to the gourmet goods now sold in the fancy bakeries of big cities, everyone loves cookies.
When looking for a gift or party treat, look no further than the cookie. It does not require serving utensils and is enjoyed by people of all ages. There are countless types of cookie combinations and traditions throughout all cultures. Each country has its favored variations of these baked goods, and then other bakers take those and make their own versions. There is literally a cookie to satisfy everyone's taste buds.
While dietary restrictions can keep some people from readily indulging, advances in baking techniques have allowed those with allergies to enjoy these hand-held desserts in more ways than ever. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, kosher, nut-free, sugar-free--the accommodations are in place to make cookies available to anyone with a sweet tooth if you know where to look.
