BDancewear founder Cyndi Marziani got tired of looking for well-made dancewear in colors other than nude or black. So, she created her own company that specializes in handmade leotards, briefs, skirts and more. BDancewear's apparel is all manufactured in the USA - often by hand! - and are designed to look great on stage or in the studio for a long time.
One advantage to working with a Dancewear company that makes all of their apparel in-house is the ability to get free color swatches. If you click on the "Fabric" heading, you can order up to 10 free swatches to help you match the color you need. Given that BDancewear has more than 200 color options, you may want to see for yourself if you want guava, fuchsia, or dark magenta.
Use the categories at the top of the page to find what you need:
You'll find that their pricing is very competitive, especially if you consider the quality of the Dancewear; there's nothing mass-produced overseas. Your order will ship for just $2.95 if it's under $50, and for free on any order of $50 or more. Orders do take 1-3 weeks to produce and ship, so it's a good idea to plan in advance if possible.
Want to see BDancewear's gear in action? Take a look at the Testimonials page. We enjoyed seeing the variety of ways their dance separates have been used to create unique looks for various performers around the nation - even the Jacksonville Jewels dance team!
The only reason BDancewear didn't receive a higher ranking is because of the extremely limited spectrum of products that they offer. For dancers looking for shoes, a particular brand of leotard, or sequined dance costumes, they simply won't find it here. On the other hand, we strongly recommend this retailer for people shopping for well-made dance apparel in the industry's widest range of colors.
Do you tap, tango, or tour jete? Whether you or your child's preferred form of expression is more traditional, like ballet or jazz, or tends to be more exotic like Bollywood or belly dance, having the right Dancewear is important.
Most Dancewear falls into two categories: everyday training and performance. Naturally, what dancers wear to the studio for practice and training - basic leotards and tights, plain shoes, and so forth - is quite different from what they use when they are performing in a show or competition.
Finding exactly what you're looking for can be a challenge when shopping locally. Most big-box retailers carry an extremely limited selection of brands and sizes, typically only basic leotards and tights for children and even then, on the smaller end of the size range. Specialty Dancewear stores usually have a better selection of both training and performance apparel and shoes, but outside of major metropolitan areas there may not be a retailer nearby.
For this reason, many dancers and their parents shop online for Dancewear. With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can easily find the brands, sizes, styles and colors you're looking for, without the hassle of driving all over town hoping that stores will have it in stock. And, as an added benefit, the prices are often lower than what you'll see at a brick-and-mortar retailer, because the business doesn't have the added expense of maintaining a physical storefront.
