Research says that nearly half of dogs sleep with their owners so it's not uncommon if your fur baby sleeps in your bed with you. It's also well-known that although there are some benefits to co-sleeping with your pet, there are drawbacks as well. Most notably, it can lessen the quality of sleep that you get, which doesn't make for happy days at work or an easier time handling the kids the next day. When you're ready for Fifi and Spot to go ahead and sleep in their own places, you'll need to shop around for a dog bed.
Before searching for a bed, take some time to observe your companion's sleeping habits and make note of the things they tend to like. Consider the size, style, shape, and materials that they tend to be drawn to. Does your furry friend get hot at night? Do they like to have blankets to cuddle up with? Do they tend to make themselves a "pillow?" What kind of spaces do they like to sleep in during the day?

With a motto of "quality and aesthetics" Wayfair really delivers in a lot of areas and dog beds are no exception. They have the largest selection of any of their competitors and free shipping on most items. With their vast inventory and fantastic shopping experience, Wayfair gets our top rating among retailers of dog beds.
Chewy hasn't been in business super long compared to some of its competitors, but this retailer is definitely making its mark. With thousands of happy customers and the best return policy out there, we recommend you give them a try when shopping for a dog bed.
Hayneedle has a decent selection when it comes to dog beds, with some fun styles you and your favorite friend might get a kick out of. With free shipping and affordable costs, they might be the perfect choice for your dog bed.
Fur Haven is a smaller company based in the Pacific Northwest. Despite their smaller selection of dog beds, we found lots to be happy about: affordable, free shipping, and great reviews. Don't hesitate to check out this online store.
Veehoo is a surprisingly great option for buying a dog bed. They have very reasonable prices and you can't beat what customers are saying about their service. The only drawback is their lack of choices. If you're looking for a cot-like bed, this is the store for you. If you're envisioning something different you can check out the other options they have, but since there aren't many, you may not find what you're going for here. Give Veehoo a browse and see for yourself.
PetPlay is a newer company that is focused on making good quality, eco-friendly products for a reasonable price. While most of their dog beds aren't on the more affordable side, they do still fall within the range of a lot of their competitors. We loved their commitment to give back to the community. Go ahead and see if you can find something you like here.
Short PetSmart has been around a long time and you've probably seen their retail stores as you've shopped around. That's a good thing because it makes returns a breeze if that becomes necessary. They have a rewards program if you'll be buying frequently, and their prices are very competitive. There are a lot of competitors that we prefer, but PetSmart is still a solid choice overall.
Walmart is the go-to for so many things - including dog beds. They have a good selection, an easy to navigate website, and very affordable prices. If those are things that are important to you, then this may be the place you'll find your four-legged friend's bed.
Paw is a newer company on the market and they have some really unique dog beds. The founder didn't like how most beds don't go with the look of the home so he created ones that have the look of a faux fur area rug. Check them out to see what we mean. The selection is so limited here that we can't give this store a higher ranking but some people will think this is the best dog bed store ever.
Majestic Pet is a dog bed retailer with a few styles in their inventory. They have a lot of happy customers - which is a great thing. We didn't like that the price on the thumbnail wasn't true to the final price, though. As long as you know that ahead of time, you can go ahead and see if you can find what you're looking for at this retailer.
Petco has been a well-known name for a long time. They have a ton of supplies for pets of all kinds and have a large selection of dog beds in particular. They have their fair share of complaints about shipping and customer service - or lack thereof - so one of our higher-ranked retailers might be a better choice.
Should you buy your pet's bed from Dog? This retailer definitely does not have the best shipping and return policy compared with its rivals. However, their prices are very competitive and they offer price matching if you find the same bed elsewhere. Checking them out may be worth it if those things are high on your priority list, but this isn't our favorite place to shop for dog beds.
Dog beds come in so many shapes, sizes, fabrics, and price points that it can be as overwhelming shopping for Fido's bed as it is a human bed. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you shop:
