Where is the Best Place to Shop for a Dog Bed?  We humans like having a soft, safe space to lay our heads whenever we crave some much-needed rest, so it makes sense that a dog would enjoy this too. Whether you co-sleep with your furry friend or not, dog beds are useful to have around the house as a home base for your dog - somewhere for him to hoard his toys, take a little nap, or just relax when you're out and about during the day.
Chewy's mission is to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents and partners everywhere. They are an American online retailer of pet food and products based out of Plantation, Florida. Originally founded under the name, "Mr. Chewy" in 2011, the company took off and within 6 years claimed 51% of pet food sales in the US. They went public in 2019 and by 2023 they reported net sales of $11.15 billion. Besides dog beds, Chewy sells food, treats, toys, leashes, clothing, health products, and more for all types of animals. They're a one-stop shop for anything your furry friend might need.
Lots to narrow down
Hopefully you have an idea of what you're looking for when you shop at Chewy because they have over 970 results for dog beds alone. Some of the categories these fall under include orthopedic beds, bolster beds, pillow beds, sofa beds, elevated beds, covered beds, and personalized beds, among others. You can sort by your breed size, bed features (machine-washable, waterproof, removable cover, cooling, heated, chew-resistant), bed length, width, and height, color, shape, lifestage, brand, fill material, cover material, style, pattern, price, and more.
New customer perks
At the time of our most recent visit, Chewy was offering a deal where new customers could spend $49+ and get a $20 e-gift card. If you sort dog beds by price, you'll find that the cheapest dog bed here is just $10.37 for a Frisco self-warming reversible mat for either a cat or dog. It's nothing fancy, but would add a little padding to an otherwise hard floor. There are hundreds of options between $10 and $50, so you don't have to spend an extravagant amount on a dog bed from Chewy. Their most expensive dog bed is made by the brand Big Barker and is meant for "giant" dogs. It is an orthopedic bed with a removable cover for $599.95.
Free shipping with order minimums
On first-time orders over $35, Chewy offers free shipping. This may take anywhere from 1-3 days, which is pretty speedy. For returning customers, shipping is free as long as your order total is over $49. Otherwise, the cost to ship is a flat-rate of $4.95.
Satisfaction guaranteed
All orders placed through Chewy come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This means that if your dog doesn't love his new bed and you need to try something different, you can send it back for a refund or exchange it for something different. The best part is that you have 365 days from when you make your purchase to do a return. This is pretty generous. To initiate a return, you can call Chewy at the phone number they provide online, chat with them through the website, or send an email with your order number.
Gold standard
Chewy has a solid "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau, and customers report being impressed with the amazing customer service offered by the company. A comment that stuck out to us was from someone who had to return a huge bag of dog food because their dog died, and they later received a floral arrangement from Chewy expressing their sadness and condolences for the owner's loss. Unheard of. People agree that Chewy is the gold standard for how companies should operate since they truly care about their customers, have competitive prices, and have every product you would need for your pet.
Raw customer feedback
Aside from general customer reviews, it helps to know that Chewy has unfiltered product reviews on everything they sell. Some dog beds have had thousands of people leave feedback about them, so you can narrow down what people think about individual products here, which is invaluable.
#1 place to shop for dog beds
From the huge selection to their generous return policy, we are really impressed with Chewy. Based on their phenomenal customer reviews, we definitely aren't the only ones. Chewy has earned our highest rating for dog beds and we highly recommend turning to them first when you're ready to shop for one online.
Wayfair is one of the world's largest home retailers with over 30 million products from more than 20,000 suppliers. They serve over 22 million active customers and this number just keeps getting higher. The categories here (just to name a few) include bedding and bath, rugs, lighting, decor, organization, kitchen, home improvement, appliances, holiday, and pets. Aside from a huge inventory of trendy, unique products, Wayfair is known for their major discounts, so you can get a lot of bang for your buck.
Over 6,000 dog beds
The amount of dog beds we found at Wayfair blew all of their competition out of the water. There are over 6,000 results, so it's safe to say that if you shopped at Wayfair and nowhere else for a dog bed, you'd easily find more than you bargained for. When filtering through products at Wayfair, you can sort by breed size, and they list certain breeds that might fall within a size category that you can reference. You can specify certain features you want (elevated, orthopedic, removable cover, cooling function), the type of bed (with pictures), different colors and patterns (also with pictures), price, customer rating, shape, brand, cover material, and more. Wayfair definitely takes the cake for having the most shoppable website as far as being able to narrow down what you're looking for.
Unique, fun styles
Just for fun, we have to point out some of the unique dog beds that caught our eye at Wayfair. Some were comical like the pink velvet bed with a tufted headboard and silver trim. Nothing screams "high maintenance" like having your dog lounge on something like that! There was a cognac leather orthopedic dog bed that looked like a miniature version of something we'd choose to furnish our own home with. The dog sofas here will make your furry friend look and feel like royalty and the plush cave houses will be so cozy that you might never see your dog again. Of course, aside from their novel styles, Wayfair has more than enough traditional dog beds too.
Detailed product pages
We like shopping at Wayfair because they give so much information about each product. When you select a dog bed, you'll get a list of colors it comes in, sizes, customer rating (often based on feedback from thousands of people), the delivery window based on your zip code, additional accessories to complement your dog bed, a description of the product, detailed specifications, and even some videos of the product. They cover absolutely everything, so there's no need to wonder about the details of your purchase.
Wide price ranges
You'll score a 10% off code on your next purchase if you sign up for text messages from Wayfair. Once you discover all that they have to offer here, you won't be stopping at dog beds, so any discounts you can get will be to your benefit. Dog beds start at $14.40 and vary based on the material, size, and type of bed. For an orthopedic pet bed by Buddy Rest in an extra large size, you could spend as much as $949.99, but that might be overkill. (Plus, that bed doesn't even have great reviews.) Wayfair really is known for their affordable price tags, so you can easily stick around the $100 range or less if you need to and still have plenty of choices.
Free shipping and 30-day returns
Wayfair gives free shipping to customers when they spend over $35 on their order. They have a standard 30-day return policy on items that are in their original, undamaged condition. Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping, but otherwise you'll be eligible for a full refund of the item as long as it meets Wayfair's criteria.
Have confidence shopping here
The thousands of customer reviews on dog beds should give you enough insight to decide whether or not you're making the right choice in buying one. However, if you need an extra confidence boost, it helps to know that Wayfair has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau. This is an extremely popular store and they're well-liked by buyers.
One of our favorite stores
If it's not obvious already, we really like Wayfair. Their selection is so fun to browse and we're never stressed over how much we're spending. They give ample information on every item, so we always know exactly what we're getting when we make a purchase. This is a store that knows how to give customers a smooth online shopping experience and their selection of dog beds is truly impressive, so they've earned one of our highest ratings.

Luxury for different personalities
When you purchase a dog bed from P.L.A.Y., you're getting luxury. You can start by shopping for either small, medium, or large beds, standard beds, lounge beds, memory foam beds, snuggle beds, or outdoor beds. There is quite a wide range of styles and colors here to fit different personalities like a camouflage dog bed, a circular bed with soft spikes coming out from all sides, floral prints, teepee-shaped beds, classy houndstooth designs, or simple neutrals. In total there are 29 dog beds available.
Safer sleep
The plush filling in P.L.A.Y.'s dog beds are made from recycled water bottles. All dog beds are machine-washable, with removable pillows and lead-free zippers. Some are even OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, meaning they've been tested for harmful substances and passed the inspection.
Most beds in the $100 range
The least expensive bed or mat from P.L.A.Y. is their coastal series chill pad starting at $35. It comes in 5 colors and 5 sizes. It can be moved around the house or used in a pet crate for extra comfort. For under $50 P.L.A.Y. also sells an outdoor chill pad that can be rolled up and taken on-the-go, or a fleece "Big Foot" mat that's shaped like a paw that comes in 2 sizes. On the other pricing end, you could spend up to $389 for an XL "California Dreaming" memory foam bed. Most dog beds start around the $100 range and go up slightly if you're looking for a medium or large size.
Spend $150 for free shipping
Like many dog bed companies, if you sign up for P.L.A.Y.'s marketing email list, you'll receive a code to use towards your purchase that will save you 15% off your order. When you spend at least $150 on dog beds and other products from P.L.A.Y., your order will ship for free. This means that if you're getting a dog bed for under this amount, it might be worth considering adding an interchangeable bed cover to have on-hand or new bed fillers if needed as well. You can get toys and gear for your dog here too - like leashes, collars, carriers, crate mats, and so on.
30-day return policy
If you decide to return or exchange your unused dog bed from P.L.A.Y., you can do so within 30 days of receiving your order, but keep in mind that customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. To initiate a return, either call customer service or send them an email with your order number and photos of the product, and they'll assist you with next steps.
Above and beyond
P.L.A.Y. is a certified B-Corp as of 2016, which means they've met rigorous social and environmental performance standards. For every bed purchased through P.L.A.Y., another bed is donated to a local shelter through their "Warm Bellies" initiative. They also have a scholarship fund that is awarded to three high school students each year with the goal of raising awareness for animal protection. P.L.A.Y. is also partnered with the International Fund for Animal Welfare to give back a portion of their proceeds from their animal-themed toy collections to support animal welfare and conservation.
Highly rated products and company
Besides P.L.A.Y.'s "A+" Better Business Bureau rating, they also have product reviews on all their dog beds. These ratings will give you a summary of what customers think of the product, sometimes including a picture, and always with a rating out of 5 stars. Most products have these unfiltered ratings, and most of the dog beds are rated extremely high.
Enough to keep any dog happy
You'll definitely find a bigger selection of dog beds through some other retailers, but don't let this deter you from shopping at P.L.A.Y. They have beautiful dog beds that will likely outperform the cheap options you could get somewhere else both in quality and safety standards. There are enough color and size options here to keep any pet happy, so we highly recommend shopping here for your dog bed. P.L.A.Y. has earned one of our highest ratings.
At Paw, they believe that pets are family. After feeling frustrated by a lack of beautiful and functional dog products, the founder of Paw started the company. His own dog, Marlie, tests all the products they design and if she doesn't love it, they don't sell it. Paw is about creating innovative products to make you and your pet feel at home together.
Aesthetically appealing
All the beds sold by Paw are designed in-house. The idea is that your pet's bed and other furniture should look as good in your home as your own decor and furniture do. Many of the dog beds here look similar to a rug or something that you might use for an aesthetic boost in your room. They come in mostly neutral colors like white, beige, gray, cowhide print, black, or brown.
35 dog bed choices
For all the hype around Paw and dog beds being their main product, we were a little surprised that there are just 35 dog beds here in total. Most of them are a plush, flat, mat-type of bed, but a couple of them have higher edges all around for a more snug feel. The sizes range from small to giant, and you can sort through the 35 beds by the size criteria you need, the style you are going for, your color preference, or by material (faux fur, luxe faux fur, faux leather, or multi-fabric). Some beds are made with memory foam and others are orthopedic beds. The dog beds themselves don't have waterproof or water-resistant features, except for some bed liners, but you can purchase waterproof dog blankets separately for $129 to put inside or on top of your dog's bed.
Most dog beds over $129
The least expensive dog bed from Paw is $46. At this price you can get a medium faux fur orthopedic dog bed in brown. This particular bed was on sale, but if you bought it at full price, it would be $229. Many of the beds are listed as being on sale, so if you sort by the lowest prices, you can quickly identify the best deals. Most dog beds here cost between $129 and $229 at full price. If you sign up for marketing emails from Paw, you'll get a 20% code to use towards your next order sent to your inbox, so that's an easy way to save a bit. At the time of this review, Paw was also offering a seasonal discount code that could save you up to 75% on your order.
Earn points on purchases
We recommend signing up for Paw's V.I.P.P. (very important pet parent) account. It's free to do so and you'll earn points on every purchase. You'll rack up one point for every dollar spent and get 50 points automatically just for signing up. You can earn more points on your pet's birthday, if you leave reviews, if you add photos and videos to your reviews, if you follow Paw on social media, and more. There are 3 tiers of Paw V.I.P.P. membership: bronze (available to everyone), silver (achieved by spending $500), and gold (achieved by spending $1,000). Silver and gold members will always get free shipping on orders. We did notice, though, that whatever amount we were spending through Paw, shipping was free at checkout. This may not always be the case, but luckily it's the deal we scored at the time.
30-day returns minus shipping
For unused and unopened dog beds that you choose to return to Paw, you have 30 days from receipt to get a full refund. A $19 shipping fee will be applied. However, if you open up your dog bed and take it out of its vacuum-sealed packaging, it's still eligible for a return within 30 days, but a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund as well as the $19 shipping fee.
Guaranteed against flattening
All memory foam dog beds come with a 10-year guarantee against flattening. If you experience flattening within that time, you can simply send a photo to customer service and they will replace the dog bed if it qualifies under their guidelines.
Fantastic customer reviews
Some of the dog beds from Paw have thousands of unfiltered customer reviews on them. We were excited to see this because it's extremely helpful when shopping online, and many of these reviews included photos of the beds in the owner's home. Reviews tell you how many stars the customer rates the product, the bed style and size, the weight of the customer's dog, and their breed. We found that not only are people using these beds for dogs, but some people even use them for giant potbelly pigs as well. The overwhelming majority of people give Paw's dog beds nearly a 5 out of 5 star score.
High ratings
The Better Business Bureau gives Paw an "A+" rating. For the most part, Paw also has extremely positive feedback from customers both on their website and on third-party sites. They are commended for their good customer service, high quality of products, how seamlessly the dog beds fit in with home decor, and more.
A classy choice
If you're looking for a classy dog bed that will last a long time, we're big fans of Paw. They aren't your cheapest choice, but people agree that the quality of the dog beds here are worth it. Their dog blankets and other products would make a great addition to your home, car, or when you're traveling too, so be sure to check those out. Paw has earned a high rating from us.
Walmart's humble beginnings started with a man named Sam Walton who had a vision to help people save money on standard retail items. The first Walmart opened in 1962 in Roger, Arkansas and they've experienced explosive growth since. Today there are over 4,800 Walmart locations throughout the United States ranging from supercenters to specialized outlets. At Walmart you can buy groceries, electronics, toys, home goods, clothing, pick up your prescription from their pharmacy, get your tire changed at their car center, and so much more. As always, they live by their "Save Money. Live Better" slogan and keep their prices competitively low.
Sort by brand or features
The 290 dog beds you can buy at Walmart come from brands like Vibrant Life, Furhaven, Veehoo, SENNAUX, Majestic Pet, Apmemiss, Nisrada, and others. You can sort the inventory by brand if you have one you really like, price, availability, size, material, customer rating, Some of the available bed features might include cooling, covered, elevated, foldable, heated, pillow, or portable.
Mix of styles
Since Walmart carries a range of products from so many different brands, you'll get a decent mix of plain dog beds and ones that are a little more vibrant and unique. We found plenty of bright pink dog beds, including one that even looked like a little strawberry house. They have multi-colored dog beds that resemble cotton candy colors, leopard print, ones with stripes, and other fun patterns. You'll also get plenty of options for neutral dog beds that blend in more easily with a room in colors like beige, gray, black, or white. There's not really a certain style here since there is such a variety of brands.
Lower than low pricing
It's not uncommon to find already low-priced products on sale at Walmart and that's why their prices are sometimes unbeatable. The most affordable dog bed here is just $9.98 for a medium tufted dog bed from Vibrant Life. The dog bed that costs the most is a memory foam bed we've seen through some other retailers: it's suitable for humans and dogs with a washable cover and was on sale for $129. As we browsed, we found plenty of choices under $50 and nearly everything else under $100, so if you use the pricing tool to filter out the options that aren't in your budget, you should be left with more than enough options.
Multiple delivery methods
You'll probably find a few dog beds in-store if you visit Walmart, but not nearly as many as they have on their website. Walmart always gives a free in-store pickup or drive-up option when you shop online with them, but that's only for products you're buying that they also carry at your local store. It's likely that you'll need to have the dog bed you order shipped to you, which usually takes just a couple of days. For us, the dog bed we wanted was able to arrive in just 2 days, and since we were spending over $35, shipping was free.
90-day returns on most items
Walmart's standard return policy is generally 90 days from the date of purchase with a receipt. You can easily return a dog bed in-store at no cost or send it back by mail, which they also typically cover the cost of. However, there are some instances where items are not shipped directly by Walmart itself, and the return policy for these might differ slightly. The same goes for warranties on products, so double check the return policy and warranty of the dog bed you're choosing to buy so that you don't run into any surprises if you need to send it back for a refund or exchange later on.
Plenty of customer ratings
Whenever you're shopping from a store as popular as Walmart, you can always count on there being hundreds of product reviews on most of their items. This is definitely the case with dog beds, as we found at least a hundred and up to a couple thousand reviews on certain products. Referring to these will give you additional insight about product longevity, quality, softness, delivery, and customer service. You'll likely get to view a lot of photos of the product in different homes and used by various breeds and sizes of dogs as well.
Differing BBB ratings
Walmart's website in particular does not have a Better Business Bureau rating or any customer feedback, which is interesting. There are other profiles for just "Walmart" ("A+" rating) or "Wal-Mart Stores" that all have slightly different information. With a store as big and wide as Walmart with an online store and in-person shopping, it's hard to gauge whether or not you'll have a good experience with one particular product. That's why we are happy to see that they have so many reviews on each dog bed that's for sale here.
Covered with the basics
Walmart's low prices and easy returns make it a pretty low risk choice to shop with them. If you find a dog bed here that you like and it's at a good price, don't hesitate to put it in your cart and purchase it. You might as well get your dog's accessories and food while you're at it too and get it all delivered to your home. Walmart isn't a luxury brand or going to get you the most posh, unique, or specialty dog beds, but they've got you covered for the basics.
Furhaven Pet Products was established in 2004 and is headquartered in Bellingham, Washington. Their company mission is to bring snuggly-soft comfort to pets of all shapes and sizes at affordable prices. They're a family-based company with pets of their own, so they pull from everyday experiences to design their products, and they test them daily to make sure they meet their standards. Their products consist primarily of beds for dogs and cats, but you'll find a selection of toys, treats, and home and travel items too.
Mix of pet beds for dogs and cats
When you're viewing all the pet beds from Furhaven, you'll get a mix of ones that could be for dogs or cats. In total, there are 56 choices that you can narrow down by style, size (x-small to jumbo plus), sleep style (burrower, curler, leaner, sprawler), color, or sleep surface. Some of the beds are round with high edges on all sides, some have a full ceiling covering like a cave, and one really fun one (that was sold out at the time) was shaped like a little sailboat.
Select sizing for pricing
When you select a bed you think will work for your dog, you'll see a range of size options that it comes in. When you select the one you want, then you'll see pricing. There is a "specifications" tab on each product page that lists the dimensions for each size. You can also view a description of the bed and care instructions for the cover and the foam.
Discount code and free shipping
Furhaven offers 10% off your order when you subscribe to their emails and text messages. None of us like being bombarded with marketing messages, but if it helps you save a significant enough amount of money, sometimes it's worth it. Dog beds range from $12.99 for an extra small bolster bed that sits in a kennel or crate to $232.99 for a 60" x 48" chaise lounge dog bed made of quilted faux fur and velvet. Regardless of how much you spend, shipping is free through Furhaven.
Worry-free warranties
We recommend going back to Furhaven's website within 14 days of purchase to register your dog bed so that it's covered under their 60-day worry-free warranty. This will ensure that your dog bed can be replaced if it gets damaged. You'll likely need to submit photos or the damaged product or send it back in order for your warranty claim to go through. On top of the 60-day worry-free warranty, all pet products come with a 90-day manufacturer's warranty against defects of material or workmanship.
Free 30-day returns
If nothing is wrong with your dog bed, but you simply change your mind about it, that's okay too. Furhaven offers a free 30-day return policy for customers, so you always have this to fall back on in case you're unsure about your purchase.
Honest product reviews
We appreciate that customers can leave reviews on the pet beds they buy from Furhaven. Some only have a couple, but they're helpful to read through. The best is when you find reviews that customers included pictures with so you can see what the product looks like in real-life and what size of dog is using it.
BBB rating not a good reflection
We were really thrown off to find that Furhaven Pet Products Inc. has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). We didn't expect to see this, but the rating is because of their failure to respond to 4 complaints against the business and 13 total complaints that were filed. Normally we'd heavily weigh this poor rating as a factor in our evaluation, but it doesn't seem like an accurate reflection of the company overall. Customer reviews of dog beds here are generally quite high and the company has a lot of good perks, so we wouldn't shy away from them based on their BBB rating alone.
Not a bad choice
Furhaven doesn't have the biggest selection of dog beds out there, but what they do have is reasonably-priced and functional enough. It's nice to get a warranty that covers damage as well as a general manufacturer's warranty, with the option for free 30-day returns. This isn't our top choice for dog beds, but it's not a bad one either, so Furhaven still earns an above-average ranking here.
PetSmart loves pets and believes that having pets makes us better people. Their company was established in 1986 and has over 1,660 locations throughout North America. They sell a variety of pet food, apparel, toys, and pet services including training, boarding, grooming, and more. PetSmart is also a leading funder of animal welfare through their charities to help animals find loving homes through adoption. To date they've helped over 11 million pets be placed in safe homes.
520 dog beds and furniture
To narrow down PetSmart's selection of over 520 dog beds and furniture, you can look specifically at cuddler beds, orthopedic beds, crate mats, pillow beds, elevated beds, cooling and heating pads, or blankets and ramps/steps. You can also look for a particular brand, size, color, see what's in your price range, or view dog beds by customer rating. Needless to say, there is no shortage of options here. Some beds come in different sizes while others are a one-size bed. We found beds with seasonal themes, beds in all different patterns like zig-zags, stripes, and florals, fuzzy circular beds, tent beds, animal-themed beds, and more.
Stay on the lookout for sales
At the time we were shopping at PetSmart, they had a 20% off sale on all their dog beds. They periodically run deals like this, so watch out for them to get a bargain on your purchase. You'll get free shipping when your order total comes to at least $49 or more at PetSmart, which is a deal they run year-round. Dog bed pricing ranges quite a bit here - from a geometric cuddler bed that comes in navy or pink for just $11.99 to a large orthopedic washable and waterproof bed for $374.99. There are tons of options for under $100 and even under $50 if you're on a budget and don't want to overspend with something too fancy.
Some same-day pickup and delivery options
When you're browsing dog beds, you can shop by store to see if there are any that you like near you that you could order online and conveniently pick up same-day. Most pickup orders are ready in as little as 2 hours. You might also be eligible for same-day delivery if you live close enough to a PetSmart that has your dog bed in stock. If you aren't in a rush and don't have the dog bed you want in stock close by, you can opt for standard shipping instead. Usually your order will arrive in just a couple of days.
Return in-store or by mail
PetSmart makes it pretty easy to return products you change your mind about. As long as you have the receipt, you can take back your dog bed within 60 days of purchase. If you choose to return your item to one of their stores, you'll get a full refund of the purchase price (minus shipping fees). If instead you need to return your dog bed by mail, you'll need to call their customer care team at the number provided on the website and use the return label they provide. The cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Product reviews and Q&A
Not only does PetSmart have extremely useful product reviews on their dog beds with comments, photos and star ratings, but there's a Q&A section as well. These are quite active with tons of questions from customers about things like how the covers hold up to washing, what parts of the dog bed are removable, when other sizes might come back in stock, clarification on dimensions, and more.
Many facets to consider
The Better Business Bureau gives PetSmart a "B-" rating because of their failure to respond to 6 complaints against the business. This isn't so bad compared to some of the reviews left by people who complain about how poor customer service is here. It's tricky to gauge how well a company operates overall when they have customers who are shopping online and in-store for such a wide variety of products and services. Some people are upset with an employee they dealt with, some don't think they treat their animals how they should, and others feel like they charge too much for pet medications and office visits. There are so many facets that have to be considered. However, in the case of dog beds, we wouldn't worry much about making a purchase here. Refer to individual product reviews to make a good buying choice.
An obvious choice
PetSmart has a good selection of affordable dog beds, which is what we are most interested in for the purposes of our evaluation. The company may suffer from some other product or service issues, but they have a good variety of dog beds, convenient shipping and return options, and helpful reviews from customers. They're an obvious choice for dog beds, and PetSmart earns a good score here.
Based out of San Antonio, Texas, Majestic Pet has a history dating back to 1994 as a premier manufacturer of pet products. Majestic Pet started out selling only dog leashes and collars, but over the years they've grown to offer a diverse range of products including custom pet beds, dog crates, pet gates, pet stairs, car seat covers, and odor-eliminating sprays.
Comfort and style
Rather than viewing all the dog beds available from Majestic Pet at once, you can choose from a variety of styles including the top-rated bagel bed, stylish rectangle bed, comfortable round bed, plush pillow bed, cozy crate mat, or relaxing contemporary lounge bed. Within each of these categories you'll find quite a few options that have the same shape, but come in either small, medium, or large sizes. Next, you can select your favorite cover material. If you're a type A personality, you'll be happy to find that at Majestic Pet, you have enough color and design choices to match your dog's bed with your furniture.
Replacement pieces
Some dog beds give you the option to purchase the entire bed or just buy a cover replacement or insert replacement. We love this because if you buy a dog bed here and one part of it wears out over time, it's a great option to be able to replace it piece-by-piece when needed instead of wastefully replacing the entire thing. This also means you could buy a dog bed and choose a few different covers to go with it if you want to have an extra on hand for when you're washing one, or just to be able to switch out the design.
Price depends on size and style
The cost of a dog bed from Majestic Pet depends on the style and size that you need. Bagel beds start at $49.99 for the smallest size and go up to $129.95 for an extra large, sherpa design. Rectangle beds start at $25.99, round beds start at $28.99, pillow beds start at $28.68, crate mats start at $35.99, and lounge beds start at $27.99.. As you can see, there are no major differences in prices among styles, but they do vary a bit depending on what you need.
Product deals and free shipping
If you join Majestic Pet's email list, you'll get 20% off your first order. This is a pretty good deal. At the top of Majestic Pet's website, they advertise that orders ship for free if you spend over $49. However, on their shipping page, they say that shipping costs $4.90 for orders under $100, but orders over $100 qualify for free shipping. There is a discrepancy here, but luckily we found that when we were ordering a rectangle dog bed for just $64.99, we qualified for free shipping. Majestic Pet just needs a bit of a website update, but we're happy to spend less and not have to pay for delivery.
30 days to change your mind
If within 30 days of purchasing your dog bed you decide you've changed your mind about it, you can return it for a full refund. Returns must be in new, original condition with all the manuals, parts, and packaging to qualify. You will need to contact Majestic Pet for a return authorization before sending back your dog bed and you'll be responsible for paying the cost of return shipping.
Report damage during transit
Aside from a 30-day return policy, Majestic Pet also gives a 7-day period for you to report any damage that may have occurred during transit. It's unlikely this will happen, but if you see an issue with your dog bed when you open up the package, you can quickly reach out to Majestic Pet and they will rectify the problem.
Weak BBB rating
There aren't many customer reviews on each dog bed sold by Majestic Pet, but the option for people to leave honest feedback is there. Surprisingly, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) gives Majestic Pet an "F" rating because of their failure to respond to 2 complaints and a total of 3 complaints filed against the business. This doesn't scare us off at all, actually. In some cases, the BBB doesn't have a lot of information about a company to go off of, so their rating can change over time or isn't based on many factors.
Polarizing customer reports
What does matter to us is what customers beyond the BBB have to say about their experience with Majestic Pet. We found a lot of mixed feelings, including quite a few people saying over the years that customer service here is extremely poor. Also, about half of reviewers said that their dog bed was beautiful and high-quality, while others complained it was just the opposite. There are really inconsistent views about the performance of Majestic Pet's dog beds, so we feel pretty iffy shopping here.
Not the best or the worst place to get a dog bed
At face value, Majestic Pet has a clean website that's extremely straightforward with lots of attractive dog bed options. Their pricing is reasonable and they have a solid return policy and opportunity for free shipping. They seem like a safe bet until you dig into what other people have said about them. Because of some poor reviews, we aren't as confident that the dog beds here are going to hold up over time or even be high quality from the start. There are a lot of things going for this company, so it may be worth glancing at what they offer, but they aren't earning a top rating from us.
Veehoo has an assortment of products for both dogs and cats, with a focus on pet beds. Their brand is located throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, China, and Europe. The company doesn't provide information about their history like where they originated, where they're based out of, or when the company got started. Rather what you'll find here is a simple, straightforward website with an assortment of beds for cats and dogs and a blog that was updated over a year ago.
Not our favorite browsing experience
When we were looking at all the dog beds from Veehoo, we found a total of 43 results. This also included items like dog car seats and elevated bed replacement covers. Quite a few dog beds were out of stock, so the real options for dog beds were fewer than it initially appeared. You can shop specifically for elevated beds, orthopedic beds, inflatable beds, bed mats, or calming beds, but this is the only filter you can use to narrow down your selection. We wish you could at least sort by size or color so that you didn't have to click on each product to see what options are available.
Lacking detail
We feel like information about the different dog beds from Veehoo is lacking. For example, we were viewing an oval orthopedic pet bed and the specifications simply had a one sentence description of what the bed was like. Thankfully there are sizing measurements in the photos, but you won't necessarily know what materials the dog bed is made of, how to care for it, and other important details.
Practical dog beds
Most of the colors that the dog beds come in here are beige, black, silver, brown, or gray. If you're in the market for bright, unique, fanciful dog beds, Veehoo is not your place. We would describe all the dog beds here as very practical and neutral. They won't be very eye-catching, but they appear to be comfortable enough.
Cheap options
The least expensive option that was in-stock from Veehoo was a fuzzy pink calming pet bed. Even though we were looking specifically for dog beds, this one featured a picture of a cat (though we realize most pet beds work for both). For $19.99 it came in 8 colors and the sizes ranged from small to xx-large. The most expensive bed was still cheap at just $89.99 for a soft, giant, inflatable mat for humans and pets. The full inventory at Veehoo is one of the cheapest overall that we've found so far. Plus, they offer 10% off of your first order, so that saves you even more.
Free shipping with order minimums
Shipping is free throughout the United States if you spend over $79.99 from Veehoo. This is great, but considering the low prices of the pet beds you might be buying, there's a good chance you won't hit the $79.99 mark. If this is the case, you'll pay $5.99 if your order is under $49.99 and pay $3.99 if you spend between $49.99 and $79.98. Delivery time for all orders is 2-5 days.
Muddled 30-day return policy
If you're not satisfied with your dog bed from Veehoo, the company asks that you email them within 30 days of delivery. In order to qualify for a refund, one of the following conditions must be met: the product is flawed or malfunctions, the wrong item was sent, items are missing from your order, or you accidentally bought the wrong color or size. For items that you accidentally purchased in the wrong size or color, you'll need to reach out to the company within 48 hours and present photo proof. So in reality, this 30-day window isn't very flexible. Plus, further down their returns page it mentions that customers need to contact the company within 14 days for any returns, so the timing of everything for returns is a little unclear.
Possibly unreliable product reviews
Not all Veehoo dog beds have customer ratings. What we found weird is that all beds with ratings show that they have a 4.5 out of 50-star rating. When we read through the comments on these reviews, some customers said that their dog bed was low-quality or didn't last long because it was easily torn up, yet there was a 5 out of 5 star rating attached to the comment. This makes us think that the reviews here, although unfiltered in the comment section, are attached to unreliable star ratings. Be leery of this and read through what people have to say, rather than the rating the product appears to have.
Well-liked for the price
For the most part, Veehoo is well-liked by customers. They don't have our favorite website to shop at, a huge unique selection, or straightforward customer reviews, but their dog beds do receive high praise. People like the ease of assembly and appearance for the most part, which is great considering their low prices. The Better Business Bureau doesn't have a rating for the company, so we recommend paying close attention to what buyers say instead.
An okay option
If you're just looking for a cheap, basic dog bed, give Veehoo a shot. You can't go wrong if you're spending well under $100 on any given bed, so as long as you like the size and color of the dog bed, you'll probably be making a safe purchase. We would like to see more details about each product from the company and a website with some better features, but for now we are okay with what we see here and have given Veehoo an average rating.
Petco describes themselves as a category-defining health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of pets, pet parents and their own Petco partners. They were founded in 1965 and have 1,500 locations throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico. If you've ever needed to run to the store for pet food, pet toys, or nearly any type of pet product, it's likely that you've found yourself in one of Petco's stores. And, they have a vast online selection that blows their in-house inventory out of the water.
No shortage of choices
To show just how many items we're talking about when we say "vast inventory", Petco has over 850 results for dog beds on their website. To be fair, this does include some bed accessories like blankets, throws, and protective covers, but you're still getting more options than you'll know what to do with. For starters, you could search by the size of your dog (small to extra large breeds), the color you've envisioned, bed shape, price, customer rating, life stage, bed fill, material, and more.
Neutral or bright colors
For each dog bed you click on, you will get a list of available sizes and colors. At Petco, they have dog beds of neutral colors or fun ones like bright pink, orange, purple, or multi-color. They include plenty of pictures of each product for you to view so you can see the bed from all angles and up-close. Every dog bed listing also has a detailed description and specifications.
Most beds between $25 and $50
Prices on dog beds could be as low as $7.99 for something like an XX-small quiet time black fur pet bed/mat or as much as $596.99 for dog bunk beds with a ladder. The majority are between $25 and $50 though, so we wouldn't consider Petco an expensive place for dog beds.
3 shipping options
Depending on the dog bed you're interested in and how close you live to a Petco, you might have the option to pick up your order from one of their stores (and save up to 20% on the order) or get same-day delivery for free. If you end up needing standard delivery, it's free if you spend over $35 and usually arrives in just a couple of days.
Return within 30 days for full refund
If you aren't 100% satisfied with your Petco order, you can return it to your nearest store for free or send it back by mail (you'll be responsible for return fees) within 60 days of purchase. The catch here is that for a full refund, you'll need to return your dog bed within 30 days, but if it's between 31 and 60, then you'll get your refund via a store credit.
Not the greatest reviews
Because of Petco's failure to respond to 11 complaints against their business and 3 complaints that were never resolved, the Better Business Bureau gives them an "F" rating. On top of this, Petco has really poor ratings from customers in general. The main complaint is about customer service and delayed shipments. With a store that operates both in-person and online and sells so many different types of products, the potential for issues is seemingly limitless. Many reviews don't have a lot to do with dog beds specifically, so it's helpful that there are unfiltered product reviews on their site. It seemed like most Petco dog beds had around a 3-star rating though, which isn't super impressive.
Not a top choice
Petco is a good option if you need something in a pinch. However, they sell so many different products and services that they aren't honing in on any given one like some higher-rated dog bed retailers are. This makes it hard to compete with other companies and often results in customer service issues and mediocre products. Although there is a huge selection of dog beds at Petco, they are not one of our top choices.
Continued from above...
Your dog might do well sleeping away from you in another part of the house, or maybe you'll want to have a dog bed in your room so they know you're close by. Not everyone wants their dog in their bed during the night, since it can lessen sleep quality overall and cause a distraction for both of you. Giving your dog his own space close to you is a good way to improve rest at night and feel the comfort of having each other close.
Most people have at least one dog bed in their home, but for larger spaces or multi-story homes, you might even want to snag a couple to put around your main areas. But as simple and straightforward as finding a dog bed sounds, you'll quickly realize that there are a lot of choices when it comes to finding the right one. You'll discover all different sizes, materials, colors, and shapes. Take note of how big your dog is to make sure you find one that's cozy, but roomy enough for him to fit easily.
Will he want something really soft and fluffy? Or does he overheat at night? Would he sleep best with a pillow or blankets in the bed to snuggle with? Every dog's sleeping habits are different, so be sure to take yours into consideration when you jump online to shop for a dog bed.
