At Paw, they believe that pets are family. After feeling frustrated by a lack of beautiful and functional dog products, the founder of Paw started the company. His own dog, Marlie, tests all the products they design and if she doesn't love it, they don't sell it. Paw is about creating innovative products to make you and your pet feel at home together.

Aesthetically appealing

All the beds sold by Paw are designed in-house. The idea is that your pet's bed and other furniture should look as good in your home as your own decor and furniture do. Many of the dog beds here look similar to a rug or something that you might use for an aesthetic boost in your room. They come in mostly neutral colors like white, beige, gray, cowhide print, black, or brown.

35 dog bed choices

For all the hype around Paw and dog beds being their main product, we were a little surprised that there are just 35 dog beds here in total. Most of them are a plush, flat, mat-type of bed, but a couple of them have higher edges all around for a more snug feel. The sizes range from small to giant, and you can sort through the 35 beds by the size criteria you need, the style you are going for, your color preference, or by material (faux fur, luxe faux fur, faux leather, or multi-fabric). Some beds are made with memory foam and others are orthopedic beds. The dog beds themselves don't have waterproof or water-resistant features, except for some bed liners, but you can purchase waterproof dog blankets separately for $129 to put inside or on top of your dog's bed.

Most dog beds over $129

The least expensive dog bed from Paw is $46. At this price you can get a medium faux fur orthopedic dog bed in brown. This particular bed was on sale, but if you bought it at full price, it would be $229. Many of the beds are listed as being on sale, so if you sort by the lowest prices, you can quickly identify the best deals. Most dog beds here cost between $129 and $229 at full price. If you sign up for marketing emails from Paw, you'll get a 20% code to use towards your next order sent to your inbox, so that's an easy way to save a bit. At the time of this review, Paw was also offering a seasonal discount code that could save you up to 75% on your order.

Earn points on purchases

We recommend signing up for Paw's V.I.P.P. (very important pet parent) account. It's free to do so and you'll earn points on every purchase. You'll rack up one point for every dollar spent and get 50 points automatically just for signing up. You can earn more points on your pet's birthday, if you leave reviews, if you add photos and videos to your reviews, if you follow Paw on social media, and more. There are 3 tiers of Paw V.I.P.P. membership: bronze (available to everyone), silver (achieved by spending $500), and gold (achieved by spending $1,000). Silver and gold members will always get free shipping on orders. We did notice, though, that whatever amount we were spending through Paw, shipping was free at checkout. This may not always be the case, but luckily it's the deal we scored at the time.

30-day returns minus shipping

For unused and unopened dog beds that you choose to return to Paw, you have 30 days from receipt to get a full refund. A $19 shipping fee will be applied. However, if you open up your dog bed and take it out of its vacuum-sealed packaging, it's still eligible for a return within 30 days, but a 20% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund as well as the $19 shipping fee.

Guaranteed against flattening

All memory foam dog beds come with a 10-year guarantee against flattening. If you experience flattening within that time, you can simply send a photo to customer service and they will replace the dog bed if it qualifies under their guidelines.

Fantastic customer reviews

Some of the dog beds from Paw have thousands of unfiltered customer reviews on them. We were excited to see this because it's extremely helpful when shopping online, and many of these reviews included photos of the beds in the owner's home. Reviews tell you how many stars the customer rates the product, the bed style and size, the weight of the customer's dog, and their breed. We found that not only are people using these beds for dogs, but some people even use them for giant potbelly pigs as well. The overwhelming majority of people give Paw's dog beds nearly a 5 out of 5 star score.

High ratings

The Better Business Bureau gives Paw an "A+” rating. For the most part, Paw also has extremely positive feedback from customers both on their website and on third-party sites. They are commended for their good customer service, high quality of products, how seamlessly the dog beds fit in with home decor, and more.

A classy choice

If you're looking for a classy dog bed that will last a long time, we're big fans of Paw. They aren't your cheapest choice, but people agree that the quality of the dog beds here are worth it. Their dog blankets and other products would make a great addition to your home, car, or when you're traveling too, so be sure to check those out. Paw has earned a high rating from us.

Where is the Best Place to Shop for a Dog Bed?

We humans like having a soft, safe space to lay our heads whenever we crave some much-needed rest, so it makes sense that a dog would enjoy this too. Whether you co-sleep with your furry friend or not, dog beds are useful to have around the house as a home base for your dog - somewhere for him to hoard his toys, take a little nap, or just relax when you're out and about during the day.

Your dog might do well sleeping away from you in another part of the house, or maybe you'll want to have a dog bed in your room so they know you're close by. Not everyone wants their dog in their bed during the night, since it can lessen sleep quality overall and cause a distraction for both of you. Giving your dog his own space close to you is a good way to improve rest at night and feel the comfort of having each other close.

Dog Bed Store FAQ

Just like people, dogs need a comfy bed to sleep on. On average, dogs sleep anywhere from 12 to 18 hours every day, depending on their age and breed type. When your dog has a bed, they have their own safe space that allows them to relax in a spot that is devoted to them and that helps protect their joints and bones for years to come.
Of course, dog beds range in all shapes, sizes, and types. Dog beds are made to fit any size from tiny to massive. Giant dog breeds especially need supportive beds to protect their knees and elbows from hygromas.
Many dogs are chewers - especially at a young age. Look for dog beds that are called "chew proof” or "chew resistant”. While no company can guarantee complete chew protection, many manufacturers make some sturdy options.
Although you generally can't customize a dog bed, you can find an option that fulfills your pet's needs. Many sites allow for you to find a product based on the type of bed fill, bed shape, material, color, life stage, bed type, breed sizes, and more.
When it comes to picking a bed, you must consider how your pet prefers to sleep. A pooch that likes to sleep in a ball or tight circle will like round, pillow top nesting like beds. Whereas a dog that prefers to hide away and stay warm when they sleep is more likely to prefer a tent or cave bed. Along with bed types, knowing the type of bed cover is important. Younger dogs prefer more contouring loose filling pads. Older dogs tend to go for the solid pad since they would most likely have problems getting up and dogs that have health issues, such as joint pain or arthritis, would love to snooze on orthopedic mats.
Dog's beds that have been loved so much that are not pleasant to look at, smell funny, and/or are not sanitary for your pooch should be replaced. If you have a pup that likes to get their paws dirty, a bed that has a removable and washable cover is recommended.
On average you should wash your pups bed every 1 - 2 weeks, especially if you or a loved one has pet allergies. If your pet sheds a lot, or frequently is outdoor, you might want to wash the bedding more often to prevent your allergies from acting up, keep your pouch clean, and to prolong the lifespan of the dog bed.
Most companies offer a customer satisfaction guarantee, that includes a refund policy. If you have a finicky pup, be sure to shop from a customer friendly online company.

Continued from above...

Most people have at least one dog bed in their home, but for larger spaces or multi-story homes, you might even want to snag a couple to put around your main areas. But as simple and straightforward as finding a dog bed sounds, you'll quickly realize that there are a lot of choices when it comes to finding the right one. You'll discover all different sizes, materials, colors, and shapes. Take note of how big your dog is to make sure you find one that's cozy, but roomy enough for him to fit easily.

Will he want something really soft and fluffy? Or does he overheat at night? Would he sleep best with a pillow or blankets in the bed to snuggle with? Every dog's sleeping habits are different, so be sure to take yours into consideration when you jump online to shop for a dog bed.

There are many companies that sell dog beds online, but they aren't all created equal. Some companies have a lot more to offer than others, so we've done the research to help you find the ones that will provide the best selection and quality for the furry best friend in your life. Here are some major things to take into account when weighing your dog bed options:

  • Selection. Does the company have a lot of choices for dogs that are grown and those that are still puppies? You will likely be washing your dog bed more frequently if you have a puppy, so find a retailer that offers machine-washable, waterproof materials. For older dogs, you'll want a bigger size, possibly with more cushioning to support their aging joints. Your dog might prefer something fluffy or maybe something that's a little more firm and smooth. A good retailer will give you plenty of choices for all these factors.
  • Price. How much are you willing to spend on a dog bed? It's helpful when a company's website has filter features for you to adjust the price range you want to stick to so you see what you can comfortably afford. See if the company offers free shipping or if they often run sales that would allow you to save a bit on your dog bed.
  • Return policy. If you put your dog bed in your home and realize that it's the wrong size or the material doesn't feel at all as you expected, can you return it? How long do you have to send it back? Is there a store you can take it into or will you need to pay to send it back?
  • Reputation. What other customers say about a company is one of the biggest factors to take into consideration when shopping online. Are people satisfied with the timeliness of delivery, quality of the dog bed, and the attitude and helpfulness of customer service? Pay close attention to what people say on third-party sites, the rating the company receives from the Better Business Bureau, and what product reviews are like (if any).
