The main series of drones include DJI Mavic, DJI Air, DJI Mini, DJI Avata, DJI Inspire, DJI FPV, DJI Phantom, DJI Spark, DJI RC, and DJI Power series. It's impossible to compare them all in one review. We will only review the top-model consumer drones in a limited number of series. However, we noticed that DJI's reputation among customers reflects a mix of positive and negative feedback, so customers should carefully consider everything each product offers and how people have reacted to DJI as a brand.

Here's a rundown of DJI's most popular consumer models of drones.

• The Mavic Series comprises the Mavic 3 Pro and Mavic 3 Classic, featuring advanced camera systems, extended flight times, and omnidirectional obstacle sensing. DJI Mavic 3 Pro camera is excellent quality

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro has the best camera quality among DJI's camera drones. It features a main camera with a large Four Thirds 20MP sensor, providing excellent image quality and professional video functionality. Also, the Mavic 3 Pro has two additional telephoto cameras with 70mm and 166mm equivalent focal lengths. With advanced features like omnidirectional collision avoidance, precise subject tracking, and an adjustable aperture on the main camera, the Mavic 3 Pro is the most advanced consumer/prosumer drone DJI offers.

DJI Mini 3 prevails on lower cost and features comparison

The DJI Mini 3 offers the best balance of low cost and features among DJI's camera drones. Despite its affordable price point, it still provides impressive capabilities:

Which DJI drone offers the best value?

• The DJI Mavic 3 Pro has the best overall battery life and range among DJI's camera drones. It can fly for up to 43 minutes on a single charge with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. The Mavic 3 Pro also has an impressive max transmission distance of 15 km in unobstructed environments.
• The DJI Mini 3 Pro is another strong contender, with a maximum flight time of 34 minutes, or 47 minutes using the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus feature. However, this exceeds the 249g weight limit for many countries, so the standard battery providing up to 38 minutes of flight time is more practical for most users.
• While the DJI Air 2S and other models also offer excellent battery life and range, the Mavic 3 Pro's combination of long flight time and extended transmission distance makes it the top choice for those prioritizing endurance and coverage area.

Universal obstacle avoidance and recovery features

Almost all of the DJI drones on offer have some measure of obstacle avoidance through sensors that detect objects and obstructions below and all around the device depending on the model. Return to Home (RTH) recovery is built into all models. When a drone senses low battery levels or transmission rates, it can return to the operator automatically. However, some users have reported issues with RTH recovery for the Air 2S.

Reasonable returns and repairs

DJI provides comprehensive support, repair, return, and warranty services. DJI's customer reputation could be better

Given DJI's established position and brand recognition, its reputation among customers ought to be better. The absence of DJI from the Better Business Bureau website raises our eyebrows a bit with respect to transparency and accountability in customer interactions. Trustpilot ratings reveal a polarized sentiment, with half of customers expressing dissatisfaction through one-star ratings. This indicates that customers either strongly like or dislike DJI's products and services with little opinion in between. While some commend the company for its responsive customer service and efficient issue resolution, others voice frustration with various aspects of their experience.

Still, many positive reviews

Positive reviews highlight streamlined repair and replacement processes, timely responses from support representatives, and satisfaction with product quality. However, negative feedback raises concerns about delayed deliveries, challenges obtaining refunds or returns, and perceived product functionality or compatibility problems. It's a mixed bag, for sure.

Very high on our list

We recommend DJI for its longevity and solid position in the drone industry. However, customer satisfaction is still a factor in this rating. Addressing owners' concerns could help DJI enhance its reputation and improve customer satisfaction. Anyone looking to purchase a drone from DJI should go into the transaction with their eyes wide open regarding some of the ups-and-downs of the brand, but overall it's easy to give DJI a very high rating on reputation and variety alone.
