Walk-In Lab is committed to providing affordable and direct-to-consumer testing, empowering individuals to take control of their health while monitoring overall well-being. With a focus on preventive testing and early disease detection, Walk-In Lab ensures accurate and high-quality test results through its association with fully accredited, CLIA-certified medical reference laboratories. They value customer satisfaction and confidentiality, and customers can access their lab test records through a secure online portal.
10+ years of experience
Established in 2009, Walk-In Lab is a leading provider of lab tests and wellness screenings. They offer numerous advantages, such as a lowest price guarantee, confidential and fast results, nationwide lab locations, and a wide variety of home test kits. Customers can conveniently order and pay for blood test labs from home, making it accessible to both insured and uninsured individuals.
Clunky site requires lots of scrolling
While the site seems clean at first glance, the only way to browse the tests is a long (and we mean really long) scrolling list. Also, the available list of subcategories doesn't include drug tests (though there are some related tests like saliva or urine). If you don't already know what to look for, there is a lot of trial and error ahead of you, which can be very frustrating. The best way to find the drug tests available at Walk-In Lab is to search the categories drop-down along the top menu. Here you can see their long list of tests including blood, hair, and urine tests.
At home and in lab tests
While there are a variety of in-home urine and hair tests with Walk-In Lab, many of the tests do require customers to go into a brick-and-mortar location to complete them. The results for the tests vary depending on which test you order with some being as quick as 24 hours and others taking between 5-7 days before you get results. Consulting the particular requirements of each test is most helpful to determine how long you might need to wait.
Pricing depends on which lab you choose
The pricing for Walk-In Lab is a little complicated. Walk-In Lab has partnerships with Quest and LabCorp, so you may see different prices for each lab. Some options are the same price for both labs or only offer testing from one lab. In general, the pricing ranges from $27 for one blood test to $329 for the most expensive test.
Tons of locations, but no tests for some states
If you're worried about finding a lab near you, don't be. There is a convenient "lab locator” available on the Walk-in Lab website. For example, there were 25 different labs between the Quest and LabCorp options close to our current location. However, it's important to note that Walk-In Lab cannot sell tests to residents in the following states: New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maryland due to LabCorp limitations and Arizona, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island due to Quest limitations.
Good ratings, but some concerns about service
In terms of company reputation, Walk-In Lab is doing great overall. The company has an impressive "A+” rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. On top of that, the company also has a full 5-star rating from the BBB (though the total number of reviews is somewhat limited on the BBB site, this is still high praise). Further, with 5,000+ individual reviews, Walk-In Lab has a solid 4.1 star rating out of 5 from Trustpilot. Most of the reviewers are happy with the service though they appear to use more of the standard blood testing than drug tests. However, some customers left recent complaints about the customer service at Walk-In Lab, so that might be something to keep in mind.
Good for blood tests, but not a top option
Overall, this is a reasonable option for a drug test. However, if you're looking for the most user-friendly site to find your tests, Walk-In Lab isn't going to be it. As a service that focuses on in-person services rather than those that are shipped to your door, there is a little more hassle involved with Walk-In Lab than some of our higher-rated services. Considering the inconvenience, we can't rate Walk-In Lab higher since there are companies out there that provide easier access to drug tests and a better user interface overall. However, it is still worth a look, especially if you're specifically looking for blood tests.
While drug testing has become a widely accepted practice for both large and small companies, educational institutions, and sports teams, there has been a noticeable shift in the last decade with a growing customer category: parents. With increasing concerns about teenager's potential involvement in illegal substance use - or even the misuse of prescription medications - moms and dads are taking a proactive approach to ensure their children's well-being.
Another reason at-home drug testing is becoming more popular is for D1 athletes to spot-check themselves (especially considering some prescription medications can cause false positives) to make sure they won't be disqualified from their sport for something that isn't their fault. Whether you're looking for drug tests for teen safety or any other reason, at-home drug tests offer a convenient and confidential method to monitor potential drug activities.
Regardless of your reason for buying an at-home drug test, rest assured that you are not the only one. In the United States, there are up to 10 million individuals aged 12 to 29 who require treatment for substance abuse at any given time. Drug testing serves as a valuable tool to identify whether someone is using drugs and can be instrumental in getting them the necessary help and support they need to overcome their challenges.
Depending on where you get your drug tests, there are a few different ways to complete them: some use blood testing in a lab, others check urine or hair samples, and sometimes they test for an unknown substance. The type of test you choose will depend on how invasive you want the procedure to be or if you're looking for a particular kind of substance. For example, the blood test is more invasive, but it is less expensive than hair testing, which has great results and is less invasive.
So, if you're looking to buy drug tests, where can you go? Well, there are a few trustworthy and private services available online that can assist you in getting a particular test and provide quick results.
