It's no secret that e-cigarettes have virtually exploded in popularity over the past decade - and it's easy to see why. Originally just a high-tech alternative to traditional smoking, people are attracted to e-cigarettes for a variety of reasons, including the diverse range of appealing flavors, the ability to customize the experience, and the convenience that e-cigarettes offer.
To start off, the availability of a wide array of flavors, such as fruity, dessert, and beverage-inspired options, adds an element of novelty and excitement to e-cigarettes. This variety of flavors can make using e-cigarettes more enjoyable and engaging for individuals who appreciate different tastes.

Vapeshack has earned a stellar rating from us for their all-around dependable service and good policies. Where some companies stumble with customer fulfillment, Vapeshack has maintained good customer satisfaction in spite of changing laws and regulations regarding the shipment of vaporizers in the U.S. Without further ado, here's what led us to their 5-star review.
Quality selection
All in all, Vapeshack could be characterized by their smaller selection of high quality offerings. Vapeshack offers the best brands of disposable e-cigarettes, and offers a wide selection of starter kits all sourced from reputable brands such as Voopoo, SMOK, Uwell, Vaporesso, and Suorin. While the quantity is less than other websites, the quality certainly isn't. In addition, Vapeshack's selection of Dry-Herb vaporizers is slim but significant, as they only offer the high quality, reliable, and well-reviewed Pax brand. Taken together, all hardware sold on Vapeshack is from a reputable, high-quality brand, and they still provide a good range of lower-cost disposable options.
An excellent guarantee
Vapeshack's return policy is one of the best out there, offering a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with a product, they will refund you 100% of what you paid - provided you return the product in good condition, in the original packaging, with all secondary parts included. Considering that so many companies just don't do any meaningful returns, Vapeshack's policies here are downright generous. While they do not specify, it is likely this guarantee (rightly) does not apply to their disposable products. In short, in a field that often puts stringent conditions on refunds, Vapeshack's policy is a breath of fresh air, and goes a long way towards their overall high score.
Explanations for every product category
One thing we appreciate is that for each product category - from disposables to nicotine salts, to e-liquids - Vapeshack offers helpful tips-to-know before purchasing. While ultimately a small thing, such tips are a friendly and helpful resource to those who may be switching from cigarettes to some form of e-cigarette.
Straightforward shipping policies
While shipping is a sore point across most companies selling e-cigarettes online, we find Vapeshack's policies to be overall straightforward and good. Vapeshack offers free shipping on orders over $99, and the company is very much on top of knowing local regulations regarding e-cigarettes. On the shipping page, for example, they clearly list states in which shipments are not possible (Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon, Vermont, Utah, APO/FPO & U.S. Territories).
On top of their game
Vapeshack also shows any extra shipment costs you may need to look out for in states less friendly to tobacco product shipments via mail. In our view, the free shipping is nice, but more comforting to us is the fact that Vapeshack appears to be knowledgeable about the suddenly emergent shipment bureaucracies that have made delivering e-cigarettes a tenuous business. This may be what has led to Vapeshack's excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Excellent rating with the BBB
With no customer complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Vapeshack has earned an "A+” rating. While we couldn't find many reviews about Vapeshack in general, the fact that there are no complaints at all on their BBB page paints a good picture as to their overall customer service and fulfillment capabilities. In a field where many formerly spotless companies have taken a massive hit in the form of customer complaints about shipping, it is amazing that Vapeshack has emerged unscathed.
High quality and worth your time
All in all, despite the fact that Vapeshack does not have the flashiest bundles, web pages, or deals out there, they're a reliable e-retailer with a generous return policy. And, when so many other companies seem characterized by unreliability, Vapeshack's complete lack of customer complaints with the Better Business Bureau is commendable. In addition, their easily navigable website and overall high-quality offerings have all led to our #1 ranking and a recommendation to give them a look if you are in the market for a new box or pen rig, or just want a fantastic online retailer more generally.
With its physical store located in the suburbs of Torrance, California, VaporDNA extends its clientele far outside of CA's borders with their clean, easily navigable website and respectable products. VaporDNA has earned high marks from us across multiple categories, and here's why.
Respectable selection
VaporDNA carries an excellent list of box and pen kits and hardware in general, with popular brands such as SMOK, Geek Vape, Vaporesso, and Suorin. Their clearance section also contains offerings from some of the top brands, which definitely sets it apart from the relatively bare clearance and sale sections of competitors. Disposables are well represented with VaporDNA as well, with a good selection at market price. Where other sellers often carry materials you'd likely find in your local head shop, these are notably absent from VaporDNA, and can be found on their sister website Tokendab.
An overall good rewards program
VaporDNA has a good (if complicated) rewards program. Points can be applied to any purchase, and are earned by reviewing their products, leaving a picture with the review, leaving a video with the review, and by getting 1 point for every dollar spent on their product. They have three rewards tiers based on the amount of money you spend with them:
Easy to earn points
In short, if you are already purchasing your products online, why not make your dollars go farther with rewards? VaporDNA also offers a friend-referral program: you can give your friend a $10 discount, and if they spend $50, you'll get $10 in points. This could be mutually beneficial if your friend also uses e-cigarettes. And - important to keep in mind - VaporDNA does offer a 20% military discount to servicemembers.
A respectable return policy
VaporDNA has an overall fair returns policy. You are able to return your device within 45 days of purchase, so long as it is cleaned with no residual burnt media in the device. While they do not pay for shipping on returns, and may charge a 15% returns processing fee if the device is user-damaged, not cleaned, or not easily fixable on return, all-in-all we appreciate that they go to the effort to help their customers, and offer a generous 45 days to do so.
Poor shipping reviews
It seems that shipment troubles have not left VaporDNA alone. While there are only four BBB reviews left over a 3-year period, they cite some difficulties with shipping and contacting customer service, which has earned them a "D-” with the Better Business Bureau. While VaporDNA passess the smell test in regards to most categories, and their return policies are some of the more generous on the market, such poor reviews regarding shipping cannot be overlooked, especially as they offer no shipment insurance through third-party providers.
Good choice despite shipping disruption
A good company is one that presents quality across all aspects of its service: returns and shipping policy, ease of access, quality of goods, and (importantly) discounts and rewards. We think that VaporDNA has hit the mark across most categories, though it is unfortunate that they have not been able to partner with a reliable shipping service or at least offer insurance for shipped packages. We hope VaporDNA is able to shore up their shipping services, and earn themselves a better review further down the line.
With their physical shop located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Smokers World is one we recommend specifically for the bulk purchase of disposable e-cigarettes. Let's take a look at what you can expect overall from this e-cigarette store.
An impressive curated selection
Smokers World's box kits, pens, and hardware are nothing to sneeze at, and they offer e-cigarettes from the top 5 most popular brands such as SMOKtech, Voopoo, Uwell, and Geekvape. Smokers World also carries an impressive selection of third party e-liquids, and replacement coil packs should yours need replacing. All in all, Smokers World sells a respectable selection of pen and box-kit vaporizers. Smokers World also sells a limited but respectable selection of glassware, e-cigarettes, and grinders for dry-herb use, with well-known luxury brands such as Storz & Bickel and DaVinci; by the same token, their glassware is branded and priced for quality, which - hopefully - means it won't break easily.
Disposables sold in bulk
Smokers World's main benefit is that they let you buy the most popular disposable e-cigarettes in bulk. However, it doesn't appear that purchasing in bulk nets you a better deal than competitors. For example, their 10-pack bundle of Elfbar disposable e-cigarettes costs $149.99, and the average price on other websites is $15 each. While Smokers World has a crossed-out, fake "non bundle” price of $300, don't be fooled: buying a bundle with Smokers World is (disappointingly) still market rate.
20% off your first order
Although Smokers World doesn't appear to offer any kind of loyalty or reward program, they do offer 20% off your first order, and access to their variable "community” deals if you register your email with their mailing list. So, if you're interested in deals or limited-time offers, making an account with Smokers World could very well be worth your while.
2-6 business day shipping
In line with major online e-cigarette stores that - following the U.S. vape shipping restrictions - saw a significant increase in shipping times, Smokers World offers "same-day shipping”, but this translates to a shipping time of 4-6 business days. Due to the precarious nature of shipping e-cigarettes, Smokers World has partnered with Route to offer shipping insurance. If you have a high-price order, it may well be worth your while to pay the extra to have it insured, even though it all-in-all is unfortunate that specialty shipment services are required in the first place.
A poor returns policy
While Smokers World earns marks from us for its varied and high-quality selection, their returns policy leaves much to be desired. Smokers World only issues refunds if they send you the wrong item. In addition, if the item is defective, they only offer a gift card to their own website. It is disappointing that a storefront with such a wide selection has such a poor return policy overall, though potentially an understandable one considering the overall cost and difficulty of shipping e-cigarettes.
Middling reviews
While it seems that Smokers World has shared the same difficulties as other websites regarding shipping, they are at least responsive to the many errors that do arise, as they respond to many customer complaints on a popular aggregate review site. That being said, they have no rating with the Better Business Bureau, so it is difficult to fully assess how they are performing at the moment.
A decent choice overall
While not having the best return policies overall, and no rewards or loyalty program, Smokers World delivers with their wide selection of high quality, highly popular items, even as their "bundles” option is more the illusion of a good deal than anything else. As such, Smokers World is definitely worth a browse, though you may want to also check out the higher-rated companies on our list for more generous returns and shipping policies.
Vapingland is a California-based e-cigarette retailer whose overall unpleasant website and average deals and rewards system has earned them a sub-middling score. Here's how we came to that conclusion.
An aggravating website
Vapingland's website is, quite honestly, hideous and overwhelming. Not only do they have a chatbot that dominates the bottom right corner of the screen with a fake "notification” appended to the top, but there is a small pop-up every time someone orders a product off of Vapingland (or one assumes, as we have no way of verifying). Why would any customer shopping the site need updates on when a product is purchased? To make matters worse, these aren't even real time updates. They continually flash across the screen at a steady rate, cannot be silenced, and are sourced from up to an hour earlier. Why clog the screen with overwhelming notifications unless you were trying to make the visitor feel overwhelmed? In addition, Vapingland's website is sprinkled with unsightly typos (such as "flavonrs” instead of "flavors” in a disposable vaporizer product description). In short, Vapingland's interface, and general lack of care in site design, is a significant detriment to their overall score.
Overall good brands and deals
While we take umbrage with their eye-straining interface, Vapingland does carry quality merchandise. Vapingland's collection of disposable e-cigarettes is diverse in brand and flavor, and includes brands such as Lost Mary, Geekbar, Elf Bar, and Horizon. For box mods and starter kits, Vapingland offers a "2 for 20%” deal, in which you can purchase two starter kits for 20% off the entire order; brands represented include Vaporesso, Geekvape, SMOK, Uwell, and Voopoo. In short, while we almost hate to admit it due to their aggravating website design, Vapingland's offerings are overall quality, and on par with the more well-designed websites on our list.
Rewards points offered
Vapingland does offer rewards points, but the exchange here is honestly terrible: you are able to discount $1 off an order for every 100 points earned. As you earn 1 point per dollar spent (or 20 for writing a review on their behalf), this literally amounts to about a penny of cashback, or 20 cents to review a Vapingland product. With such poor deals offered, signing up for their rewards program barely seems worth the time. As part of their rewards program, Vapingland does have a "refer a friend” bonus. If you refer a friend, Vapingland offers you $5 off your next order. Personally, we would be a bit embarrassed to ask a friend to sign up for anything through a website as annoying as Vapingland's.
Shipping free over $49
While Vapingland's overall user interface is aggravating to the extreme, they do have some good shipping policies, with free shipping on orders over $49, and a guarantee to have your item in-transit within 48 hours. However, Vapingland does not offer any kind of shipping insurance and states it is not responsible for any defect caused by or error in shipping. In short, while we appreciate the free shipping and (relatively) fast delivery, we think it would be ideal if they offered shipping insurance through an affiliate company as well.
No reviews, no BBB page
There is almost nothing out there about Vapingland in regards to customer reviews. We could only find one complaint about poor customer service in a single thread on a popular vaping discussion board. As such, there is unfortunately little customer data with which to determine their overall efficacy and customer service.
Fine products in an annoying package
Hey, if you don't mind navigating annoying popups, a poor rewards program that rewards pennies on the dollar, and all the rest, then Vapingland is likely a good e-cigarette store for you, as they do offer a wide selection of well-regarded brands. However, in general we do not appreciate companies with purposefully overwhelming websites, and you can get the same products with much less annoyance through higher-rated providers on our list.
Offering a good range of deals and an excellent range of products, Eightvape's seemingly solid eCigarette offerings are unfortunately hampered by poor reviews and poor shipping following regulatory changes with the USPS. It is unfortunate that a company with - on the surface - excellent value ends up underperforming in customer service and fulfillment in such a wholesale fashion. In any case, here is how we reached our rating.
Wide range of brands and excellent pricing
Eightvape offers a good selection of the most popular brands out there, and a nice variety of deals. In addition to their changing "8 under $8" products, they will usually have items labeled for clearance, and an ever-changing "daily deal”. When we looked at their most popular disposable e-cigarette product, Elfbar (the most common disposable brand these days), we found that they were actually being sold for about $3 cheaper than competitors, which can certainly add up over time. In addition, their clearance section is well-stocked with excellent deals on all sorts of products. In short, we are impressed by both the range of products available, and their competitive pricing.
Low quality head-shop section
While Eightvape has some high quality e-cigarette brands and products, their associated delta-9, CBD, and dry-herb products are subpar at best. With most glass pieces being low-quality silicone or china glass, you would likely be better served by a local glassblower or smoke shop. In addition, their dry-herb e-cigarettes are all rather inexpensive, and contain no offerings from reputable brands. If you are looking for dry herb e-cigarettes, don't go looking at Eightvape.
Loyalty and referral programs
Eightvape has an extensive reward and loyalty program, the participation in which can add some significant discounts to your future orders. You can earn points for tweeting at Eightvape, 2 points for every dollar spent on your order, 500 points on your birthday, and 25 points for writing a review. Points can be exchanged for discounts on a sliding scale, the most "expensive” being 500 points spent getting you $25 off orders of $100 or more, which equates to about a 5 cent value per point earned. While by no means game-changing in terms of the discounts you'll receive, if you are already ordering most of your e-cigarette equipment and concentrates online, then a rewards program could save you a nice chunk of change.
An okay 14-day limited warranty
While Eightvape doesn't offer any kind of shipping insurance, we appreciate their 14-day limited warranty, even though it is much shorter than that provided by some other companies. Eightvape's warranty covers two potentialities: if your product is defective, you are able to exchange it for credit if you create a support ticket within 48 hours of receiving your package, and then return it for in-store credit or replacement of the defective item. Eightvape also partially covers buyer's remorse, as long as you return the item within 14 days or less, unopened in the original packaging. In addition, Eightvape charges a 20% restocking fee for buyer's remorse returns. In sum, while these returns and warranty policies aren't amazing by any means, we appreciate Eightvape's customers have avenues to amend any potentially defective products.
Third-party shipping insurance offered
While Eightvape doesn't have any kind of insurance or guarantee regarding your goods which may be damaged in transit, they do partner with third-party shipping insurer Route to offer shipping insurance. Due to recent laws regarding the shipping of vaping products through mail, delivery from online e-cigarette stores has become more difficult over the years, and companies must rely on alternative, less reliable shipping services. As such, routing your order to one of Eightvape's pickup locations and/or purchasing shipping insurance through Route could be a good choice if ordering through Eightvape (especially considering their terrible reviews from customers regarding shipping, as you'll see below).
Very poor reviews regarding shipping
While Eightvape overall seems like a good and reputable service, customer reviews illuminate customer service that borders on the downright negligent. Customers filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau report being improperly charged for shipping when they had purchased enough to qualify for free shipping, receiving very late shipments, and encountering completely unresponsive customer service. The experiences reported by customers through the BBB are quite frankly terrible, and cast a pall over Eightvape's otherwise solid-seeming service. Whether caused by shipping and vendor changes, or simply the decline of the business, it is unacceptable for a company that ships potentially high-cost equipment around the country to have so many overwhelmingly negative reviews. In short, it seems that Eightvape's "F” rating with the BBB is well earned; while good on paper, Eightvape unfortunately doesn't deliver (in more ways than one).
Buy shipping insurance if you use Eightvape
Most e-cigarette companies have seen reduced customer service following the USPS' ban of vape products being shipped through mail, and Eightvape is no exception. If you can find your preferred products with Eightvape - and don't mind the purchase of shipping insurance and enrolling in their rewards program - they might be a good choice. However, do not be surprised if there are extensive delays, lost products, and unresponsive customer service, as it is the common experience of dozens of Eightvape's customers.
Offering locked-in disposable e-Cigarette cartridges with proprietary batteries, South Beach Smoke is certainly better than other legacy e-Cigarette companies on our list. However, unless your goal is to mimic the look of a cigarette, then you'd likely be better served by a refillable e-cigarette pen, and not need to rely on company-specific cartridges. Regardless, here's what South Beach Smoke has to offer.
Beachy but far from modern
With a beach-like feeling that may have once fashionably communicated the seemingly easy recreational vibe of smoking e-Cigarettes, South Beach Smoke is a company whose product feels stuck in 2012. Essentially, their e-Cigarettes are disposable cartridges attached to small batteries, and their starter kits will cost $29.99 for two batteries, a wall charger, and a 5 pack of cartridges/atomizers. In addition, if you sign up for auto-delivery of cartridges, you'll receive 20% off overall, which could be a good deal if you're dead-set on an e-Cigarette as opposed to a pen or box-kit.
A respectable rewards program
South Beach Smoke does offer a rewards program that gives you one point per dollar spent, a point for every product review submitted, 25 points if you subscribe to their auto-delivery service, and 20 points on your Birthday. You can redeem 200 points for $20 dollars of credit. In sum, they don't have any game-changing rewards, but it does reward your loyalty with a moderate discount.
Reviews hard to find
It was hard to find reviews about South Beach Smoke, simply because it seems so few people use the product these days. However, legacy smoking forums posts from around 2008-2013 are almost universally negative, and decry the poor flavor of the cartridges as the main problem with the service, and a scratchy unpleasant vapor overall. That being said, there are few complaints on the Better Business Bureau page, and they've earned an "A-” overall. So, while their product may be a bit outdated, it seems that they don't fail to deliver, and are all-in-all reliable.
Little to recommend
While there doesn't seem to be much of anything to recommend about South Beach Smoke, if you'd really want an old-fashioned e-Cigarette as opposed to a modern pen, disposable, or box kit, then it is likely South Beach Smoke is a good choice. However, if you're going to be investing in n e-cigarette, why not buy a product that lets you use third-party juices and liquids, as opposed to being locked into buying South Beach Smoke's cartridges? You could buy an introductory high quality pen, with the ability to use any kind of third-party liquid or salt-nicotine, for about five to ten dollars less than South Beach Smoke's cheapest starter kit. If you're going to be buying an e-cigarette, we recommend purchasing a well-reviewed modern pen or kit that will end up giving you more flexibility overall in your choice of product.
The Kind Pen specializes in a wide variety of e-cigarettes: from dry-herb, to e-liquid, to oil and concentrates. While on first glance they seem to be a reputable company, a bit of digging reveals some well-earned infamy for breakable and rebranded products.
Low-cost to premium prices
The Kind Pen certainly takes the cake as to the diversity of their products, as they offer a significant number of low-cost oil and concentrate e-cigarettes, in addition to smaller amounts of high-cost dry-herb vaporizers and gravity bongs. Many of their offerings tend to dip into the cheap/kitsch territory, such as their "Highkey” concentrate e-cigarette for $35, which is disguised as a key fob. While The Kind Pen makes many claims as to the quality and innovation of their products, we found that The Kind Pen - contrary to their claims - does not actually manufacture most of what they sell.
Rebranded wholesale e-cigarettes
Browsing through community resources gathered by e-cigarette enthusiasts revealed many complaints as to the infamously poor quality of The Kind Pen's products. In addition, some savvy experts pointed out that many of their offerings are simply rebranded versions of cheaper products. For example, The Kind Pen's "The DON” desktop e-cigarette is the exact same product as UnicVape's "Dabble” Smart e-rig; in addition, The Kind Pen's "Status” e-cigarette is the exact same as Airistech's "Herbva” portable vaporizer.
Who made it, exactly?
The fact that multiple supposedly premium products offered by The Kind Pen are simple rebrands of cheaper wholesale products, goes a significant way towards reducing their score. If The Kind Pen can't be trusted to disclose who actually made and designed the products they are selling, how can customers trust anything else about their claims?
A lifetime warranty offered
The Kind Pen does offer a no-questions-asked, no-returns-needed lifetime warranty, stating that they "built their vaping gear to last”. However, as it seems they have not actually built much of their "vaping gear”, we do not think their lifetime warranty is actually an indicator of the quality of their product. When viewed in line with their practice of reselling low quality e-cigarettes, we think it more likely that their generous policy is reflective of the fact that it's rather cheap for them to send you a new one, as they likely overcharged you to begin with.
Rewards program?
In addition, their warranty page states they offer a "rewards” program, but offers no indication as to how one might spend these rewards, or what valuation these points might have relative to one of their products. So, while we have taken into account that The Kind Pen offers a flexible lifetime warranty, and will send you a new e-cigarette if yours breaks, such policies must be read in tandem with their other less-than-scrupulous reselling practices
Poor ratings, good brand management
The Kind Pen appears to be excellent at managing their brand, because while they have an overwhelming number of positive reviews through a suspicious third-party aggregate review system, their rating with the Better Business Bureau is a solid "F”. Many savvy hobbyists online - with experience in headshops and through personal use - have complained that The Kind Pen has a reputation for cheap, easily broken e-cigarettes. Many also note (as we have as well) that while they claim to design their products, a vast majority if not all of them are simply upcharge rebrands of cheap, wholesale e-cigarettes. In sum, The Kind Pen's poor score with the Better Business Bureau rings true with their reputation in online communities dedicated to the discussion of affordable and high-quality e-cigarettes.
Better companies out there
While The Kind Pen certainly could be classified as experts in brand management, the sheer amount of imitation e-cigarettes they offer sheds doubts as to their reputability. If you are going to spend about $250 for a premium dry herb e-cigarette, wouldn't it be better done with a trusted brand, as opposed to one that simply relabels and resells cheap ones? While The Kind Pen is potentially a good choice for a low-end oil, e-liquid, or concentrate vape that you aren't too invested in, won't mind if it breaks, and are prepared to go through the warranty process, if quality and reliability is what you're after, we recommend you go with more highly-rated e-cigarette stores on our list.
Unlike other legacy e-Cigarette makers on our list, SmokeTip is still selling their product. However, it does not seem like that product was ever a very good one, and it has changed little since their founding in 2006.
Cheaper, but not necessarily a good deal
SmokeTip offers a variety of e-cigarette kits, with accessories sold separately. Their "OHM sample kit” costs $19 and includes a cartridge, a USB charger, and a battery. Their "starter kit” at $24.60 includes one battery, 5 flavor cartridges, and a USB charger. SmokeTip's "XL pod kit” costs $39.95 and includes a battery, two XL pods (equal to 5 packs of cigarettes per pod), and a USB-C charger. Finally, their "SmokeTip kit” includes two batteries, five cartridges, and a USB charger with wall adapter, and costs $39.95. While all rather cheap, SmokeTip's products are - quite honestly - subpar when compared to competitors. You can buy smart-pens complete with customizable temperature, vapor, and airflow settings that can use generic juice and liquids, for much cheaper than SmokeTip's proprietary system with locked-in battery and cartridge packages.
Few reviews
While SmokeTip does not seem to have any presence on major review sites, and is not mentioned at all on e-cigarette related forums, a quick dig to the comment section of a 2013 reveals repeated customer service and quality problems between 2013 and 2021, which range from frequent dead (to flammable) batteries, declining juice and vapor quality, and overall poor customer service. In short, while there are few SmokeTip reviews (and no Better Business Bureau page), the reviews that are there are bad.
A low info rewards program
While SmokeTip does offer a rewards program, it seems to be either defunct or they simply have forgotten to list any applicable information. They do not inform customers as to how they can earn rewards, and while you can apparently spend rewards points on nicotine cartridges, there is nothing indicating how many rewards points they cost.
A strange warranty
SmokeTip does offer a 100% lifetime warranty specifically for their lithium batteries. If your battery stops working, you get a free replacement with your cartridge orders for life (limited to three per month). Honestly, this feels nice but a little bizarre: why do they need to specify a max of three per month? Why would a customer need three lithium ion batteries per month if SmokeTip were confident as to the durability of their batteries in the first place? While we appreciate a warranty, SmokeTip's specific warranty raises more questions than it answers.
A working website, but that's about it
SmokeTip's terms and conditions haven't been updated since 2006, and it seems unlikely that their product has been either. There is a reason SmokeTip isn't a well-known brand, or generally sold outside of their website, and that's because - even when compared to disposable e-cigarettes - SmokeTip is simply outclassed. While we appreciate that they still have a functioning website, there is little to recommend about SmokeTip.
Look for a better company
If you are looking for a good quality e-cigarette, you would be much better served by a modern retailer selling the current best quality brands, as opposed to an outdated company like SmokeTip. You can get a fair-quality box kit with all its modern conveniences for about the same price as SmokeTip's outdated e-Cigarettes, and good quality pens for even less.
At one time an early e-Cigarette vendor with their own specialty brand, Vapor FI has significantly expanded since their inception, now offering a slew of e-cigarette products, accessories, and supplies. However, Vapor FI's irresponsible business practices and poor customer service have earned them a poor rating from us. While seemingly standard, and with helpful discounts offered, there are a number of concerning factors that have lowered their rating.
Pretty good selection
While Vapor FI does still sell their classic e-Cigarettes, it appears that they no longer actively market them, preferring to surface more popular (and more worth your time) advanced disposable, pen, and box-kit vaporizers. Their selection of disposables leaves something to be desired; while they do carry many major brands, some of those currently trending (such as Elfbar) are not offered. Their hardware selection is quite respectable however, and includes offerings from most major brands at market price.
Stolen credit card information
A bit of digging reveals some sordid details about Vapor FI. First off, it isn't an independent e-Cigarette provider now, but rather a subsidiary of the International Vapor Group (IVG), which also owns the online retailer Direct Vapor - which subsequently was acquired by the tobacco giant Turning Point Brands. Both Direct Vapor and Vapor FI customers had their credit card information stolen through the site due to malicious code inserted into their e-commerce site. If straight up theft and ownership by a giant conglomerate wasn't enough to dissuade you, then perhaps a pattern of repeated customer service failures will.
Dozens of 1-star reviews
Vapor FI has earned a "B-” from the Better Business Bureau, and it is clear to see why. Reading through customer complaints on the BBB listing reveals a company that hires unreliable third-party shippers, sells expired products, and features horrendous and unreachable customer service. So, while it seems that your credit card information is no longer being actively stolen through Vapor FI, your shipment may well take so long to arrive that you'll likely still feel as though you've been robbed.
An impassioned defense of... nicotine advertising?
Perhaps due to its corporate ownership, Vapor FI includes an extensive writeup on why vaping shouldn't be regulated, and heavily implied in the subtext is that vaping isn't marketed to kids. Whatever you think, the fact that this myopic study exists on Vapor FI's website, and they are owned by Turning Point Brands, points to the fact that Vapor FI's ethics are morally questionable.
Loyalty and refer a friend
While Vapor FI does include a loyalty program that offers 10 points for every dollar spent, and a refer-a-friend program that will let you give a friend a $20 discount, and get you $20 if your friend purchases $40 dollars of product, we have to raise the question: why refer a friend to a company that has had credit card information stolen from them and mountains of poor reviews? Exercise some good judgment and only refer your friends to reputable services.
Avoid Vapor FI
There are much better online retailers out there than Vapor FI, services that are not owned and operated by gigantic tobacco corporations, and actually have a functioning customer service and shipping providers. And, in general, we recommend you choose a company that hasn't mishandled customer credit card information. It's no wonder that Vapor FI is nearly the lowest-ranked e-cigarette store on our list.
Smoke Stik is a company that appeared to have some very brief success around 2008 to 2010, at the very advent of e-cigarettes. Still proudly displaying their Pitbull branded e-cigarette and the fact that Katherin Heigl at one time used their product, very little has changed since then, except for the fact that you can't seem to buy anything from their website anymore.
No longer selling their product
Here's the main reason we gave Smoke Stik a one-star rating: you can't buy their product anymore. Changing laws and regulations affected many e-cigarette sellers, and - potentially - it seems that these changing regulations have caused Smoke Stik to simply stop selling their product. Or, perhaps, their company was already on its last legs and out the door before changing regulations were passed. While they apparently still offer a 30-day warranty and a 30-day money back guarantee, they simply are no longer selling anything anymore to make that warranty or guarantee valid. Either way, while you can still purchase accessories from them if you already have a Smoke Stik, all in all, it is bizarre that this company is still operating without actually selling their product.
An outdated product
These days, e-cigarettes come with a whole host of affordances that Smoke Stik does not offer: temperature and airflow controls, large replaceable batteries, and the ability to use third-party carts and juices. None of these are offered with Smoke Stik, which is likely why they have ceased selling their product on their website.
A company on its last legs
When you enter Smoke Stik's website, there is a large banner that reads that their "cartomizers'' are in short supply, and that "if you can add something to your cart, feel free to order it”. It seems that Smoke Stik likely is no longer manufacturing any of their products, and are simply keeping their website up to offload remaining inventory for folks who may still own their product.
Used by one celebrity in 2010
One of the most bizarre elements of Smoke Stik's website is their "celebrity” section, which is just paparazzi shots of a 2010 Katherine Heigl using their product. We suppose if you are a Grey's Anatomy superfan this might be a compelling reason to buy Smoke Stik's product, but all in all it seems odd, especially as it is unlikely Katherine Heigl has any idea her likeness is being used to sell e-Cigarettes.
Much better options out there
All in all, Smoke Stik as a product is a relic of a time when e-cigarettes attempted to replicate the look and feel of a cigarette. If you are in the market for an e-cigarette of any sort, you would do much better to investigate the better-rated options on our list (or, you know, one that still sells their product).
Customization is another key aspect that attracts people to e-cigarettes. Many devices allow users to adjust nicotine levels, vapor production, and other settings to match their preferences. Controlling these levels empowers individuals to tailor the e-cigarette to their liking. This can greatly enhance their enjoyment and satisfaction.
The convenience factor also plays a significant role. E-cigarettes do not produce the same amount of smoke or ash as traditional cigarettes, which makes them more practical for use in settings where smoking is prohibited. They also don't require a flame or cause a burning risk. This convenience factor can make e-cigarettes more appealing to those who seek a more discreet and hassle-free option to traditional smoking.
Navigating e-cigarettes online can be a chore, and - let's face it - that gas station that smells like incense with all the disposable vapes is likely overcharging you, and the costs can add up. As such, finding a reputable online dealer can go a long way towards saving you a bit of pocket change and unnecessary trips to the corner store or smoke shop.
Keep in mind, though you likely already know this - e-cigarettes can develop into an addictive habit. While it may have the potential for less harm than traditional cigarette smoking, it is still costly and can be difficult to stop. However, most e-cigarette companies do sell 0% and low-percentage nicotine cartridges, which can be a big help for those looking to quit or reduce their consumption overall.
While there are legitimate health concerns involved with e-cigarettes, there are many that are overblown. In 2019, there was a sudden uptick in "popcorn lung”: acute accumulation of scar tissue in the lungs. This was found to be attributed to black market THC vaporizers that contained Vitamin E acetate, not nicotine concentrates. If you purchase your e-cigarettes and liquids/concentrates from reputable dealers, there is little to no risk of acute respiratory disease such as popcorn lung. In other words, please don't get your e-cigarettes on the street - it's just a bad idea.
Where should you look to buy your e-cigarettes? While recent laws have been put in place to restrict the shipping of e-cigarettes and nicotine concentrates through the mail, this does not mean that you are unable to order vaporizers and associated gear online. All this means is that companies are required to sell through a service that requires an adult with a valid ID to sign at the point of delivery. This has led companies to scramble and find alternate shipment services that can meet legal requirements, with widely varying effects.
