You'll work with a local partner jewelry store

Yes, that leads us to point number three: you'll need to have a Gabriel & Co-affiliated jeweler within a driving distance you're comfortable with, in order to preview those engagement rings that caught your eye. In major metro areas, that shouldn't be an issue; we looked at a few suburbs (one in the South, one in the Midwest, one in the Mountain West), and all of them had several stores to pick from within 40 miles or less. You'll want to choose carefully, because you'll be working with that jeweler to choose the center diamond, make any customization requests, and even get the design process under way. And, obviously, this style of engagement ring shopping doesn't have the same convenience as most of the retailers on our list, where you can simply pick the ring you love and have it delivered right to your home or the secure pickup location of your choice.

The settings are beautiful

Is it worth it jumping through those extra hoops? Maybe. More of a ring brand than a jeweler

All of that being said, there really isn't a lot of buzz for this engagement ring maker. We couldn't find much in the way of reviews - no listing from the Better Business Bureau, no ratings on Trustpilot, not even any comments on the Gabriel & Co site itself - and this is more of a ring brand than a jewelry store. A significant portion of your overall engagement ring experience is going to depend heavily on the partner jeweler you work with, from choosing the center stone to finalizing the design, which makes Gabriel & Co more of a middleman.

Extra steps make this a "just okay” option

We give Gabriel & Co a "just average” rating. While we can't think of a major reason not to go with an engagement ring you fall in love with on their site, the whole process is more cumbersome than you'll experience elsewhere. You'll have to jump through the hoop of choosing a center diamond in person with your jeweler, assuming there's a partner close enough to drive to, and all of this could wind up taking time that you don't want to waste before you pop the question.
