Whether you're looking to change the vibe in your bathroom by overhauling all of the hardware or you just need something to replace your leaky kitchen faucet, the absolute best place to shop is not your local hardware store. Why spend the time and the gas money to browse what's likely to be a limited inventory when you can get the best selection online?
We're not exaggerating when we say that today's most popular stores offer over 20,000 faucet options in today's top brands and in every imaginable style. And, since most of these retailers have excellent return policies, you never have to worry about getting a refund or exchange if your faucet is delivered and it's not exactly what you had in mind.
Tuesday, March 25th
Home Depot is a dependable choice for all your home improvement needs, offering a vast range of products from garden plants to light fixtures and more. And, when it comes to faucets for kitchen and bath, who else but the DIY home improvement superstore is going to have over 23,000 fixtures to choose from? True, there are a few faucet-focused stores that can rival the inventory, but they can't match the convenience of ordering online and picking up - and returning - at a brick-and-mortar location near, well, just about every shopper.
Use filters wisely
Home Depot divides its faucets by your targeted room, so rather than just searching for the generic "faucets”, you might want to start by choosing the category in the Bath or Kitchen page first. From there, with thousands of options available, you'll want to take advantage of the filters on the left side of the page to help you narrow down your search. You can choose from various criteria such as color families, brands (like Kohler, Moen, Delta, Pfister, and more), design styles, and features.
Free delivery on orders more than $45
The results list also indicates which faucets are in stock at your preferred Home Depot location. Home Depot offers free delivery on orders of $45 and above. Or, if your favorite faucet is not available at the Home Depot location you'd choose, you can opt for free shipping to the store as well.
Some high-end faucets on offer
We weren't disappointed when we looked for faucets on both ends of the price spectrum at Home Depot. For example, in the Bath department, we spotted the Rohl Arcana 2-Handle Wall Mount Claw Foot Tub assembly in Italian brass, priced at $4,775. We also liked the ZLINE Crystal Bay Thermostatic Shower System (with four body jets), priced at $2,343.89 and with a surprising 32 customer reviews, averaging a perfect five stars.
Easy on your wallet too
Budget-conscious shoppers aren't left behind at Home Depot, though. While most of the lowest-priced items in both kitchen and bath departments are parts and accessories, we still found lots of basic shower heads and faucets for under $30.
Phenomenal return policy
Home Depot continues to offer a generous return policy, accepting returns within 90 days of purchase either by mail or at their physical stores - and that jumps to an exceptional 365 days if you buy your faucet with a Home Depot credit card (consumer or commercial). However, it's important to note that unlike some faucet stores, Home Depot requires items to be new and unopened to be eligible for a refund. Therefore, you'll want to make sure the faucet is the right fit before installation. In the event of a problem such as a defect or missing gasket, Home Depot has a solid reputation for excellent customer service and is known to promptly address issues through exchanges or refunds.
Still #1 among faucet stores
Home Depot's history as a trusted home improvement retailer, combined with their vast inventory, competitive pricing, and exceptional customer service, make them the ideal choice for all your faucet needs. With their seamless online shopping experience and various delivery options, Home Depot ensures that finding the perfect faucet becomes an effortless and enjoyable task. We gladly give Home Depot our first-place ranking among faucet stores.
Lowe's, one of the prominent big-box home improvement stores, proves to be a formidable competitor against specialty faucet stores. In terms of selection and pricing, Lowe's emerges as a top choice due to its extensive inventory of over 11,000 faucets and parts. The convenience of online ordering and the availability of in-store pickup are a big plus too, especially if you have a nearby brick-and-mortar location. Whether you're looking for a faucet for your bathroom, kitchen, or outdoor space, Lowe's ensures a wide range of options to cater to your specific needs.
Using the filters will save you time
To make the most of Lowe's vast selection, utilizing the helpful filters on the website is recommended. By starting with the desired category and then refining the search based on factors like the number of handles or fixture color family, you can quickly narrow down your options. We particularly like being able to see at a glance whether a particular faucet comes with free delivery ($45 and up, in most cases) or if it's in stock at our preferred Lowe's location. Helpfully, most faucets considered during our evaluation were readily available for either pickup or shipping within a short timeframe of five days.
Some $2,000-and-up faucets available
Whether you're looking for something high-end or wallet-friendly, you'll find it at Lowe's. The most expensive faucets we spotted were typically for the kitchen, like the Rohl Perrin and Rowe Satin Nickel 2-Handle Bridge ($3,205.50) and the Grohe Blue Supersteel Single Handle High-Arc with Built-In Water Filter ($2,880.50). But, if you jump over to the Bathroom section, you'll also see some shower systems from Kohler and Moen at that same price point (they just won't show up in the search results of "faucets”).
Low-cost faucets too
Not everyone is trying to upgrade their faucets quite so extravagantly, but don't worry: Lowe's can take care of you with budget-friendly fixtures too. How about a basic chrome kitchen faucet by NewAge Products for just $17.98? For both kitchen and bath, Lowe's can get you a new fixture for under $100 with lots of choices for finish, style, and even expert installation if you're not sure you can do it yourself after all.
You've got 90 days to make a return
Lowe's offers a generous return policy, providing customers with a 90-day window to return their faucets. However, it's important to note that the faucet must be in new and unused condition to qualify for a refund. Installing the faucet and then deciding against it would make it ineligible for a return. Naturally, if your faucet is found to be defective upon opening the box, this return policy won't apply.
An excellent choice for faucets
Lowe's secures a close second place among faucet stores in our evaluation, just behind our highest-ranked retailer. Lowe's stands out with its terrific selection, competitive pricing, and, of course, all of the convenient pickup and delivery options, allowing you to complete your home improvement projects right on time. When searching for the perfect faucet for your needs, Lowe's is a likely choice.
Wayfair stands out for its extensive selection of faucets, boasting over 7500 options for kitchens, 8700 for showers, 12,000 for bathroom sinks, and a wide range of choices for other purposes like bidets and laundry sinks. Their commitment to offering "a zillion things home" is evident in the variety of options available - not just for faucets but for anything you could possibly dream of needing for your house.
Easy to shop and lots of customer reviews
The online shopping experience on Wayfair is exceptionally user-friendly. Navigating through product categories, such as faucets, is a breeze, with clear thumbnail images and descriptions that provide a comprehensive overview. Additionally, the website features helpful filters to narrow down search results and find faucets that fit your specific preferences. Finally, customer reviews can play an important role in guiding your purchase, as they offer real-life experiences and insights: you'll find faucets with hundreds, if not thousands, of ratings, comments, and even in-home customer photos.
High-end faucets but nothing too crazy
Usually, Wayfair gives us a good laugh when we look at the most over-the-top, highest-priced product in any category we're evaluating. This time, however, Wayfair didn't give us anything super-extravagant - and there were other faucet stores in our review that won the award for "most expensive fixture”. For both bathroom sinks and kitchen faucets, Wayfair's highest-end options were only in the neighborhood of $2,000 to $3,000. Jumping over to the shower system category revealed a few more luxe options, such as the Benevento Thermostatic Shower Faucet by BathSelect: we're talking LED lights, rainfall mist shower, jetted body sprays and a hand shower, all for "just” $7,376.
Extremely wide selection of faucet brands
But, as long as you're not trying to be super extra with your faucets, you'll have no trouble finding lots and lots of options with Wayfair. Available brands literally go from A (Alcott Hill) to Z (Zline or Zupora), with plenty of well-known names like Grohe, Moen, Delta, Pfister, and Kingston Brass too.
Free shipping on orders over $49
Wayfair sweetens the deal with free shipping on orders over $49. Even if your faucet purchase doesn't meet the threshold, adding a few extra items to your order is effortless due to Wayfair's extensive inventory of household products.
No-fuss returns within 30 days
Beyond its ample inventory, what sets Wayfair apart is its hassle-free return policy. Within 30 days of delivery, customers can return their faucets for a refund or store credit without any restocking fees. Unlike many competitors, Wayfair does not explicitly require products to be in "new, unused condition" for eligibility (although there may be restrictions for assembled items or large furniture). Most customers report that Wayfair handles returns promptly and efficiently, often sending replacements before receiving the returned item, especially in cases of defects or damage.
A great choice for faucets and other home goods
While Wayfair isn't what we'd call a faucet expert, its exceptional selection, user-friendly website, and customer-centric return policy make it a top pick. We can easily recommend Wayfair as one of our three preferred faucet stores.
Build with Ferguson wants to help you reflect your personal style in every aspect of your home - including the faucets in your kitchen and bath. It's the parent company behind two other faucet stores in our evaluation as well - Faucet Direct and Faucet - in addition to FloorMall and LightingDirect. The Build site could easily be your one-stop shop for all of your home improvement needs, accessing the inventories of all of the sister brands in one location.
At least 10,000 faucets to consider
You might be wondering why, as the parent brand, Build is slotted underneath its two related faucet stores. Simply put, Build shows its faucet inventory as "10,000+”, while the other two show outright that there are anywhere from 21,000 to 23,000+ options for sale. It's entirely possible that Build carries that many as well, but unless we were to go through the complete inventory with a fine-toothed comb, there's no easy way to know if Build's selection is significantly lower (or if they just thought saying "10,000+” would cover it).
Excellent range of options from wallet-friendly to spendy
Still, that's a really minor detail, and we don't want you to get caught up in it - this is a fantastic place to buy faucets, for several reasons. First, just like the two other faucet stores in the family, Build has an excellent range of products, from super-inexpensive shower heads for under $20 up to on-trend, luxe designs that cost over $10,000. And yes, for the Kohler Simplice we priced out for the other two stores, Build shows the same low price and over 800 customer ratings. For some faucets, you won't find a better price anywhere else (well, except for Faucet and Faucet Direct, of course) - or Build's free shipping on orders over $49.
Get a refund on returns within 90 days
We're big fans of the return policy at Build as well. You've got a generous 90-day period to decide if you need to send your faucet back for a refund - hey, maybe it's a honey-do project that you just haven't had time for... yet... As long as the product is in resalable condition and in its original packaging, you should have no issues with getting a full refund.
Good reputation, but shipping can be a problem
Build has a good track record with the Better Business Bureau, earning an "A+” grade and accreditation, with fewer than 50 complaints filed there over the last 12 months. The one problematic area we noticed is shipping: sometimes orders are accepted but then there's a significant delay on the delivery end. It doesn't seem to be a widespread issue, but it might be wise to keep that in mind if you're working on something time-sensitive in your kitchen or bathroom.
Worth considering when buying faucets
You'll be in good hands if you choose any of the faucet stores in the Build with Ferguson family - and you might as well go right to the source instead of one of the sub-brands, right? While buying from Build doesn't come with the convenience of being able to make in-store returns or pick up online orders in person (like some of its higher-ranked, big-box rivals), it's still a helpful resource if you need a vast inventory of faucets to choose from - at competitive prices and with an excellent return policy too.
Faucet is a store that sells a wide variety of faucets and is one of three retailers in our review that are part of the Build brand family, which includes Build and Faucet Direct along with other non-faucet stores like FloorMall and LightingDirect. While the general reputation is shared across the three faucet stores, there are a few key differences - starting with the fact that Faucet has more to choose from, with over 25,000 products from popular brands like Kohler and Moen, giving customers the widest range of options among the three.
Everything from basic to boujee
Looking for a bargain-priced faucet? You'll definitely find some of those here, with shower handles, basic bathroom faucets, and many other options priced under $50, across a spectrum of brands like Pfister and Pioneer. And, if you're looking for something unique and ultra-high-end, Faucet can absolutely meet your needs. When we sorted all available faucets from highest to lowest price, we found several stylish bathroom faucets by DXV in the neighborhood of $15,000 to $17,000, along with Thermostatic Shower Systems from Rohl that ran from $9,000 to $13,000. Needless to say, whatever design and budget you have in mind, you'll probably have no trouble finding several attractive options on the Faucet site. Just use the "compare” button to keep track of the ones you like.
Prices are really competitive now
We were very pleased to see that Faucet's pricing is much more competitive than at the time of our previous evaluation. In the past, we had to downgrade this faucet store quite a bit, because its rivals were almost always significantly lower priced. This time, when comparing one of Faucet's most popular fixtures - the Kohler Simplice Single-Hole Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet, with over 850 customer ratings - we were surprised that Faucet had a lower price than any other retailer in our rankings. Of course, with Faucet, Build, and Faucet Direct essentially being the same company, the price for this faucet was the same on those two stores as well. There was a sale on all Kohler items, and Faucet helpfully applied that 5% discount automatically. Plus, with free shipping on orders over $49, you'll almost always get your faucet delivered at no cost here. Well done, Faucet!
New-and-improved return policy
If you need to return a faucet, Faucet allows refunds within 90 days of delivery. That's another improvement here, since the previous policy only allowed refunds on returns made within 30 days, and store credit for returns made within 31-60 days. It's still important to ensure that the fixture is in resalable condition with no scratches, in its original packaging, and hasn't been installed, in order to qualify for a refunded return.
Good overall reputation but limited feedback
In terms of reputation, Faucet's parent company, Build, has an "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. The only downside for this particular brand in the family is a lack of overall customer feedback: in most places we looked, there weren't any ratings or reviews specific to Faucet within the last few months. And, with individual product ratings and inventory counts shared among the three sites, it's more likely than not that an order on any of the three sites is ultimately handled by the same warehouse (though we're not sure why the Build site itself has less than half of the faucets listed on its sister sites like Faucet).
Moving up in the rankings among faucet stores
Overall, Faucet has received a half-star bump since our last evaluation. Although we'd like to see some more recent commentary from shoppers who have completed their purchase specifically through the Faucet domain, the overall selection of fixtures and the helpful customer ratings on individual products makes it easy to pick and choose among the available options. And, with Faucet's parent company enjoying a perfect "A+” rating and accreditation from the BBB, there should be no reason to doubt that you'll get good customer service here. We're comfortable recommending Faucet as a solid choice for purchasing your next kitchen or bathroom fixture.
Faucet Direct is one of three stores in our evaluation - Faucet, Build, and Faucet Direct - that are all part of the same brand family, which also includes popular online retailers like LightingDirect and FloorMall. You'll find a lot of similarities among the three faucet stores, so we'll try to point out a few of the differences that might influence your decision about which store to use to buy your next kitchen or bathroom fixture.
Mostly the same inventory as its sister store
The first difference is selection. While Faucet Direct has plenty of faucets to choose from - over 21,000, to be exact - the inventory is slightly less than its higher-ranked sister brand. We're not entirely sure why, since the stores share inventory, but it is what it is. We first noticed that when looking up the most expensive faucets in each store: Faucet Direct doesn't have as many upper-end designs, though you'll still have access to the stylish (and spendy) DXV bathroom faucets we spotted in both places. Budget-friendly faucets are a little more plentiful here too, with numerous shower heads under $20.
Competitive on pricing
Fortunately, everything else is roughly equal, including the lowest-in-class pricing on a particular Kohler kitchen faucet that's quite popular across the three stores, with over 800 customer ratings on that product alone. Faucet Direct (and its co-brands) was offering it for quite a bit less than any other faucet store in our evaluation through an automatically-applied 5% brand discount in effect at the time of this review. Tack on the fact that shipping here is free if your order is over $49, and Faucet Direct sounds like a pretty great option for buying faucets.
90 days for returns
If you need to return a faucet, Faucet Direct offers a 90-day refund policy, giving customers ample time to decide if the faucet is right for them. To qualify for a refund, the faucet must be in resalable condition, with no scratches, in its original packaging, and not have been installed.
Reputation is just fine
When it comes to reputation, Faucet Direct's parent company, Build, has earned an impressive "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. However, one drawback for Faucet Direct is the lack of recent customer feedback. In most places we searched, there just weren't any comments left in the past few months. It's worth noting that product ratings and inventory counts are shared among Faucet Direct and its sister sites, suggesting that orders from any of these sites are likely handled by the same warehouse.
Trustworthy option for buying faucets
While we would appreciate more recent feedback from customers who have made purchases specifically through Faucet Direct, the store offers a wide selection of fixtures with helpful customer ratings. This makes it easy to find the right faucet for your kitchen or bathroom. With Faucet Direct's parent company boasting a perfect "A+" rating and accreditation from the BBB, customers can expect reliable customer service. We confidently recommend Faucet Direct as a good choice when you need a new faucet for your bathroom or kitchen.
Faucet Warehouse is not going to be the slickest faucet store website you've ever visited. You might raise an eyebrow when you first land on the home page, when you see how the dropdowns block out part of the text, the images look pixelated, and things seem just a little bit... off.
Yes, they're still open for business
If we're being completely honest, at first we too were wondering if Faucet Warehouse was still in business. The site copyright dates back to 2021, and there were zero customer testimonials on the website after 2014. Anyone home? But, we got a prompt answer when we called this faucet store's toll-free number during regular business hours, and this business has an "A+” rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau - with over 40 years in operation.
Plenty of recent feedback
The outlook for this faucet store looks even brighter if you jump over to their social media accounts. We found coupon codes on Facebook posted just the day prior to this evaluation, and a couple dozen reviews from much more recently than 2014. Customers describe extremely fast turnaround times on orders and on replies from the support team when help was needed.
Over 3,000 faucets in a good variety of brands
So, now that we got that out of the way and established that yes, this is a faucet store you can trust, let's take a look at what Faucet Warehouse has to offer. You'll have over 3,000 faucets to consider for both kitchen and bath here. Brands include Delta, Moen, Grohe, Kohler, Panasonic, American Standard, Hansgrohe, Elkay, and many more.
Website is easy to shop
We were pleasantly surprised to see how easy it wound up being to sort through the available faucets. Shop by category and then use filters to narrow down the options by type, manufacturer or series, color, flow rate, shape, function or price - whichever factors are most important in your purchasing decision. You can then sort your matching results in several ways, like price (high-low or low-high), best sellers, most viewed, review count, and so on.
Reasonably priced
It's always interesting to see the most and least expensive faucets on offer, to get a sense of the range of available fixtures. What can you expect from Faucet Warehouse? In the Kitchen category, everything on the low end isn't exactly a faucet: just parts and accessories like baffle upgrade kits and undermounts (what to us look like strainers - to keep larger particles from going down into the drain). But it didn't take long before we found the Delta Foundations Series Kitchen Faucet (B2412LF) for $33.89, down from a retail price of $112.95.
A few high end faucets as well
Flipping the sort to see the highest-end kitchen faucets, the initial result is similar: it's not faucets. You'll mostly see sinks until you get to the Axor Citterio Series 2-Spray Semi-Pro, priced at $1,409.04 compared with the retail price of $1,957. So, definitely some budget-friendly kitchen faucets and a few higher-end ones as well, but nothing super-deco or over-the-top expensive.
Options for a big shower upgrade
And bathroom faucets? Again, you'll find mostly parts at first, but then you'll spot a Delta Universal Shower Head for $9.99, several tub spouts from various brands for under $15, and so forth. The luxe options are a little more robust for this area of the home, with quite a few options from Delta, Moen, and Hansgrohe in the $2K+ range.
Lots of options for returns and refunds
The return policy at Faucet Warehouse is generous compared with some rival stores: you have 90 days from the date of the original order to make a return, and you won't have to pay the 15% restocking fee if you get your return completed within the first 30 days. You can even return your faucet after the 90-day mark; you'll just have to pay a 20% restocking fee instead.
Better than average
A decent variety of fixtures for both kitchen and bathroom, positive feedback from customers (though a bit hard to find), a very customer-friendly return policy: all of that lands Faucet Warehouse with an above-average rating of 3.5 stars. Naturally you might get more from a big-box store that lets you do some of your picking-up and returning in person and that has dozens of employees to help you - but why not see if Faucet Warehouse has what you're looking for if you don't find it with one of our higher-ranked faucet stores?
Faucet Depot has been doing business online since 1996, but also boasts 75 years of expertise in the plumbing industry, both commercial and residential. This faucet store's goal is to offer the lowest possible price on faucets and other fixtures, combined with excellent customer service.
Not the most intuitive shopping experience
Finding the faucet you're looking for at this store will require you knowing which type you need - Pullout? Single handle? Double handle? - but at least there are helpful thumbnail images to get you going in the right direction. That makes it hard for us to tell you exactly how many faucets are on offer with Faucet Depot, but our rough tally landed around 3,000 options across kitchen and bathroom fixtures. The brand list is fairly standard: Kohler, Moen, Pfister, American Standard, Elkay, Grohe, Hansgrohe, and Blanco, among others.
Moderate range of faucets across the price spectrum
Again, because each faucet category has to be clicked through separately, there's no simple way to see the lowest and highest prices on faucets in general. But, looking around, we didn't see anything for the kitchen or bath that would run you more than $2,000, and on the low end most faucets came in around $100.
Saving money can be complicated
If you'd like to get free shipping on your faucet order here, you'll need to spend over $199. Also, keep an eye out for promotions as you browse the site: at the time of our most recent visit, Faucet Depot was offering a 5% sale on all pullout kitchen faucets, along with several other promos listed right at the top of the site. The final way to save money here feels a little complicated: some faucet listings say "Better Pricing Available: View Details”. What does that mean? Faucet Depot is willing to sell it to you at a lower price, but manufacturers' requirements don't allow them to display it for less than a certain amount. You'd have to reach out to the faucet store to ask for the savings - which feels a little extra in our book.
30 days to return faucets without restocking fees
The return policy at Faucet Depot is fairly customer-friendly. If you make a return request within 30 days, you won't be charged a restocking fee, while returns made between 31-120 days will be assessed a fee of 20%.
Feedback is limited and generally good...
Customer feedback for this faucet store is a little sparse and somewhat mixed. The Better Business Bureau had listed Faucet Depot as "Not Rated” at the time of this evaluation, saying the company hadn't been in business long enough to rate - but we're not sure why that is, given that they started operating online in the 1990s and have reviews dating back several years. Looking at the Google Customer Reviews (helpfully linked on the Faucet Depot website), they average 4.7 out of 5 stars across nearly 150 ratings, with most shoppers saying that they got what they ordered with no issues.
...but not entirely positive
On the other hand, some of the complaints there were echoed in other places: the online store accepted orders for faucets or other parts that were actually out of stock and never notified the buyer, delivery was slower than expected, and more than one professional plumber said that Faucet Depot didn't want to work with them on an order. We're not quite sure what that last one is about (especially given that there's a spot right up at the top that asks "Are you a pro?”), but all of it was enough to keep this from earning a higher ranking among faucet store rivals.
Just average among faucet stores
At the end of the day, we'd call Faucet Depot a good-but-not-great option for buying fixtures for your bath or kitchen. The return policy is decent and the selection is too, but we're not thrilled with some of the shopper feedback we found. We suggest you keep Faucet Depot in mind as a backup if you don't spot what you need at another faucet store in our review.
Right off the bat, you know what kind of faucets you'll be getting from Modern Bathroom (no, you shouldn't be looking for kitchen fixtures here). This faucet store is based in North Hollywood and has been in business for about two decades, originally starting out only with its own brand and then expanding to include popular brands like Hansgrohe, MTI, Wyndham Collection, and several others.
Not many faucets to choose from
However, despite being what you might call a bathroom expert, this store has an extremely limited inventory of faucets: dropping from a selection of 250+ in our last evaluation (which was already quite small, compared with rival faucet stores) to just 50 during our most recent visit. On the low end of the price spectrum, Modern Bathroom was offering the TOTO Silas, Vivian, and Keane tub/wall spouts for $144; on the opposite end, we found the TOTO Two-Handle Freestanding Tub Filler for $2,542.40.
Not enough brands on offer
And, of all of those brands we mentioned earlier, in the Faucets category, it was hard to find many options outside of TOTO. If you're looking for anything basic, or in a brand name you might already like (such as Moen or Delta), you probably won't see it in the inventory here. Plus, as we browsed the selection at Modern Bathroom, very few faucets had any customer feedback, and some of the product image links were broken. Not the most impressive shopping experience, by any means.
Disappointing and confusing customer service policies
But, let's say you do find the perfect faucet here. One plus is this store's 110% low price guarantee: if you find a lower price on a competing site, you'll get a refund plus 10% of the difference... but the terms say it only applies on their own brand of faucets. That doesn't make much sense, does it? At least Modern Bathroom offers free shipping on all orders within the lower 48 United States, which is comparable to other retailers with similar price ranges. For returns, there is a narrow 10-day window to initiate the process, but expect a restocking fee of 25% and deduction of shipping fees from the refund.
Not worth your time
It's challenging to come up with a reason why you'd want to shop at Modern Bathroom the next time you need a faucet. The selection is low (both in terms of brand range and total inventory), the customer perks aren't very perk-y, and the business continues to be listed as "Not Rated” by the Better Business Bureau. We're not exactly sure who is buying faucets from Modern Bathroom, with so little shopper feedback to be found, but you're probably not going to want to add yourself to the list. Most customers will wind up looking elsewhere for faucets, and we'd point them to the higher-ranking retailers in our evaluation.
AJ Madison is a retailer that specializes in selling appliances, in addition to about 800 models of faucets from several well-known brands like Moen, Elkay, Kraus, Blanco, Avanti, among others. Surprisingly, one of today's most popular brands (Delta) isn't on the list of faucets offered here.
You can get fancy faucets here
In the past, this faucet store had some really high-end options - we're talking $5,000 and up. At the time of our most recent evaluation, though, the spendiest faucet we found was the Rohl Modern Architecture Series (LS64L), priced from $1,734 to $2,327, based on the available finishes of polished chrome, polished nickel, and satin nickel, respectively.
Shipping is almost never free
On some faucets (like the Rohl we just described), AJ Madison gives you free shipping. Unfortunately, they don't tell you outright what the price threshold is to qualify. On their lowest-priced faucets - several styles under $100, for instance - we had to put the items into the cart and then enter our zip code to find out we'd be paying a whopping $30+ for UPS delivery. Our previous research indicated that the free shipping threshold was $600+, so you can almost guarantee you're going to pay for your faucet delivery with AJ Madison.
Price match guarantee... maybe
AJ Madison offers a price match policy, so if you find the faucet you want on their website at a lower price somewhere else, it might be worth reaching out before you place your order on either website. But, the faucet has to be sold by "an authorized retailer” - AJ Madison stops short of spelling out which faucet stores would qualify - and even then they don't promise that they'll actually authorize the price match. So much for a "price match guarantee”.
Returns come with hefty restocking fees
Unfortunately, AJ Madison's return policy is equally unimpressive. If you're not satisfied with your faucet, you need to call within 24 hours of receiving it. This means you might miss the window for returns if you're not available to receive the package. Additionally, all returns are subject to a significant 35% restocking fee, and any refund you receive will have shipping costs deducted for both the return and the original delivery. Defective faucets must be handled directly with the manufacturer, and although AJ Madison suggests that most returns can be avoided by contacting their specialists, it's unclear how this helps customers who receive damaged or defective products.
Reputation isn't flawless
Customer reviews for AJ Madison are mixed, likely due to their primary focus on large appliances. It's not uncommon to find complaints about receiving defective products and facing difficulties getting refunds. Even though the Better Business Bureau rates the company with an "A+" grade, they still have over 100 registered complaints within the past year.
