While your go-to might be your local hardware or maintenance store, you'll get the world's widest selection and pricing if you shop for your next faucet online. Whether you're looking for a bargain to make a quick fix in the shower, or you're upgrading the entire look of your kitchen and need a high-end fixture to match, you'll have no trouble finding exactly what you need with today's online retailers.
One of the biggest reasons to use an online faucet store is the ability to comparison shop with just a few clicks of the mouse. If you've already taken measurements and know exactly what you need, you won't have to waste your time looking through products that aren't a good match. Plus, with many internet stores offering competitive price matching guarantees and free shipping on most orders, you're sure to get the lowest possible cost for your repair or upgrade.

Home Depot is one of America's most reliable retailers when it comes to home improvement. From garden plants to light fixtures and beyond, it's hard to think of a product you could need for repairs, upgrades, or replacements that this store wouldn't have in stock!
Price competition
To make it easier to see how well each of the faucet stores in our reviews measured up, we chose a popular faucet from a well-known brand to see pricing and availability across retailers. Home Depot had competitive pricing when we searched for that apples-to-apples comparison product, Delta's 340-DST Kitchen Faucet. Depending on the finish selected, this faucet ranged in price from $102.64 to $130.06 - putting them towards the more affordable end of the price range when looking at their rivals. It wasn't available at any of the local stores near us, but we were able to get free ship-to-store, ready for pickup from 2-6 days from the time of our order.
Fancy faucet
The store's most expensive faucet was the Kohler Karbon Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Black Tube in Vibrant Stainless. Think about all of those times you struggled to fit that big pasta pot just in the right spot under the water and wished you had a more flexible option - because this model fixes that. With multiple moveable joints, the faucet lets you extend, lower, point the water exactly where you need it and fold it away when you don't need it. Fancy! It'll cost you a little more than $3,550, though.
Fortunately, for both kitchen and bath, Home Depot carries faucets for much less. You can get the Glacier Bay 1-Spray Wall Mount Shower Head for less than $3, for example.
Thousands of faucet options
Because this retailer has thousands of options, the easiest way to narrow them down is by using the filters on the left side of the page. You can choose color families, brands that literally range from A (ALFI) to Z (Zurn), design styles, features, and more. Your results list will show you at a glance which faucets are in stock at your local store, and delivery is free on orders of $45 and up. Plus, if the model you want isn't currently available at your preferred Home Depot location, you can always choose the "free ship to store" option if your order doesn't meet the free shipping threshold.
90 day return policy
Home Depot gladly accepts returns within 90 days of purchase, either by mail or at any one of their brick-and-mortar locations. But, unlike some of the faucet stores we reviewed, Home Depot requires your items to be new and unopened to be eligible for a refund. So, we recommend that you make sure the faucet is the right one before you go to install it. Of course, if you get your item out of the box and discover that there's a problem (defect, missing gasket, etc.), Home Depot has a great reputation for customer service, so we're confident they'll make it right with either an exchange or a refund.
First choice
For any kind of faucet imaginable, Home Depot should be your first choice for finding it at the best price. With easy delivery and in-store pick-up options, and a website that is extremely simple to navigate, this retailer makes it - dare we say? - even fun to shop for something as ordinary as a new faucet! They easily earn our first-place ranking among faucet stores.
Lowe's is one of two big-box home improvement stores we evaluated against specialty faucet stores, and the results are in: while retailers that focus exclusively on faucets have their advantages, the way to get the best selection and pricing is with a larger store like Lowe's. With over 3000 faucets and parts to choose from, you won't be lacking for options when shopping there - and you'll have all of the convenience of ordering online and picking up right away, if there's a brick-and-mortar location near you.
Rain shower head
Lowe's most expensive faucet is the Hansgrohe Axor Starck Steel Optic 3-Spray Rain Shower Head. Priced at just over $6,800, this model gives you three spray zones (requiring 3 spray lines) in an overhead mount design. Want your shower to feel like you've taken a trip to the spa? This could be the first step.
Low prices
On our comparison faucet, the 340-DST by Delta (single-handle kitchen model), Lowe's did very well with respect to price: from $94.86 to $130.06, depending on the selected finish. It wasn't available for pickup at our local store, but it was eligible for both free ship-to-store or delivery within 5 days of placing our order.
And, in the bargains department, Lowe's does well too. For just $2.50, you can get a chrome-finish AquaSource showerhead with 6 spray patterns and self-cleaning nozzles. (Though we don't think you should expect a luxury shower experience with such an inexpensive model, product descriptions aside.)
Filter your options
Because Lowe's has more than 3,000 product results when you search for faucets, you'll definitely want to take advantage of the filters on the left side of the page. We recommend starting by category (bathroom, kitchen, outdoors) and then using the other options to refine by number of handles, fixture color family, or any other criteria that you already have in mind. While we prefer the results list format of our first-place faucet store (mostly because it lets customers see at a glance which items are available locally, for ship-to-store, or eligible for free shipping), Lowe's still provides an easy-to-navigate website when shopping for faucets and their associated components. And, you'll find that information quickly when you click on individual faucets; most of the ones we considered were available for pickup or shipping within 5 days of our purchase.
Generous return policy
Lowe's return policy is relatively generous: you have 90 days to return your faucet, as long as it's in new/unused condition. In other words, you can't install it, decide you don't like it, and expect that you'll get your money back. Naturally, this return policy doesn't apply if you open the box and discover that the faucet is defective.
When it comes to faucet stores, Lowe's comes in a very close second to our highest-ranked retailer. Their selection is fantastic, pricing is some of the lowest around, and numerous pickup and delivery possibilities help you get your project finished in no time. Lowe's is a great option when shopping for the right faucet for the job.
With more than 4000 kitchen faucets, over 3000 shower faucets, and thousands of faucets for other purposes, Wayfair certainly isn't lacking in selection. They're not kidding when they say they have "a zillion things home", and you won't be disappointed by the range of options sold here.
Great shopping experience
Wayfair has one of the easiest online shopping experiences anywhere. Product categories (like faucets) show many of your options at a glance: Kitchen? Bathroom? Shower? Looking for best-sellers? Thumbnail images and descriptions keep it crystal-clear what you're getting, and many Wayfair items have numerous customer reviews to keep it real and help you find faucets that have actually worked well when installed. Once you've selected a category for your faucet, filters can quickly deliver a results list that matches what you have in mind.
Pricing varies
Although Wayfair often has the lowest prices, they definitely didn't when we looked for our comparison product, the Delta Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet. Depending on the finish, their prices ranged from $167.99 to $252.98 - almost twice as expensive as some of their rivals' pricing!
They also didn't have any of the super-bargain shower heads we found at the big-box home improvement stores' online shops. The cheapest faucet we spotted on Wayfair was the Kohler Coralais Rite-Temp with Lever Handle - which apparently includes a set of 12 as a "Project Pack". We guess that's a good deal if you have, say, 12 showers to fix at the same time. But that doesn't include most customers we know.
Elegant faucets
On the "sky's the limit" end of the spectrum, Wayfair has the Platinum Thermostatic Complete Shower System for just under $5,800. This set includes a ceiling mount bathroom rain shower, with flow options like Atomizing, Waterfall, and Pressure Spray. In the same neighborhood price-wise were the Kallista bathroom faucet system (just under $6,000, which was the same cost as one of their rivals), and the Lura faucet and drain assembly by Speakman (just under $5,900). Honestly, one of the most entertaining aspects of shopping Wayfair is finding products that seem to be priced astronomically, and that last one definitely fits the bill - we were left wondering if it was gold-plated (it's not; just brass), because faucets in other finishes by the same brand were only $420 and less.
Free shipping
If your order is over $49, you'll get free shipping. You should be able to do that just with your faucet purchase, but if not you'll definitely have no problem finding a few extra things to add to your order.
No-hassle return policy
Wayfair passes the competition with their no-hassle return policy. You can return your faucet for a refund or for store credit within 30 days of delivery - with no restocking fees. Unlike most of their rivals, Wayfair doesn't say that your product has to be in "new, unused condition" to be eligible for a return (though it does specify that "items you have already assembled" don't qualify, we think that applies to large items like furniture). Most customers say that Wayfair handles returns quickly, often sending a replacement without even needing to get the return first (especially in the case of defective or damaged orders).
Although Wayfair seems to be consistently priced higher on the faucets they carry, their wide selection, easy-to-use website and customer-friendly return policy have earned this store another strong recommendation. Wayfair is a terrific resource when shopping for faucets.
Faucet is part of the Build network of stores, which includes FloorMall, LightingDirect, and more. This retailer carries far more product options than most online sellers of faucets (as you might expect from a company literally named after the item!). With well-known brands like Kohler and Moen to lesser-known designer manufacturers, Faucet gives you more than 23,000 products to choose from.
Luxury faucets
On the luxury end of the spectrum, you'll find the Brizo Rook Custom Thermostatic Shower System for $5,000 to over $7,000 (based on the finish you choose). If you've dreamed of turning your shower into a spa-like experience, this is the package for you: rain shower and H20kinetic shower heads, multiple shower arms, and side sprayers are just a few components that will deliver an unparalleled bathing experience. But, we noticed that the item was marked as "leaves the warehouse in 2-3 weeks", so you probably shouldn't be in a big hurry if this is a must-have for you.
Budget faucets
On the other hand, for a shower faucet on a budget, you won't have to spend more than $10. This store carries the Symmons Origins Single-Function shower dial for just $9.17. However, free shipping is only available for orders over $49 so it might be worth it to upgrade your faucet slightly or to add a few additional products to your cart. This faucet was available for immediate delivery in our area, arriving on the next business day - so it may be that it's the more specialty/high-end faucets that could take several weeks to be shipped from Faucet's warehouse.
Pricing on the high side
Faucet's pricing tends to be higher than their competitors. When we looked for our comparison product, the Delta Kitchen Faucet (340-DST), it was available for anywhere from $139.44 to $188.16. You could definitely get it for much less elsewhere. But, you may have opportunities to save some money. We got a pop-up when browsing the Faucet site: in exchange for our email address, we could get a 5% discount on our next order.
Reasonable return policy
If you get your faucet and decide it's not the right one for the job, you can return it for a refund within 30 days of delivery. If you send it back between 31 and 60 days from when it was received, you can still get a store credit for the purchase price. All returns have to be in resalable condition with no scratches, in the original packaging, and it can't have been installed prior to the return. Faucet doesn't charge restocking fees.
Good reputation, but mixed reviews
How does Faucet do when it comes to reputation? Their parent company, Build, enjoys an "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau, with nearly two decades in operation. However, the handful of customer reviews we found weren't encouraging. People described their frustrations with returning faucets that were defective right out of the box (with several commenting that it looked like their products had been returned previously and resold), refunds that were only two-thirds of the price they paid, and difficulty getting satisfactory responses from Faucet's customer service team.
For all of these reasons, Faucet winds up with a "just average" rating. While we think their selection is hard to beat, a price match guarantee would make their pricing more competitive - because they tend to be more expensive than other retailers. Plus, we'd like to see an increase in positive customer reviews if Faucet wants to move up in our rankings.
Modern Bathroom started as a single brand, but as their business expanded, so did their inventory. Offering toll-free customer service help 7 days a week, you can always get help from a live person if you need expert guidance for your bathroom repair or remodel project.
Low price guarantee
Our comparison faucet was specific to kitchens, so we couldn't use it to see how Modern Bathroom measured up in terms of pricing. But, their 110% Low Price Guarantee ensures that if you find your faucet for a lower price elsewhere within 30 days of your purchase, you'll get a full refund plus an extra 10%.
Only 250 faucets to choose from
Modern Bathroom has an inventory of just 250 faucets for your "water closet", including some high-end designs. The most spendy in their catalog is the TOTO Neorest II Lavatory Faucet, priced at $5015.70. The design is deceptively simple; you'd never guess that it includes an AC-powered electronic faucet with a temperature-indicating LED light on the handle! Just be aware that if this is your gotta-have-it item, it'll probably take 2-4 weeks to ship.
Designer brands
You won't find any "bargain basement" faucets when shopping at this retailer's online store. The lowest-priced item was the Grohe Eurosmart Bathtub Spout with Diverter for $34.99. The brands in Modern Bathroom's inventory tend to be more designer: TOTO, Grohe, Danze and fluid were the ones we saw most often.
Free shipping
Shipping is free on all orders within the lower 48 United States. That's comparable to other retailers that offer free shipping on orders of a certain order amount - given that everything Modern Bathroom carries is already in that price range.
Return policy disappointing
How about returns? You've got 30 days to initiate returns on faucets that are in new or "like new" condition, and you'll need to contact the retailer to get an RMA first. However, you should expect a restocking fee from 20% to 25%, and your shipping fees will be deducted from your refund as well. Those terms don't really seem like a "30-day Money Back Guarantee", but we suppose it's better than nothing.
Outdated customer reviews
Modern Bathroom's reputation is hard to compare with better-known faucet stores. They don't have a rating from the Better Business Bureau, and the few customer comments we could find were mixed. Reviews regarding their North Hollywood retail location were typically positive, while comments about online purchases were mostly negative - but also very outdated.
Niche focus
Of course, the one big drawback of shopping for faucets at Modern Bathroom is that you're out of luck if you need a fixture for your kitchen or other place in your home. But if you're shopping at a store that literally has "Bathroom" in the name, you shouldn't be surprised by their specialized inventory, right?
This faucet store has some higher-end options, and we appreciate the price matching policy that might make those designer fixtures more affordable than what you'll find at rival retailers. But, compared with our highest-ranked options, Modern Bathroom has a much more limited selection - even when just taking bathrooms into account.
AJ Madison primarily sells major name-brand appliances, but their selection of faucets includes over 800 choices for kitchen, bathroom and more.
Delta faucets missing
AJ Madison doesn't carry any faucets by Delta, so we couldn't make an apples-to-apples comparison on pricing with that specific kitchen model. Brands this retailer offers include Moen, Elkay, All Clad, Brizo, Zip, Hansgrohe and Rohl, along with several others.
The most expensive faucet sold by AJ Madison is the Zip Celsius AIO filtered drinking water system. It ranges in price from approximately $5100 to $5400, depending on whether you choose a basic chrome finish or one of the upgrade options (e.g. Matte Black, Rose Gold, or Brushed Nickel).
Price match guarantee
You won't find as many "bargain" options with this retailer as you might get with rival stores in our review. The lowest-priced faucet from AJ Madison is the Elkay Double Lever Cast Spout Bar/Prep model for $57. That's given as a sale price, but it seemed that those "sale prices" tend to be this store's everyday pricing. Plus, they offer a Price Match Guarantee, so if you find the faucet you want for a lower price somewhere else, you can get in contact with AJ Madison to see if it's from a competitor they're willing to beat.
Free shipping - if you spend over $599
But, they're probably not going to do much for you with respect to shipping. Sure, they offer free delivery on orders of $599+ (because they primarily sell appliances), but you're going to spend almost $30 on shipping for that $57 faucet we mentioned. That's extremely expensive!
Poor return policy
We weren't impressed by this store's return policy. You have to call within 24 hours of receipt if your faucet doesn't live up to your expectations - so you're out of luck if you're not around to receive your package and miss that 1-day window. Every return is subject to a hefty 30% restocking fee, plus any refund will also have shipping costs (to and from your address) deducted. On top of that, defective faucets have to be addressed with the manufacturer - AJ Madison says that "most returns can be avoided [by calling their] knowledgeable specialists for more information", but we're not sure how that helps customers who receive damaged or defective goods.
Defective shipments
As you might expect, reviews for this store are all over the place. Keeping in mind that their primary products are large appliances, it's not hard to imagine why a customer would be angry at receiving defective products and not being able to get a refund with minimal hassle. We found several customer complaints dated within just a few days of our most recent review of AJ Madison, saying that what they got was actually marked as "defective" on the box - but sold to them anyway! Even at the BBB, where the company gets an "A+" rating, there were still dozens of registered complaints over the last 12 months.
For most people looking for faucets, AJ Madison isn't going to be the go-to online store. Fewer brands, higher prices, and steep fees for both shipping and restocking make this retailer a less-than-ideal choice when looking to buy your next fixture for your bathroom or kitchen.
The obvious advantage of shopping for faucets online is the convenience. There's no need to drive from one store to another, hoping for the right items in their inventory, when you can browse from home. And, you're not limited to your precious time off on weekends: whether you've got a few minutes during your train commute, you're stuck at home sick, or you just don't feel like going out, your home improvement project doesn't have to be put on hold.
So, how can you tell which faucet store should earn your business? That depends on what you're looking for, but here are a few factors to keep in mind as you narrow down the choices:
