Adidas is a brand with a long history. In 2024, the company celebrated its 75th anniversary. The company got its start in a small town in Bavaria, Germany with Adi Dassler and his brother (get it? Adi Das?). Adidas was created to support athletes with top equipment for their sports. Athletes wearing Adidas gear were winning gold medals as early as 1928. Adidas is known as the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and it is one of the top two manufacturers worldwide. Currently, Adidas is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, and it sells a range of sporting gear for all sports but with special attention to soccer, basketball, swim, tennis, and golf.
Great site with a shopping memory
The Adidas landing page is easy to navigate, and if you've ever shopped at Adidas before, the site will show you items you were previously browsing. So, if you ever lose your place, don't worry, Adidas is there to help. The site is organized in scrolling windows that go up and down as well as left to right. Highlighted edits like "Back to School” gear or "New Arrivals” appear on the main page. If you want to find something specific, you can easily use the top navigation bar to search through men's, women's, and children's fitness clothing. When you get to browsing, you can find tons of helpful filters like price, size, color, length, rise, style, and more. You can mouse over individual listings to see front and back views of the items as well as photos of different colors. Adidas also allows you to "heart” items you love, and if you have an account on Adidas, you can come back and browse those favorites later.
Over 3,000 items across men's and women's clothes
The selection of fitness clothing at Adidas is impressive. In the men's section, you can expect to find 1,927 items in the general "clothing” shopping tab. For women's, you'll find 1,595 items. These range from track pants, terry-cloth pants, and leggings, to t-shirts, shorts, dresses, and plus-size items. To break it down for you, we found 157 items in women's leggings and tights (including tight shorts), 227 items in men's hoodies and sweatshirts, and 68 different sports bras available at Adidas. These options frequently change with the seasons, so you'll want to
Prices from $8 to $600
The prices at Adidas are generally affordable, but depending on what you buy, you might be putting down some serious cash. Across all women's clothing on Adidas, the prices ranged from $9 for a pair of Pacer 3-Stripe Knit Shorts to $600 for a Y-3 Team Jacket. On the men's side, you'll find prices from $8 for an Essentials Big Logo Tee to $450 for a Y-3 Graphic Knit Cardigan. Here are some other popular items and their price ranges to help you browse:
Return within 30 days
Adidas offers an average return policy. You can return your fitness clothes within 30 days of receiving your order. You can also return something to one of their local brick-and-mortar locations. Adidas requires that everything is in "good” condition and you should keep all tags on the clothing and return them in the original packaging. You can get a full refund to your original payment method or a store gift card (your choice). The only situations where you can't make returns are for Yeezy shoes or items bought on the Confirmed app in-store.
Customers aren't receiving purchased items
Unfortunately, despite being one of the top two fitness clothing manufacturers in the world, Adidas doesn't have a great reputation. According to the Better Business Bureau, Adidas holds an "F” rating due to a high volume of complaints. In the last three years, Adidas has garnered 1,533 complaints and holds a 1-star average from the BBB. The news isn't much better on third-party review sites like Sitejabber and Trustpilot. Sitejabber shows a 1.6-star average for Adidas while Trustpilot shows a 1.5-star average rating. Customers are complaining about missing items and extra charges, and many shoppers who ordered things online never actually received their items. Other customers complained that when their items arrived, they were in extremely poor or used condition.
Too much hassle to order online
While you might be able to find some deals from Adidas, it isn't a great idea to shop with them online. Due to the high volume of terrible reviews, it's clear that online shopping with Adidas isn't the best move. You may still enjoy buying directly from one of Adidas' brick-and-mortar locations, but won't find as many options in person as you might online. Regrettably, this puts Adidas much further down the ratings than expected for a top fitness clothing manufacturer.
Whether you're a gym rat who loves pumping iron, a dancer who needs clothing that moves with his body, a runner looking for full support, or a Pilates momma hoping for that perfect legging contour, finding the right fitness clothing can be a difficult task. There are so many brands, so many sports, and so many sizes that finding the perfect fit can take some serious trial and error.
There are tons of reasons you might need new gear. Maybe you've caked up those glutes and need a better fit. Maybe your old running shoes are running right out of tread. Or maybe you've just watched too many fitness gear hauls on TikTok (guilty as charged!). Whatever your reason, there are plenty of places to get new fitness clothing.
Lucky for you, shopping for fitness clothing online is a breeze. With the recent craze for athleisure, almost every brand is making fitness-style clothing in a dazzling array of colors, cuts, and styles. Whether you like sparkly leggings for your lifting day, a sporty fit with black and silver for your next run, or something breathable for your yoga class, there are tons of fitness clothing brands out there waiting to be discovered.
You can find specialized heat-tech insulated items for cold winter workouts and barely-there seamless styles that don't chafe when you hit the Stairmaster. Whether you're a Gym Shark fan or a Lululemon girlie, there's something out there to suit your fancy.
Fitness clothing is usually separated into men's and women's, and there are different options based on your chosen workout or sport. But don't worry, if you see something you like in the "Tennis” section, but you're only heading to your in-home gym, don't sweat it. While styles can be specialized for function, anybody can enjoy fitness gear. Dancers wear basketball shorts to class, and weightlifters can wear full tracksuits. Nothing's stopping you but your own sense of style. And what better way to get pumped for your workout than a great new "fit”?
Now, as you start browsing different retailers, you might find they have a brand "feel” or design. Many fitness clothing sites sell their own brands or partnered brands only. So, if you're looking for a wide selection, you might need to shop around. However, there are a few retailers out there that offer multiple brands in one place. So, whether you're a brand loyalist who has to have her new Align Leggings or a fitness newbie who's just looking for some starter gear, make sure you find the best brand or store for your journey.
