Reebok Review 3.5 Star Rating

Reebok

3.5 Star Rating
  • "A+" rating from the BBB
  • In business over 50 years
  • Affordable options

Reebok has its early history dating back to 1958 in England. In 1979 - the "official" start of the company - an American businessman took notice and got the license to distribute in the US. They primarily offered sports shoes at the time but eventually began selling fitness clothing as well. Adidas bought them in 2005, though both brands continued to sell under their own names. Now they are owned by Authentic Brands Group.

Lots of ways to save

When we first visited Reebok's site we were asked to sign up for their "Reebok Unlocked." By providing an email address we could get 15% off our next order, a $10 birthday gift, free shipping and returns, and early access to products. For a free membership, that's not bad. Do be on the lookout for potential codes you can use to save a little extra cash. When we were shopping we noticed some items had a note to put a code in for up to 50% off.

Not as big of a selection

Reebok doesn't have the selection that a lot of the other big name brands do. They have about 350 items for men and around 700 for women. They do offer a few choices for kids though, which a lot of other stores don't. You could potentially outfit your whole family by shopping here. There are a few filters that you can use if you know exactly what you're searching for. Gender, size, sport, product type, color, collection, sale/discount percentage, new arrival, and price are the options you'll have. Color selection leaves a little to be desired - especially when compared to other competitors - with a lot of basic alternatives with a few colors thrown in. The women get a few more colors to select from, but not a lot.

Compare across retailers: black leggings

In comparing black leggings across all of the retailers in our evaluation, we picked Reebok's Lux Leggings to review. They are a pair of basic black workout leggings, which come in petite sizes in addition to standard, and cost $60. This puts Reebok in the more affordable range of fitness clothing, as most of their competitors are pushing $100 for a similar pair. Sizes go from 2XS to XL and they provide a sizing chart to help you get the right fit.

Leggings with a pocket

These leggings come with a pocket that can fit your phone - which is always a nice feature. They are a soft fabric and wick away moisture to keep you feeling dry. The site provides plenty of care instructions as well as other good-to-know information. We loved that nearly 200 people have reviewed this pair of pants to give you a good idea of how they perform in real life. Reebok provides three different payment options if paying up front isn't what you'd like to do.

Slower shipping unless you pay extra but free returns for members

Expect 1-3 days of processing before your order is headed to your door. From there you can enjoy free standard shipping - 4-8 days - if your order exceeds $75 or you are an "unlocked" member. Otherwise it will cost $8. 2-4 day delivery will be $15 and if you're looking to have it get to you in 1-2 days, that will be $20. Returns are on the house for "unlocked" members, which is another great reason to go ahead and sign up.

A great, affordable option

While Reebok doesn't have the selection of clothing or colors that we've enjoyed seeing in some of their competitors, they really shine through on being on the more affordable end. If cost is a little more of an issue but you still want to look good and feel confident in your fitness clothing, go ahead and give them a look.

Where Can You Buy the Best Fitness Clothing?

No matter what your fitness jam is, there is likely clothing designed to help you perform at your optimum level. Activewear has come a long way from its beginnings. Do you love to run? Look for an outfit that keeps you cool and dry and doesn't slow you down. Is yoga more your cup of tea?

You'll want to find comfortable and extremely stretchy attire that stays in place but is thick enough no one will see things they shouldn't be seeing when you bend over. Aerobics your preference? Make sure you've got a combination of stretch and great sweat-wicking abilities. Above all else, you want to feel confident that you look good while you work out - otherwise you're not likely to actually make the move to get, or stay, healthy.

Fitness Clothing Store FAQ

You won't find a better selection anywhere else! Buying your fitness clothing online gives you access to the widest range of styles, colors and sizes - without having to spend so much time going through rack after rack hoping to find what you're looking for.
Most online retailers of fitness clothing have helpful sizing guides and charts on each product page. Some even have tools that let you enter a brand and size that you already know are a good fit, and then it gives you a recommended size for the shoes, tops or bottoms you're considering.
That's probably the best reason to shop online: you're much more likely to find items in every imaginable size, shape and color. Whether you wear an extra-wide shoe, need petite sizes for leggings, or want that perfect yoga top in a 3X, you'll probably have no trouble getting it online - and with many more options than you'd find at a local store.
Most of the time, yes. Most fitness clothing stores allow you to return your purchase within 30 days for a refund or store credit. Usually, the clothes have to be in new, unworn condition with the tags still attached - but some stores even allow returns if you've worn it!
That's usually a matter of personal preference. Bigger brands tend to have more to choose from, stronger return policies, and often the ability to make in-store returns and exchanges for clothes bought online. However, you also run the risk of having the exact same workout gear as half of the people in your gym or fitness class! Buying from boutique-type stores lets you have a more unique look.
Many retailers will give you free shipping on your purchase, though you may need to meet a certain minimum order amount to qualify. Beyond that, you might find a complimentary rewards program that gives you points on every order and free shipping just for being a member, personalized clothing recommendations, or even a curated subscription box designed specifically for you.
You can almost always find accessories like water bottles, yoga mats and even nutritional supplements. That's another great reason for shopping online: get everything you need for your workouts in one place!
None beyond what you already know: you can't get your items the day you buy them, so if you're in a hurry because you've got a big race coming up tomorrow, you'll be out of luck. And, while most stores have generous return/exchange policies, it still takes time to send items back and wait for new ones to arrive. Other than that, there's really no reason not to shop online for your fitness wear!

Continued from above...

Fitness clothing is about as diverse you can get these days. There are so many choices that it can be extremely overwhelming. There are the tried and true brands that have been around for decades and that seem to get better and better. However, don't underestimate newer boutique brands either.

A lot of these companies were started because the founders saw a need that wasn't being filled - so they designed clothing to fill it. If you're worried about seeing your outfit twin show up at the gym, you're less likely to have that happen if you buy from a smaller company that changes their inventory up frequently.

Online shopping has really been on the rise. The convenience of shopping from home is a huge benefit. Not only that, but a lot of companies offer even more on their online store than they do in their brick-and-mortar locations. Love a particular shirt in the store but not the colors you see? Check online and they just might have the hue you're looking for.

So how do you choose the online fitness clothing retailer that will give you what you're looking for? Here are a few things to keep in mind as you shop:

  • Selection. Does this store have a good variety of fitness clothing to choose from? What about not only selection of different items, but of sizes? Colors? We don't know about you, but a color that looks amazing on you may make your best friend feel rather frumpy.
  • Return policy. How good is the retailer about returns? Most places - but not all - are consistent with their clothing return needing to be new and with all tags/labels attached, but do you only have two weeks to return something? 30 days? More?
  • Reputation. What do current customers say about their experience? Have they been happy with their purchase? Do the clothes fit as expected or have they had to take the time to exchange? How do the products hold up over time? How has the customer service experience been?
