Bouqs is a modern flower delivery service that brings a fresh approach to gifting blooms. Founded in 2012, the company was built on a mission to transform the floral industry by emphasizing sustainability and transparency. Unlike most traditional online florists who use a network of local shops to hand-deliver your order, Bouqs ships almost all of its flowers directly from eco-friendly farms in Ecuador, Colombia, and beyond. This farm-to-door approach cuts out unnecessary middlemen, so you're ordering fresh, seasonal flowers straight from the source. In this way, Bouqs makes it easy to send thoughtful, high-quality bouquets while supporting sustainable practices.

Affordable arrangements in multiple sizes

We looked to see what each flower shop on our list had to offer for two classic orders: a bouquet of a dozen red roses and a basic sympathy arrangement. There are lots of roses available through Bouqs, so the easiest way to find what we were looking for was to choose "roses” and then set the color in the filters. A 12-stem bouquet of red roses from Bouqs is priced at $59. But, like most arrangements here, there were also options to pay $79 to get two dozen blooms or $99 for three dozen. (Pro tip: when you order the larger arrangements here, it's usually enough to make two pretty bouquets. One for upstairs and one for downstairs? One for your grandma and one she can give to a friend?) As for sympathy flowers, the most basic option through Bouqs was the Spotlight bouquet for $49, consisting of 12 white Asiatic lilies.

Vase is the default but it's optional

Bouqs also lets you add on a vase (and be aware that one is automatically included unless you click "remove”); otherwise, the flowers just come wrapped in a bouquet and the recipient can arrange them as they like.

Discounts are offered frequently

Even though these blooms are already pretty affordable, it's pretty rare that you'd ever have to pay full price to send flowers through Bouqs. When we visited the site recently, there was a 25% discount offered if we signed up for their text list. On top of that, we get discount emails several times a week - sometimes for 15-30% off, other times for a $20 savings on an order of at least $80, you get the idea.

Save big with a flower subscription

Another way to save a lot of money when ordering flowers through Bouqs is to start a subscription. You'll automatically get a 30% discount and free shipping on every order, even if you have no intention of continuing past the first order. You can pause or cancel your subscription anytime - but it's also a nice way to keep the fresh flowers coming without having to remember to reorder. (We used this membership to surprise our mom during the dark months of winter, and it was also a bright spot for us to pick out different bouquets.) It's worth a thought.

Same-day flower deliveries too

So, given that Bouqs' focus is shipping farm-fresh flowers from overseas growers, you might be wondering if it's even possible to order same-day arrangements here. It is. However, the areas are limited: you'll need to go to the Same Day tab and enter your recipient's zip code to see if it's an option there and, if so, which bouquets are available. We entered a zip code in a Wisconsin town about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago and found about 30 choices (even a couple of funeral wreaths), and roughly the same for a zip code just outside of a major metro area in Florida. These bouquets are arranged and delivered by a local florist, not shipped like the typical Bouqs.

Shipping is spendy on one-off orders

Not sending flowers same-day? No problem. You'll enter your recipient's zip code and pick a desired delivery date from the calendar that pops up. Most Bouqs can be scheduled for arrival Monday through Friday, or you can pay an extra $12 for Saturday delivery. Also, shipping isn't displayed until the final "place order” page, and it was a hefty $25 on an $84 arrangement. See why it might be smart to send your flowers as a subscription and then just cancel after the first one?

Seasonal specials and timeless arrangements

And, whether you're ordering flowers for same-day delivery or scheduling blooms to be sent in a few days or weeks, there's always something new to see at Bouqs. Over the course of a year, you might find winter holiday arrangements that spotlight holly berries, daisies in the springtime, and spooky black-and-purple bouquets at Halloween. But, don't worry - Bouqs keeps up its selection of classic arrangements too. We will point out, though, that there aren't any "extras” you can tack onto your order here: yes, you can write a gift message and specify an occasion, but these flowers won't ever have chocolates or a teddy bear as a travel companion.

Over 46,000 five-star reviews

How about reputation? The Better Business Bureau gives Bouqs an "A” rating, despite pointing out a government action in California where Bouqs settled in a case accusing them of not making it obvious enough when subscriptions would renew automatically. That's not a huge problem in our book (especially since we had no problem understanding the terms when we signed up). Besides, when you look at what customers have to say about Bouqs as a flower delivery service, everything's coming up roses (we couldn't resist). Over 400 people left reviews on the BBB that averaged an impressive 4.68 stars out of 5, and there were only 8 complaints filed in the last year. Beyond that, more than 46,000 customers left 5-star reviews on Trustpilot. One person there sang Bouqs' praises this way, saying "It's my go-to whenever I need a gift [because] the shopping experience is so easy [and] blooms arrive in great condition. I've ordered both bouquets and plants, and both ship well. 10/10 as always.”

Expect it to be a little different

That's not to say that Bouqs hasn't gotten any complaints, but for the most part they seem to be related to the learning curve that comes with getting flowers delivered in a box instead of recently-arranged by a local florist: your bouquet will possibly look a little wilted initially, and there may be buds that are still closed. That's by design: Bouqs intends for you to arrange your flowers in a vase, give them some fresh water, and then enjoy them for up to two weeks. We can speak from personal experience: Bouqs' arrangements lasted much longer than a fully-in-bloom bouquet from a flower shop, and the variety of the plants usually meant that our green thumb recipient was able to make multiple smaller arrangements as some wilted and others kept going. (By what we remember, she still had some vase-worthy stems for up to a month after delivery.)

Absolutely worth using for flower delivery

In our own experience with Bouqs, it earns a spot as one of our favorite flower delivery options. There's always a beautiful selection of seasonal bouquets and traditional arrangements to choose from, the flowers arrive in perfect condition and right on time, and setting up a subscription is a terrific way to put your gift-giving on autopilot (or to keep yourself smiling from month to month). And, apparently, over 46,000 other people agree with us. Because the flowers-in-a-box setup is a little different from what some people expect when having bouquets delivered, we're holding off from putting Bouqs up at the very top of our list, but this company still comes in with a near-perfect rating.
