In operation for over 30 years, The Flower Factory considers itself the go-to florist in Tarzana, California. Although The Flower Factory has its own fleet of delivery vehicles for service throughout the greater Los Angeles metro area, they also use the FTD network to get bouquets and arrangements to recipients throughout the US (and the world, if needed).
Competitive prices and inexpensive delivery fee
To make it easier to see how the flower delivery companies on our list measured up with one another, we looked for two specific options: a bouquet of a dozen red roses and a basic sympathy arrangement. At The Flower Factory, it would cost you $75 to send a dozen long-stemmed red roses; there were no options for the more "entry-level” (shorter stem) variety. There were also options for 18, 24, and 36 blooms. The lowest-priced sympathy arrangement at The Flower Factory was the Emerald Forest Bouquet, priced at $52. We were pleased to see that we could send that same-day or on a future date, as needed. It was also a nice surprise to see that even on same-day deliveries, our fee at The Flower Factory was just $16.99.
Feel free to add on - or not
Once you've selected the flowers you'd like to have delivered, you can also decide to add on a teddy bear, card, chocolates, or balloons (individually or in a whole bouquet). You'll be offered that again in the checkout screen, along with being able to add in any special delivery instructions and a gift message, but all of that is optional.
$10 discount
When you first visit The Flower Factory's website, you might get a pop-up offer to save $10 if you give them your email. That's not a bad deal, but pay attention to any fine print: at the time of our evaluation, that discount required a minimum purchase of $40. That won't be hard to do, though.
Great reputation
The Flower Factory has an "A+” grade from the Better Business Bureau, and no complaints were filed there in the last three years. Most flower delivery services can't make that claim. And, everywhere else, customers have nothing but love for this company: a 4.7-star average on Shopper Approved over more than 3100 ratings, a 4.6-star average on Trustpilot (1300+ reviews), even 4.2 out of 5 on Yelp. The Flower Factory gets tons of compliments for having beautiful blooms and on-time delivery.
A bit of a downgrade for user experience
However, we've moved The Flower Factory into our #3 spot since our last evaluation. Why? Simply put, a couple of its rivals are doing the flower delivery "thing” better, especially when we consider the online user experience. We found some typos scattered throughout the website (even misspelling the name of the next upcoming holiday right in the links at the top of the page), and when we first went to look at the "Terms of Service” page (because we're nerdy and thorough, which is why you come here for shopping advice), it was clearly a generic cut-and-paste that didn't even put in the name of the company. Maybe we had gotten there through an outdated link (because we couldn't get that error to replicate itself later), but it was still off-putting to see. And, where competitors are going out of their way to offer beautifully-worded descriptions of their bouquets and arrangements, sometimes The Flower Factory remains a little too "mum” (we couldn't help it) for our liking.
Still a strong contender among flower delivery services
All somewhat minor concerns aside, The Flower Factory is still a great option to consider for flower delivery. The selection is solid, the customer service is on point according to the florist's loyal customers, and local clients in particular have plenty of praise for the attention to detail when The Flower Factory's staff are the ones designing and arranging the bouquets. It's a flower shop that comes in with a strong rating, so don't hesitate to give them a try.
Flowers have long been a universal way to show you care, whether you're celebrating a birthday, offering condolences, or just brightening someone's day. Each bouquet can carry its own meaning - roses for love, lilies for sympathy, sunflowers for cheer - making flowers a perfect gift for almost any occasion.
Flower delivery can easily bring the beauty and joy of fresh blooms directly to your door (or the doorstep of someone special) without the hassle of going to a flower shop - when you order online. When you use a flower delivery website, you get access to a variety of options, from timeless classics like those roses and lilies to unique, seasonal arrangements curated by skilled florists.
Some services even offer same-day or next-day delivery, so you can send a thoughtful gift even if you're shopping at the last minute. How do they get it done? Usually, online flower delivery services are partnered with a florist network, so that your order is fulfilled by someone local (although there are a few who ship their bouquets directly from the farm).
Want to make your gift even more special? You can often add on a vase, balloons, chocolates, or a custom greeting card with a personal message. This flexibility makes it easy to personalize your order so that it perfectly fits the sentiment you want to convey.
So, which online florist should you use for your next beautiful bouquet or artful arrangement? Choosing the right flower delivery service can depend on a few key factors:
