Flowers Fast has been in business since 1997 - and if we're being completely frank, the website of this flower delivery service doesn't seem to have been updated a lot since then. But, they're a member of the FTD network and have same-day options if you're in a pinch, so don't let the outdated website stop you from seeing what Flowers Fast can do for you.
Over 200 choices for sympathy flowers
Looking at the two types of flower delivery we used as a comparison across services - a dozen red roses and a basic sympathy arrangement - Flowers Fast did pretty well. There were about 200 options for sending condolences, and the lowest-priced was a basket with white kalanchoe for $44.90. There were also quite a few in Flowers Fast's USO collection that were perfect for a veteran or first responder, all in red-white-and-blue.
More expensive than some flower delivery rivals
It wasn't easy to find the dozen roses we were looking for; ultimately, we went into the dropdown menu and kept clicking until it let us select "roses” as the flower of interest. The first match only had 6 roses for $49.90 (Simply Enchanting Rose Bouquet), but as we scrolled through all of the arrangements with roses, we finally found a bouquet of a dozen for $59.90. That's more expensive than some of the flower delivery companies on our list - and even more so when you add in the delivery fee of $19.99.
No extra fees for same-day delivery
Then again, you don't pay any surcharge at Flowers Fast for same-day delivery. Given that some rivals charge, say, $15 for standard delivery and then another $15 for day-of delivery, that puts this florist in a better light.
Budget flowers? Not exactly
We also chuckled that Flowers Fast offers "Budget Flowers” as an option, with a price range from $0 to $40... but the only plant in the bunch (pun intended) was a hanging ivy for $39.90. Everything else on the list was balloons, cookies, or chocolate-covered strawberries. In other words, don't expect to pay under $40 for any bouquets or arrangements here.
Different bouquet sizes to consider
When you do find an arrangement you like, you'll usually have sizing options of Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. For example, on the Bright Lights Bouquet with Lavender Basket, Flowers Fast prices the Standard at $49.90, the Deluxe at $59.90, and the Premium at $71.90. You can see all of the corresponding images for each size, and bear in mind that the one used in the thumbnails as you browse is usually the Premium. (And, we happened to notice that on the Bright Lights basket, our delivery charge was $1 less than on the same-day roses.)
Add on some extras
When you get to the (clunky-looking) checkout at Flowers Fast, there are some important details to pay attention to. Yes, you can add a foil balloon, teddy bear, or boxed chocolates if you like. Also, when you select the occasion in the dropdown box (which is required), the lines below will fill in with a sample message - which you can modify or delete entirely, if you prefer. All of that is pretty standard so far.
No substitutions if you don't want them
But, where we really feel warm-fuzzies for Flowers Fast is in the special comments box. If you really want to highlight a special color or flower in your delivery, this company lets you tell them so. Plus, Flowers Fast goes out of their way to avoid the disappointment often experienced by people ordering bouquets or arrangements online, only to have substitutions made that result in a "this doesn't look anything like the photo” kind of experience. Notice that in the Special Comments area, it defaults to "YES” for allowing those substitutions. However, you can delete it and type in "NO” if you'd rather have your order canceled than have substitutions made. We love that.
No nasty surprises on delivery timing
We also really appreciate that Flowers Fast spells out what you need to know about timing your delivery, recommending that you send it the day before, especially if your preferred date falls on a Sunday or during a holiday period. They also welcome you to let them know in the same comments area if you'd rather have your order canceled than arrive on a different date than the one you specified.
Customers are super-satisfied here
So, we've covered the flowers, the delivery, and the fantastic options you have to be super-specific about what you do and don't want with respect to substitutions (of both flowers and delivery dates). How does Flowers Fast do with its reputation? Honestly, we're surprised that there still doesn't seem to be a Better Business Bureau listing for this florist. However, we turned to the linked Shopper Approved page for Flowers Fast, and the reviews were very current (with some left on the day of our evaluation, even), and very positive. 77% of customers leaving ratings gave Flowers Fast a perfect 5-star score, and the flower shop averages an impressive 4.7 stars out of 5 across more than 3300 reviews. Here's our favorite one: "I accidentally ordered the wrong item AND spelled my name wrong on the card. I also ordered on her birthday after 12PM. They corrected everything and still got her flowers to her same day.” From what we know of flower delivery companies, that's a pretty rare thing, and we're happy to see that Flowers Fast has its customer service dialed in.

Flowers Fast easily earns a high rating from us. Of course, we'd love to see a more updated website (along with a BBB rating). But overall, if you're looking to have flowers delivered today and you want the peace of mind of using a florist with fantastic customer support, this is a surprisingly good choice.
